71. Another dramatic entrance

Although Buckley had a broad smile on his face as he spoke, Robin could immediately see the rage in his enlarged nostrils and forehead lines. The comments of Robin were met by an uneasy smile from Frayer as well.

"Is there no other way other than importing the tablets. It might very inconvenient to you if you just import. The government tends to very strict for imported drugs." Frayer enquired, this time with a tad more of a threat in his voice, making the point that the authorities might try to prevent him from selling the medications. Or, to put it another way, his medicine may not receive FDA approval.

He was subtly suggesting that he could have the ability to sway FDA policy in accordance with their wishes.

"Oh, I am sure that the FDA will approve once they see the functionality of the drugs." Still grinning, Robin didn't appear to comprehend the deceptive threat against him. Before saying farewell, Frayer and Buckley continued to gaze at Robin for a brief period of time. They both slipped away with nothing but sympathy in their eyes.

"They are not happy with your approach." From behind, Myrene uttered her words. She wasn't very adept at reading emotions, but she could still see that these two weren't talking about the new medication with good intentions.

"I know." Robin simply returned Myrene's smile. He was aware that these two would now attempt to scuttle the agreement they were trying to reach, and in all honesty, he was looking forward to it. Sigret saw Robin stare at her and immediately understood what she needed to do. The three went calmly back to their hotel to bed, but Robin had a sneaking suspicion that this was going to be a memorable evening.

Instead of returning to their own locations, Buckley and Frayer went to Frayer's house. Buckley had no place to call home in this place; Frayer did. Frayer was in high demand here in Princeton since he was in charge of overseeing the pharmaceutical companies.

"Honey, I am home." Frayer shouted. In a matter of seconds a beautiful female emerged from the upper floor and slowly came down. She was gorgeous even though she was above 45. Frayer and the woman were high school sweethearts and they got married quite early and later they got married after Frayer passed out from Boston University.

"You are back early babe.. You said that you will return at night. Oh! James is here too. What a surprise. How is Amanda?" The woman came forward and kissed her husband after acknowledging Buckley who had come with Frayer.

"Oh you know the life of a business woman. She is almost never at home." Buckley said with a sad smile. Unlike the wife of Frayer, his wife was career driven and he felt like it was competition between him and his wife.

"Ahh! That's sad. By the way, what's up? Is everything alright?"

"Oh don't speak about it. This new guy is more pain in the ass than I expected him to be." Frayer said as he sounded quite angry.

"You mean the new guy who came up with the amazing drug? What did he do?" The woman asked as she was curious. For the past few days, she had been hearing whispers of an amazing drug that the new guy who joined the Labcorp had brought. When Frayer left in the morning, he was optimistic that everything would go well. Not only did it not go well, but this guy might have ruined the whole deal.

"He refused to share the formula and manufacturing process of this new medication. This would mean that the other pharma industries would suffer tremendously if we can't share the formula with others." Buckley chimed in. He too, like Frayer, was not in a good mood. The pharma industries were not in different camps like the normal public believed them to be.

The majority of the medicines produced by the various pharmaceutical industries, including Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Eli Lilly, and other similar businesses, were almost always shared. Only a small number of medicines with limited applications for the general public belonged exclusively to each business. That happened for the simple reason that the investors in each of these businesses were almost usually the same, therefore the trade secret had no significance to them.

Frayer and Buckley wanted the method primarily so they could spread it to other businesses and benefit from it, even if the Labcorp refused to do so because Darkstar owned the largest investment in the Labcorp and had the power to veto any choices.

"That's quite unfortunate. So what are you gonna do about it?" The woman asked as she wanted to know how they would decide to take down someone rich. Though she might not be an official partner, her husband Frayer would always talk and ask advice from her which always led her to the inside secrets.

"We can't just intimidate this guy with local thugs. We will have to go through the law." Frayer said. He was too greedy to let this drug slip through his hands.

"And how exactly do you want to do it?" The woman asked.

"He brought drugs from Europe right? We can easily use the police to raid his stay here and implant drugs in the scene. Since we already have the drugs we can manipulate it in such a way that the drugs he brought was harmful so earning a search warrant would be as easy as making a pie." Buckley said. Normally he would have used local thugs but since this guy was powerful it was better to use more sophisticated and modern methods to bring Robin and Myrene to their knees. Frayer too thought of the same idea.

In a sense, Robin did break the law because he brought medications that the FDA had not approved. Now, one might simply manipulate this to obtain a search warrant and then plant drugs using their police informants as moles. They had to use legal channels to obtain the search warrant because they were afraid Robin might also be wealthy and connected. It was preferable to employ a more secure route.

The wife concurred with this as well. Later, the three walked to the courtyard to bring out some champagne to celebrate while Frayer spoke with the local judge over the search warrant needed to raid Robin's lodgings. He had a good relationship with the judge, so they spoke more smoothly.

Frayer then contacted his contacts in law enforcement and requested that the officer go to Labcorp, retrieve the drug, and present it to the judge in order to obtain the necessary warrant and to ensure that the entire procedure was lawful.

Frayer opened the champagne bottle and popped the cork with Buckley and his wife when the two calls were finished.

"This going to earn us billions and not only in USA but in each and every country in the world."

"We are really going to change the world once we get our hands on the formula. This Robin guy really fell like a golden goose for us in our lap." Buckley said as he was expecting more power with this new drug. At their age, they had all the money in the world and right now all they craved was the power. This drug will allow them to control more governments and he was sure the other investors would applaud him for his contribution to their investment firms.

The three sat on the chairs in the huge courtyard beside the pool and just talked about their future plans. The new drug had changed many things and they needed to make plans accordingly.

Getting the required warrant and then banging on the door of Robin would take quite a bit of time so they would have to wait until late in the night to have Robin under custody.

7 pm.

Due to the raid's anticipated late hour and his desire to receive a true update on Robin and Myrene's status, Buckley made the decision to spend the night at Frayer's house.

At the very least, that was the plan. There were just 3 people remained in the house because the maids had already left for the day. The three were chatting about different topics while seated in the main living area when all of a sudden the lights in the space were turned out. Given that this had never happened before, the woman nearly jumped out of her skin when she saw the lights go out.

But after a brief period, it returned. However, it wasn't just the lights that returned. The woman, Frayer, and Buckley noticed three people standing in the living room and staring at them along with lights.

One man, two women.

One woman was holding a scythe and other holding a huge broadsword.
