We recived word from Par today, it wasn't a complete victory but it was a victory. They managed to take another city, though they took some pretty heavy losses in the process and are now returning via city teleporter to get some new recruits. Apparently he lost a limb in the process, one of their elites showed up and did quite a bit of damage before Par was able to drive them off. From what Par wrote this was ultimately a failure because he failed to kill the elite warrior, the city was merely a consolation prize. He hasn't fixed the arm yet because he only trusts me with something like that. Based on how he described it, it is probably within the realm of traditional healing still, so it would probably be fine if he were to have another healer do it, but whatever.
Par should be back by tomorrow, and will likely stay home until after new years, which is great.
in addition to that we had a pretty big group of soldiers, not very well trained by my estimation, start trying to cut down trees at the edge of my forest. They didn't live very long and the damage they dealt was minor, but it looks like the angelic council are starting to be more militaristicly active. We haven't seen one of their elites before and outside of the invasion to the center of my forest they haven't tried to actually destroy any of my trees.
My apprentices have improved today, but not in any real qualitative way. they are just doing everything a little bit better than before.
Azrezel managed to get ahold of the intact corpse of a dragon, this one killed by some kind of telepath that basically made its brain shut down. He's also attended a couple of the enchanting lessons and realized that some of those techniques might be useful for his own work, and has been working with that idea recently.
I say that because walking in on Azrezel writing on a dead dragon in blood was not exactly what I expected to see when I was brinign him chocolates today. Apparently the blood belonged to the dragon, extracted through a bit of flesh manipulation, and was somehow really good for the kind of enchanting Azrezel is doing. The whys kind of went over my head, but it's belivable at least.
Azrezel says that he should be donein the next two days, any longer and apparently things will start to degrade. I'm not sure what exactly he means by that, but he's the expert so he's probably right.
He also gave me a pair of gloves made of pure mithrial, the real stuff not my attempt to mimic it with wood. it was woven really finely too, like too small for me to see the individual threads of the stuff with my unaided sight, I had to use Astrie to boost my vision and glovine to make the image larger to actually see them. This makes it really smooth and delicate to the touch, similar to how I have heard silk described, though I have never held any silk. It's also nearly impossible to damage, betraying the delicate feeling. At the same time it isn't magical at all, there aren't even any gemstones in it. It's really just a nice piece of jewelry, and it is nice.
It fits over my hands perfectly, almost like they were made for me. Which, given Azrezel's extensive knowledge of my body and his ability to quite literally create hands with magic, isn't that big of a stretch. They really are a nice gift.
Anyway, Good Night Diary.
