CHAPPY 68 - MEATS FOR THE BALDY
--[--]...[--]--
They walked out of an unassuming door, immediately gathering everyone's attention due to their mismatched outfit. The four of them simply had entirely different tastes in clothing compared to each other.
Making them look like a group of people who were going to go to some cosplaying event with how good their clothes look.
Kenjiki wore a traditional grayish black and white kimono that covered his whole body.
Kyoka was dressed casually in a white shirt layered with a flannel and jeans.
Shenhe was wearing a black-white tight skin qipao with numerous complex patterns that showcased her body perfectly
Mirko, on the other hand, was wearing her usual body-tight hero costume that allowed everyone to see her muscles.
This group of people was simply custom-made for cosplay event occasions. To which everyone else agreed, even though they didn’t know what characters were supposed to be.
Even though they noticed that everyone was looking at them.
They didn’t bother to acknowledge them and continued to wander around the streets as they gathered more information about places they could go for a picnic.
After wandering around for a few minutes, they arrived at a street vendor selling some cheap vegetables where Kenjiki recognized a familiar bald head negotiating for the vegetables that were already on discount.
“You brat. Why don’t you go plant them yourself? We already priced them at their lowest price.” The middle-aged woman vendor threw a cabbage leaf.
“Sigh, fine.” Saitama gave up and paid for his vegetables.
Upon leaving the vendor with his vegetables, Saitama glanced over to a boy that he felt as if he had seen somewhere, but somehow couldn’t remember even after thinking about it for a few moments.
Though, he was more shocked by the fact that the little boy was accompanied by three women of varying ages.
It made him remember his dark past when he was the opposite of this type of boy who was popular beyond reason.
Well, he couldn’t be stalling for more time and sped up his steps, wanting to cook the foods he had just bought.
Leaving Kenjiki who had expected him to recognize him hanging.
Realizing that the baldy didn’t even recognize who he was.
Kenjiki widened his eyes in shock, unable to comprehend the fact that someone didn’t acknowledge him even though he had gone to the extent of smiling at them.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t do anything to the baldy remembering the last time he ever exchanged some punch, which ended with him vaporizing into gaseous blood from the sheer force compacted in that baldy’s punch.
“Hello~” Kenjiki called out to the baldy, knowing that if he were to continue smiling without doing anything the baldy would actually leave him in the dust. “Do you mind talking with me?”
Saitama looked back, realizing that he was talking to him.
“Is there anything I can help you with? I’m in a hurry to cook dinner.” Saitama looked at the one who was calling for him, and only realized the mismatched clothing they were wearing. ‘Is there any cosplay event around?’
Even the baldy wasn’t immune to thinking this sort of thing.
Because their clothes were just too different from each other for people to think that they weren’t going to some cosplay event.
Meanwhile, Kenjiki was looking at the bag of vegetables and realized that there was no hint of meat anywhere.
What’s more, he remembered that he was haggling for those vegetables, making him think that the supposedly strong Transcendent was broke.
“Can we join? Don’t worry, we’ll bring our own ingredients.” Kenjiki’s question caught the women off guard.
As they first thought that they were going to have a private picnic once they found a good place, but now he suddenly wanted to join someone’s dinner, even though it was the first time he met this baldy.

Or so they thought, not knowing about the last time he went to this place with Cyrene.
“Do I know you?” Saitama narrowed his eyes, racking all over his brain trying to remember who this boy was.
It was simply strange for a stranger to say this kind of thing, so he just assumed that he knew the boy from somewhere and he might have just forgotten about it.
But no matter how hard he tried, no such memory regarding the boy would come up. Which confused him even more, who was he? Why did he want to go to his house?
“Was it a few weeks ago, we met in a park and you killed me once.” Kenjiki tried to help him jog his memory while he whispered something to Shenhe.
Shenhe disappeared in a heartbeat which confused the baldy as to why she had to run into the shop even though she could’ve just walked there.
What happened next caused his eyes to bulge, when the bag of meat finally entered his eyes.
The few things that he didn’t have the money to buy, but seeing someone holding a bag of them, caused him to drool.
The moment Kenjiki saw the drool on his mouth, he knew that the target had bit the bait.
“This is my token of gratuity, hope you’ll accept this.” Kenjiki handed over the bag of meat to him, which caused a rapid change of expression on his face.
Even though Saitama didn’t know who this boy was, he couldn’t reject the bag of meat he had been saving to buy and receive it with a smile while knowing that he must have wanted something from him.
But hell, he couldn’t be bothered to think about that as he started to imagine all of the ways he could cook the meat for the next month.
“Of course! But don’t hope too much, my apartment is small.” Saitama was in the seventh heaven as soon as he laid his hand on the meat.
The fact that they were strangers drowned in the sea of good food, and without further ado, they went straight to Saitama’s apartment.
On the side, Kyoka was asking why he wanted to eat with the baldy so much that he needed to bribe him using meat. But all she got was him saying that the baldy was stronger than him.
Which, of course, surprised her.
Because after all of this time they had spent together, she never thought that someone could be stronger than Kenjiki, who seemingly could do and defeat anyone.
Even the supposed king of all villains couldn’t help but be polite in front of him.
She recently learned from Nagant that the weird man who attacked them after they handled the vampire cult was that legendary figure.
In fact, even Shenhe was taken aback hearing her words.
As it was simply impossible for anyone who was stronger than her master.
Although Mirko couldn’t understand their shock, as she had never once watched him fight which caused her to be oblivious of his strength.
“Is that baldy stronger than you?” Mirko inadvertently asked Shenhe, the person she deemed as the strongest person she ever met.
“The current me, yes.” Shenhe’s situation was a bit special.
Unlike Kenjiki who lost his power due to the side effect of being reborn in a new body altogether.
Shenhe lost her power because she had been fasting on Kenjiki’s blood, something that’s terribly important for a Vampire like her.
During these last few million years where she spent all of her time tending the mansion, she was in a power-saving mode where she could only do what any normal person would until Kenjiki came back and brought his fresh blood for her to drink, reinvigorating her body albeit only part of her power came back.
The strength of Kenjiki’s Two Undying Vampires was tied directly to his strength.
The potency of his blood would obviously decrease proportionally to his strength, and his current blood simply couldn’t stimulate their full strength.
However, Mirko and Kyoka who were oblivious to all of the conditions above couldn’t help but be shocked. Mainly to the fact that her words imply that Shenhe could get even stronger.
“Who are you guys really?” Mirko suddenly remembered the one fact she had thought to be normal.
Kenjiki seemed to be in control of a whole world. Not in a way a country would, but in a way that he owned that world and he could do anything there without any fear of the consequences.
But alas, their conversation was cut short when Kyoka noticed that they seemed to be going into a sketchy place.
A place people would normally avoid, simply because every building she could land her eyes on was destroyed, only with some of them standing.
“Are you living around?” Even Kenjiki was a bit perplexed seeing his surroundings because he expected someone at this level would be at least somewhere decent.
“Yeah, the rent is cheap here. Dirt cheap in fact.” Saitama didn’t notice the tone in his voice, instead, he was proud of the fact that he was able to get a cheap apartment for him.
“The rent couldn’t be that low right?” Kenjiki couldn't imagine how cheap the rent was for anyone to justify living in this condition.
In fact, the rent was almost the same price as a piece of meat he bought for Saitama.
Well, Saitama wouldn’t tell him for fear that someone would rent in the same place as him and increase the rent.
Before long, they arrived in a tilting apartment filled with cracks everywhere.
“Genos! We are having some meat today!” Saitama shouted as he opened the door of his apartment.
On the other side of the door was Genos, an apron-wearing cyborg holding a knife who locked eyes with Kenjiki and the harem he brought, a group of people he had never seen before.
But since his master brought them here, he allowed everyone to enter before closing the door.
Using the meat he received from his master.
Genos modified the meals he was cooking while putting the rest of the unused meats into the fridge for the future, something that his master had specifically told him.
