going to abandon me too?"
Everett's strikingly handsome face remained unreadable as he held her arms, ready to push her away. Margot, sensing his coldness, quickly added in a pleading voice, "Everett, you promised Ayden you wouldn't leave me. You couldn't save Ayden's child, and now, are you In this world, apart from the heartbeat in his chest, she was the only proof that William had ever lived. As a child, Everett had a weak heart and longed for family support. Unfortunately, his parents were distant, caught up in their own issues and careers, leaving no time for him. Alone in the vast mansion, surrounded by the insincere flattery of the staff, his hope turned to disappointment, and then to numbness. After his first illness, doctors warned he needed a heart transplant soon to survive past twenty.
During his hospital stay, he met William for the first time. William sneaked in, saying he knew his younger brother was sick and wanted to see if he could help. That's when Everett learned he had an older brother, a love child.
He also understood why his parents' relationship was rocky. His mother, Carolina, came from a prestigious family. Upon marrying into the Bennett family, she discovered there was already a one-year-old son, which infuriated and humiliated her.
Josh, Everett's father, was equally outraged and, to appease Carolina, decided to acknowledge the love child but effectively disowned himself from the Bennett family. This left William living in the shadows, unrecognized, a taboo subject within the family.
William's mother had died long ago from exhaustion, and with an absent father, he had to fend for himself from a young age, working odd jobs to survive, clinging to the only rundown house his mother left him.
Despite the Bennett family's harshness, William never blamed Everett. On the contrary, he was incredibly kind to his younger brother. Even on his deathbed, he worried about Everett's health, hoping that his brother would live a full life.
A sudden ache pierced Everett's heart, wondering if William was somehow aware and blaming him. If the child had been born safely, he would have honored William's wish, lessening his need to deal with Margot, which would have pleased Selena and stopped their constant bickering.
But fate had other plans.
Selena, too, had unwittingly played a part in the child's loss. Everett felt his heart soften slightly. He didn't agree or disagree, just gently said, "You should rest."
With those words, he released her hand and walked away without a backward glance.
Margot stood there, frozen,
watching him vanish, biting her lip in frustration Though Everett had

told her... Everett's feelings for Selena might not be just care, he could be falling for her.
Everett himself hadn't realized this love yet because he was a man who didn't believe in love. She had to break them up before he did, or she would never secure her place in this lifetime!
She hurried back to her room,
grabbed her phone, and made a secret call. As soon as it was answered, she bluntly said, "I did everything you asked, but not only did lose the child, my ace, I still

"I want Selena to disappear forever!"
...
Late at night, a chilly wind rustled through the trees. In the yard in front of the mansion, Everett leaned against his car, a cigarette between his fingers. He took a long drag tilting his head back slightly to exhale a ring of smoke.
