Chapter 1022:
Caden narrowed his eyes. He wasn’t going to let her win this one. With a sudden move, he flipped her over, channeling all the pent-up energy he’d saved after dinner.
Afterward, as they cleaned up, Caden didn’t say a word, but one look from him was all it took. Alicia sighed, immediately knowing what he wanted her to do next.noveldrama
“When did we develop such a silent understanding?” Caden asked.
Alicia blinked, her voice sleepy. “Probably a few months after we got together.”
Caden suddenly asked, “And when did you and Corey develop that same kind of understanding?”
The question jolted Alicia. Her gaze snapped to him, startled. So that was what this was all about. She kicked his chest lightly, letting out an exasperated laugh. “You were upset all afternoon over something so petty?”
Caden didn’t even blink. “You call this petty?”
Realizing he was just being childish, Alicia sighed in relief. “Fine, I was wrong. I won’t look at him anymore.”

Caden’s stern expression didn’t budge. “Alicia, what kind of apology is that?”
Alicia groaned dramatically, sliding under the dining table. “You clean up. I’m going to shower.”
Caden could only stare, speechless.
After her shower, Alicia’s hunger returned. She poked her head into the living room where Caden sat on the sofa, scrolling through his phone. “Make me something sweet,” she said.
“Two minutes,” Caden replied without looking up. “What are you so busy with?”
Alicia leaned over, peering at his screen. He didn’t bother hiding it.
Alicia froze when she saw he was browsing photos of beautiful women. “What are you doing?” she hissed.
Caden smirked, pulling her into his lap, his fingers casually pinching her thigh. “Looking for someone I like at first glance.”
She narrowed her eyes. “Are you expanding into the entertainment industry, scouting female artists?”
“No, I need a new secretary.”
Alicia couldn’t believe her ears.
“I’ve been busy lately and could use a second one,” he added.
She stared at him, dumbfounded.
Raising his phone, Caden pointed at a photo. “How about her? She looks smart. I bet she’d know what I’m thinking with one look.”
Alicia’s lips parted, immediately catching his implication. This was his way of getting back at her.
Alicia took a deep breath, her expression calm as she released his neck. “Fine. She’s great. She’s attractive, confident, and a perfect match for you.”
