Along with Sauvik, Robin was now in Syria. He was here because the terrorists from almost all parts of the world have come here. Syria had been a disturbed country for a long time so when the hell broke lose and North Kora started taking down any kind of organizations or militia that had been actively taking innocent lives and all kinds of illegal activities.
Therefore, many international criminals have made the decision to travel to Syria during the past several days and prepare for their last stand. Even though all of these militia organizations had earlier engaged in conflict and bloodshed for resources, it was gratifying to see them band together to establish partnerships. Of course, some of them were in close contact with one another.
Robin and Sauvik had arrived to evict them permanently. Sauvik, who was obviously just an ordinary person, had put a Ranger javelin on and was actively engaged in eliminating the bad guys.
"This location is stunning. Sad that it is destroyed." As he and Robin were on the outskirts of the city of Idlib, Savik said over the communications. Idlib was just one of the cities on the Western side of the nation that the militia had taken control of.
"The country isn't wholly to blame. US and NATO sanctions have fueled extremist movements on both sides of the nation. Both the US and Russia would never leave the country since it provides Russia with an excellent platform from which to control the Black Sea and its passage." Robin answered.
"But now we have a chance to take them down." Sauvik said.
"Yeah. Are you ready to see blood?" Robin enquired.
"You have killed so many and taken the burden alone. Please allow me to see if I can contribute as well." said Sauvik. Without responding, Robin simply grinned from beneath the Blue Beetle outfit. Robin had never before used all of his strength in any situation. His Blue Beetle outfit, his dragon shouts, or any of his spells for that matter, were never fully employed.
And the city had offered him the ideal setting to practice the magical and technical abilities he acquired during the previous year. The Ohm bots on land and the Nod units followed him as he flew from the outskirts of the city to its core. Since the city also contained innocent civilians, there was no justification for bombing the entire population, and he had specifically instructed the troops to fire sparingly.
Robin made the decision to launch an attack from the center while Sauvik proceeded to the opposite side of the city. The largest square in the city was where Robin landed. Everyone in the city could hear that something had just broken the sound barrier extremely close to the city as the armored figure swooped into the sky, shocking everyone with their very existence. The terrorists with weapons hurried and started searching around to see what had created such a huge sound to break the glass panes in the surroundings.
They had been living in fear for the last few days and this just made their fear more resounding. Aoto took the wand in his hand and kept the edge of the wand on his neck and spoke.
"Attention, you deluded terrorists who dare to hold this city captive in your malevolent grasp. I stand before you to shatter your feeble dreams of tyranny and sow the seeds of your demise. Listen well, for this is your final warning.
You have chosen a path stained with the blood of the innocent, your actions etching scars upon the heart of this city. But mark my words, your reign of terror ends here and now. You may cower behind your barricades, blinded by false bravado, but know that they offer you no sanctuary. Your time is running out, and the choice before you is simple: surrender or face the full extent of my wrath."
Aoto used all his learned literature in a single go and his words were heard by almost all of the inhabitants of the city. Surprisingly, everyone who heard it could understand his English because it was said loudly and clearly. Sometimes communicating with the opposing side needed no use of language.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
There was total stillness. After the militia gained control, most people had already left the streets, and after Robin threatened, any commotion that had been audible among the structures and homes came to an abrupt halt. After waiting for five minutes, nobody appeared. The silence continued.
"DUR NEH VIR"
The skies darkened and the very fabric of reality trembled. A huge magical purple colored circle appeared near Robin and the doors of the ethereal realm were opened for the first time. Never before in known mankind had the doors that lead the souls away were opened. A resplendent being answered the call, Durnehviir, the ancient undead dragon.
Towering above all, his skeletal form was adorned with tattered, decaying flesh, while jagged bones jut forth from his wings. Ebony scales, etched with arcane runes, shimmered with a ghostly hue, pulsating with ancient power. Eyes blazing with malevolence, his gaze could easily pierce the souls of those who dared to stand against him. A sickly green aura enveloped him, emanating a foul presence that reeked of death and decay. As he spread his wings, the chilling wind howls, heralding the approach of an ageless terror. With each movement, the ground quaked, and his bellow echoes through the realm, striking fear into the hearts of mortals.
When Robin summoned the dead dragon, few people were in their homes or in close proximity to the square. In fact, when he had learned of this shout he had wanted to see if it was possible to call the dragon but restrained himself at that time. Even if it was possible to call the dead dragon back to reality, he remained unsure. But seeing the huge figure in front of him, he knew that he might have just broken the reality in a way which even he didn't know.
As Robin's eyes beheld the majestic form of the dead dragon, a surge of awe and wonder washed over him, tinged with a hint of primal fear. His heart raced in his chest, caught in the the mesmerizing allure of the creature before him.
This dragon was a proof enough that other dimensions existed apart from the known single dimension they lived, which in technical terms meant that they were living in a multiverse and he might have just opened the Pandora's box here.
Many of the witnesses to the dragon emerging from the ethereal realm passed unconscious. These were ordinary folks, so seeing the ethereal realm up close was enough to cloud their judgment and cause a complete brain shutdown. However, those who were able to withstand the dragon's and the ethereal realm's intimidation weren't faring any better. They felt as if every fear they had ever harbored, every dread they had ever imagined, manifested before their eyes in a cruel convergence of nightmares made real. Their palms were sweaty and knees heavy, wait those are Emniem's lines.
"Dragonborn.. I have heard your call... Eh! this isn't Tamriel.. Why is there no mana here?.. Dragonborn where did you just call me?"
The dragon snarled, but Robin could make out every word. Even though he felt uncomfortable, he knew he had to tell the truth. The half truth, at least.
"Drunehvir, I'm sorry for calling you at such an unexpected time and place. I am the Dragonborn of this place, and I required your assistance. There is no magic here, hence there is no mana." said Robin. Durnehvir turned to stare at Robin's sparkling eyes, but he was aware that the dead dragon was checking to see whether the man truly was a dragonborn.
"Hmm, this place is really filthy. Dragonborn even birthed in this place which reeks of contamination? Perhaps the forefathers had it right. More dimensions existed than we could ever fully comprehend. " The slain dragon gave a deep, audible growl, which Robin plainly heard.
"Durnehvir, can you help me in freeing this city?" Robin enquired. He wanted to discuss what he had previously mumbled with him, but this wasn't the right time.
"Dragonborn, I made a commitment to always heed your call, and I'm here to keep that promise. Whose soul must I gather, whose blood must I bathe in?"
"Umm.. The city has been overrun by some terrible men who are wreaking destruction. You are free to take them out, I mean, kill them. However, some of them are innocents. Do spare them, please." said Robin.
"Innocents? When did the Dragonborn start to care about the helpless?" The dragon snarled as air packed with dust was pushed out of the plaza by the dragon's slight movement.
"Uh.." Robin felt uncomfortable. He finally got the retribution for killing innocents in the game in his own free time. He cursed under his breath for indulging himself in that fun.
"Fear not. Since you want the innocents to live, I will abide by it." After saying that Durnehvir immediately began flapping his wings. Due to the force of the wings, dust, plastic, and newspapers were scattered all over the place. He shouted loudly and flew high in a matter of seconds.
