They both stood up and Lily looked at the fields with a lot of mixed emotions and she had a lot of thoughts.

“Is it their own souls?” she asked curiously because she knew the word personification.

Merlin sighed and replied, "Do you know why there are so few moon flowers in your world?"

Lily shook her head and replied, "I have seen some, but it was very few and I can figure they are rare."

"Those flowers come from The Mother Tree, and they are her children. They are nourished by human souls.” Merlin explained.

Lily had heard of The Mother Tree before but had forgotten when.

Why did she always forget the most important things?

So, it sounded like the flowers absorbed human souls or similar but was still confused because there were soul lords who could revive them so she really didn't understand how they could absorb souls.

“There are soul lords.” she mentioned.

"Every time a person dies, the flowers absorb the soul. You can see it as a cycle. The soul lords keep reviving the human and the flowers can stay alive that way.” Merlin explained.

It sounded crazy to Lily's ears, but it made good sense and that way no human actually died when they were revived again. She didn't think about it any further and changed the subject.

She looked at Merlin and said, "I need your help to get out of a void prison."

"Okay. Where is it?" he asked.

Not knowing the location, Lily asked, "Where is it?"

"Unfortunately, there is no information about the place." replied the system.

"Unfortunately, I don't know that yet." she answered awkwardly and sighed deeply.

Merlin held his right-hand palm up and with a puff a small black bird appeared. It looked like a blackbird, but the beak was black. He explained that she should bring it with her and be able to communicate with him via the bird. They walked around nature and talked some more and when it was evening a room was arranged for them where Lily and Ace got one together.

They chose to have dinner in the town outside the castle because Lily wanted to eat in a local place because she was afraid the atmosphere would be too tense in a castle.

They found a cozy inn and the food was delicious and it reminded me of goulash with beef and there was a country bread.

Lily looked at Ezekiel who was sitting across from her and asked, "What have you experienced?"

"Alicia tested her skills with some soldiers and I visited some different blacksmiths and managed to get some scrolls." he replied happily.

"I went exploring with Ace and Jun De and Lillian went sightseeing." Aaron said.

Lily was glad they weren't bored because she didn't have time to go sightseeing with them. Since she could now contact Merlin privately, she always had access to this place in addition to still being in possession of Excalibur. It suddenly dawned on her that everything was being dumped on her like a carrier pigeon and she was now carrying a great burden and could not fail because then she would disappoint them all.

She sighed and mumbled, "Why me?" and continued eating.

The others looked at her but didn't say anything and continued eating because they didn't know what to say to encourage her. She had taken them around and seen incredible things and places that they never could before they met her.

Ace who sat to her left asked, “How was your conversation? You are the only one who has met Merlin himself.”

"He gave me 2 tests and I passed them both luckily and I discovered something creepy." Lily replied because she didn't know if it was normal for a soul lord to keep reviving people all the time.

Something didn't add up, but no one had the answers, and she became more and more confused every time she met a large creature. They all stopped eating and looked at her seriously and she explained to them what Merlin had told her.

" Tch. I knew something was up with the cunning soul lords.” Ezekiel said annoyed.

Lily became even more confused when she heard him and asked, "What do you mean?"

"It is said that you have to deal with things in order for them to revive a soul, but that does not fit. They give a guild master a killing quest every time a guild member is dead. The more people die, the number of kills doubles.” he explained.

Lily got a lurch in her stomach when she heard that and looked at Ace worried and saw that he was worried too. Did it mean that Fergus really knew what was going on but had just lied to her when she asked the soul lords to avoid scaring her away?

"But why do you want to use human souls?" she asked, sure there were other reasons why it sounded too simple.

There was one important detail Merlin failed to tell her and it was either because he had no more knowledge or because she had to find out the truth herself. The only way she could find answers was to find Eco whom she could not contact. She was reminded of the woman who had mourned over a grave who mentioned that moon flowers could nourish souls.

She was reminded of the beasts that ate souls at the Crystal Lake and asked the others curiously, "What did you see in that fog?"

"A great black spider covered with countless eyes." Alicia replied.

Lily wasn't surprised by her answer because almost everyone was afraid of spiders, so it was completely normal.

"I'm afraid of spiders too." She said.

"I'm not afraid of them but it's the eyes I'm afraid of. My fear is that one day my body will be covered with countless eyes." Alicia said, her body shaking.

"I saw myself alone as the only person in the world. My fear is being alone." Aaron said.

"I saw myself transform into a permanent beast and couldn't change back into a human again." Said Ezekiel.

"I saw my husband die." Lillian said.

"I saw you Lily because I'm afraid of losing you." Ace said.

"What did you see?" Aaron asked curiously.

Lily chose to be honest and answered, "An orgy where Ace and Celestia were present."

The others thought they had heard wrong and stopped eating and stared at her. Ace knew she was crazy and now he had confirmed it.

"So that fog shows one's fear. Your fear is Celestia?” Ezekiel asked.

Lily knew that it was the orgy that was her biggest fear because she knew that Ace was not interested in the disgusting woman.

"She has the title of goddess, but you look like the real thing so it's not surprising if you're afraid of her." Lillian said.

Alicia nodded and said, “We fully support you.” and gave her a friendly smile.

Lily felt she was surrounded by idiots and chose not to answer because she didn't see Celestia as a threat but rather the other way around because she was with Ace. Yes, it was definitely her class that made everything around her crazy, even her own brain she doubted sometimes.

They were lying in bed and Lily looked at Ace, worried by Merlin's words.

"Have you ever died before?" she asked.

" Never. I’m the best ranger in the world and share the top spot with William, Ezekiel and Liam. None of us have been dead yet.” he answered.

Lily was surprised when she heard him because it meant he was strong or very intelligent and knew how to fare against the different classes. She was suddenly worried about what would happen if he died because she knew he shared a soul orb with Ezekiel.

If you had a soul orb and died where would that soul orb end up?

It was the same as being trapped in herself and she suddenly became very worried about the lives of Ace and the others.

“Promise me that you will be careful and not die. That goes for both you and Ezekiel.” she said.

"It's not like you to be worried about me, but it makes me happy. It means you care about me.” Ace said, smiling at her.

Lily smiled widely and moved closer to him and said, "I have feelings for you." and her cheeks blushed, and she became shy.

Ace's heart beat faster when he heard the words because it was music to his ears. He kissed her gently on the mouth and hugged her.
