Thanking the gods that she had prepared in advance. Noticing him, the first reaction was to run. Knowing that it was possible he might have also noticed her. Unsure of when, she honestly didn’t have time to care.
Dashing through the forest, she thought back through the interaction. From beginning to end, there wasn’t anything standing out. When she saw him, she started to prepare for being exposed. The liquid she took was a compound that was used in surprise attacks.
Cassie taught her to always prepare for the worst. Only in that way can she live to see the next day. For this reason she didn’t hesitate to waste the liquid. If she didn’t get caught the waste might have caused her to flinch. Seeing as the liquid once used, would become useless if not used.
While in the mouth, it didn’t do anything, but once mixed with mana it changed and became extremely flammable. If left alone, once it came into contact with saliva it could no longer be stored, if not used. Normally used to create a distract tactic to escape, she found it perfect to use when he was flaunting a light.
Gritting her teeth, she could feel multiple gazes. Not trying to hide their existence, their ill intent told her she was currently being chased by more than one. Without being able to distance herself, she could confirm that, the man with the scar was not the only Grade D in their group.
With very little time to think through it, she turned and changed directions. Running through the forest she had many plans running through her head. The worst plan she could think of as a last resort was to rush towards the monkey territory.
Taking days, she would need to survive that long. As if answering that question she heard a familiar voice behind her, “Hey girlie, where are you going? We just want to talk. Haha, it would be nice if you complied. Is my word not worth anything?”
Using his voice as a means to track, she twisted lightly as she spun as she pushed off the ground. Whirling her hands like a top, using that momentum she released a series of knives. The rest of the sets she used against the rabbit, flying through the air, she didn’t have time to determine if they hit or not.
Bringing up a hand, she grabbed the earth as she stopped her spinning, with a single last look behind her, she leaned back as she landed on her feet. Twisting back around she listened carefully as she pushed off the earth, causing it to explode creating a large screen of dirt and loose rocks to shoot into the sky.
A light smile hung on her face as the second the earth exploded, she was able to hear a man cursing. The voice was sweetly familiar and sounded angry with a tinge of pain.

This chase continued, long into the night. As darkness engulfed the dark forest, it created a complete darkness that showed no light. Jessica was attempting to use her lessons to the full.
She couldn’t see in the dark, without light, mana wouldn’t allow her much vision. It only enchanted your vision. In this sense, everyone here was in the same position. Only, with their chase she started to feel a strange situation.
At first, she believed they were trying to waste her energy. They chased only, after the initial gain, they failed to close the gap. As she rushed on the ground, before switching back to trees. Having been running through these trees for a month. Some of the paths were treaded already, therefore she could follow familiar paths.
Not once, did the people chasing her do the same. They followed her on the ground, lousily so. Only one of the people chasing her was able to keep up. Almost as if they were not very skilled in movement through rough terrain.
Continuing on to this. Outside the one that was causing her to always have her position exposed. The rest, had numerous problems throughout the day. For this reason, she decided to push her luck. If she continued to run wildly through the forest.
That might let her get away, or it would get her into the stomach of a creature prowling the night. Picking a location wasn’t terribly hard. Having multiple hiding spots in the second layer, this was one such place.
Knowing the terrain, she continued to move with these memories. Listening she could hear multiple people breathing laboriously. For some reason not a single one seemed to have left as the night came.
Using her hand, she felt the tree in front of her. Slowly stepping forward she followed it as she went around it. She could feel the heat from the person in front of her, completely oblivious to the fact they were being stalked.
With little choice, she thrust her hand with an educated guess. Using her other arm at the same time she brought it up and around. Feeling and guessing the best she could, having luck on her side, she was able to get the positioning right.
Ignoring the pain as they bit her hand, she took a second stab. This time with one hand over their mouth it became easier to aim at what she needed to hit. With one done, she continued to move. However, luck was not on her side.
Having come on to the third target, she ended up tripping on a root. This created noise. She didn’t hesitate before she moved back and hid behind a nearby tree. Not a second after retreating she heard a thud on the spot she had just been at.
Sounding eerily similar to that of an arrow striking wood. Without knowing if they were lucky, or if they had a way to see somewhat in this darkness. Gritting her teeth she thought back to the words of that man.
There was a good chance this was an elf. Their ability to use arrows in the forest were not something to look down on. It was an innate gift that seemed to be a natural talent. Because of this, she didn’t have a solid understanding of it.
With little thoughts, she was unsure of what to do. Doing the best she could to calm herself down. She would wait for something to change, it was the only thing she could do. Moving back she disappeared.
Seeing she hadn’t been attacked, hiding in the hiding spot she had made to explore was the best place she could go. So far it seemed the suspected elf wasn’t able to completely see in this dark. Keeping her nerves alert she continued to wait, not knowing for what exactly.
