Tilting her head to the left, Jessica felt a sharp pain sear her cheek. The arrow that was once rested in her grip and bow was gone. However, that didn’t last long. In the time that Jessica recovered from her dodge, a new arrow was taken out.
Jabbing out with her right hand. A sharp glint from the arrow head enlarged as she was forced to take step back. With one step back, Jessica took a better stance as she put her weight into her next attack.
With no interest in attempting to play the game of range, instead of going in for a deep stab. She was forced to slice with an overhead strike. While showing extraordinary balance, the elf was unable to defy gravity.
Slotting the arrow, the bow was brought up, pulling back she used to arrow head to force her dagger between the bow and arrow. Once snug in between, tilting to the side she brought Jessica along. Testing her own flexibility and balance.
Once again, she flung a sweeping kick, this time looking to dig deep into her side. With thoughts of locking her foot into a guard, Jessica decided it against it. With little time she backed off, using her other hand to slice at the overextended leg.
Drawing some blood, because of the speed at which they were moving. She was only able to get a superficial slice. As they continued to fight, this could be an avenue to seek other advantages. Not to be outdone, her opponent didn’t take the hit without doing anything.
A hint of danger danced in the eyes that appeared to be unaffected by anything that had happened yet. Her hand was now rested in a steady position to release an arrow, without pulling back on the bow string.
Jessica couldn’t help but stare for a moment. In her right hand was now three arrows and not just one. She had seen a number of techniques back in the village she had grown up in. Without making any immediately actions, keeping the distance, the two started to circle each other.
Time was not on her side. Having traded blows, Jessica was sure they were on equal footing. Neither her nor her opponent had the advantage in terms of mana. Both were in the beginning stages of Grade D.
Problems came from her opponent not being alone. Jessica had lured her out by herself. Yet, it wasn’t like she made it easy. Therefore, she had no time to make sure her opponent hadn’t left any traces. If that was the case, the advantage was undoubtable in her opponents favor.
With this in mind, Jessica kicked a small mound. Having seen the same thing, her opponent was not caught off guard. Jumping back, she released all three shots.

Having to bring a dagger up, taking a step to the side. A sharp clinging resounded out as sparks flew from the collision of the blade and arrow head. When the dust settled, there were another three arrows ready to be shot.
Letting off a single shot, Jessica took that opportunity to move in. Another slicing sound came out as she felt a tearing pain dig into her side. Even doing the best she could, she had still taken another partial.
Only, with this she had been given an in. Not allowing her to create distance again, Jessica attacked, pushing her in a singular direction.
Parrying the attacks, as if having eyes in the back of her head. The elf didn’t continue to back herself into a corner. A large tree that was like a wall to the two individuals. Being only a few steps away. Not knowing how, Jessica didn’t have time to think about this.
Without releasing the arrows, using the bow, she shoved the hard material into Jessica in an attempt to make her back off. When that didn’t work, she used her other hand to punch forward, causing the two arrows to jab at her from the middle of the bow.
Having already attempted to slice through the shafts, Jessica knew they were of made of some type of material that had been reinforced with mana. They might as well have been made with metal.
Using an instance of hesitation, pulling back, her fingers released one of the arrows. Being given just a second to react, Jessica had to abandon the distance she had fought for to avoid the shot that was aimed at her face.
Feeling a large amount of mana, Jessica looked up with a strained expression. The green eyes underneath her purple hair were brightly lit as a ray of light reflected from a small hole in the forest foliage.
Releasing her hand, there was a vortex of mana causing time to have appeared to slow down. Seemingly taking seconds to release the tension in the bowstring, finally leaving the bow. It flew at her with full momentum, briefly losing track of its flight.
Jessica was forced to use its predicted trajectory to determine where to block. As it was the last arrow, she would only have a short time to recover before the fight would resume.
Surprisingly calm, she released a breath as she sliced in front of her. Hoping to never need to use it, Cassie had prepared her for fighting against bows. While very little was actually useful this fight, at least at this moment something had proven her days of practice was not wasted.
As her swing met arrow, she narrowed her eyes. At nearly the same time they met, she was met with a pain on both sides of her face. Narrowing hitting the mark, if she had failed to predict the correct its trajectory she would likely have taken an undefended shot to her chest.
Pushing forward, she was not going to let her opponent have it easier than her. Seeing the surprise in the elves eyes, Jessica was filled with a bit of relief as the cold emotionless eyes started to play on her nerves.
As she reached within range, she heard a whistling sound. Her heart dropped as a stinging pain started in her hand before shooting up her arm causing her to stop. In the second she stopped, the whistling sound closed in, and a large explosion rang out as if a meteor had slammed into the earth.
A ringing sound filled Jessica’s ears as dirt, grass, and leaves filled her vision.
