CHAPPY 82 - COMPLAINING TO NAGANT
--[--]...[--]--
It was a surprise.
Kenjiki didn’t expect to see them here of all places.
Moreover, there were not many surviving pictures of them outside of the mansion.
“Was it Nagant who took them?” Kenjiki realized that it shouldn’t be taken without their consent.
They seemed to be posing for the photos, with Ei gracefully swinging her sword to split reality open.
Shenhe, on the other hand, seemed to be bored out of her mind.
“Probably was.” Kyoka agreed with him since there shouldn’t be anyone capable of doing this.
Kyoka listened to Aizawa explaining who they were to most of their knowledge about them.
Unfortunately, there’s simply almost no information about them other than the weapon they use by looking at their portrait.
However, a portrait below it was something that caused Kyoka to widen her eyes out of sheer shock.
It was a picture of Kyoka biting into someone’s neck, which was clearly Kenjiki’s, glaring at the camera.
“When was this?” Kyoka mumbled to herself, trying to figure out how she did not remember this ever happening.
Meanwhile, Aizawa finally introduced the name Kyoka Jiro to the rest of them while also pointing at the person.
“That girl? I thought these people were unidentified.” A hero, the representative of America, called Star and Stripe, turned her head to look at Kyoka.
Other heroes also thought the same way, since they were told that those people who were listed on the website seemed to not exist.
But now, the revelation that one of them existed and was sitting alongside them was quite a shock.
They wanted to swoop in and ask who she was.
Only to be stopped by their agents who didn’t want to look desperate in front of the other nations.
“Who are you actually, boy?” Bang didn’t care about all of the politics that was going on around him and just directly asked Kenjiki.
Bang refrained from directly asking Kyoka about it, since he’s only acquainted with Kenjiki.
“Kenjiki Shinketsu. Wait, I thought I’ve already told you my name?” Kenjiki pretended to be oblivious since it would be a hassle otherwise.
“Don’t feign ignorance, it’s quite obvious that you know what he was talking about.” The samurai beside Bang couldn’t watch Kenjiki going around in circles anymore.
They engaged in a staring war, each side not wanting to back down for whatever reason.
Everything happened in a heartbeat, the other couldn’t even react until it was too late and a spark appeared in the air between the two of them.
Resulting in the samurai furrowing his eyebrows, glaring at the boy who actually deflected his intimidation slash.
“That was quite rude wasn’t it.” Kenjiki looked mildly annoyed at the attack.
“Yes, it was. But the question still stands, who are you?” Looking at the nameplate on the table, it seemed that the samurai’s name was Atomic Samurai.
A cool name.
“How do you want me to explain it?” Kenjiki's determination started to crack.
You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.
Because this question would keep being asked if he was to ignore it while escaping from here was an option.
Things wouldn’t be fun anymore once he left this place.
However, the world seemed to favor him, since the TV let out an audible ding.
“It got updated?” The one who understood what had happened exclaimed at the screen.
Indeed, the part that was blank a minute ago had been updated, and the silhouette portrait was replaced with a clear one.
Kenjiki Shinketsu was what it said.
With a portrait depicting him in his vampire form looking at something below him.
While the wings and horn made the portrait don't make it look like the actual person, everyone could see that it was literally him.
Conveniently, it had a brief overview of Kenjiki on it.
“Kenjiki Shinketsu, Former Vampire God?” Aizawa read out the information in disbelief.
It was somewhat obvious to him that it was Kenjiki who was at the top.
However, the information was unbelievable.
Former Vampire God? What could that even mean?
At first, Aizawa wanted to introduce Kenjiki to the rest of the people in the room, gambling on the fact that he was actually on the list.
But now, he realized that either the website creator was messing with them or it was actually truthful.
Which lessened the credibility of the list that was on the website.
“What--? Does it have to be that?” Kenjiki knew that rather than helping him, Nagant had made it worse for him.
Before everyone comprehended what that actually meant, Kenjiki grabbed Kyoka and summoned The Door.
They vanished without any trace.
Once the heroes wanted to ask him for clarification, they realized that the seats were empty.
“Is he a fraud?” One of them muttered since there was no need to flee if that was true.
“Japan, I’d like for you to explain what just happened to us.” The representatives of other countries started to inquire.
This left the rest of the Japanese representatives like All Might who also didn’t know the truth utterly confused.
Unable to answer any of the questions that were thrown at them.
Any attempt to explain their situation was instantly deflected, saying that there was no way they wouldn’t know if Kenjiki came here as their representative.
The chaos forced the meeting to stop abruptly since it was impossible to continue with a peaceful meeting from then on.
At the same time, the enthusiasts who were monitoring the website at all times noticed the change.
Which caused the topic of ‘Kenjiki Shinketsu, Former Vampire God’ to blow up instantly.
It was such an absurd topic that everyone loved to gossip.
No matter if it was true or false, the thing they cared more about was the absurdity of calling someone a God.
[“Has anyone found who is this Kenjiki Shinketsu?”]
[“From his name, he should be Japanese, maybe he’s famous there?”]
[“Japanese here. If I’m not wrong, that guy was the Dark Horse of the U.A. Sports Festival before it ended abruptly.”]
[“A high schooler? Was the site hacked or something?”]
No one would ever believe that a high schooler was the one matched to fight against the supposed King of Villains.
So they just opted to think that the site was hacked by someone.
[“I found something interesting. Kenjiki Shinketsu looked like an older version of the Hero Kenshin who debuted in America a few years ago. *image attached*”]
[“Actually yeah, look at the horns and wings, they looked identical.”]
[“True. Where did he go though? There hasn’t been any news about him for a while.”]
[“I wonder.”]
Sure, the internet buzzed like crazy talking about the reveal.
For the majority of the people, this was just exaggerated news that was created solely for clicks.
The one that affected the most was Kenjiki who directly went to Nagant’s office.
“Why that?” Kenjiki slammed his ass on the sofa, glaring at Nagant who was busy with his computer.
“Why not? Isn’t that the truth?” Nagant replied with a straight face.
“Yes sure, but it will be annoying to go out now.” Kenjiki groaned.
“Yes, don’t you love the attention it gives?” Nagant chuckled, looking at his dreadful expression.
Kenjiki was simply thankful that he didn’t have a smartphone so that he wouldn’t have to deal with calls on top of Nagant.
Or else he would have to take down his phone just to stop curious people.
*ring~~*
Only then did Kenjiki remember that Kyoka had a phone, which meant that her friends could call her.
