210. The great filter theory

210. The great filter theory

"The signal that you are talking off. Was it from sent from Earth?"

"Yes. Of course, even your Supreme Leader of North Korea has admitted that there was a traitor who called us." Lumis replied. This sent a sensation to the whole of the audience. They didn't expect a snake from their own race who wanted to destroy their own species. This was vindictiveness of the highest level. Even the presenter was woman when she realized what was going on.

She didn't know if she should say sorry or be ashamed. And Lumis handled it perfectly next.

"But we did learn a lesson. we learnt to never look down on any singular planet even if we are under the rule of the empire. In addition, I have a feeling that the discovery of the humans will be very important to the galaxy. Your Supreme Leader is also a High Elder and that is the best thing that could happen to the humans who are about to take interstellar travel and exploration." Lumis said. The woman sighed in huge relief when he saw Lumis changing the subject from a dark point to a very different topic.

"You have spoken of the empire and the High Elder. Can you please elaborate?" The woman asked. Lumis then went on to explain the tiers of the galaxy and how vast the universe was in a broader sense. How their galaxy was just a dust in the whole scheme and the planets were lesser than dust. At the end he spoke of High Elder and how humans already had one in the form of Supreme Leader.

The humans around the world were taken aback but when they thought about it, it made perfect sense. The Supreme Leader rose up from nowhere and became a powerful being within no time and took the reins of humanity in his own hands.

Though it was much of a hands off attitude at least he was good to them and help humanity stand on their own feet. But now that they came to know of the greatness of the Supreme Leader maybe they would be under his protective shadow for a long time.

The future seemed bright at this point. The woman then went on to ask how his planet was and what was their history. Lumis spoke of their bloody battles they had endured before they went on to be accepted by the Luminary Collective and be accepted. And Lumis also spoke of the arrangement between humanity and them due to the fact that the Supreme Leader was a High Elder.

Here are the corrected paragraphs:

It was a great conversation and everyone got to see the whole interview live. But it had to be said that the whole interview wasn't just a bed of roses. Lumis did get shamed for his actions, and he acknowledged his wrongdoings. Now that Earth and Zora were tied together, he promised to mend the bridges.

"In the universe, what are the things that humanity should be afraid of?" The woman asked.

"It's basically the empire and some pirates who venture between galaxies. The distance between galaxies is too large for empires to have proper security, and thus the era is also the age of pirates. Thus, trading in the universe is both a lucrative business and also a dangerous one," Lumis replied. "And there are some fringe elements, of course. Some are just brainwashed to the core and follow some weird religions across the universe. The most radical and prominent religion is the 'Great Wall' religion."

"Great Wall religion? What is that?" The woman asked as she was intrigued by the mention.

"Are you sure you want the general population of the world to know? It might scare some people away," Lumis asked. The woman hesitated a bit and from the corner of her eye, looked at the supervisor who gave her the green signal.

"Humanity will have to face the universe one way or the other in the coming future. We can't be ignorant as we once were. Mr. Zora, we would like to know about this religion."

"You know of the Great Filter, right? The Great Filter is the theory that an advanced species might be on either side of the filter. The filter being the huge technological leap that one species needed to take to get into interstellar level. Though the theory is much more complex than that and goes both ways, for this discussion I will concentrate on this part. The Great Wall is a religion that is spread in different galaxies and mostly surrounds the 3rd class galaxies. They hunt down planets and species that are close to reaching the Great Filter and proceed to destroy the planet entirely. Sometimes, even if the planet has crossed the Great Filter, they act as judge and execute the whole planet since they think that the inclusion of new sub-species will just deplete the wealth of the universe. That is quite the radical religion," Lumis said.

This made many of the people around a bit panicked. Destroy the planet? Those were the things that only happened in fantasy, and now they were hearing that this was something real. But the universe was large where interstellar travel was possible. Blowing up a planet didn't really seem like a big thing.

Humans always wanted to live in a science fiction world. Now that it was here, they might have to face the corresponding dangers too.

"The empires don't do anything about it?"

"They do, but you have to understand, some empires fund them too in order to make the other empires weaken. Religion is just a small part of it; politics is the greater part," Lumis said.

Many people cursed under their breath when they heard it. The woman was more curious and asked more about it. Lumis himself wasn't knowledgeable as it involved galactic empires and most of the witnesses were just murdered in the form of genocide.

This was a spine chilling revelation. Though it did discourage some of the humans listening to the interview, to some high risk takers this was an avenue. Lumis spoke more about the universe as best as he could and the interview went on for around 2 hours before ending. The woman genuinely seemed happy and thanked him in behalf of humanity.

Lumis too appreciated the respect he got even though he was the invader in the first place. After the interview was done Lumis went back to his huge hotel and stayed for the night. The next day he left for USA for other business deals.

Lumis wasn't done with just the Warhammer 40k. He went on to deal with every studio and chalked up a partnership deal. The humans like them were in awe that an alien was much interested in games than other kinds of deals and Lumis had told them of the truth of the universe as he had seen how bland the games in VR were and how humans had much better games than he had ever seen in his life.

Many of people came to know of the deals that was being done by Lumis and the gaming world. Meanwhile, North Korea had announced the world that a new kind of currency would be introduced that would work in all countries. Each and every country from now would be able to trade in three kind of currencies.

One was the local.

Another was the planet currency.

And the last was one was the galactic credits.

In order for people to not getting themselves confused the price of a currency wouldn't change for two weeks. This was a whole new system to be applied and most of the economists said that it wasn't viable at all but Supreme Leader only said one sentence.

"I don't care if it is not viable. Make it work or else the economy of Earth would just go to shit once the galactic credits come to flow in."

There was no going against this announcement. It was an order not a negotiation. Lumis stayed on Earth for more than a month before leaving. But before he left he took away may humans. Most of them were now his business partners and in order to make the partnership official, they needed to settle it on the universal scale and make sure that it was done right. Lumis wanted to make this right because this was their ticket to make a splash in the universe and make his own citizens happy.

Robins bank account was actually getting fatter and fatter with universal credits as Vibranum was getting sold but for the time being it was just waste as he couldn't spend it on Earth. But on the universe he would be able to buy many things with this. In one month the communicator was finally up for the solar system, and for the first time there was a direct no delay contact from this side of the galaxy and the rest.
