Chapter 1040:
“Enjoying yourself?” he asked, his voice low and gravelly, still thick with sleep.
Flushing with embarrassment, Alicia quickly replied, feigning ignorance, “You’re dreaming. I wasn’t doing anything!”
Caden, familiar with her playful denials, smiled. He casually unbuttoned his pajama shirt to reveal his well-defined chest, the warmth from his body making Alicia’s cheeks grow even hotter. She found herself captivated by the sight of his muscles, unable to tear her gaze away. Catching her hand, Caden placed it on his collarbone with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
Alicia sighed dramatically, though her lips curved into a smile. “Being married really is great. Touching muscles like these would cost tens of thousands per hour at a club. That’s too expensive. But being your wife means I get to enjoy them for free.”
Caden’s light, affectionate chuckle filled the air. “Sounds like you’re speaking from experience.”
Leaning in, Alicia peppered Caden’s face with kisses. “No, those are just stories from Monica.”noveldrama
This morning, there was something different about Alicia. Her enthusiasm was contagious, her eyes shimmering with emotion and a shy smile gracing her lips. She was irresistibly charming.
Caden seemed to understand her silent request but deliberately delayed gratification. Scooping her up, he carried her to the bathroom to fulfill a playful promise he had made the night before.
Once inside, Caden knelt down, moving with deliberate care and precision.
Alicia, caught between impatience and excitement, inadvertently dug her nails into his shoulders, leaving faint marks. To distract herself, she struck up a conversation. “I heard that the experts at the salon can create intricate designs. Can you manage something like that?”
Caden, focusing on his task, looked up briefly. “What design are you thinking of?”
“A heart, maybe?”
He chuckled. “That’s so overdone.”
“Fine. Then how about your name? Make sure it’s neat and elegant,” she countered.
Caden’s lips curved into a faint smirk, though his focus remained fixed on the task at hand. “You really have high expectations. With such a small space, you want this and that. I might as well write you a novel while I’m at it.”
As he finished, Alicia noticed he had used his razor for the task. “Wait… Did you grab the wrong thing?” she asked in disbelief.
Caden’s gaze met hers, a flicker of mischief and desire lighting his expression. ”
Inside, the air conditioning hummed softly, keeping the atmosphere cool and serene. Alicia leaned against Caden, content and languid, watching people bustling below like busy ants.
Caden kissed the corner of her lips. “How about we head out on the yacht this afternoon?”
