Part 1 – The Guild of Shadow
“Dance of Water!”
Dance of Water is Active
As my body moved automatically to dodge the various attacks that were coming to my way, I observed and counted the number of enemies I was facing.
This is strange....the numbers keep on increasing or decreasing one moment to another. Is this some sort of multiplication or illusion skill? If so this is going to be trouble.
“Double Strike!”
I did two stabs to two of the shadowy figures in one go. The third move in the Impaling Strike Sword Technique is such a move.
“Double Strike! Burst Strike!”
As the battle went on I noticed that the number of enemies eventually increased. Rather than humans, these creatures looked more like ghosts or the sort.
“I had enough of this!” I broke the Lightning and Water Stones.
Water and Lightning stones have been broken
- Corruption will spread faster
- Able to use one high levelled water spell
- Able to use one high levelled lightning spell
Lightning Formation ? Wave Form ? Lightning Wave
Water Formation ? Web Form ? Water Web
Consecutive Casting ? Lightning Wave + Water Web ? Lightning Web
“Lightning Web!”
Lightning gather in my hands and shot out to the shadowy figures and stuck on them like web while dealing lightning damage at the same time.
Stab
You took 575 damage
Another shadowy figure appeared and stabbed me in the arm. Damn, that one wasn't caught in my spell?
“Who the hell are you?!” I shouted.
In response a couple more blades came flying to my direction. Honestly throwing blades at people is very very wrong and that is why I hate people who throw knives at me! Its not the other way, I swear!
“Tch.”
The number of shadowy figures increased once more and there were now about 30 of them against me. The ones that were hit by my spell disappeared while new ones took their place. This is getting more and more troublesome by the second.
In that case I'll use that.
“SWORD!”
Golden Sword has been Created
I summoned the golden sword and flung it at the body of one of the shadowy figures. It pierced the shadowy figure into a tree.
“Arh!”
The 30 or so other shadowy figures disappeared from sight or existence....
I walked up to the person who attacked me noticing that the sword was reacting to the shadowy figure. If that was the case then the sword was sealing something from that person. Does this mean I can use the sword to seal abilities from enemies?
“Damn you!” said the shadowy figure. He dropped something on the ground and crushed it using his foot and some weird coloured smoke came out.
Puff
You are poisoned, you will lose 5 mana/second
All stats will be reduced to 30%
Crap...
Cough Cough Cough
Damn I never knew that poison actually hurt like hell!
Or is it this type of poison I inhaled? Besides the fact that my throat hurt like hell, my eyes also watered and my skin felt like it was burning up. My body also felt a lot heavier and more sluggish. Was this due to the stat reduction from the poison? No, poison from what I remember only affects health....but there are stuff in this game that can buff or debuff your character when consumed.
I only over a little over a hour to survive this. I made this fact clear before anything else. It would be very embarrassing to end up in Morata after 4 days and ask the old priest to teleport me back here again.
I have to get the antidote. Usually those who carry poison will have the antidote just in case as well. With that I intended to get it off this guy whether he likes it or not.
“Damn give me the-eh?”
I looked and found that the shadowy figure was gone and the sword covered in red blood was all that was left behind which soon disappeared into golden particles due to me not sustaining it anymore.
Did that person just leave me to die from poison? I swear when I see that person again I'll.....but first I need to be cured from the poison. Where am I anyway?
I looked around to find myself in some sort of ruins. The teleport circle is working fine but has no one to operate it. The building seemed to be destroyed quite some time ago while all the furnitures inside are either missing or smashed up. It looks like someone raided this place a while ago....years ago.
I checked my mana to find that there was no chance that the poison will stop any time soon. I need a priest or someone similar to get rid of the poison.
“This can't get worse.” I muttered as nothing bad was going to happen.
“Grrrrrr”
You got to be kidding me.
I looked around to find myself surrounded by wolves. Not just any common wolves but they looked bigger and much stronger than the beginner wolves and werewolves.
Name: Shadow wolves
Level: 200+
Type: The type that will appear when you really don't want to see them
Strengths and Weaknesses: Kinda average and similar to Dire wolves in many ways. However they seem to be able to hide their presence until their prey is weakened and attack all at once.
This is not your lucky day Eden, narrator out!
Seriously now this damn voice appears out of nowhere again. While there were a couple of them in the light, I could swear that I could see a lot more in the shadows in the woods around me. I looked to my left to see there was some sort of man made path.
I wouldn't recommend going there just yet. These guys can easily set of an ambush to take you down in a flash.
Then do you expect me to fight them!?
Yes I do since there are literally hundreds of them around you right now.
Then can't I just run away?
Your stats are lower right now. You won't have enough speed to escape. Besides, these guys are cowards. Show them that you mean business and they'll leave you alone.
I have no choice either way do I. I backed away from the wolves that were slowly surrounding me to a wall and stood there staring at them. Why the hell won't they attack?
Because you don't have an opening.
In that case. I raised my sword and aimed at one of the wolves near me.
“Burst Strike!”
My body moved forward to stab but it was a lot slower than I expected. Damn is this the effects of only having less than a third of my stats to use? However I still managed to catch the wolf I was aiming for off guard and stabbed my sword into its head killing it in one shot.
Fatal Hit!
It seems that I still have enough power to take them down.
I checked my mana and found that I had another hour or so to play around with these guys.
BITE
You took 288 damage
A wolf bit my leg and the rest leaped at me at once the moment I couldn't move.
Neutral Formation ? Mana Shield
“Mana Shield!”
I created a mana shield which blocked their attacks. However it was weaker than before due to my debuffed stats right now. The solution to this is easy, I just have to counter the debuff with a stronger bluff.
“First Seal Release!”
Releasing the First Seal gives the following benefits:
- Spell Damage Increases by 100%
- Spell Range Increase by 60%
- Mana Absorption is Activated
- Strength is Increased by 20%
- Agility in Increased by 40%
- Movement Speed Increases by 15%
- Defence Increases by 20%
- Resistance to Magic Increases by 15%
- Fighting Spirit is increased by 20%
Time Limit: 3 Hours
I didn't bother releasing the second seal since it would actually be overkill if I did that. However thanks to this, my mana absorption kicked in and my mana rapidly increased again. Although my stats at most would increase back to around 60% of what it was originally, it was more than enough to take care of a couple of wolves.
Dance of Water was still active at this stage and after deactivating the mana shield I made, I went around cutting the wolves into pieces.
After slaying a couple of them, the wolves retreated and disappeared from sight. Well that was easier than I thought.
I told you that they were cowards. They only hunt down the weakened mostly for food while they hunt stronger beasts in masses when they want to get stronger. Anyway the path you saw should be safe now.
I don't like it when you of all people say safe.
Shut it, or I'll make you face a dragon next time.
….
I decided to ignore those words using the first seal release state to counter the poison effects. This would mean I would have a maximum of 3 hours or perhaps more if I activated and deactivated it in intervals that would fully regenerate my mana at a time.
But the best thing was to get rid of the poison in my body to begin with. According to the old priest and llyfr when he can talk to me, my body can certain features that I can use if I try had enough to use. I think this body has a method to get rid of poison.
I sat in the ruined church mediating and focusing on purging the poison out of my body.
Cough
I spat out some blood though I didn't take any damage...well even if I took damage I would recover almost immediately.
Poison effects weakens
The seconds passed, minutes passed and soon hours passed as I slowly got rid of the poison. Eventually the effects of the poison weakened and weakened in front of my eyes.
Poison has been purged form body
You have gained the skill 'Poison Purging'
Poison Purging Beginner Level 1
Through the use of skilfully manipulating the body, you are able to eject harmful substances from your body. Though a bit unsightly, it is effect however you are vulnerable in this state.
Poison Resistance: 5%
A skill generated thanks to my actions and I even got some poison resistance as well on top of that. Well this trip wasn't completely wasted after all.
Part 2 – New Town, New Face, New Rule
“This place looks a bit...ragged” I commented observing the first town I found on the way.
Well it really was compared to Morata which looked pleasant to the eyes. Of course this was due to the large amount of artistic class players in that town which literally left no stone not engraved.
The first place I wanted to find was the information guild where he could find as much as he could on this portion of the continent. Unlike the northern part of the continent where it was mostly ice lands, the western continent from his knowledge was more like wastelands for there were small groups together surviving the place.
“Can I get a map of this area and also of the landscape in general” I asked the receptionist at the information guild.
Although the receptionist was....very frightened of me mostly due to his very high infamy, he did give me the maps I wanted and left me in peace.
His thoughts must have lean towards the fact that I may leave him in pieces if he didn't cooperate.
Hmm....it seems there is a good perk on having high infamy. Well at most people would only give me weird looks.
I went to a corner of a room that the information guild had rent out for me on courtesy and definitely not because I threatened them at all....
At this point I decided opened the maps to examine them in closer details since I rather not be lost in an area of this part of the continent. I'm not like Alexandra who naturally has a bad sense of direction.
Another benefit I got from being connected with the church of Freya was that they taught me how to read maps which was actually a god sent since Alexandra seemed to prefer going off the main path when we travel....
It was actually really simple if the map was well made but most maps were very cruel in details which was kinda disappointing though expected since these people in the game did not have the equipment to make maps of the quality in the real world at mass.
Let's see......this area is mostly the forest area. The further west you go it'll eventually turn into a wastelands area with swamps and eventually there would be mountains. According to this map, there are several areas which are undiscovered due to the large portion of it being blocked by poisonousness swamps. To the south the place transcend into desert where there are sand monsters or monsters that live in the sand that are all pretty high levelled. To the north you'll get lakes spread all over the place which have flooded and thunderstorms which kill players if they're unlucky.
Overall, this place is a death-trap for unprepared players though the northern and southern continent are far worst. The Eastern continent has been ravaged by countless swarms of monsters as well so the safest place would be the central continent....if you exclude the guild dominations in that area.
Quite frankly there are so many guilds in that place that if you wanted to hunt in a dungeon if you could even get access to one, more than often you would be forced to hand over all the loot you gain if you do not want to earn the wraith of the guild that owns it. Plus you had to pay a fee to use the dungeon in the first place which means you lose money and the guild gains money no matter what you do.
This is the main reason why I was somewhat glad to start off in a town where guilds were almost non-existent due to the consent monster invasions. Well I had never actually been a part of the monster defence unit in Kallamore but someday when everything is done, I may just go back for a while before settling in somewhere.
“Excuse me.....are you fine?”
The person who came in was a young boy with long black hair. The majority of his face was covered with his hair but he looked like the type to be picked on.
“Yes I am. You know a lot about this area in general right?” I asked. I do want to know the history of this place. It is a poor habit I had since the beginning. Besides knowing some of the history may help me later on.
“Ye-Yes I do!” the boy nervously answered.
“First off, give me the back story or whatever on this town. I'm new in town.”
If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.
The boy was a but shocked on my request but still followed through.
“This place has no name since under the law of the Tri Guilds it is said only the leader of them has the power to do so. If anyone decides to name a town, they will be hunted down.”
No name? Plus a group of guilds that don't let people name towns. That's unusual.
“We often refer towns using the guilds that inhabit them. This guild is under the rule of the Banner Guild and we refer it as the Banner Guild town.”
“What happens if a guild has more than one town under them?”
“Then they are ordered in when they took over like Banner Guild town A, B and so on.”
Such a system....how much power does this Tri Guilds have to force so many people at once to obey them. Even the central guilds and Kings don't have that kind of power. Sure they can say the town doesn't have a name but people will still use the name but these people won't no matter what.
“How long has this system been here? The no name system.” I asked.
“I don't know. My grandfather said it was the same in his time ever since the Key was lost and the last leader died.”
Key.....lost.....don't tell me.
“Your not referring to the Key of Magaris right? I heard some....rumours (Definitely not because I actually have the key) that it belongs to the guild of Shadow.”
With those words the boy went completely pale in fear. So is it because this guild of Shadow is that dangerous or that I know of them or both.
“How....you......RUN!” the boy screamed.
However I didn't even move one inch from the spot. Then 5 people appeared cloaked in black clothes armed and most likely hostile to me. They all looked differently but I couldn't see their face due to them covering it.
Everyone in the room which only consisted of me, the boy and these five were silent for a while until one of the five decided to talk.
“You know of us, who are you?” asked the tall thin one with a dagger pointed at my throat.
The short one who had equipped claws said, “There's no point since we'll kill this one as well!”
The other three nodded to the words of the short one. Since the other three didn't say anything after that, I have no choice but to describe them to the readers intentionally. There was one with a large body as in the body that you won't even get if you took steroids and was more likely to be half giant or something wielding a hammer. Then there was one with a skull mask with a staff at hand.
And finally there was the shadowy figure I encounter recently.
“Oh! The multiplying one! Its been a couple of hours since you left me in your poison gas. How's your stomach? More than that, how is your skill? Is it still sealed? I never used it to used it to seal a skill of a person so I don't know how long it may last.” I cheerfully said ignoring the fact that these guys are pretty much about to kill me.
The four stared at the one I was have a one way conversation with. There were a couple of emotions on their faces or rather eyes as they looked at him. Mostly anger and disappointment.
“Oh so this is the one who escaped you” said the masked one, “Good, we can get rid of this stain on our name.”
Eh, so you already decided to try and kill me at this point?
I noticed that the masked man gathered a large amount of mana in the staff while pointing it at me. That will hurt a lot if it hits me. In fact at this range, it will hurt whether I dodge it or not since the shockwave will still damage me.
But that's only if he can attack first.
“I wouldn't do that if I were you.” I warned the masked man.
The masked man smirked at me knowing his advantage.
“Why should any of us listen to you? We have you outnumbered and one of us can easily kill you.”
I smiled and said, “Because”, and gathered a large amount of energy into my sword and let it glow powerfully for them to see, “You will all die if you do.”
I let out the ridiculous amount of fighting spirit I had gained. It was over 300 plus I had my domination stat as well which was over 100.
This alone allowed me to me stronger than I seemed to many people. One of the main reasons why the flies in Morata didn't approach me was that they felt death if they went near me in both mind and body.
“Let's test that out then” replied the masked man.
However at the same time the 5 let out their fighting spirits as well. I noticed that they had a black aura around them which....made sense since they are of the guild of shadow or know them at least.
At this point it was a contest of whom fighting spirit was higher and who will attack first.
Then the tall thin one stopped and said, “This is glow coming from the sword.....Divine Energy? And this overwhelming pressure I can feel from you that can't come from humans. What are you?”
It seems this one is sharper than the others to have known it was a bad idea to fight me. Well they still had the numbers advantage but I still had a lot to offer if I unleash everything without restrains.
For some reason the tall thin one increased the aura that was around his body which was very strange. Was he trying to actually fight me or not? It seems the others didn't really care at all though as they stayed the same.
In that case I should play with them a bit more. I increased my 'aura' to the maximum like what the 4 were doing to me. They were emitting an aura....emit? Let me try that....I just need to pour out something that was similar to mana out right?
Zing~
As I was copying them a Golden Aura came out of my body similar to what they were doing and I couldn't help to notice that it was similar to Alexandra's Holy Aura.
But it was more glittery and at the same time bland compared to Alexandra's one.
“Wow, first try and I get this” I said out loud.
You have gained the skill 'Battle Aura'
Battle Aura Beginner Level 1

Attack increase: 15%
Fighting Spirit increase: 20%
Drains Stamina to use when Active
How interesting, all I did was copy what those guys were doing and I gained a skill already! I immediately expanded this battle aura of mine to surround everyone in this room. It was as if a large storm just appeared out of nowhere and I was the centre of it.
The black aura that the 4 had going was immediately shattered and they were blown away.
Fighting Spirit increase by 1
Domination increase by 1
Oh stats! How nice!
“Stop! The boy is....!” shouted the tall thin man.
I looked over and saw that the boy was.....chocking....?
I immediately retracted the battle aura back into me which felt more like hundreds of rubber bands being pulled and shot at me. After the odd feeling I looked to see that the boy had fainted from the....well my battle aura and the tall thin man was holding him.
“George! George! Are you all right?!” the man screamed frightened of losing the boy.
“Don't worry, he just fainted. He's going to be fine with some rest.” I answered almost instinctively.
From the feeling I had from the boy, it felt like he was going to be fine as long as he rested.....why did I feel that?
The tall thin man looked at me with hatred and said, “And how do you know that?!”
“A hunch.”
“What hunch? He could've died!”
He took his dagger out and pushed me to the wall and held the dagger with its tip on my throat. Oh god...its going to hurt like hell if he stabs me. I looked to see that the other four were backing away.
“...”
I just messed with someone I shouldn't have again didn't I. Damn this is going to be more trouble than its worth but...what the hell.
I took around 6000 mana and converted them for one of my skills.
“Sword.”
Golden Swords have been Created
6 Golden swords appeared and were floating near each person in the room besides me of course.
“What the...?”
They were pointed towards each person and I made sure that the sword above the boy would narrowly miss if something bad happened. I may be some sort of monster but I rather not kill children. That would definitely mess me up if I did.
“What is this....?” The tall thin man looked in anger at me until he saw a golden sword pointed at the boy which at this point made him angrier than before.
“Get back, or else.” I said plainly in a threatening tone like I didn't care what happened to anyone in this room.
I really didn't like to threaten people....I like to torture them into submission so there's no chance of counter attacks from the back.
Almost like a wounded animal the tall thin man backed away slowly but still glared at me at all times.
“Now, would you like to talk with or without the swords hanging to kill you at once?” I asked in a natural way.
I looked around and they weren't exactly responding to my threat. In that case I should use that. They probably knew that they could dodge or block it but I can probably kill one of them with this tactic, it was a matter of who will die first.
“Damn, this is getting troublesome.”
I took out the Key from the quest I got and showed it to them.
Ding
You have completed the quest: The Key of Magaris
You have levelled up
You have levelled up
Hmm....I completed the quest just like that? Or is there more to this....?
Wide open they kneel down to me almost forcefully as if they were puppets and something moved them. The tall thin man glared at me and said, “How the hell did you get that Key?!”
I smiled and asked, “What does this Key mean to you?” like a villain who just obtained the weakness of the hero.
Part 3 – The Guilds of Shadow and Light
Right now I was stuck in an very very awkward position. I was sitting on one end of a long table which with me sited a total of 12 people. To be more precise I was sitting with the five I had encountered in the information guild...why is that I always seem to find trouble in information guilds....sigh.
“Where are we?” I asked honestly.
“You don't need to know.” the tall thin man retorted immediately. It seems I have did something I shouldn't have by taking the boy named George as a hostage.
Meh, I have more enemies than I count by just being a destroyer of sovereigns. Practically every King and Noble in the world is my enemy and they only not at against me due to the very wide influence of the churches throughout the lands.
“Anyway what do you want?” asked the tall thin man getting straight to the point.
“Information, nothing much.”
The tall thin man's eyebrow raised an inch at my words, “It depends on what you want.”
The other four didn't seem to react at all to these words so I think its fine for me to demand something.
“Temple of Dragon.” I said.
“I refuse.” he answered immediately. Was it because he didn't want to give information to me at all or is this particular topic is not allowed or something? Either way I have to get information off of this man....else I'll be stuck searching through this part of the continent for months.
“In that case, Guild of Shadow.”
“I refuse.”
I sighed. This is getting troublesome. Those were the two things that I wanted information on the most out of everything right.
“...”
The tall thin man stared at me.
“?”
“Who are you? For someone to know of us and the temple of Dragons, its better to ask what are you?”
I sighed again. This is going to be very difficult to explain and I rather not explain it all to this person whom I have no relation to. I looked at my right hand which only had three stones out of five on it.
Crack
Just then one of the stones broke into pieces which meant I had a while more until things goes bad.
Stone of Fire Broke
The tall thin man as some sort of thief or assassin class immediately noticed the fact that the stone on one of my rings broke.
“What's the deal with that” the tall thin man eyed the broken piece of stone however the stone soon turned into dust and disappeared.
“You don't need to know” I smiled at him masking the fact that my body was slowly changing faster than before now.
I better remake the stones to avoid the worse outcome besides...turning to 'that' again.
“Where are 'they'? They should've gotten our message already.” said the tall thin man.
“They should be here in a bit. They just entered the building.”
The tall thin man looked at me and said, “Just as a warning, don't piss these people off as well. The Guild of Light can openly hunt you down.”
“Yo! It's been a while since a meeting has been called Thinny!” boomed a loud vibrant voice.
From the same door that we entered came another 5 people dressed in white and gold which was the polar opposite of the assassin group who was with me. No, there was 6, the last one was almost literally hidden behind the other 5.
I observed each and every one of them. The one with the loud voice was also a large man with a huge stature, next to him there was a young beautiful woman and an equally handsome young man. Then behind the three were two old men that looked similar and finally there was the child who looked really out of place. I noticed that he carried a dagger or key that was the same in design as mine but had a different colour scheme.
With that everyone sat down at the long table.
“Now let's begin the first true meeting between the Guild of Shadow and Guild of Light in over a century.” said the leader of the Guild of Light whom looked at me with interest.
