136. The Dragon Turtle Gui

136. The Dragon Turtle Gui

They flew to the edge of the capital because Sage Zengzi only mentioned an area away from too many people, so they thought it was a nice place they had found. They stood on a large green hilltop where they could look out over the country around the capital. There were beautiful fields and trees in beautiful reddish and orange autumn colors, and it was an incredibly beautiful sight.

“It almost looks like the normal world without all this fantasy.” Lily said admiringly.

William held her left hand and looked around and gave her the right, “I feel like I'm half robot with that system. Fortunately, it doesn't speak to me if I don't start the conversation.”

So far Lily's system had done the same or it wasn't quite right. The first time she was vengeful it had spoken to her because it felt her anger.

She looked around and couldn't spot anyone and hoped there were no people present in the woods around them.

Suddenly William went to his knees, and she felt his hand squeeze her hard and looked at him in surprise. It looked like he was in bad pain, and he gritted his teeth.

"What's wrong?" she asked, confused.

"Can't you feel it?" he asked, struggling to breathe.

The air had suddenly become thin, and he felt that he had been oppressed by something invisible. It was worse than when he had seen a dragon overlord from afar. It felt like his blood was bubbling and he had a sick feeling like he was going to throw up. His stomach twisted and spasmed and it felt like someone stabbed him with a knife.

Worried, Lily bent down and held him, asking, "Are you sick?" and held a hand to his forehead and to her shock she felt that he was burning hot.

Suddenly the sky above them went dark and Lily looked up and her eyes widened in shock and surprise. There was a huge black dragon turtle in the sky. When it landed in front of them with a bump the ground shook all over.

"Dragon turtle." she exclaimed, admiring it.

It was something she had only read about in books and on the internet and she loved Chinese creatures. She suddenly remembered that William was in pain and saw that he was still trying to hold back from passing out.

She looked at the dragon turtle and said, "If it's your fault for his pain, can you take it away?"

The dragon turtle looked at her with its red eyes and blinked a few times. Suddenly Lily heard William stop making noises and she helped him up.

"Thank you very much." she said and looked at the dragon turtle.

“My name is Gui. I came to get you. I assume he will also come along.” said the dragon turtle.

Lily bowed humbly to him and replied, "Yes, he’s an important person to me."

Gui nodded and waved his right claw and suddenly Lily and William began to float towards him, and they landed on his back.

"Hold on." Gui said and suddenly they took to the sky at full speed.

Lily couldn't see anything to hold on to except all the spikes around his neck and carefully held around one as she held William's hand. They flew so fast that they couldn't see their surroundings and everything around them was blurred. They had only blinked a few times before they suddenly saw a lot of mountains of different heights and colors and there were white houses on them.

They landed in Sage Zengzi's garden and Gui shrunk into a smaller turtle so Lily and William could dismount themselves. Lily wanted to admire Gui but that wasn't what they had come for and sighed.

"You are beautiful. Has anyone told you that?” she said to him.

" Nope. Everyone is afraid of me or says I'm ugly.” Gui replied chuckling.

Lily felt sorry for him but since he was a dragon turtle, he was a strong creature and therefore everyone should look up to him and admire him instead of seeing him as something dangerous.

Lily looked at the pond with the koi fish and saw the big white crane from last time.

" Greetings." she said, bowing humbly to it.

"He's inside." said the crane, pointing to the door.

Lily and William went to the door and Lily knocked but heard no answer and opened the door. They were met by a stench of alcohol and went inside. They stood in a living room which was dark and there were countless jade bottles all over the place and they found Sage Zengzi sleeping on a sofa half naked with a white blanket over himself.

Lily was annoyed because they had only been talking a moment ago and now, he looked like a drunk, which made her angry. He was her master, and it was the first time William met him. This was not the kind of first impression she wanted to give to William.

She walked up to him and slapped him in the face and shouted loudly, “Master. Get your old ass up now. There are guests and it’s Lord William himself, my future husband.”

When Sage Zengzi heard her, he opened his eyes immediately and when he saw her, he sat up. His hair looked greasy, and it looked like he hadn't showered in a long time.

"You came. Good." he said but as he was about to get up Lily ordered coldly, "You take a shower first and get dressed before we talk."

Sage Zengzi looked like a small child who was scolded and pouted and got up and went into the bathroom. When they heard the water running, they started cleaning up the whole room. They opened the windows and doors, and light came into the whole house. They cooked food and placed it on the sofa table and waited for Sage Zengzi to finish.

When he came out, he was wearing a black hanfu with a gold belt that had ancient Chinese symbols. His hair was put up in a bun and he now looked like an elderly respectable gentleman.

When Lily saw him, she nodded in satisfaction and said, “Good. Eat and we can talk in the meantime.” and pointed to the table with the food they had prepared for him.

Sage Zengzi sat down and started eating immediately, complimenting, “It tastes delicious. You should have married me instead of him there.” without looking at William.

When Lily heard him, she was afraid of getting a message from the system that he had proposed to her and waited nervously but to her relief nothing came.

Since she was his disciple, it was possible that he would not exploit her through the system.

After Sage Zengzi had eaten, Lily made tea and served them snacks.

“I will come in the future and see you and bring some food. I am an excellent cook.” Lily said looking at him.

Sage Zengzi smiled and nodded and said, “I knew you were the right person. Okay let's talk about what you originally came for.” and looked at her seriously.

His eyes fell on William, and he asked, "What about him?"

"You can trust him since he's with me." replied Lily who knew what he was referring to.

"Okay, but whatever he hears here must not get out to the human, otherwise I must take his hearing." Sage Zengzi said menacingly.

William swallowed a big drop of saliva and said, “I will take it to my grave Sage Zengzi .”

Sage Zengzi cleared his throat and he suddenly looked embarrassed and said, “I made a big mistake when I was young and need you to correct it. Is this something you can help with?”

Sage Zengzi has given you a quest that you cannot refuse.

Argh, Lily took back the words that he wasn't going to take advantage of her through the system or they couldn't do anything else since it was her system.

She was reminded of Garret and Zaila and thought that she should bring him together with a woman and if it was something as simple as love, she could easily handle it.

She had always been good at giving love advice and when she was a teenager there were many friends who had used her as an adviser.

"Okay. I will help you." she said, smiling.
