CHAPPY 6 - DOWRY NEGOTIATION
--[--]...[--]--
"How?"
"That's up to Kyoka, I'm down to fulfill anything she wants." Kenjiki averted his gaze and looked at the confused Kyoka.
Everyone followed his gaze to see the fidgeting girl who was confused and embarrassed at the same time. All of this was caused by her parents' sudden changes of behavior and the sentence 'taking responsibility for her'.
Not knowing what to say, Kyoka looked at her mother's unsure expression. Upon noticing her daughter's gaze, she nodded as if giving her the chance.
"Can I live with him?" Kyoka's words caused her parents to message their temples, because they had half expected this situation to arise.
"Girl, are you sure that's your Vampire blood affecting your emotion? Every vampire that came from his blood is naturally attracted to him, no matter if they hated him previously or not." Ei walked over to Kyoka's side and seemingly drew something on her forehead.
Her parents were shocked seeing that the violet haired woman suddenly appeared behind them when the last time they blinked she was still far away.
They wanted to stop her, but were stopped by Nagant who calmed them down by saying that what Ei did was just to clear their daughter's mind a bit.
At the same time, the drawing was shining bright as Kyoka's eyes changed color to that of violet color with a symbol in the middle of her eyes.
"What do you want?" Ei asked the blank faced Kyoka.
"I… I want to stay by his side." The moment she said that, her eyes regained their original color.
Ei sighed.
Kenjiki on the other hand was smiling, as this was one of the rare times where a woman actually wanted to go with him, and instead of approaching him just to satisfy their needs.
While the woman he brought was shrugging seeing the result.
But Kyoka's parents were different, because they didn't grasp the thing that Ei had done to their daughter and why it would matter.
Seeing their confusion.
"It's an ability of hers, where she could 'see' through anything. Like mental manipulation, illusion, and the fabrics of reality itself. She could also use that ability on other people." Nagant explained even though the couple seemingly did not believe her.
Even so, they couldn't do anything to refuse what her daughter had said when she was looking at them with pleading eyes.
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
They had no choice but to agree with her daughter's words.
What followed after that was the father demanding numerous requirements to be fulfilled.
[Kyoka had to visit them once a week - Unnegotiable]
[Kenjiki are not allowed to put his hands on her - Unnegotiable]
[They have to see where their daughter will be living - Unnegotiable]
Other than those three important requirements, he also asked a bit of petty demands such as 'Kyoka must eat three times a day, one less she had to come home'.
"Those things are naturally easy to do." Kenjiki said, as he laughed at the sight of a father doing everything he could to prevent her daughter from leaving home.
"Then don't go back on your words or else Kyoka wouldn't be allowed to meet you." The father felt weird the whole time they were talking, because he felt he was talking to someone who's the same age as him or older with how calm Kenjiki was answering to his demands.
"Then, with those settled. How about we go back to the stadium?" Nagant said, noticing that the dowry negotiation was finished.
With that, everyone left the pond for the stadium, except for Kenjiki and Kyoka who had to go to their locker room and prepare for the tournament.
Meanwhile, the adult group had gone to sit at the empty seats.
"Has anyone come to find you?" Nagant asked the father without bothering to look at him.
"There had been people who said that they came from the government." The father was visibly tensed upon hearing her speak. "They told us that there's an error with Kyoka's quirk in their database."
The father then continued to recall the past where a bunch of different people who claimed to come from the government arrived at their house.
Most of them wanted to research her drastic quirk development. But he was already warned about such a situation by Nagant who told him to say 'We've submitted any relevant information to the government' or something along the line.
Ei who had been on the side hearing their conversation had her ears perked up.
"You guys knew each other?" Ei asked with a bemused face. "Are you plotting something behind Master?"
"Yes we are." Nagant casually answered her question. "I'm not like you guys who only know how to suck. When you're busy sleeping, I was going around tying loose ends that might bite us in the back later."
"That's quite the noble of you. But are you sure you want to do that? His main goal living this new life was to enjoy life, if it's too smooth then what else is there to enjoy?" Ei snickered.
Nagant just ignored that sentence of hers and continued to inquire about the Jiro Household situation since then.
The couple noticed the tense air between the two of them and pretended to not see it, because they knew how notorious the woman in front of them was.
"There's also quite a number of crimes happening near our house, to the point that the house next to us had exploded." The father said as he noticed the frown on Nagant's face.
"It's probably him, with a 'quirk' like your daughter, it's inevitable that he would come." Nagant remembered the deformed looking man that they've fought.

"Alright! Gather up. We will be drawing lots to determine the bracket, and because there's only 14 people here. There will be 2 people who are going to get a free match." Midnight shouted, as she brought out a box.
One by one walked to the podium and picked a ball, and in a flash everyone had gotten their ball each.
"Who's number 1 and 14?" Midnight called out.
"Me."
"M-Me!"
Coincidentally, the one who got the free match was Kyoka who was smiling. The other one was the green haired boy who Kenjiki knew as bone-breaking Midoriya.
