Chapter Fifty Nine, The Forest.

...

All the present—and conscious—gods stared at Lokreum, their gazes switching back and forth between he and Julius.

Citemer had made her way towards her husband, holding his unconscious body close to her chest.

"If he is so powerful then why does he seem to be injured right now?" She questioned, not any fear in her body.

She was familiar with two of the all-powerful figures before her... It was her father and... her uncle, perhaps?

"The Ignotovian bloodline is limited by only one thing, and that is unchangeable. It is stopped by the genetic limiters placed within the brain and DNA of those that awaken." Lokreum explained.

"To truly utilize their trait, the Ignotovian needs to be able to handle the mental pressure. Formulating and bringing hundreds of Deified laws into existence, and then finding universes to assimilate them within... It's rather taxing... To scour such a large area of existence and bring forth so many laws? It is not an easy task..." He gave Julius his credit, all those present examining the sleeping man.

They watched as the bright white blood dripped from his nose, his strange beauty mesmerizing everyone for a moment.

"And I thought I had just gotten a power boost..." Seiya muttered from the corner, having retreated there to watch the spectacle.

He emerged, shaking his head rather disappointedly.

"As did I..." Alexandria agreed.

"I... I remember hearing that the human progenitor has the strength to tap into the power of all those with his bloodline... Is this true?" Seiya turned his head towards Lokreum, questioning him as he stood above Julius and Citemer.

"Indeed that is correct." Lokreum nodded.

In response, Seiya shook his head, aiming his hand towards the side.

His skin bubbled, travelling down from his shoulder to his palm. Out of his hand came a skin black sludge, a small mushy clump of matter falling to the ground.

Rather quickly, Seiya had purged the human bloodline within him.

"I guess the only thing I can do to catch up is... Make a new Existential Law..."

Alexandria meditated beneath a large tree, found just a little lower on the mountain. Seiya sat atop the pavilion walls, kicking his feet as he watched the sun set.

Kieron leant against Lokreum's throne, deep in thought.

Citemer sat against a wall, raking through Julius' hair. Of course, he was still unconscious despite the whole day having passed.

"Do you think Seiya is capable of forming an Existential law?" Kieron asked, questioning Lokreum as the rest were in their own world.

"In all honesty?... No." The God replied, a chuckle escaping him. It was clear to him, Seiya was getting in over his head.

"But, I have the full confidence that one of you will breach the gap between Ignotovians and all other powers... Ignotovians will not stay unbeatable for forever." He scratched his neck, urging himself forward.

"But, there are more important matters right now..." His eyes squinted and a small smile formed on his face.

His gaze turned elsewhere...

The trees rustled, the moonlight shining down through the gaps between the leaves. A woman followed the trail, her cloak and fur shoulder piece ruffling in the wind.

At her hip was a bag, the one in which the book in her hands had came. She walked along the path, glancing upwards every so often.

"Where is the main road?..." She questioned, not so frantic, but not very calm either.

Humanity had been growing well for nearly 300 years yet they couldn't make more roads connecting settlements?

She was rather disappointed...

Closing the book, she gazed straight ahead. It was clear that these parts weren't mapped clear enough.

She wrapped her cloak around her further, trying to fend off the cold. One of her fingers found its way to her face, pulling her white hair behind her ear. Twigs cracked in the distance, making her turn. She navigated through the woods, stepping over plants, mounds, wood. The way she moved, despite not using her hands in anyway... You would think she was a mountaineer.

Despite climbing over things, trying to roughly follow the faded route, she showed no difficulties. There was no grunting, no exhaustion, just pure expertise.

But maneuverability wouldn't save her from what was lurking within the shadows.

As she walked, there was a large cracking sound that resounded above her, making her stop her tracks for the first time.

Rather swiftly, an entity dropped from the foliage, kicking up some dust as it landed.

Her eyes squinted, reaching deeper into her cloak, her palm wrapping around a leather hilt.

She glared forward, watching as the thing before her rose to it's full stature.

They seemed to be the same height, but there were blaring differences between the two...

The woman stood relatively tall, approximately five feet and six inches. Her hair was long, but hidden beneath her hood, as most of her characteristics were. She had golden eyes, a sharp but rather long nose, a chiseled jaw, and perfect teeth. She was slim, not having any protruding feminine features. She was flat chested, and quite honestly built like a boy...

As for what stood before her? It was drastically different.

The only similarity between her and the thing before it, was their height, and general body shape.

Standing before her was a furred creature. It stood with two longs, and had two lengthy arms. There was grey fur over the majority of its body, with red skin showing through on it's chest, and face primarily, but not being limited to only these spots. There was a... mean mug, on its face. It had rather human eyes, with two bottom teeth protruding from it's bottom jaw.

Stopped in her tracks, she could obviously tell what she was facing...

"Beastkin..." She muttered, staring at the highly evolved ape before her.

The male monkey grunted, it's tail swaying in the air behind him.

A nervousness creeped up in her mind.

Had she been the first human to be observed by the beastkin?

She didn't see many good outcomes from this encounter. And from the looks of things, it seemed they were destined to battle...

"Hello." She spoke, amplifying the kreus in her voice, and using sorcery to convey her words and meaning telepathically.

At that sound, the apes ear twitched, his head turning ever so slightly.

He stepped, walking forward with the same expression on his face.

He bent down, his fists touching the ground as he shifted his movement. He approached on all fours, his face getting progressively more frightening, his teeth beginning to show as a low growl exited his mouth.

The woman stepped back, unsheathing a dagger from her hip.

"I do not wish to harm you. My name is Vera, I am just passing through." She said, raising her dagger steadily. Her body still held it's composure perfectly, just her eyes were wavering. She did not convey any form of fear, only wariness.

The ape approached, slowing to a stop just ten feet away. It gazed upwards, growling rather violently.

That was when she realized something.

The monkey had not been looking at her this whole time, but behind her.

"Move." A deep and elderly voice emitted from before her, her eyes widening.

She didn't expect to hear the beastkin talk...

Slowly, she turned around, glancing over her shoulder. Towering behind her was a creature, a fledgling Sacred Beast...

It was a lesser variant of the sacred species, capable of evolving into greatness. It was large and furry. It had blazing white pearls for eyes, with a sharp jaw, jagged teeth displayed. It drooled, a long string of wet fluids nearly touching the ground.

It's back was hunched, and it leered over her rather menacingly.

"You're not listening." The ape spoke, making her turn back briefly.

"Immobilize." At that moment, Vera could feel everything lock up, and a film of energy laid itself atop of her skin.

In awe, she watched as the ape leapt above her, soaring towards the creature.

She could not see what happened once he left her field of vision, but she could hear lots of movement.

There was battering, relentlessly.

It was that way for a few moments, before she felt a cracking.

Her restriction was broken, and she fell forward, instantly swinging her head around.

Staring at the sight before her, her jaw went agape.

The fledgling Sacred Beast was on the floor, unmoving, and the ape sat atop it, a hand on its chin.

"What are you? You are rather slow... As for my name, I am called Wu." He spoke.

Vera did not know what to say.

She could only stand there in silence...
