A short time later they heard a man say, "You returned."
Lily turned to see a handsome young man with black hair, pale skin and dark eyes. He was wearing a pair of black pants and a white long-sleeved shirt. Her heart suddenly beat fast, and her cheeks blushed and she suddenly felt shy. She tried to keep the mask because she was with the others, but it was difficult. She stood up immediately and walked over to Damon.
“Hey Damon. I hope I am not disturbing.” she said, embarrassed.
Damon smiled and said, “You can never disturb,” and looked at the others curiously, “who are they?”
Lily began to introduce them all and told the reason why she wanted to visit the city again. She didn't want to be a thief this time and explained to him that she could learn skills from physical books, which didn't surprise him.
"Okay. Come along, but first they must drink this.” He said, taking out a small bottle of red blood.
Lily cleared her throat and said, "I gave Alicia some of mine."
Damon looked at her sternly and said, “It was just for you. Next time come to me if it is.”
Lily felt she was being scolded but didn't argue. It was only so Alicia could breathe underwater or she wouldn't have given her the blood. She now knew it was special and wondered who it belonged to.
She took out the bottle and drank a drop so that she would not be recognized by the false god. She took out the white linen cloth from last time and changed into the one behind a tree. When she came back, she saw that everyone had changed except for Damon who was still wearing normal clothes.
“Lily, your horns are gone.” Ace exclaimed in surprise when he saw her.
Lily felt her forehead and smiled and said, “Yep. That blood makes me a real mermaid.” and smiled proudly.
They were led out of the house and as they passed the black hills with people digging for stones Lily noticed Ace, Ezekiel and Alicia looked at them worriedly but said nothing. She knew they were smart and could figure out what was going on, especially after she had stolen Poseidon's trident.
When they were well past the hills out of sight of the guards Lily asked curiously, "Where is Amphitrite?"
"She's busy building an army of adversaries ready to overthrow the false god once you've rescued Poseidon." Damon replied.
"Sorry what?" Lily asked, shocked because she hadn't promised to save Poseidon but Triton.
Had there been a misunderstanding last time?
Damon stopped and looked at her worriedly and said, "I was told to send you away by Amphitrite when she forgot last time though I don't want to take advantage of you." and sighed.
Lily bit her lip and had an idea of what he meant by his words.
You must free Poseidon from a god.
She sighed knowing she couldn't run from it and didn't complain.
She nodded and said, “Okay. I'm trying but I can't promise anything.”
Damon nodded and said, "Your words are enough." and they went on.
Shortly after, they stood in front of a white building that resembled an ancient Greek temple. There were many white stone pillars and there were no doors or windows. They went inside and saw that there were a few people present and it did not surprise them. They were led to a section that had a lot of books and scrolls lying on shelves and on tables and it looked like a mess.
"What happened here?" Lily asked.
Damon sighed and replied, "The false god has been looking for something possibly a method so he could control the trident."
Lily walked over to the table that had stacks of countless scrolls and wanted to put things neatly on the table but when she touched the top scroll she was surprised.
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
Summoning scroll. Can summon a water creature.
She picked it up and looked at it more closely and saw that there was a lot of text that she could not read, and she guessed that it was either ancient Greek or a fantasy language.
She looked at Damon and asked, "Why are there summoning scrolls?"
"When our world was mixed with yours, they were made so that humans could use them, but when the false god took over the throne, he closed all contact with the outside world." he replied sitting down at the table and picked up a scroll and handed it to Ace who was confused.
Lily understood that they would be useless to the people here and said to take them all. Ezekiel was happy and rushed around emptying all the shelves and nooks that had all kinds of scrolls since this section was made for humans. Lily took a lot of scrolls but only those she saw as important and would give them to her army when she got home.
"Lily you are a treasure chest. Now it's no surprise that Ezekiel is so interested in you.” praised Alicia who also excitedly walked around and took everything she found useful.
When they had emptied all the shelves, tables, nooks and cupboards they could, they felt that it had had a perfect harvest. Lily was so happy because she had gotten all the physical books that the others couldn't use, which was to her advantage.
Seeing how happy they were, Damon thought of something and said, "Actually, I have something to show you." and they followed him anxiously.
They were led into a small room which had a golden globe on a table where there were a lot of scrolls and the whole room had shelves with countless scrolls.
"Is this also summoning?" Ace asked surprised.
Damon shook his head and replied, "No they can each unlock a Hidden class."
When they all heard that they suddenly got greedy eyes except Lily because she didn't want to level up anymore because otherwise, she would become lvl 300 which she tried to avoid.
Ezekiel walked over to the table and reached out for a scroll but as he was about to touch it, he hesitated for a second. He knew it was because of Lily that they had come here and without her they wouldn't even have the chance to visit Poseidon's city. They thought it was a myth, but she had an ability that made it become reality. They had already received countless summoning scrolls and that was enough for them and besides that they had all unlocked a Hidden class. However, there was no limit on how many people could have. He pulled his hand back and looked at the others and saw that they were thinking the same thing.
He looked at Lily and said, "You have to take them since we wouldn't have ended up here without your help."
Lily looked at all the countless scrolls but couldn't use them, at least not yet but he was right they had only come here because of her so they belonged to her. She emptied the entire room of scrolls and specifically chose to put them in her space ring in case the system found something it didn't care for.
She looked at the others and said, “I don't need them as I don't need any more Hidden classes at the moment. I will distribute some to you later.”
Ace walked up to her and said, “You don't have to. These summoning scrolls are enough for our guild.”
Lily shook her head and said, “They don't matter to me, so you'll get some later. We can look at them together to see what suits your class best.” and smiled.
"Ace, stop rejecting her when she's literally throwing them at our heads." Ezekiel said chuckling because it was a chance he didn't want to miss.
Damon walked over to Lily and explained, “A scroll has been made for each person who was blessed when the portal came so now you know approx. how many there are.”
Lily had no idea but could work out that there were several million since it was for people who were under 40 years old.
They were shown around town for Ezekiel and Alicia to see a bit more of it. They did a lot of shopping which Lily thought was funny but understood them well. She could come to town at any time, but they didn't have that advantage and had to harvest what they could now. She saw that Ace didn't buy anything, but he didn't need to either when the other two did it for him.
They had lunch in town which was seafood and it tasted delicious. Lily ate a lobster, and she loved lobster meat and felt like she was in heaven every time she took a bite.
"It tastes fresh and is delicious." She complimented and was reminded of cooking skills and asked if anything existed for Cooking class.
Damon disappeared and came back to them with scrolls in hand and gave them all a scroll. They all thanked him nicely and didn't know what to give in return.
When they got back to the house Damon wanted to have a few last words with Lily, so the others waited out in the lake with the seahorses.
Damon looked at Lily and said, "Normally you can't bring people here and your friend was an exception last time, but we got rid of all the useless scrolls, so I thank you this time." and leaned forward and kissed her on the mouth.
Lily was pleasantly surprised when she felt his soft lips and her heart beat faster. When he pulled his lips back, she licked her mouth and could taste something sweet. Her cheeks blushed and she became shy.
Damon suddenly took out a black scroll and handed it to her.
"Take this here, but it's only for you." he said.
Lily immediately put the scroll in her space ring and knew it was something special.
As they were about to go outside to the others Lily thought of the slaves on the hills and asked, "Is there no one to free them?"
Damon, who knew what she was referring to sighed and replied, "There’s a person but that person is not strong enough yet."
Lily was sure it was Amphitrite he was referring to and said nothing more and went out to the others. They said goodbye to Damon and Lily hugged him. She could smell that he smelled fresh but not of seaweed and sea. It was refreshing to her nose, and she smiled.
She kissed him on the cheek and said, “Take care of yourself. If anything happens to you, send the seahorses after me.” for she was concerned about his well-being.
Damon nodded and they mounted the seahorses and dived into the pond.
