Eliza found herself overwhelmed, with two kids already and another on the way, she wondered how she'd manage.
"Don't worry, I'm here for you," Juan assured her, trying to ease her worries.
"Can you really support us forever?" Eliza asked, as she finished organizing her things and gently patted her growing belly. "Alright then, I guess we're all set."
Thanks to Juan's arrangements, Eliza moved into the hospital a good two weeks early to prepare for the birth. It could have been her imagination or just plain old anxiety, but she often felt like someone was watching her in the dark of night. Every time she opened her eyes, there was nothing there. She chalked it up to pre-birth jitters.
Despite the nerve-wracking wait, the big day finally arrived. Juan, his hands trembling with nerves, escorted Eliza to the delivery room. He was more anxious than she was. "Don't worry, I'll be right outside," he promised. "Okay," Eliza replied.
The delivery wasn't exactly smooth sailing, but compared to when she had Brock, I was a breeze. The baby's loud cries filled the room, and Eliza felt like she'd transformed once more. In the shadows of the hallway, a mysterious figure let out a long sigh of relief. "Mr. Casper, are you sure you don't want to take a peek?" Dillon asked quietly. This belongs to .
Casper's fingers twitched for a moment, but then he shook his head, "No, I'm good."
The delivery room doors opened slowly, and Eliza was wheeled out, looking exhausted yet glowing with the joy of becoming a mother again. She was too wiped out to move, her hair damp with sweat.
As the nurse wheeled her down the corridor, Eliza caught sight of a tall figure she thought she recognized. Dressed head to toe in black, he stood out in the crowd. What was he doing here?
Then she noticed another familiar face. Dillon? What was Dillon doing with this guy? Could it be...
"Juan," Eliza blurted out as a thought hit her, grabbing his arm. "Go check, see if that's Dillon, and if the guy in black is Casper?"
"Dillon? Casper?" Juan was taken aback. "Are you sure you're not seeing things?"
Eliza was insistent, urging him, "They're heading for the elevator, hurry!"
"Alright, alright, I'm going." Juan handed Eliza over to the nurse and dashed off.
He took the stairs down to the first floor, and sure enough, there was Dillon.
"Hey, Dillon," Juan called out. They weren't exactly close, but he knew him well enough. "What are you doing here? Everything okay?"
Dillon looked a bit surprised, while Casper, next to him, pulled his hat down further.
"And this is...?" Juan tried to get a better look at the man, "Have we met before?"
"He's a friend," Dillon quickly said, stepping in front of Casper to block Juan's view. "What brings you here, Juan?"
"Eliza's having the baby today, so of course I'm here," Juan announced, loudly enough for Casper to hear. "Even when things go smoothly, having a baby is no small feat."
en
"Well, we better let you get back to Eliza," Dillon nodded and walked off with Casper in tow.
Juan stood there, scratching his
chin, puzzled by the whole
encounter Eliza was having
Casper's child, and you'd think Diffon, being his assistant, would show
more interest. But he hadn't asked a single question.
Thinking back, wherever Dillon showed up, Casper wasn't usually far behind. And this mysterious guy, although his face was hidden, had
all Same tall build as Casper. After
all, not everyone is six-foot-three. Could it be Casper was alive after all?
