Having confirmed, they were really coming to her. It was already too late. Jessica by that point knew that she was unlucky. The other party really did see her. Without any trust, Jessica was forced to make a decision.
In the end, she came up with one conclusive way to give her the best possible solution. At least she believed this was it, not having much time to even second guess herself. She would preform an ambush.
This came from a passive position. Not knowing the other party, Jessica didn’t know how they would react to her. Exposing herself to the minotaur could be lethal. If the current person had a method of escape, they could use her as a distraction.
Without time to prepare anything, this left her with only a few options. An ambush could deter the beast. In a situation, someone was going to be at a disadvantage. Shifting who would claim this responsibility was the best she could come up with.
Best case scenario, critically injury or enough to cause hesitation or make it possible to take it down. While the two couldn’t trust each other. In the face of benefits, the best possible option was to work together to kill the minotaur.
If, say, she was attacked to use as bait to escape. This ambush would no longer be for the minotaur. With any slight intention of exposing her or trying to use her as bait, Jessica would make them their priority.
Hiding in these roots was something she did because it gave her a great view, a complete view of everything around her. Meaning there were multiple ways in. Being in the dark, opposed to the light, gave her confidence to pull this off.
As time came to see the outcome, a completely different scene played out in front of her.
“God damn it…” Cursing, Tasha ignored Jessica. In her experience, a lone Grade E that was too scared to move was completely useless. Shifting, she planned to change directions.
When everything came down to it, she wasn’t willing to sacrifice another person just to save herself. With a decrepit smile, she could only keep running as her eyes became a bit watery.
While this occurred, Jessica was both stunned and a bit annoyed. On one hand, she built up the determination to act, so she was a bit annoyed. While, a complete stranger not willing to involve someone else. Having come into close proximity she had felt the Grade D mana of the other party.
Not knowing how, it appeared from her cursing she had identified she was only Grade E. With a bit of hesitation she came to a second decision that would have obviously pissed off Leo. Still, she believed he might understand. Bringing her fingers to her lips, she covered her fingers in mana before blowing.

Having just changed directions, Tasha stumbled slightly. Being a second late, she had to bring her arms up as she braced herself. Surprised by her own dexterity, she came out with just light friction burns. Having no confidence, she expected to take half a hit, only to make it out of the way. Skidding slightly on the ground from dodging awkwardly.
With a dark expression, she finally made up her choice, hoping to god she would be in for another surprise. Ducking under another hit, she took off towards the tree once more. Not knowing what to do, she could only helplessly run past it.
While not at the same level as a normal Grade D, it didn’t mean that just because she was slightly weak. She was still a Grade D in the end. Things like sensitivity to danger was still at the level of Grade D for an adventurer from Mercury City. Therefore, she choked slightly when her back felt cold.
After passing the tree, she felt a chill that was generally what she felt just before danger was about to strike. As if to commemorate this sensation, a large explosion following a burst of mana came from the tree not five feet away.
Not wishing to stop, she turned. Slowing down her speed without completely stopping. A long blur was traveling from the tree before making it to the minotaur at bottleneck speed. Having been moving at a considerable speed to begin with, the blur didn’t reach the minotaur before but after.
It was then, Tasha was finally able to make out the other’s appearance. She was young, with blue hair and blue eyes. Currently, she had a cold expression as she was currently in the air. She didn’t catch what was going on, so all she saw was that she passed the minotaur from behind.
Even when she didn’t have high hopes, seeing this didn’t really give her any hopes. Still, there was some disappointment. Almost at the same time, there was a jerk. This wasn’t just the girl in the air, no, even the minotaur seemed to jerk slightly.
Only at that moment was she able to register something like a string should be behind the woman. Without needing to do anything she subconsciously followed logic, at some unknown time a dagger had been stabbed into the neck from the other side.
With little choice, Tasha slowly slid to a stop. A sharp breath from the pain in her lungs escaped through her mouth. Tasha was a bit surprised, having fought before running. She couldn’t help but stare at the dagger for a second. To pierce that tough skin, clearly it was no normal dagger.
Having so much momentum, Jessica rode the wave as a large jerk threatened to rip her arm off. Having run as fast as she possibly could, there was a large force. With the minotaur’s momentum, she was soon able to see a pair of red, slitted pupils. Unlike a normal pair of eyes, these were closer to a goat. The slit was not vertical but horizontal.
As a large bronze skinned arm went to slap at her, she was not ready for its speed, however, before it could reach her. A large, heavy iron shield slammed into the arm, causing a loud verberation. Having been able to avoid a nasty hit, Jessica was forced to dig her heels into the ground to stop her new wire from continuing to wrap around the minotaur alongside the person blocking the arm.
With little choice, she disconnected the wire while leaving her dagger in the side of its neck. Being forced to take a few steps back. With a glare, it let out an earth-shattering roar into the sky. Venting its hatred and pain for the creatures in front of it.
