201. Wild West + Gold rush

"Why do you always speak the worst? You know that your predictions have caused me huge difficulties in my life," I complained.

"Hahaha.. What can I say? I was born a prophet," the shopkeeper laughed. I could only roll my eyes. I was pulling a levitating trolley and on it were many different cut rocks. The universe is huge and thus every other species would lack one or other kinds of rocks in their livelihood and use.

It was the logistics that sometimes proved more than the procurement and production. In different parts of the universe I might be paid more handsomely, but here I would be paid by the galaxy-settled price. The universe has a saying: "It doesn't matter how hard you try and achieve, at the end of the day if you are born in the wrong galaxy, you are messed up."

And I could heavily relate to it.

"Oh, so you have quite the haul this time. Did you go and meet your parents and your brothers?" the shopkeeper asked as he helped me unload the rocks on the huge weighing and scanning machine.

"You already know of me. I will meet them on my way back to the ring," I said.

"Sigh! They miss you... Your brother Tonadi...." The shopkeeper kept rambling and I could only nod my head. I miss my parents and family, but it's the best I could do for the damages my unlucky charm had done to them by being away from them.

After putting the things on the scanner, the shopkeeper got busy and started to check the things brought with the help of the machine. Suddenly the numbers on the scanner jumped as the long talk he was having with me stopped.

"Is there anything wrong?" I couldn't help but ask. I am expecting the worst at this point. 'Shit, did I again bring a huge radioactive material?' But the shopkeeper was silent as he seemed to go through the numbers again.

"Cotharin!"

"Just lay it out on me, boss. I can take it. I have seen worse in my life," I lamented as I hung my head. I have probably invited a disaster, and at this point in my life, I didn't even bother to know what I had caused because it will only bring me pain and guilt.

"No... Cotharin... You are going to be rich..." The shopkeeper was heaving and breathing heavily as he said that. I got confused and looked at him.

"You just got Vibranium and 1 gram of it is 10,000 universe credits, not Luminary credits," the shopkeeper said. I couldn't process what he just said.

"And you have 3 kg of it. Hahahah.. You are going to be rich now.. Your bad days are over," the shopkeeper said. My eyes went wide with disbelief because I couldn't make head or tail of it.

What Vibranium? What 10,000 universe credits?

"Are you serious?" I couldn't help but almost shout. The shopkeeper came and put his hand on my mouth to make me shut up.

"What are you doing? Do you want others to know?" The shopkeeper said. This immediately made me self-conscious and I let my excitement drain away from me, or at least from the surface. Inside, I was boiling with adrenaline, if that was even possible. I knew that the shopkeeper wasn't lying.

I immediately took my communicator and searched about Vibranium and it looked exactly like the metal I had randomly found and took.

"How... How much will I get?" I whispered.

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

"All of the money. I will send it over. Damn boy, today you have gotten rich. Take my advice. Save the money and spend it frugally. Your luck might have balanced out today but you never know if it will return to the same. Do you understand what I am saying?"

I could only nod. My life is going to change now forever, but I will have to be careful. All my life I thought that getting money would help me escape from this place, but now when I see my bank account I could only hope that this much money doesn't bring disaster to my family.

Within seconds I sent more than half of the money to my family and messaged them not to contact me for sometime as I would be busy and to use the money for making their own family happy and happier, and this was the least I could do.

With the other half I could buy new equipment, netter spaceship and go into a quest to see if my luck is only good with this Vibranium or was it a one time compensation for my miserable life.

----------------------------------------

A child of about 2 time units was playing in the backyard when a small comet like thing fell on the huge lawn he was playing. His parents were busy at home ding their work while he played. There was no swimming pool or anything like that so he was safe being alone.

The comet fell silently and it only made a small crater, without making much noise, at least not enough for his parents to hear. The child was immediately intrigued and went to touch it but sensing the hot temparature around the stone that fell he back off. Went to bring some water and poured it to make it cool.

The water sizzled and soon it was in normal temperature. The child held the rock after some time and ran with it inside hoping to show the new toy to his parents.

"What is this? Hahaha.. A new rock? It looks beautiful." The mother said and he let the child play with it since she too liked the blue veins on it. The child continued playing until the father came to the room and saw the rock.

He didn't pay heed to the weird toy that his son had brought as his son had a weird liking to odd toys since he had been a baby. But for some reason he felt like he had seen the 'toy' before some where.

This thought bugged him and he went to check the toy. After he turned the toy around, his eyes went wide. Now he knew where he saw it. He saw it on the recent news of how the miners and explorers were hurrying towards the galaxy for finding Vibranium.

Here are the corrected paragraphs:

"Tonu... where did you find it?" The father was shaking when he asked that. This weighed around 50 grams and this rock was enough to set him for life. Mind you, both father and mother were pretty well off where they were living, but this rock was more valuable than all his savings put together, including what his ancestors had acquired over the years.

The kid got scared a bit and pointed to the lawn. The father ran out and noticed the crater. He could understand what had happened. Meteor showers were common here, since this planet wasn't like Earth and wasn't protected by Jupiter.

There was an artificial cleanser for huge meteorites, so small ones would slip by and fall on their planet. It was a bit dangerous living on the planet, as one of the other small meteorites could actually kill someone, but it had the same probability of killing someone via earthquakes or other natural disasters.

"We are going to be rich... We will not have to work anymore... We can be on vacation mode our whole life... Hahahaha..."

----------------------------------------

Such scenes were happening in one part of the galaxy as Artanis had sent Vibranium over, and thus it was getting spread all over a part of the galaxy. Since it was a rock in space and floating around, it was showing up to people in very weird ways. People were getting excited all over it.

One such rock struck a huge space station and almost destroyed it. The space station was small, and they didn't see it coming as the sensors were not calibrated to detect this new kind of metal. Thankfully, nobody died.

One meteorite fell on a couple who were being intimate, and it scared them as it went straight through the wall of their apartment, which was at least 200 floors high in the air. In fear, they ran out, and the neighbors came out to see what the huge noise was about.

Apparently, they were cheating, and the Vibranium just exposed their unfaithful behavior to everyone present, since the neighbors knew who the husband's wife was. It was a huge scandal, and someone just stole the rock after it fell, since the thief recognized what it was once he laid his eyes on it. Suffice to say, the thief became rich within seconds.

The economy of the part of the galaxy went into chaos mode once Vibranium showed up, and it also led to more crimes, as people from across galaxies had started pouring in. It was like the Wild West here, and the police were struggling.

The Luminary Collective had to send the military to take control and also see if they could find some Vibranium, thus helping the treasury.
