139. You can't reach the stars so shut up

"Supreme Commander, the Russian President had gotten away. He traveled to space on an extraterrestrial jet and used an FTL (faster than light) engine to disappear into the stars." Robin was completely taken aback by what he read because he had been anticipating something else. The founder of Novus, who had been in charge of overseeing and investigating any extraterrestrial movements that could occur close to the solar system, was the one who issued this notification.

The Founder's major focus had always been space, even though he was keeping an eye on events on Earth, such as troop allocation and who would join which regiment and team. The Founder was more adept at observing action that was out of step with the current technology since he had dealt with the Hierarchy for more than half of his life.

"How in the world did the Russian President come into possession of an alien spacecraft? And now, where is he?" Robin who was ready to give advice to Sauvik about how to cope with the kills , seemed like he himself needed some dose of 'copium' at the moment.

After learning the news, he was surprised, indignant, and confused. Among world leaders, the Russian President's record included one of the worst crimes. He shared the same level as some of the worst criminals alive right now. Given all the wrongdoing he had committed over the years, Robin was more than happy to put him in jail and then simply execute him. Manipulating polls, forcing his people to work for the country—which in turn meant the wealthy oligarchs and himself—dealing harshly with any protests, led by people and even the children, killing thousands of people with his wars in Syria and other nations, and of course, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, which was essentially his ego at work. (this is just my personal opinion, politics is much more complicated. Don't take it seriously)

Robin understood that he needed to be patient or else many of the procedures may fall through. Any other individual would have been executed for the crimes instantly. Many national tasks would be at peril if someone like the Russian President abruptly left office. The AIs at least stated as much.

It would be a little challenging to deal with if North Korea invaded Russia in the same way that Venezuela, Iran, and Brunei did because the Russian President still enjoyed a lot of popular support in the nation. North Korea didn't want to add any more innocent people to the list of people it was already difficult to avoid killing after they had been brainwashed.

"Supreme Commander, the Ghost Corps that had been pursuing and watching him failed to halt him. In one of the most distant cities on Earth, he had the spaceship hidden beneath a factory that had been constructed when he arrived in the political scene. I immediately told Miss Sigret about the news, and she promptly used the "teleporter" to travel to Norilsk, the city where the Russian President had gone. Miss Sigret approached the ship and engaged it with the weaponry she had at her disposal. But the spacecraft appeared to be covered by a shield, and soon it was in the thermosphere. The spacecraft had FTL technology, something we weren't expecting, and it disappeared into the galaxy."

When Robin received the summary of the report detailing what had occurred, his brows furrowed.

Robin said, "Send Sigret over."

While listening to Robin's statements, Sauvik, who was feeling a little sad, also noted that Robin had gotten a call that seemed out of the ordinary.

"What happened?" you ask.

"The President of Russia escaped."

"Oh! We have the tools to track him down." Sauvik was unconcerned at all.

"No. He made off at FTL speed." said Robin. Sauvik was taken aback by this. In order to determine whether Robin was joking, he turned his titanium helmet to face him.

This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.

"Where the fuck did he get an FTL spaceship? It doesn't exist on Earth. Even you haven't built a spacecraft like that."

"Most likely, he had been concealing the spacecraft all along and had since flown it up." Like Sauvik, Robin was a little taken aback. He had anticipated that the ancient civilizations would have some sort of relationship to the extraterrestrials because more recent digs have demonstrated this.

After a short while, the TARDIS materialized in front of them, and Sigret emerged from it. As soon as she emerged, she was on her knees and facing Robin with her head bowed.

"Master, I apologize for being so useless in my inability to prevent the scumbag from escaping. If the Master wants to chastise me, I will take it." Sigret spoke in a very quiet tone. Sigret may occasionally be very flirtatious and patronizing to Robin, but she has always been aware of her place, respected Robin's judgment at all times, and accepted responsibility when she made a mistake.

Last time it was with Lydia and now this.

"It's fine, Sigret. I heard you gave it your best shot." said Robin. When Sigret acted in this way, Sauvik found it amusing. Even though he was aware that he had created everything, it was certainly novel to have everyone bow down to him as though he were some sort of deity.

"Do we have a lock on his flight path?" Robin was more worried with the recently escaped man. He didn't care about the impending invasion, but he was upset that the escapee had imagined he would be safe. Even if he made it to the far reaches of the universe, he had to be held to account.

"We simply have a vague idea of the direction, which is very broad. We don't know how old the spacecraft is or how much power it has to travel how far. Although we can begin looking for him, it might take years to locate him. If he is still in this galaxy, it will take us almost ten years to locate him, but if he has left the Milky Way, it will take much longer. Long enough for him to die before we can find him."

"Hmm.. I will create new technology soon and will assign a team which will start the search. You and Founder must keep doing what you are already doing." said Robin. Sigret or Founder were not needed for this search job.

It was a tall order to ask Founder to look locate a needle that had dropped into the literal cosmos because Novus could only teleport from one place in the universe to another and they lacked adequate starship technology. Actually, erase that. At least, a needle in haystack could be searched using magnet.

Here they couldn't.

Durnehvir had swooped down and landed close to Robin and the others as they were conversing. There were Nod men with gears standing next to Robin. All of them, including Sauvik, trembled in their feet as they saw the huge dead dragon land.

Upon landing, Durnehvir peered at Robin's 'subordinates' with his soulless eyes. The Nod army was able to move freely even under Durnehvir's watch because he was a summon of Robin and could always distinguish who was an ally and who was an enemy, but that didn't mean that those around him weren't terrified of him.

One look at his unsettling, soulless eyes was enough to drive someone wild. After giving a quick glance, Durnehvir said

"Dragonborn.. You appear to be really agitated right now. Have any cockroaches gotten out of here? Tell me to which direction it had went. I'd like having a single small mouse to play with. These weasels are not even enough to fit my teeth. Have your subordinates failed in their duties? Why is it that this woman merely possesses flesh and no soul?"

Durnehvir words echoed the from of Thu'um. Only Robin could understand what the dragon was saying, and the others were desperately trying to avoid being overwhelmed by Durnehvir's speech. Remember that Thu'um, if the right words were spoken, could literally murder people. They got the impression from his final statements that he was upset with them and would want to teach them a lesson.

"No.. I appreciate your concern. There is one escapee but we can't catch him. At least not right now." The dragon was calmed by Robin. This was a wild boar that, if not restrained by a leash, could bite anyone.

"There is no one I can't catch. I can even reach the depths of the ethereal world to remove the sinner's nails." Durnehvir proclaimed, seemingly angry that he was been looked down upon by the Dragonborn.

"The person has escaped into the stars that you see in the dark, clear night upon the sky."

A starry night? Can a person in this world reach the stars? Durnehvir was shocked by Robin's remarks. The dragons had previously made attempts to travel to the sun and the stars, but they had failed and perished. He had heard it from the legends, at least.

However, these tiny humans were able to reach the stars. Even the dragons were unable to complete it.
