"How did he even get such dangerous contacts?"
"Sir, he has connections with some high level people all across the globe. Do you want me to spell out their names sir?"
"No, it's useless and I will end up forgetting the names. Will take care of them when the time comes."
"Sir, do you want me to buy them out so that they wouldn't hurt your time?"
"No, we will go there and take care of it ourselves. Don't you think so... master...?" Sigret and Myrene who had been playing with Haunter at the side spoke up. The moment Sigret said the words 'master' it sent a chill through his spine.
Sigret still used that word whenever she wanted to annoy him. Once Robin refused to pay for the clothes and she called him master and got her way with him. Of course Sigret could pay for the clothes by herself as she was an advanced AI by herself but for some reason she came to Robin to pay for her clothes.
This term of calling him 'master' was her way of getting what she wanted.
"What evil things are you plotting, Sigret?"
"I am not planning anything." Sigret said with a very innocent tone.
"JARVIS, what is she aiming it?"
"Going by the standards of Miss Sigret, there is a high probability that she wants to take care of the thugs that are aiming at your explorations team. Some of the thugs have committed murder in the past, some have history of brutal torture, while rape and domestic violence are common among the small team of 12 people."
Robin stiffened when JARVIS said that. When JARVIS spoke of thugs, he thought that these people were common criminals and they could be easily bought off and it would have been the end of the matter.
But it went more deep than he thought. It hadn't even been a month since Sigret killed those people and now Robin was again in the crossroads. Sigret mentioned of going to the place because she wanted to go and kill these people.
And another reason was that she wanted was him to dip his hands in blood. He had been training regularly for the past few weeks and it was time for the actual show. Of course, his training had nothing to do with actual combat and he could easily kill them or intimidate them with just a few words. But Sigret definitely wanted Robin to go to actual mission.
"You want to go and kill them and also involve us? Isn't that a bit risky?"
"No, it would be fine. I am pretty sure that there are plenty of things in your precious games that could make us reach there and we can carry out the mission. You will also get to see the battlefield. And then you will be a man."
"I don't need to kill people to be a man. That is just cold blooded murder."
"Oh but you didn't say anything when I killed those scums."
"That is different. They deserved it."
"Fine, then don't kill them but you need to be at the spot. You speak of space exploration, that demands of a good commander. The things you bring will always be loyal to you but you need to be a commander and that requires you to be on the front lines. If there are aliens in the universe, you will have to command your armies to fight for you and loyalty can only take you so far." Sigret went into lecture mode just like the times when she and Myrene trained him.
The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.
"You want to make me a homicidal maniac?"
"Some 100 years ago doing the same thing would earned you a medal. It all depends on perspective. "
"We are not living 100 years in the past."
"You just think that. If you have seen the world from my perspective, you will know that world hasn't changed a bit. It's just that the things are happening behind the scenes and in a more hidden way."
Robin sighed. The knowledge he had of people who stood on the top always came with the stamp of killing countless people. When he thought of dominating the world he had already decided to follow the most peaceful way possible, but even then he would be responsible for killing many people, whose number could already make him look like someone who would easily be termed as a serial killer.
But there was no around it. He had been avoiding this truth for sometime but now it was almost time to take matters into his own hands. Even if he avoided this for the current time, he would still have to make his hands dirty in the future. There was no avoiding it.
"Fine fine... You win.." Robin said as his voice became heavy. Today was supposed to be a jolly time, but all of this ruined in matter of few minutes.
"JARVIS what are the thugs planning?"
"As of right now, Dr. Livingstone had ordered them to destroy the exploration and research equipment. And in the words of Doctor, he wants them to 'rough them up a bit'. Statistically speaking, the team would probably face some torture from these 12 men. They wouldn't dare to go beyond that because the exploration teams belong to Western nations and the Egyptian government wouldn't leave the criminals out in the open if there is any bad stain on their country."
"At least they are not in danger."
"Are we going?" Myrene intervened as she too seemed to be a little excited thinking that she would thrown into action after such a long time. Robin just looked at the ceiling and many thoughts revolved in his head. He would have to make sure that no fingers were pointed at him and he would need to bring many items to make sure he was safe.
"Alright we will go."
"Yaay.."
"Yipee.."
Both of the girls seemed extremely excited by the thought of making people suffer. What was wrong with these two? But Robin didn't call him out on that and just let them be.
"After Christmas we will carry out the mission. I don't want to kill the festive mood." Myrene and Sigret both nodded their heads as they didn't mind the wait. Later Myrene and Sigret went to make some food for the night while JARVIS showed Robin the schematics of the place where they would have to go. It would be easy anyways but Robin still wanted to have a look at the place that they would be attacking in two nights.
After dinner, they started to decorate the Christmas tree as Myrene wanted to decorate one in their place. Of course it was very easy for the girls and Robin struggled a bit with decoration as he had never done this before.
"You never decorated your home during Diwali?"
"That decoration didn't need to put lights and other things on a tree. It was done just on the balconies and the door. That didn't require mastery."
Robin and Sigret were having a small banter as usual while Myrene helped in the decoration. Finally after an hour of decoration, the tree lit up. Haunter also helped them in this and Sigret wanted to dance a bit so she she invited Myrene. Myrene was shy at first but then accepted.
A slow music was played in the background while Myrene and Sigret danced like a couple. Robin just looked at their dance and felt happy. Though their mood was ruined for a bit, it didn't stop him to enjoy these small moments. He didn't know that with the changes in his lifestyle, his thoughts were also changing with the passing times.
Sigret even invited Robin for a dance but he denied. He had never danced before in his life and he was too shy to dance in front of these two who seemed to learn everything in the blink of an eye. It was infuriating for him as a human being.
Sunday, 25th December
The next day everyone woke up a little late and then everyone got busy with exchanging gifts. Robin gave both of the girls tow lightsabers from a Star Wars game. He had thought a lot about it and decided to give them the most iconic virtual weapon known to men in modern times.
Haunter would get the gift the evolution once they were on a safe place. It had been sometime that Haunter had been around in this form and it was time to reach the final evolution known as Gengar.
Gengar was more powerful and could hide the shadows of a person making it a silent hunter and on the prowl always. Haunter was ecstatic that it would get the chance of evolution again so soon. Sigret and Myrene both gifted him new pairs of clothes for him because apparently he had a very low sense of fashion.
And looking at his wardrobe, he couldn't blame the two girls. He really did have a bad taste in fashion.
