187. The Beauty Pageant

Half an hour later they arrived in the capital of Amenale and fortunately the competition took place on the outskirts of the city, which was surrounded by wild nature, so they landed a little way from there between a lot of trees to avoid attracting attention. When they got past all the trees there was a huge flat grass area that had people gathered all over it and in the middle, there was a huge white oval stage.

"Should the men be there too?" Lily asked.

"No, they are judged on the other side of town." Lillian replied, explaining exactly how it happened.

When the competition started, two large screens would appear above the stage, the left one showing the women and the right one showing the men so everyone could follow along. It was always the opposite sex who would watch the competitions so men would watch women and vice versa. Lily was fine with that because she was good at charming men but made women jealous who would kill her. It would last the whole day and in between the competitions there would be a performance so the participants could take a break. They said goodbye to the men who had to go over to the other side and get ready and Lily and the others had to register.

They walked towards the stage above there was a long queue and Lily could see that they would have to wait for several hours and didn't want to.

She looked around and suddenly spotted Rosie standing at the front of the queue and called out, "Rosie."

Rosie heard her immediately and was talking to some girls and quickly went over to her.

"You finally came, but you ended up long in the queue. You must have something planned when your skin is dark, but I recognized all the girls behind you.” said Rosie.

Lily pouted and said, "Is there really no way to skip the line?"

Rosie smiled and replied, "I have a method but remember to change your name first."

Lily already had her cleric class and wanted to beat Celestia with the same class just to see her reaction when she lost. When she came on stage all the people could check her stats and many would check all her titles even if she had chosen the bad ones.

"Can I choose that people only see certain titles." she asked.

"Yes, you can because you have unlocked Mirage Master." replied the system.

Lily was relieved and told what titles people could see which were:

Amazing Slave, Pitiful Person, Shameless Human, Dirty Mouth, Two-Faced Individual, Book Thief, Abandoned Child, Lovelorn, Naked Man's Disciple.

She couldn't use her real name, nor a fucked-up nickname that she had always used. The only name she could think of was her sister and changed it immediately.

“Can you change to Valerie.” she said.

"It's done Valerie. Finally, you chose something normal.” the system replied, giggling.

"Is that laughter I hear?" Lily joked and smiled, now feeling like he was talking to a person and not a system even though she knew it was a person who was trapped.

She was reminded of Noob, and it couldn't be called that and asked if it could be changed. Fortunately, that was also possible because she had the Mirage Master. She changed it to Zaila because she was reminded of how beautiful Zaila was. She looked at Katniss and the girls and told that Noob's name was now Zaila and her name was Valerie.

They all went with Rosie to the front of the queue where there were already a lot of beautiful young girls who Lily knew were the ones who worked in Rosie's restaurant.

A few minutes later it was their turn where a man sat at a dark square wooden table in black clothes. He looked at all the girls behind Lily and nodded in satisfaction.

As he was about to open his mouth, they heard a woman complain loudly, "They jumped the line." It's unfair." and pointed at them.

When the man heard that he looked at Lily and all the girls and started to come up with a solution because it was obvious that the girls were following the woman who was standing in front who had dark skin.

As he was about to open his mouth, Rosie leaned forward and whispered in his left ear, “Isn't it time the goddess lost? If you reject them now, it won't happen.”

The man's eyes widened, and he looked at her and then at all the beautiful girls and his eyes fell on Noob who stood out.

"Who is she?" he asked curiously.

"The two are cousins." Rosie replied, smiling, hoping he got her hint.

The man smiled widely and said, "Come, you must register your name here." and suddenly an interface appeared in front of Lily.

She immediately registered all their names, and they were each given a number that was displayed in their interface. They were shown to the back of the stage where large round tables with chairs had been set and there were sofas, chairs, blankets, and cushions. They were divided up by a high black cloth carpet which functioned as a wall so that you could be private. There was even food and a bar and there were a lot of small white houses that had toilets and beds if you wanted to rest.

Lily was surprised that everything was taken care of, and they found a big place with Rosie and her girls. When they sat down some people came to them and served hot drinks and breakfast. Lily felt that they were being picked on, but they had to put up with that too when they had to stay here all day. She was sitting on a sofa and had laid down with a warm blanket over her. To make sure Ace and William hadn't forgotten her words about the set of clothes she had made for them, she decided to contact them.

“Lily. I see you changed your name because of today. It’s been a while. I miss you." said William, who took the call immediately.

"Do you remember to advertise with the clothes today." Lily said.

"Of course. I haven't worn it yet.” William said, sounding happy.

Lily was happy and said, “Thank you, I will reward you when I have time. Maybe we can meet when the competition is over.”

"Of course, we will. I want to see you beat Celestia and I know there are many others who want to see it too.” William said chuckling.

They said goodbye to each other, and Lily called Ace who picked up the call immediately.

"Are you ready to get your revenge on Celestia?" he asked.

Lily smiled widely and replied, “Yep. It’s only the first step of my revenge.”

She asked if he could advertise the clothes and he mentioned that he had waited to wear them until today because it was special. She was happy and wanted to see him later today and promised to contact him after she finished the competition.

They said goodbye to each other, and she looked at the others and said, "Wake me up when it's about to start." and closed his eyes.

She didn't need to prepare anything as she was good at cooking and could play instruments and had a lot of other hidden talents.
