CHAPTER 2527 HARD BARGAIN
Medicine to treat external wounds wasn't challenging to craft for Jared. He made some medicinal powder and told Antonio to apply it on Ali and the others. In just two days, those people were completely healed.
As for Emily's injuries, they recovered within a day under Jared's care, and there weren't even any scars left on her body.
After the villagers knew Jared was an alchemist, they sought his help for their ailments. Jared suddenly became the village doctor. Nevertheless, he was always ready to help those people.
“Jared, we're going to the town to sell the Demon Wolves today. Will you come with us?” Emily asked Jared.
“Sure!” He nodded.
After staying in Rock Village for several days, he wanted to venture out and experience the human culture of the Ethereal Realm.
At that moment, at Rock Village's entrance, Ali and the others had packed up the Demon Wolf carcasses and were waiting for Jared. When they saw the latter approach, they all expressed their gratitude.
Jared had gained significant respect in Rock Village, and the villagers now also considered him one of their own.
The party set off toward the town. The closest town to Rock Village was Quakersville, about a hundred kilometers away. Many nearby villages sold goods in Quakersville and bought household items there.
In truth, life for those lower-tier cultivators in the Ethereal Realm was basic. Although everyone had dreams of becoming immortals, not everyone could ascend to that level. Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
For the lower-tier cultivators, it was rare even for one among millions of them to attain immortality as the path was arduous and required vast resources.
Despite the hundred-kilometer distance, the journey didn't seem long to those cultivators. They used only an hour to reach Quakersville.
Jared was surprised to find Quakersville wasn't as grand as he imagined; it was just a village with a higher population. A square was situated on one side of Quakersville where people sold their goods.
Most were there to sell demon beast carcasses, while some sold odd-shaped stones or spiritual plants, but Jared noticed those items attracted little attention.
Upon arriving, Ali's party didn't sell their goods like others. Instead, they went straight to a stone house. Even before stepping into the place, Jared caught whiffs of a strong stench of blood.
“Mr. Leeson, we've brought goods!” Ali shouted outside the house.
A second later, a burly man stained with blood walked out of the house. After seeing Ali, he said, “Oh, it's you, Ali. What do you have for me today? You haven't been here for a while.”
“Mr. Leeson, I'm here to sell ten Demon Wolf carcasses today!” After saying that, Ali directed his men to place the carcasses on the floor.
The brawny man, Heath Leeson, glanced at the Demon Wolf carcasses and said in disbelief, “Ali, did you all hunt these Demon Wolves?”
“Of course. What else? Do you think we snatched these carcasses from others? We, people of Rock Village, are not like those of Cyan Village, who are just a group of bandits!” Ali was furious at the thought of the villagers from Cyan Village.
Heath glanced at Ali, parting his lips but hesitated.
After dithering for a moment, he uttered, “Ali, I can only offer you five spirit coins per carcass.”
“What? Five spirit coins? That's too little!”
“That's right. A few days ago, we were able to sell one Demon Wolf carcass for twenty spirit coins!”
“Mr. Leeson, you're really driving a hard bargain.”
Right after Heath finished his sentence, the villagers started to complain.
Ali also wore a slight grimace. “Mr. Leeson, we've known each other for some time now. I know how much a Demon Wolf carcass is worth. Isn't five spirit coins per carcass a bit too cheap?”
