The commotion was so loud it immediately drew a crowd of students and staff, all craning their necks to see what was happening. "Who is this guy, acting all high and mighty?"
"I think I've seen him before, wasn't he at the mixer with Grace? Must be her boyfriend?"
"Wait, isn't this guy a big shot entrepreneur? Been on the cover of finance magazines a couple of times!"
"Money talks, huh? He thinks he can just walk in here and run the place into the ground, unbelievable..."
As the murmurs grew louder, the person in charge couldn't help but twitch nervously, taking a deep breath.
He didn't want to make a big deal out of Murray's presence, but with all eyes on him, he felt compelled to set the record straight. Their botanical garden wasn't just some playground for the wealthy...
Before he could get a word in, however, Scales and Mamie pushed their way through the crowd, visibly anxious. "Mr. Wilson, we're part of Roseanne's study group. Is she okay? What's the situation?"
Seeing Mamie's genuine concern, Mr. Wilson didn't beat around the bush. "We've located Miss Cole's exact position. She's safe and sound with two others, no major issues."
Mamie let out a huge sigh of relief, "Thank goodness, that's great to hear."
Scales, equally relieved, asked, "If she's been found, why haven't we seen her yet?"
"The emergency button was hit by mistake, locking the exit doors. Our tech team is on their way to fix it," Mr. Wilson explained.
"How long might that take?" Scales inquired.
"Could be a few hours..."
"Is there any way to get some supplies to them in the meantime?"
"That... might not be possible."
Murray, who had been listening in, froze when he heard Roseanne had been found.
After a moment, he reacted, "...Three people? Why are there three of them? Isn't it just Roseanne?"
Mr. Wilson, less patient with Murray,
responded tersely, "Two hours ago, Mr. Reynolds and Mr. Sullivan
arrived and went into the
temperature-controlled zone ahead of us. They've already found Miss Cote, and the three are together now."
Owen Reynolds and Corley Sullivan. Why was he always a step behind?
Why?!
Murray's gaze turned vacant.
At that moment, Grace hurried over and saw Murray with his eyes red, looking lost, a side of him she had never seen before. The usually aloof and composed man seemed utterly transformed by anything related to Roseanne.
Her heart ached, but she smiled, gently taking his arm and soothing him, "Mr. Wilson just said Roseanne is fine, and the tech team is on their way. Let's just wait a little longer, the doors should be open soon..."
Murray remained silent, the thought of Roseanne being with those two men making his chest feel like it was blocked by a boulder, unable to breathe out or swallow.
Hearing Grace, Mr. Wilson's
expression softened, "I understandnoveldrama
you're all worried, but I assure you we're doing everything we can. Nobody wants to be out here in the middle of the night, but we're all trying our best to resolve this as quickly as possible."
He then turned to Murray, "No matter how much you argue or threaten today, it won't change the situation. We're all anxious, but causing a scene won't help. Let's just wait patiently."
