Robin was a little tired after the journey so after having his dinner he went to rest. Talked with his parents about reaching safely and just opened his laptop to play some games before he went to sleep.
Tuesday, 15th November
Today was the day for the first interview and Robin went to the embassy. He booked an Uber and went straight to the embassy. The queue wasn't long and he finally entered for the interview session after half an hour of waiting. Since he was on the top tier of applying for a Visa application, the interview was short and just asked what kind of business he was thinking of establishing.
Since it was just Japan and he didn't have any immediate plans, JARVIS had advised Robin to speak about opening restaurants. The interviewer seemed happy to know about his plans and said he would be cleared for VISA in 24 hours since he already had the medical results.
The process was short and precise with no bullshit, the Japanese people were really efficient and Robin was free by afternoon. In Kolkata, he did have one cousin but he wasn't exactly close with them and he didn't want to go and bother them, so he just decided to roam around and eat some food.
By evening he returned after eating a sumptuous meal.
"Sir, the person with your Centurion Card will arrive tomorrow evening to provide you with their credit card."
"Oh here? You booked the appointment here?"
"Yes sir. Since it is a metropolitan city, they were ready to provide you here. If you want you can make the appointment in the Netherlands."
"No. Here is fine."
"Okay sir."
The next day was international licence day for Robin and it was really an annoying day for him. In India, the driving licence tests in many places were not as strict as other countries. Though it wasn't the same in metropolitan cities, personally Robin didn't find any difficulties in passing the license test when he gave his first test a few years ago.
But here it was different. Questions were asked, scenarios were provided to acquire the proper reaction from a person who was appearing for the test and most importantly he had to pass the driving test in flying colors.
This took almost 5 hours and Robin almost wanted to curse. But he could also understand that it was required. The international standards were always a little different as compared to India. By the time he was done it was late in the afternoon so after having lunch in a restaurant he retruned to his room.
By evening the person responsible for ID verification arrived in a proper suit and pants. The person seemed like he was a proper professional and gave the vibe that he knew his shit.
"I am Antonio Pallikal. Here for the verification sir."
"Hello, I am Robin. Welcome Mr. Pallikal."
They both sat at the table while he brought out many documents from his small black suitcase that he had carried inside. Gastly was floating invisibly near because this was the person Robin had interacted with which he didn't recognize from before. Though JARVIS had assured that the person was authentic, Gastly only trusted his instincts and the first instruction given to him to protect his trainer.
Robin just smiled at the protective nature of his Pokemon but didn't stop his Pokemon.
At first he went through the identity documents and asked about his ancestry or if he had any connections to other wealthy people. Of course, Robin denied as he didn't want to lie nor was it needed to lie here.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
After a routine check, Pallikal handed the famous black Centurion Credit Card and said
"This is your card and will be activated in the next 4 hours. You can use this to pay in all shops which support card payment and since it is India, the card has an exclusive deal with the government to pay digitally too. But such facilities wouldn't be possible outside and can only use the card to pay or in cash. The bank also provides exclusive 24x7 throughout the year to its customers. Last minute flight bookings, last minute hotel booking and even emergency evacuation in the most remote places. Of course all of these services have to be paid for later but we do provide the best support and help our renowned customers. Now sir, do you want us to invest your money in any stocks or any of that sort. Our bank supports consulting services too."
"No, I just want to have this account in the bank and use the money for daily purposes. I don't want the money to move around." Robin refused. He just wanted to spend money and spend it on luxury. Pallikal looked a little disappointed with the answer but he didn't push any more. Customers such as Robin who were both young and had money were rare in the country and the bank didn't want to lose a customer just because one agent got greedy.
Any blot or stain on any agent would not only make him get fired from the job but also make his life hell later. So it was better to be safe and cautious when one dealt with high end clients.
After signing some documents he got all the things that came with the credit card which had his own name on it. Pallikal stayed there for half an hour explaining the details and left. Robin was too tired with all the meetings with different people in a span of two days.
Meeting with strangers was always a little awkward for him but there was nothing he could do. He had already started the journey and there was no going back. He would have to get used to it. After playing with Gastly for a but, he slept.
Tuesday 22nd November.
The last few days had been hectic for Robin. Running to 3 different embassies and particularly the American Embassy was quite the headache for Robin. Though he applied for the highest visa and he had all the documents in order, they asked for a two day interview. Robin was a little annoyed by this and there was nothing he could do.
America didn't have a permanent ambassador to India and each one only had a term of 22 months here so it could be understood that India wasn't at the highest priority as it came to foreign relations. Though it wasn't hostile, America definitely didn't want to cosy up to India and this attitude was shown in the lower orders too.
But it wasn't totally unproductive for Robin. He had consumed another skill book from Skyrim. This time he didn't go for a skill book for archery but rather a Sneak skill book. This didn't actively impact his body but did impact his way of walking and looking at the world. He could feel that now he was more cautious and more organised than he was.
His walking style had changed by a lot and he always kept an eye for an escape. It was as if his warrior instincts had awakened and everyone was the prey. All of this came naturally to Robin. Of course Robin was happy to see these changes and he had decided to consume one skill book every week so as to make sure his body wouldn't be exhausted by constant skill consumption. Though he had the fountain of youth he didn't want to take any risks.
Not anymore.
Today was the day to leave his country and JARVIS had done this in the most luxurious style possible. JARVIS booked a private jet service from Kolkata to Amsterdam. Robin reached the airport at 12 pm in order to board the flight. It was there he first experienced how the rich really lived their life.
The service was booked from a private company named Jetex and they provided the service that he couldn't even imagine. The moment he had checked in, his phone rang.
"Is this Mr. Robin Kashyap?"
"Yes, speaking."
"Sir, can you please come to the VIP lounge?"
"Sure."
Robin then proceeded to get to the VIP lounge where he got to see two beautiful air hostesses standing in the door. Both were wearing a orange colored georgette shirt tucked inside the same colored skirt that reached their knees with black stockings and blue colored pumped shoes.
Both of them didn't have excessive makeup and their natural beauty was good enough for them to avoid heavy makeup. Robin was sure it was them because they had the label of Jetex on their shirt.
And like Robin, they also seemed to recognize him as their customer.
"Mr. Kashyap?"
"Yes."
"Welcome to Jetex. Boarding is in half an hour. Until then you can order anything in this lounge."
"No, I am fine."
The two women looked professional and Robin for the first time saw how the rich people were treated. It was an exclusive service for only himself and no other person. After a half hour wait, it was finally time for boarding and the two air- hostess personally led him on a golf cart to the plane.
