Departure (163)

Early in the morning. The trio and a snow wolf moved towards the entrance they had come in. At the moment, the sun was raising from the east, much of the streets were fairly empty. Even still, a decent number of people were still moving about, considering the time of day.

Making it to the opening of the fence, a team was standing guard. It was also possible to see a patrol team leaving to do rounds. Their group waited for Saleh to speak to the team on guard duty, soon they took a short journey to a warehouse.

This was one of the very view buildings made of wood, instead of a tent. It was completely empty, outside of their carriage. Because of the formations inside the tribe, there was no dust or dirt. Sitting quietly in the same condition they had left it in. As if they had only been gone a single day.

Patting the snow wolf, Cassie pulled out the harness from her inventory ring. Before applying the harness, Cassie moved towards the entrance on the right side of the carriage. While having doors on both ends, one was often locked from the inside, making it impossible to open. Not unless it was opened from inside.

A wood frame, with a glass window that was covered. Making peeking inside impossible. While looking incredibly well-made, there was an intricate hole that appeared to be the place one used a key to unlock it.

However, Cassie didn’t pull out a key, instead what she held in her hand was a crystal. It was large on one end, where the other became smaller before it refined itself into an intricate looking key. After placing it into the hole, nothing happened.

Turning the crystal from the larger section, there was an audible click. Releasing the crystal, Cassie watched as the large end began to light up. Starting from the top, a white glow appeared. This glow was split into three by five.

Once all sections of lit up, the carriage came alive. Both Jessica and Saleh felt a bit uncomfortable by this feeling. A large amount of mana was cycling through the carriage’s exterior. This mana almost instantly dissipated as it left the immediate area of the carriage’s exterior.

That was to say that while a large amount of mana was being released, it could only be sensed from close range. As they were only five feet away, if they were any further it would become incredibly difficult to feel.

This discomfort came from the suppressive nature of the mana. A dreadful feeling came from the carriage, like it was some type of primordial beast. Clearly, Helga had personal set up these restrictions. Or at least someone at her level.

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

“Even the fight between Joana and that Grade B, felt like a bunch of children fighting next to this.” Saleh couldn’t help but comment to displace his discomfort.

Thinking of Joana and her difficulties breaking through Grade A, “Exactly how big is the gap between Grade B and A?”

Listening to the two, Cassie only smiled as she watched the crystal with a great amount of concentration.

Soon there was a change, the first row of three turned green, one at a time. As fast as the first finished, the second started. In the end, all five rows turned green. Only then did Cassie let out a carefree smile, “It wasn’t tampered with. Let’s get going.”

Saleh could only watch helplessly as Cassie started to hum as she moved into the carriage. He had nothing to say, even though this was clearly a questionable thing for him. What she had done was test the carriage for tampering inside the Blue Wolf Tribe.

Both understanding and thinking it was necessary. Similarly, feeling as if it was a bit insulting to believe that the Blue Wolf Tribe would ever do something so dishonorable.

After putting the harness on, Jessica and Saleh talked for a minute. Soon, Jessica moved into the carriage with Cassie.

Slowly, Saleh used the method they had learned before leaving. The snow wolf slowly started to move. In the time they had stayed, Cassie and Saleh enjoyed much of what the Blue Wolf Tribe had to offer. Jessica spent the majority of her time inside, meditating and attempting to grow stronger.

In between, Jessica still went out to explore the tribe a bit. It could be said to be a unique experience, as her alone would not usually be allowed in. Only those of status with clear intentions be allowed in. As a stranger with no status, they were too unknown to be allowed inside. Simply not worth the risk

While on the other hand, the snow wolf wasn’t just sleeping. If Jessica had taken a large amount of time to grow stronger. The two had nothing to say about the snow wolf. Cassie clearly cared greatly for the snow wolf.

On one hand, it had shown such great amount of utility. Not only could it pull the carriage by itself, the snow wolf showed an uncanny amount of power in a fight. Maybe that was why, neither of the two could say anything when Cassie constantly gave it large amount of resources that made the two a bit jealous.

The snow wolf was now a lot stronger and well into Grade E. Saleh had not fought it, but he felt that it was not that far behind him. As if showing this, after leaving the tribe. The speed they moved through the hills was much faster.

Clearly, not making it to the same speeds as it did during winter. The gap between that time and now had been shortened. If they were on snow, it was likely the snow wolf could move at a speed greater than a horse would during normal times.

Everything continued to go well. Without much time passing, Saleh felt his connection to the formation cut off. Marking them leaving the area of the tribe.

A few days later, Saleh was inside the carriage when his face changed. They were slowly coming to a stop. Making a gentle expression to Cassie, “Wait here, I will see what the problem is.”

Once the door closed, a smile tugged at Cassie’s lips.
