Chapter 556

More Than Just An Apology Kiss

'N-nothing.' Kira looked away.

'Really?' Austyn asked.

'Uh-huh.'

"Then you won't mind me verifying that, will you?'

'Um...'

'Hand me my phone.' It was lying on a table behind Kira.

'Who are you calling?'

'Damian, of course.

Kira pushed Austyn's phone out of sight. 'Damian's probably asleep by now. Let's not disturb him.'

'We're good friends. He won't mind getting disturbed.

'Still, it's not polite to interrupt someone's sleep.' Kira tried to inch away from the bed.

'He's a light sleeper.'

Kira ran out of excuses.

Then she remembered that sometimes, the best defence is a good offence.

Kira crossed her arms and huffed. 'She's your ex-girlfriend, ex-fiancée and the first woman you ever loved. A triple threat. It's hard to believe nothing happened between you two.

'I don't think that's how "triple threat" is supposed to be used.'

'Don't lecture me on semantics!' Kira stabbed a finger in his direction. 'You're changing the subject again! And you still haven't answered my question!' 'Remind me again, what question was that?'

'Did something happen between you two in Trinidonia?'

'What kind of something?'

'You know what kind I mean!'

Austyn narrowed his eyes. 'Are you asking if I slept with her?'

Kira was momentarily thrown by his bluntness.

Then she nodded. 'Well, did you?'

Austyn's chest heaved.

The throbbing pain returned to his wound but he ignored it.

He was too busy getting pissed off.

A vein in his forehead started popping.
