“I call.” The speaker spoke with a rough and hardened tone.
“All in.” Cassie’s voice was bright and cheerful.
Murmuring could be heard from around them. A few jeering remarks came out after hearing her declaration. Those that could be heard were all speaking to the rough speaker. It was possible some were speaking ill of Cassie, though their voices were too low to hear.
Jessica was standing behind Cassie with a bit of annoyance. They had asked Cassie a number of times not to put them in such a situation. They had been here for two months now. No longer were they fresh faces.
By this time, Cassie had won some blue tribe members over. During one of her outings, she was invited by a new friend. One thing led to another, and she was brought to a gambling den. As one could imagine, they weren’t operating publicly out in the open.
Jessica found it troublesome because Saleh wasn’t invited. In fact, when he went out with Cassie, they would be stopped from entering. Soon the tent would be moved and would become something entirely different.
Being unsure of how or why Cassie found such a place. What shocked her more was that Cassie won more than she lost. Thus, her games became a hot topic and drew the largest crowds. Making her job that much harder.
Even if it was unlikely for anything to happen. This was a gambling den that was permitted. There was no question if the higher-ups weren’t in on it. There was no way it could operate.
With that in mind, it was impossible to do it out in the open. Therefore, it could be said that there were many seedy characters showing up in these parts. Sitting across from Cassie was a man with a high status.
Dissimilar to Saleh, this person wasn’t high status in the normal sense but in a more notorious nature. Currently, there was enough in the pot to make Jessica a bit nervous. Cassie was on one of her hot streaks and her opponent didn’t wish to lose.
Having run out of chips, they started to use other collateral. Sitting on the table were twenty mana stones. Waving his hand, the man with human features squinted as an additional five mana stones were put on the table.
Everything happened so fast that Jessica didn’t know what to say. Not ten minutes later, the two were on their way back to Isabel’s. Moving with a slight limp, it was clear that Jessica was moving with a large amount of weight on one side of her body.

Cassie was pulling on her sleeve, “Why didn’t you stop me?! Sigh…”
“I told you to stop gambling from the beginning.” Jessica retorted without much emotion.
“It isn’t gambling! It is a game of skill!” Cassie fought back, not willing to take it laying down.
Yet, Jessica was merciless, “Then you only have yourself to blame for lacking said skill.”
Tilting her head to the side, she ignored the annoying fly buzzing in her ear. Cassie continued to poke at her cheek trying to get a response before finally giving up as she continued to let out emotional sighs, “Easy come, easy go.”
Giving her a glance, Jessica turned around. She knew Cassie wasn’t really all that depressed. Knowing full well, the amount she had lost was far below the amount she won.
They didn’t just go to one place, but multiple places. Cassie as a political guest was a joke when she first heard it. Believing her to just be a spoiled brat, or child. At least from her attitude, that wasn’t awful, but not completely mature.
Slowly since the beginning, Cassie interacted with them without the slightest upturn of her chin. In fact, Jessica felt like Cassie was a friend. Noticing the abnormality, she asked Saleh how he felt, he too, felt the same.
Only then did she realize Cassie had wormed her way gently into her heart that was usually heavily guarded. At first, she thought, because she missed the old man, seeing Isabel and Saleh. Without Leo, she was vulnerable.
Now, she realized the title of political guest was no joke. Not only had Cassie gotten into all the highest level gambling dens, she had done it in such a manner that she was able to make out with a killing.
“Why do you keep looking at me like I am some kind of monster?” Cassie could see Jessica glance at her every few seconds. The look in her eye was strange.
“Well, you are. Aren’t you?” Sounding strangely harsh.
A smile crept on her lips, “Oh, you think so? Haha, then you should fear me, I might just end up eating you!”
Seeing the large exaggerated movements, Jessica just started ignoring her again. This continued as the two changed multiple topics. Finally moving to the destination, they were met with a dark scene. Their surroundings visibly darkened, as if the surrounding light had been devoured.
The familiar tent came into view, Saleh was at the door, “You are late, I was just about to go get you. Dinner is done.”
Moving towards Saleh, Jessica stopped as he spoke to her in a more quiet voice, “Anything abnormal?”
“No.” The two watched as Cassie was petting and jesting a bit with the snow wolf in the yard.
“Come, it's time for dinner. I lost big time this time, so if you don’t hurry, I will eat it all myself!” Cassie spoke as she passed the two.
“I don’t think that is how it works.” Saleh answered, half smiling.
“It does for me!” Cassie replied, giving him a hardened look of intimidation.
However, the cute appearance of hers hadn’t changed. Instead, they were faced with a rather cute face that made the two crack up laughing. To which an even meaner look, or at least the attempt was made, being met with even greater laughter.
Finally returning to a normal look, one of joy appeared on her face, “Oh, curry, my favorite! Momma Isabel, you’re the greatest!”
Isabel just smiled as she patted her head, while the other hugged her tightly. Gesturing, everyone to sit down and eat.
