75. Eating The Defective Philosopher's Stone

When Lily came back Fergus, Camelia and Violet were sitting in the living room talking to each other. When they saw her, they looked at her.

“Welcome back Mistress.” Violet said.

Lily sat down by them, and Camelia got up and made tea for them all together.

Lily looked at the Philosopher's Stone and looked at Fergus and asked, "What's the difference between having eternal life and not since I'm soul bound to an obelisk."

"Every time you die, a part of your soul disappears and never comes back. If you have eternal life, you can buy your lost soul parts from the 5 soul lords.” Fergus replied.

The 5 soul lords?

Lily thought Hades was responsible for the souls of the dead, but that was only in Greek mythology. Why was she suddenly reminded of the sneaky deities who had taken advantage of her through the system. She was reminded of the history classes where in the old days you could pay to avoid going to purgatory when you died, and the 5 soul lords sounded a bit of the same.

"I assume you don't pay in gold." she said.

"Correct. It’s different what you have to pay with, but it must be something that they can use. Think of it as a kind of trade. Something for something." said Fergus.

Suddenly something important dawned on Lily as she repeated the words 'soul parts' in her head.

"Fuck, I'll be stupid if I lose pieces of my soul." she said, panicking.

"It takes time, so don't worry." said Fergus.

She looked at the Philosopher's Stone and asked, "How does it work?"

"You swallow it." replied the system.

She had never swallowed a rock before and didn't know if you should use water for it. She took out the stone and put it in her mouth and drank her tea and sank quickly because she hated taking pills in general. She suddenly felt something burning hot and her body began to sweat badly. She took off her cloak, shoes and tights and was about to take off her dress when she found herself surrounded by people.

Fergus stared at her in confusion with blushed cheeks.

He cleared his throat and asked, "What are you up to?"

Even though he had Camelia in his heart, he still wanted to see Lily's naked body if she was about to strip in front of him. It wasn't every day you got to see the naked body of a goddess and he wasn't going to miss it.

Lily cleared her throat and said, "I feel hot."

Camelia sat down next to her and put a hand on her forehead and said, “Do you have a fever? What did you eat a moment ago?”

"A defective Philosopher's Stone." Lily replied, choosing to be honest.

Fergus got angry and scolded her, “Why are you so desperate for eternal life when I already told you it takes time. Something like that can kill you in the future if you are alone.”

Lily didn't feel guilty because it was true that she was desperate for eternal life as she still hadn't forgotten the time she died with her sister. She planned to find a method in the future where she could revive her or travel back in time and find her. Since it was now a magical world anything was possible, or it should be.

Fergus stood up and walked over to her and scooped her up in his arms saying, “You need to rest. Why did you eat it even though you knew it was defective.”

He carried her into the bedroom and put the covers over her. He looked at her and shook his head and sat down on a chair at a table next to the bed. Camelia and Violet had also sat down at the table.

"Thanks." Lily said, closing her eyes.

When Lily woke up, she sat up in bed and saw that Camelia was sleeping in the bed next to her. She smiled because it meant they had been worried about her health.

"Camellia. Wake up." she said in a gentle voice.

Camelia opened her eyes and rubbed them, looking at her.

" Mistress. " You are awake.” she said, sitting up.

"How long have I been sleeping?" Lily asked because she had no sense of time.

"It has just become evening." Camelia replied.

Since Lily was in Kahrlin she wanted to experience the city life when she was an adult and Camelia and Violet definitely wanted to experience it too. She looked in her inventory and saw that the system had normal clothes that were not class based.

As she was about to take something out at random but was reminded that charm was important in this world in case she ran into an annoying person. She looked at the chair to the right of the bed and saw Aphrodite's Cocktail Dress and put it on.

"Does the effect of the dress still work even if I'm not wearing the whole set?" she asked as she wanted to wear boots as it was getting colder.

"No, it's a 50% chance." replied the system.

Lily was betting that the 50% chance would work when she needed it.

She looked at Camelia and said, "Come on, we're going out on the town today."

When they came out into the living room Fergus and Violet were sitting on the couch talking. When they saw her, they breathed a sigh of relief and smiled at her.

"Let's eat outside even though I don't have much gold." Lily said.

She put on Ace's cloak, and they got ready and went outside. Standing by Jun De, she wondered how he could sleep outside in the cold at night, but he didn't complain so he must have some magical way of keeping warm. Since he didn't say anything, she wouldn't pry because he was a dragon horse after all, so he wasn't a normal horse. She also noticed that Pegasus wasn't complaining either so that meant he was fine sleeping outside too.

She got on Jun De, and they flew into the capital as they had rented a house a little outside because it was much cheaper.

She wondered when her Fire Kylin set would be sold because she could use that gold to buy her own place.
