CHAPPY 45 - SEARCHING FOR THE FABLED MONSTER CELL

--[--]...[--]--

Eyes closed, Kenjiki snaked his hand inside Cyrene when suddenly someone coughed causing him to open his eyes and see Kyoka had finally arrived with the other girls from class 1-A who were awkwardly trying to avert their gaze from what he was doing.

"What took you so long?" Kenjiki ignored the girls behind her and glanced at Kyoka.

"We had to prepare unlike someone." Kyoka replied snarkily as she climbed his beach chair and lay on top of him.

"Alright alright." Kenjiki looked at the rebellious girl on top of him and chuckled. "Have a seat first while we wait for the others."

Kenjiki looked over to Cyrene and told her to materialize a sofa for them to sit on. Cyrene rolled her eyes and created a long outdoor sofa out of nowhere surprising the girls.

The girls' brains were freezing at the rapid pace of the things around them happened. It started with them seeing that Kenjiki was doing something vulgar without care and that Kyoka seemed to be unfazed by all of this, she even laid on his chest before shutting her eyes.

What happened stumped their brain quite a bit that they didn't realize that a sofa materializing out of nowhere was beyond weird. But it couldn't be helped as none of the three acted like anything weird had happened and that Kenjiki asked them to sit as if it was a daily occurrence.

"Where's the boat at?" Mina put both of her hands over her eyes and looked around the sea to see nothing but water.

"It probably isn't here yet, this whole thing looks rushed." Momo said, remembering how suddenly Kyoka came to them and invited them to a boating event.

That reasoning seemed reasonable so they didn't bother to ask about the boat and just talked to each other while they waited for the boat and for the other people Kenjiki said hadn't arrived yet.

At first, they want to catch up with Kyoka as they haven't met with each other for some time since she moved to class 1-S, but seeing her so peacefully sleeping on Kenjiki's chest made them sigh.

Being so lovey-dovey in front of her friends was quite the scene but they suddenly remembered what he was doing before they arrived. He was cheating with the woman who sat beside him and strangely Kyoka didn't react to it even though they were sure that she absolutely saw what was happening.

"Is this not weird from them? I heard that Kenjiki moved from the US so maybe things are different there?" The invisible girl, Hagakure conceptually tilted her head in confusion.

Although they had heard that Kenjiki was from the US before he came to UA High from nagging their homeroom teacher about him, they didn't know if a three-person relationship was normal there or if it was just him being abnormal.

Their conversation revolved around that for quite some time until they noticed a group of girls walking out of the forest with a surprised look when the two groups made eye contact.

"Looks like everyone is here." Kenjiki turned his head to Kendo's group.

With Kendo as the lead, they approached the girls of class 1-A and greeted them before then greeting the host of the event.

"How do you guys want to board the boat? By air or by sea?" Kenjiki suddenly asked them a weird question.

"Sea?" All of them answered in confusion, not knowing why he would ask that.

Kenjiki nodded and tilted his head to the right as he sent a telepathic message to Nagant who was not far away from them to send a small boat to pick them up.

This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

While the girls were confused as to what he was doing, they heard a loud engine noise roaring from the sea where they saw an unmanned boat going straight to them.

"What are you guys waiting for? Let's board." Kenjiki stood up with Kyoka in his embrace, still sleeping.

Following him from behind, they boarded one by one leaving the chairs and sofa behind. Even though no one was on the helm of the boat, it started to move as soon as everyone sat down.

"It's quite small for all of us isn't it?" Tokage looked around.

Even if they could quite comfortably sit around, there wasn't really that much space for them to do anything. They're visibly disappointed, thinking that this was the boat Kenjiki was talking to use.

But, much to their surprise, they noticed the sight of a modestly big yacht just chilling out on the sea casting a shadow upon the sea.

In the now-abandoned lair of the late Monster Association. Rumbles and crackling could be heard deep into the ground as a group of people roamed the place seemingly to be looking for something.

"Are you sure this place has this thing?" Twice, a victim of Ei agitatedly jumped around a tall humanoid cat repeating his question.

"Urghh, can any of you shut this guy up?" The Cat grumbled ignoring Twice and looked over to Tomura.

"You can, just answer him." Dabi answered from the side as he scattered several blue flames around everyone to light the place up.

The Cat groaned and ran away from the ever-so-annoying Twice as he slipped into the rubbles to look for their goal by himself.

Meanwhile, Tomura continuously activated his quirk on a small scale to open a pathway down in the direction he was told where the meats they had been looking for were.

After a minute of non-stop Twice-grumbles, they finally reached their destination, a hallway leading them to a huge doorless gate where The Cat stood waiting for them.

"I'm warning you in advance. Unless you have a way to preserve the Monster Cells, don't ever break the water tubes." The Cat pointed at the two tubes filled with numerous beating blobs of meat.

"Ew. They look gross." Toga cringed as he stopped her body from inching any closer.

"Toga, don't you want to explore the place? How about we go together?" Twice butted in the exact moment he saw the chance.

Toga turned blind ears to him and contradicted herself by poking at the thick glass tubes that looked even thicker than her finger. After doing some pokey pokey to the tubes, she noticed a red button which she pressed without skipping a beat.

A hole opened as one of the so-called Monster Cells dropped out and was caught by a tray.

"If a human eats this, they will turn into a monster." The Cat explained.

*beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep*

On the other hand, The Cat blitzed the button as he took nearly fifty Monster Cells out of the tube. Storing them in an imaginary pocket of his, the cells somehow disappeared.

"Is this all of the cells?" Tomura picked one of the cells and looked at a misty-looking man. "Kurogiri, bring him in."

"Probably, the producer is dead. Anyway, I'll go first." The Cat instantly disappeared in an instant.

Meanwhile, Kurogiri opened a portal and spouted a confused man out of it.

"Eat this." Tomura handed him the cell.

Even though he was confused about his whereabouts, the man grabbed the cell and was disgusted by the texture. With a big gulp, he chewed the cell and suddenly felt a change in his body.

"BAHAHAHA!! I thought this deal was just some shady experimental drugs, but that's better than any doping in the world!" The man laughed as his body cracked and became bigger than before.

He looked like just any monster aside from his bright blue skin and the holes on each of his fingers.

From the holes, he shot high-pressure water and sliced the ground below him. He was delighted by the fact that his quirk exponentially became stronger, from the previous water-spouting pipe to the current water jet cutter.

"Looks like that cat didn't lie." Tomura, although disappointed by his waterpower.

The fact that such an unlethal quirk could instantly transform into a slightly lethal quirk by just eating something was just out of this world. But before he was sure that this booster didn't have any side effects, he wouldn't be tempted by something like that.

"Kurogiri, can you teleport the tubes?" Tomura ignored the monster.

"I can, but we shouldn't do that. Because we didn't know if disconnecting it from this place would spoil the cell." Kurogiri explained.

"Is that so? Too bad then." Tomura sighed as alarms blared from Kurogiri's body.

[You guys should evacuate from the area, I just got a notification from one of my friends about a meteor entering the Earth's orbit and seemed to be going straight to your location.]
