CHAPPY 55 - ASCENDERE THE LADDER
--[--]...[--]--
Even though Aizawa wanted to investigate what just happened. The other monsters forced him to stop ogling the watch and helped the other teachers by doing the same thing by easily slicing through the now smooth bodies of the monsters.
This heavily shocked everyone, including the monsters who couldn't believe their body was strong enough to be unscathed after being shot by a bullet. Suddenly it became so soft in front of the cloth Aizawa was using to slice every one of the monsters.
"All of you, try using the new feature in your watch before fighting." Aizawa dropped that information to the teachers and the pussies.
They were confused as to what he was talking about. Because what could be there inside this small watch for it to have for it to be able to help them fight against those monstrosities?
Unfortunately for them, the urgency of the situation at hand couldn't let them think too much about anything, and turned on their watch to notice a new feature was added to it. Activating it, they noticed a strange aura enveloping part of their body whilst feeling a surge of power inside their body.
While they were understandably taken aback by what was happening to them. They couldn't waste any more time standing around like a moron and quickly to the other monsters that were chasing the students.
“What's this? How did they suddenly get such a massive boost?" Tomura scratched his chin when he noticed that the fodders he had sent were suddenly being massacred en masse.
"I heard something about 'Last Edge' and a watch giving them a strength boost." The head reported in real-time as he watched the fight from the ground. "Shall I procure the object?"
"No need. That thing must've been given by Nagant, the master told me. so, stealing it will only end up telling them about our involvement." Tomura used his binoculars to watch his side lose the fight. "Try sending one Demon level there."
The head heard his command, nodded, and went into the ground to relay the message to the one who was in charge of transporting the monsters to this location.
Meanwhile, the monsters that were attacking the camp had been taken care of. None of the students were injured, unscathed even, thanks to the watch energy shield feature that protected the students from any harm coming their way.
"Is this thing indestructible?" Pixie-Bob tapped the energy dome protecting the students using her golem.
Rather than the previous energy shield that could only protect one and only one student per shield. The current dome was every one of the students' shields merging into one forming an even bigger and harder shield.
"Maintain the shield for a few hours, lest there are still monsters lurking around." Principal Nezu told the students as he went to meet the other teachers to discuss the next plan. "Ragdoll, monitor any suspicious movement around the camp at all times. Tiger, you might want to be her bodyguard to prevent any accident."
The teachers worked even harder than before because they remembered what the dying monsters kept on repeating even on their dying breath. ‘The Dragons will avenge us!’.
While they’re unsure on what they could’ve meant, the teachers didn’t want to take any chance of being caught off guard.
The students on the other hand were making themselves comfortable by creating chairs and everything with their quirk. There's even someone who made a camp complete with the seats surrounding it.
"Do you think that there are monsters left?" Eijiro, the spiky, asked his friends because he had long been bored with just sitting around.

"Highly likely, they seemed to be targeting the students the most. So it wouldn't be weird for them to wait it up until the dome vanishes." Ida, the glasses, replied with his usual stiff tone.
"Should we tell the teachers then?" Izuku, another spiky but this time green, asked thinking that as if the heroes that were their teachers didn't know that already.
"Don't worry, they already know about it. That's why Ragdoll is there." Ida replied back. "Also, where's Aoyama? I haven't seen him since the last headcount."
Ida looked around for his friend who had disappeared without anyone realizing. Upon hearing his words, everyone else also looked around to finally notice one of them had disappeared.
They looked around to no avail, there were simply too many people to find Aoyama in the bunch. Even asking around didn't get them any results, as no one simply saw him around, except for one student who told them that Aoyama went to the edge of the dome alone.
*CRACK!*
*boom*
The ground exploded, causing smoke to rise high enough to cover part of the dome.
"That took too much effort to break." A voice came from inside the smoke. "You'd better go now, or else you'll be found out."
When the dust calmed down, a very weird sight entered everyone's head. A bamboo ladder with two hands sticking out of the side stood there menacingly looking at them.
It just stood there glancing over at everyone, trying to see how everyone reacted to his entrance. To his expectation, everyone was too amazed to say anything.
“Let's finish this quickly.” The ladder mumbled as he vanished and reappeared in front of a first-year, swinging his right hand downwards aiming for the student’s neck.
*thwabp*
An invisible force just inches from the neck stopped the ladder's hand. This shocked both of them, who were confused as to what just happened in front of them. Thankfully, the student quickly regained his composure and immediately ditched the ladder for safety.
While deep in thought trying to rationalize what just happened, he noticed a head coming out of the ground followed by the torso. The moment he saw the head, it was too late for him, because a punch had already landed on its right bamboo leg.
Because of his constitution, his whole body was fling to the side carving a deep line where the bamboo passed by. Even then, the bamboo ladder was unphased by the punch as it stood there looking at the one who threw the punch.
“Say your name, kid.” The ladder asked the blond kid who just punched him.
“Don’t you think that you should’ve introduced yourself first?” The blond threw the question back while he was doing his best keeping his pants on his waist.
“Ascendere, that’s my name.” Ascendere crossed his arms, staring at him waiting for an answer.
“Lemillion.” Lemillion said his name as he sunk into the ground once again.
Ascendere looked down, waiting for the same attack to come out of the ground only to be caught off guard by a tentacle uppercut that launched the ladder upwards.
As if launching the ladder into the air wasn’t enough, Lemillion teleported onto the surface and grabbed the bamboo’s side, and slammed it onto the ground, creating a small crater.
But all of this seemed to be futile as Ascendere stood up on his feet and swung his arm completely expecting the shield to block his attack, and block his attack it did.
Even so, everything didn’t look so good for Lemillion as the shield crumbled by itself after defending against the slam. Seeing this, Lemillion tried to go into the ground but was caught short when Ascendere was quicker to throw a punch toward the torso.
“You certainly are stronger than most.” Ascendere mused, seeing that Lemillion successfully blocked his attack; although not without coughing up blood. “But we’ll see how long you can do this.”
“Mirio!” Another student with emo hair shouted when he saw his friend coughing blood.
Rather than just waiting from the side, he activated his quirk causing his right arm to transform into a purple tentacle and his left arm to become a humongous clam that he used to break the bamboo’s momentum.
*Bam*
*BlaM*
*Slam*
But it wasn’t enough, because his attack couldn’t even make the bamboo budge.
Punches after punches were thrown by Ascendere, to which Lemillion could only helplessly defend against them as they were simply too fast for him to activate his quirk and escape.
The students just watched from the side, unable to do anything because they knew that they were not stronger than them and that they would only become the next punching bag if they were to join in.
That’s why, one of them ran the other way to their teachers to report what was happening. Only to realize that the reason their teacher didn’t come anytime soon was that the Bamboo wasn’t the only one.
