Vol.4 Chapter 5 - Kraken Issues

Part 1 – A nice.....vomit session

“Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrggggggg”

My mouth taste like vomit.....no vomit did come out of my mouth....

“Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrggggggg”

Why.....do I....get sea sick......

“Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrggggggg”

I was half leaning over the edge of the ship. It was a small ship compared to the giant battleship that was wreck by the Sea God Poseidon but it was large enough to fit the 30 or so players that want to go to Morata by sea. I believe this was a mistake for me since I am currently too sick to care about anything.

“Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrggggggg”

Seriously it would be fine if someone else was sick as well.....but even Alexandra wasn't sea-sick. Damn I wished I had a way to make her sea-sick. I curse you to get sea-sick. I curse you!

“Why do I think you're wishing to make me suffer like you” said the person that was the target of my internal cursing.

I looked at her with hatred before vomiting again.

“Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrggggggg”

“Well I think some people who get sea-sick aren't used to the rocking of the ship rather than being truly sea-sick. Though I doubt it will disappear in only one trip that will last for at least 2 weeks.” she laughed after she finished that sentence.

Damn it....the first moment I get....I will kill you....

“Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrggggggg”

Damn it....its only the first day and I'm already in this state......I probably won't last for the next 2 weeks at this rate.

“I heard the best solution to this is to lie down somewhere the rocking is at minimum and eat something.” said Viv who was actually concern about me due to his kind nature.

An image of Viv sitting on an incapacitated Royal Knight appeared in my head the moment I thought Viv had a kind nature. Perhaps the most scary one of the three of us was Viv.

“Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrggggggg......I think I'll try that....” I said before stumbling to the middle of the ship and lying down.

I looked around to see that the dozen or so crew members were running around doing their work while other players and some merchant NPCs were lazing around doing nothing at all. Well I wasn't doing anything as well since I am kinda sea-sick here but to think that other than hunting and killing things, most players can't do anything else but that.

[If you have time to spare then you should practice some magic if you can't move well enough]

llyfr have you forgotten that I am SEA-SICK here? Much less moving I can't even think straight!

[Well you can think well enough to argue with me. Hurry up and take out a mana fragment so you can do something instead of sitting here like a bum!]

Yes sir.......maybe I'll find a way to cancel sea-sickness while I'm at it.

I took out the mana fragment and stared at it. Soon enough details came out about it. Now that I think about it, this is the first time I actually checked a mana fragment. I usually could tell since I could sense the massive amount of mana coming out of it.

Mana Fragment

A piece of time essence that mankind has no way of examining right now. Each fragment holds a tremendous amount of energy in them to the point where it was forcefully extract the true potential of the wielder. However this item is extremely dangerous and unknown side-effects will occur.

- Unlocks the full potential of user

- Negates any negative effects on user

- Unknown Side-Effects will occur if used for long periods of time

- Effects on user can be adjusted if a powerful enough being monitor and controls the mana fragment

“Umm...llyfr...I really don't want to use this thing.”

[Don't worry about the side-effects. It won't affects you much since I'll control it enough for you to practice]

“Well.....if you say so.”

I clenched the mana fragment and its light covered me. However the light was a lot smaller and dimer than the one that occurred in Lovreign.

Seal on Magic has been released temporary with the power of a mana fragment

The mana fragment disappeared or rather was absorbed into me which is another detail that I did not realise before. Well I hope that other people don't realise that I have done something to me. Hmm? My sea-sickness is gone......

“llyfr......I'm going to practise magic for the entire trip.....with no breaks.” I proclaimed with a voice low enough that people will think I'm mumbling to myself.

[Well then, let's start with some training to increase your skill in Consecutive Casting. You should ask the captain to give you some space to practice]

Right.

I ran to over where the captain was shouting orders to the crew.

“Captain~” I shouted with my most girlish voice in order to corrupt....I mean convince the captain.

He turned to me immediately and said in a harsh tone, “What is it girl?”

“Can I use the back of the ship to do some training?~” I managed to put some sparkles in my eyes as I said that.

“No.” he replied immediately and bluntly.

Damn. Now what do I do? Well I could convince him in other ways but and it doesn't make me feel like I'm vomiting when I try to act all cute and such.

“Eden why are you trying to seduce the captain?” asked Viv in an innocent voice.

Cough

You have taken 666 damage

I looked to see that blood was coming out of my mouth. Damn the mental damage to took of my mine was transferred as actual physical damage?

“More importantly how come you're not sea-sick anymore?” asked Alexandra seeing that I wasn't vomiting every couple of seconds.

I grabbed the two and pulled them away from the captain's range of hearing and said, “I'll tell you later. Help me convince him to give me....or us if you prefer some space.”

Several moments later....

The captain was bowing down to us and was begging saying, “I'll let you do anything. Spare the life of this crew at least.”

His body was completely stiff in fear. He was completely still in waiting for the answer that would determine the life or death of himself and everyone else on his ship. I looked at Alexandra wondering what she did to make this proud man submit to her.

“Fine, I just I have no choice to accept that you have to live. However we get to play with the back of the ship for the rest of the trip.” said Alexandra flinging her hair in the air with the look of disgust on how the captain is acting to her.

She signalled me and Viv to follow her and we did to the back of the ship where everyone was cleared out. There was food and even beds for us as well prepared for us. I seriously want to know what the hell did she did in order to control of all them like this.

Alexandra turned to me and said, “Well then, let's spar again.”

Part 2 – The Second Spar

The three of us moved all of the things that were in the way of the sparing. The other members of the crew and the other players simply watched since they didn't want to get in the bad side of Alexandra which they've seen made even the captain bend. Eventually we has some space to spar but it was a bit smaller than the space we had in the blade master guild and there was the risk that one of us (namely me) would be throw off the ship and left to die in the sea.

I took out my Divine Blade and waited for Alexandra to do the same. We were 3 metres apart and the total width of the back of the ship was a good 8 metres wide. There were a number, namely all of the other players were interested in the match between me and Alexandra. Well they were bored out of their minds and wanted some entertainment to past the time. Viv was acting as the referee of the match as well so the audience has 1 beauty, 1 trap and 1 person who changed from one to another to drool on.

Viv looked at both of us waiting for the signal.

“Remember, no skills”, he looked at Alexandra's Sword Wave, “or magic on this ship,” he looked at me next, “else we may all drown when the ship gets destroyed.”

He looked to see that we understood this. It wasn't exactly our fault that both of us were the powerhouse type that would destroy everything in sight with our attacks.

Viv move his hand up and then swung it down indicating that match began with the words, “Begin!”

Almost immediately Alexandra went to the offensive which means from what I gathered in the last match was that she was going to attack and attack until she wins. She knows that I suck at defence as well so...it was kinda understandable that she wants to attack first. But I have different plans.

“Dance of Water.”

Dance of Water has been activated

When Alexandra swung to hit me with the intent of killing me for some reason, my body reacted to it immediately and dodged it by a hair's breeze.

“Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh” echoed the audience. At that moment I completely ignored the audience from the battle.

Alexandra knows that I have this skill and she knows what to do to stop it. Namely push me until the skill cannot support me anymore and then finish me off.

Alexandra swung at me two more times and then said, “Holy Aura.” Light covered her body and her speed double....no tripled. Damn did she level this skill into the Advance levels without me knowing? Now I think about it, all I know is that Viv's skills are in the Advance levels and Alexandra's skills are like my one in the Beginner or Intermediate level. But it seems she practised enough to have some skills other than sword wave in the advance levels.

Alexandra swung her sword that was slightly shorter than my one at least 6 times in one moment. Damn even I have to admit she is a monster.

My 'Dance of Water' could not keep up so I had to move to parry some of the attacks. One attack graze my arm. I could see that she was happy that she could hit me. Damn how high was her agility now?

“Crusader Sprint!” she cried as she sped up even more.

Shit...First Seal Release!

Releasing the First Seal gives the following benefits:

Time Limit: 3 Hours

My body was a bit faster than before managed to leap out of the way of the attacks of Alexandra.

Neutral Formation ? Mana Shield

A bubble that was my mana shield appeared around me.

BREAK!

Mana Shield has broken

My mana shield was broken in an instance and Alexandra moved in to attack again.

“God Damnit!”

“Body Transformation!”

My hands ripped apart and turned into its true form.

Body Transformation: Hands of the Betrayer is now active

You will gain the following Bluffs while this is active:

- Weapon and Unarmed combat speed will increase by 10%

- Strength in hands will increase by 10%

- Defence in hands will increase by 10%

- Able to parry attacks bare-handed to a certain extent

WARNING: Normal NPCs will believe you are a Demon when they see your hands

With the slight increase in speed of my hands I swung to clash with Alexandra's attacks.

CLASH!

You have taken 375 damage from the shock wave

I was blown back from the single attack that Alexandra used. As I was getting my footing, Alexandra continued her rentless attacks.

“Burst Strike!”

My body moved forward into the barrage of attacks and was blocked before my sword could hit her.

“Burst Strike!”

I pushed again but Alexandra moved around my attack. I gripped my sword and twisted it, turning the stab into a swing to the left where Alexandra was.

Clang

However even that was blocked by her ridiculous speed. I sighed at the fact that even with this, I couldn't hit her once and she was disabled as well.....well I was as well since I couldn't use offensive magic. Well her agility was high enough to the point that 'Dance of Water' was useless so I might as well deactivate it for now.

“Dance of Water Deactivate.”

Dance of Water has been Deactivated

At this rate I'm going to end of dead from the attacks. Alexandra has more strength and agility than me in the first place and her skills amplified it even more to the point where I can't keep up with her.

Her melee abilities are right now on the same level as the high level 300 players. However my melee abilities at most are in the level 200 range. There at almost a 200 level difference in abilities. Well at least I don't have to worry about losing too much mana in this place. I'm absorbing 4 mana per second from every one here.

I put up my stance.

Six Strike Stance has been set up

“Eden are you giving up the fight?” asked Alexandra mockingly.

“Why don't you find out” I taunted back.

Second Seal Release!

Releasing the Second Seal gives the following benefits:

- Mana Increases by 10000

- Gives Rapid Mana Regeneration of 100 mana/second

- All Skills rank up by 1

- Spell Damage Increases by 100%

- Agility in Increased by 50%

- Movement Speed Increases by 20%

- Defence Increases by 30%

- Resistance to Magic Increases by 15%

- Fighting Spirit is increased by 40%

Time Limit: 30 Minutes

With this my agility is doubled though it'll still much slower than Alexandra's triple speed and with her 'Crusader Sprint' its even worse.

Alexandra prepared to attack and said, “Crusader Sprint” before disappearing for a moment and reappearing in front of me.

My natural instincts would tell me to get away from her but my teachings tell me to move forward to attack. And so I did that. I took a step forward and swung at the same direction as Alexandra's own sword not because I wanted to but because my instincts told me if I didn't then I would've died.

Clang~

I expected myself to be blown away again even with my increased strength but I was standing there neck to neck with Alexandra with our swords rubbing against each other as we tried to push forward.

Glow~

My sword decided it was right thing to do something which was glowing....wait....didn't it have those two skills. My sword's light came out and surrounded my arms and a message appeared.

Enchant Body has been activated

- 50% increase in Strength and Agility

- Mana will decrease by 500 mana per minute

Oi oi oi.....this was really good but really resource draining at the same time. Then my sword surrounded itself in the same light as well.

Enchant Sword has been activated

- Sword will deal Double Damage

- Stamina will decrease more rapidly

With a flash of new strength I pushed Alexandra back in sheer power and leaped to do the finishing blow while she was stunned. A blur occur where her sword was. She was about to stab me as well.

“O forest, O fierce forest. Your leaves have flown countless lands, countless seas and have lay on the four corners of this world. Light and water gives strength to your children and I ask that you Bind the ones that disrupt this balance. Binding Roots!”

However just when we were about to stab each other my vision stopped and my body couldn't move.

“The match is over.” said Viv who was using his 'Grow Roots' skill to stop me. Well it was one of the variations of the skill at least. I'm pretty sure that Viv has a couple of other ones up his sleeves.

After a few seconds to gather my thoughts again Viv let me out and I deactivated all of my skills and resealed myself in order to stop my mana absorption.

Both me and Alexandra sighed at the fact that we couldn't finish each other out.

“Well then, this match is a tie.” said Viv after letting the audience calm down.

““WHAT?!”” both me and Alexandra shouted.

Viv used her skill again to make the roots disappear and and addressed us with a cold stare. In that moment, me and Alexandra calmed down immediately and waited for Viv to finish talking.

“Though both of you are restricted.....heavily with any skills that could kill us all, it was still a violent match where several times the audience was almost killed. I had to stop them from dying.”

He looked at us with discontent.

“As a pure melee fighter, Alexandra was definitely stronger and her 'Holy Aura' and 'Crusader Sprint' further increase this to ridiculous levels. Eden as you saw, Alexandra was truly frightening with only that. If she could've added in her 'Sword Wave' and we all agree that she would, than nothing would be left of you.”

Alexandra spoke up then, “Then it should be my victory then.”

Viv looked at Alexandra with his cold stare and ordered, “Quiet, I'm not done yet!”

Alexandra shivered away into submission. Viv then looked at me.

“Eden is weaker as a pure melee fighter but you agreed not to use your magic that was frankly more frightening then what Alexandra could do anyway. Though you are above average in terms of fighting with a sword, you are nowhere at the level of Alexandra who only fights with a sword no matter what. However you have several....skills that allow you to match Alexandra evenly in the end. Your sword helped with that with its unique characteristics.”

Then he turned to both of us at the same time.

“The reason why this match is a tie is because at the last moment, you two were about to kill each other. I know that both of you have more to offer but I am afraid that in the end, a city or two might be destroyed before the fight is finished. However I will stop you two before that happens okay.” Viv smiled at us but it was completely cold. I felt no kindness in it at all.

Then as the audience was about to burst with chatter, Viv turned to them and said in his cold voice, “Don't you all have something to do?”

The atmosphere immediately dropped to the lowest level as the audience literally dragged themselves away from this place. When the other players left, Viv turned to us and smiled in his usual bright smile. While I was happy that Viv was back to normal, I could still see the shadow of his smile which frightened me.

Now I think about it, Viv's true personality is kinda a mystery to me. At first he was shy, then he acted similar as Alexandra in teasing me and now this.....devil like one. I wonder....nah. Neither Alexandra nor Viv has tried questioning about me so I rather not try to question them as well.

Part 3 –  Kraken

It has been three days since the spar and we have not fought since. This was due to the fact that Viv refused to let us spar on the ship anymore and he was the only one that could stop us when we both went into battle mode. Because of that, we couldn't do serious sparing so we resorted to minor training where Alexandra helped me level my skills in swordsmanship and helped me combine my fighting style with the use of magic.

Usually I had to use some hand gestures in order to correctly cast a spell in the direction I wanted it to go but now I could use some minor spells my casting them next to me instead of directly using my hands with my sword at hand and while fighting. Naturally I could cast spells away from me before but I couldn't do that while swinging a sword at the same time. This training was to let me do both at the same time which made me similar....or rather exactly the same as a magic-swordsman.

When my training with Alexandra ended and she went to do her own training I went to llyfr in order for him to help me with my pure magic training with Viv. Apparently Viv now had all of his skills besides 'Grow Roots' in the Advance Levels and even master some of them. His contract to the Forest God even allowed him use his 'Grow Roots' skill to bind things as well as serve as an offensive weapon and a defensive shield.

Well enough explanation on what happened and onto what is happening right now!

“Hey......are those ships?” I asked the relaxing Alexandra next to me. I focused my eyes to try and see them better.

“Hmm?.....don't care......” muttered this lazy person next to me.

I muttered under my breath after looking at her and then shifted my focus back to the ships. From one of them, a bright light appeared. It was red.....and was getting closer.....wait, that's no light, that's a fireball!

BOOOM

“You got to be kidding me”

The fireball hit the back of the ship and left a black mark. The ship shook a bit on impact and the captain among others ran to the back where we were to see what the hell happened. One of the crew took out a telescoped and after a second screamed, “Pirate!”

With that, all of the crew members went hay-wire in bringing out the cannons and such from under the deck. The other players were pretty much lost on what to do. Well almost all of them. Thankfully there were some high levelled players with us that knew what to do when under attack.

If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the infringement.

They all immediately stationed near the back of the ship to see what their target will be. The 5 smaller ships that have been following us were all deemed enemies but they did not have a black flag or anything like that.

“Activate Body transformation!”

Body Transformation: Eyes of the Condemned is now active

You will gain the following Bluffs while this is active:

- Seeing Distance will increase by 15%

- Able to see more clearly at night

- Blindness effect will be less effective

- To a certain extent, you will be able to see the souls of others

- Eyes will Glow in the Dark

WARNING: Normal NPCs will believe you are a Demon when they see your eyes

My eyes transformed again as I gained better vision on the enemy ships. The extra 15% seeing distance kinda helped but the smaller details were left out. The distance was pretty far but I could tell that there were quite the number of people on each ship. Perhaps they could outnumber us.

Several more fireballs and other spells were fired at us.

“GET OUT THE WAY!!!” shouted the Captain as he steered the ship to try and avoid most of the fireballs launched at us.

The fireballs mostly hit the hull of the ship but some managed to pierce the sails which lowered our sailing speed a lot.

“Shit! Prepare for battle!”

“Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!”

As the Captain declared a state of battle, the combat based players all got themselves motivated since it was a while since they fought since there were nearly no enemies at sea.

“Arrow!”

At the voice of one of the rangers, every ran to either avoid or block the arrows that were coming down at us.

Eventually arrows came flying towards us as well but did little damage to the ship and everyone else on the ship. The early warning of the ranger helped quite a bit. The couple of people injured were also quickly healed by the priests on board.

“Damn them!”

“Attack them back!”

“Raging Fireballs!”

Other players on our ship that were mages or archers fired back as well but had little success and we could only wait until they got closer to us.

They soon surrounded us on all sides but front. There were two on each side and one directly behind us which I presume was the lead ship since it had the most cocky people there.

“Aim for that one!”

“Its bigger than the others!”

“Take it down!”

“Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!”

One of them stood out in particular.

“Shut it you Barbarians!” the one shouted which promptly stopped all the attacks from both sides.

It was a short man that wore golden armour which tried to win the most overly glamorous armour set competition but overall failed over Alexandra's own armour which was still the same ever since I met her.

Perhaps her armour was the rare growing type or slightly less rare restriction lifter item.

I could tell this was the case since he was scorning at Alexandra the moment he saw her armour which was clearly better than his by a large margin.

After coughing a bit when Alexandra glared at him like he was an insect, he took out a scroll...that was pretty long and read it out loud for everyone to hear.

“Give up the criminal Eden and we will spare your lives. We are on Royal Orders here!” he proclaimed with authory.

“Eden?”

“Who's that?”

“The black hair girl over there”

Stare~

Everyone looked at me but did not feel as though they were going to hand me over like that.

“And why have you come here in the open seas to capture this so called criminal instead of doing so on land?” shouted back the Captain in an even louder and stronger voice.

“Besides you've attacked us without warning where no one but us knows what will happen here. I suspect, no I know that you are a liar and a pirate to boot.” he continued.

“Long live the Captain!”

“Follow the Captain!!!”

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!”

The other crew and players cheered for the captain.

I was also tempted to cheer as well since no one denied that his words sunk deep in the wound of the other man. You could even see the short man turn red as he was embrassed by the Captain.

“Look at my flag you barbarians!!!!”

The cocky man was infuriated at the captain's words to the point where he continued to point at the flag of his tiny ship.

It held the symbol of some place that seemed to be important. To be precise, the image of a horn and a trident crossed over.

“That....”

“You got to be joking.....”

“This can't be happening to us....”

Well I don't exactly know which place that flag was from but judging from the reaction of the crew and other player it seemed important. Every then was a bit pale except for the captain whom only stared amused.

“Give it up. We surrounded you already. We only need the wrench.” said the cocky man. He moved his arm and tens of archers and mages pointed their weapons at us....well me.

“Ahhhhh!”

“What was that?” shouted someone near me.

A scream came from behind.

People whom were covered from head to toe with ropes and various weapons appeared on the ship.

The crew were being attacked and restrained by these people who were most likely from the other ships that went on board while we were not paying attention.

“This kind of act....” The captain had a hint of anger in his eyes before shouting at the cocky man.

“You are a fool! While you point at your own flag, you fail to notice under whose wing we sail under,” the captain pointed at his own ship's flag and the cocky man's eyes widened, “I am a member of the Sailing Merchant Guild!”

This time it was the other side whom were sweating with fear.

The cocky man was sweating now. He was hesitating on what to do now. He soon regained his voice and to a certain extent, his reasoning. But you could still hear the fear in his voice even from afar.

“It still stands that this 'Eden' has a bounty on his head and as far as I can see, his Infamy on destruction and murder is apparent! Give him to us and your crimes will be spared” the cocky short man shouted back.

The captain banged his fist on the edge of the ship.

“Do you think I don't know the history of those on my ship! Eden has been cleared on every level and the churches of the lands and seas of the entire continent themselves have told us to not even restrict him! Besides the churches have said that they are monitoring Eden through his companions. Besides it seems your eyes and the eyes of your employer are rotted as well. Eden is a woman for Gods sake! And what kind of bounty does not appear on the official channels?! It appears you are doing some dirty dirty work here!”

Woman.......fuck. Also on another point, so I do have a bounty. Nice to know the system isn't broken or something.

The cocky man was trembling....and not from fear.

“Damn you.....how dare you.....KILL THEM ALL!” shouted the cocky guy.

“ATTACK!” shouted the Captain.

However everyone pretty much decided that they were going to attack even if the captain hadn't said so already since I can see a couple of people throwing spells and arrows at the cocky guy from leap into cover immediately.

“Double strike!”

“Sonic Speed!”

“Piercing Throw!”

The few enemies on the ship was easily cleared out by the other players whom took the chance to use a surprise attack to wipe the enemies out of the way.

There were some players whom went to the edge of the ship to attack the side ships whom were attacking us as well.

I myself ran to the left side of the ship to attack one of the ships.

Fire Formation ? Wave Form ? Fire Wave

My left hand had fire coming out of it.

Lighting Formation ? Bolt Form ? Lighting Bolt

My right hand had lightning coming out of it.

Consecutive Casting ? Fire Wave + Lighting Bolt ? Lighting Fire Wave Bolt

“Lighting.....”

I gathered my newly made spell in my hands making sure to aim.

“Fire....”

Lightning and Fire burst out of my hands.

“WAVE BOLT!!!”

A large bolt of fire and lightning flew and hit the ship. The moment the lighting fire hit the ship, flames and lighting came out of where the attack hit. The magic quickly spread around the ship and didn't even let the enemies whom jumped ship unharmed.

Soon enough with screams, the ship sunk.

That's one down.....and I'm really down on mana already.....only have 7000 or so left and I can't release the first or second seal since I'll drain all of the mana from my allies.

Well I took one down, I think that's enough contribution on my end. I wonder how the other two are doing.

“SWORD WAVE!”

“O forest, O fierce forest. Your children have travelled countless lands, countless seas and have rampaged on the four corners of this world. Light and water gives strength to your children and I ask that you strike the ones that disrupt this balance. Strike Roots!”

On the other side of the ship, Alexandra and Viv were just owning the other ships.

Alexandra single handedly destroyed a ship after several sword waves and Viv just.....crushed one by himself using roots that made giant holes in the ship mass.

Now there were only two more ships to deal with...

Just when things were looking good, something bad happened.

Rumble

Eh? The sea is...rocking?

SPLASH

“GET DOWN!” shouted the captain taking cover himself.

Giant tentacles appeared out of no where and grabbed the last remaining ship on the left.

“Ahhhhhh!!!”

“JUMP SHIP!!!”

The crew panicking jumped off the ship and into the sea. Several more tentacles appeared and grabbed them as well and crushed them with the ship.

“...”

“...”

“FULL SPEED AHEAD MEN!” cried the Captain.

The crew of our ship immediately stopped what they were doing and went to work to sail the ship forward, as far away as possible from whatever just popped up. Even the player whom have no sailing experience were now keen on learning how to help immediately and instantly.

The ship moved forward quite quickly but the holes in the sails slowed it down considerably which means the last ship...the one with the cocky guy can catch up.

Alexandra ran up to me and immediately started shaking me left and right.

“Eden use your magic to make the ship go faster!” demanded Alexandra.

WHACK!

Viv whacked Alexandra in the head with his staff and said, “Are you trying to kill us all? Eden's magic to too strong and unpredictable and we can't rely on it in these situations. Anyway I'm going to throw the bait”

Viv then went to the back of the ship to do something.

Bait?

“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh what is this?”

It was the scream of that cocky guy. Ah.....I see, that was the bait eh.

I went to the back of the ship to see massive roots coming from the ocean and grabbing and flinging the crew to the tentacles as we were escaping. However as we were about to have some hope the main body of which the tentacles came from emerged from the water.

“K-KRAKEN!”

My jaw dropped to the ground.

A Kraken was one of the legendary monsters in the game that no one has been able to hunt. No one knows what level it is since it rarely comes out but it is said that it rivals Bar Khan in terms of danger. Well since no one even the best guilds have been able to hunt down Bar Khan yet, you could say that facing it is a death sentence.

“Is it me or is it looking at us.......”

I turned to Alexandra to confirm this. Though still shocked, she managed to agree that it was looking at us with its.....well tiny eyes.....I think.

Do Krakens have eyes? I have no idea, but I have a good feeling that it has its sight on us now and it was moving really fast towards us......it looked really awkward when rushing towards us face first.

“HOLY SHIT ATTACK!!! ATTACK IT NOW!!!” shouted Alexandra. She dragged over some of the players which had their jaws dropped and they started attacking with all they got.

“Fire Blast!”

“Arrow Rain!”

“Single Shot!”

“Ice Mist!”

“Thunder Beam!”

Rains of magic and arrows were thrown to the Kraken but it has no effect on it. Hell I think it just made it mad.

“EDEN HURRY UP AND ATTACK! YOU TOO VIV!”

When I was about to use my magic, Viv stopped me and casted several slow spells on the Kraken but it no effect on it.

“Slow” he said once. There was some sort of distortion for a moment but it quickly disappeared. Viv casted the spell a couple more times but it did the same thing.

“Is its curse resistance that high?” he muttered before trying something else.

“Tch...O forest, O fierce forest. Your leaves have flown countless lands, countless seas and have lay on the four corners of this world. Light and water gives strength to your children and I ask that you Bind the ones that disrupt this balance. Binding Roots!!” he pointed his staff at the Kraken and roots came from the ocean and tied it up.

However they broke almost immediately and only stalled it for a second at most. The broken pieces of his spell glowed and immediately started growing once more and wrapped itself around the Kraken.

Break

Once again the Kraken broke free almost immediately. Viv sighed and then he looked at me and patted my shoulder saying, “I've run out of mana. Its up to you now.”

Hey did you just push all the work to me?!

“SWORD WAVE!”

A wave of mana/air came out of Alexandra's sword and flew to the Kraken. However it disappeared before it could hit it.

“Damn too far” said Alexandra in an irritated voice.

It looks like that attack was at most a medium range one. Damn it really looks like I have to do this....

“First Seal Release.....”

I could've went and attacked like this but I had a feeling that even this wasn't enough to just stall the Kraken.

“Second Seal Release....”

This time my body did not glow or anything but I could feel my bones aching for a second due to the much greater force from the large amount of mana coming out of my body.

Releasing the Second Seal gives the following benefits:

Time Limit: 30 Minutes

I started preparing a spell to at least give us some time to escape.

Lightning Formation ? Lightning Formation ? Bolt Form ? Air-Strike Factor ? Expand Factor ? Amplify Factor ? Multicast(50) ? Lightning Shower

I gathered my mana in my body and unleashed it into the sky and casted the spell over the Kraken taking into account where it would be before the lightning hits it.

Spark

More and more sparks appeared as I finished casting the spell.

“Lightning Shower!”

Then lightning bolts fell from the sky one after the other and hit the Kraken.

“What the...”

“You got to be joking! Lightning has no effect....or is it magic has no effect?!”

I looked to see that my lightning wasn't hitting the Kraken at all!

To be more precise it almost looked like my lightning was spilling off the surface of the Kraken's skin. My lightning continued to pour over it for a few more seconds until it ended leaving not even a mark on the Kraken at all.

The Kraken moved closer and closer as we were trying to escape from it. It wasn't even mad...that was how useless my spell was on it.

“You got to be fucking kidding me....in that case...”

Lightning Formation ? Bolt Form ? Lightning Bolt

Ice Formation ? Wave Form ? Consume Factor ? Ice Prison

In my left hand, lightning poured out.

In my right, Frost poured out.

I placed them together and combined them.

Consecutive Casting ? Lightning Bolt + Ice Prison ? Lightning/Ice Prison Bolt

“Take this!”

I fired off a white lightning bolt to the Kraken.

When the white lightning bolt hit the Kraken it naturally slipped off it but it hit the water and froze it, trapping part of the Kraken there.

However something as minor as that, it didn't even take notice of it at all. I need to cast this on a much higher scale but I have a feeling that most if not all of my mana would be consumed in one go.

Well we're going to die either way if I don't.

Lightning Formation ? Lightning Formation ? Bolt Form ? Air-Strike Factor ? Expand Factor ? Amplify Factor ? Multicast(50) ? Lightning Shower

My body was charged with lightning magic.

Ice Formation ? Wave Form ? Consume Factor ? Ice Prison

My hands were filled with ice magic.

Consecutive Casting ? Lightning Shower + Ice Prison ? Lightning/Ice Prison Shower

“Damn it! I better not die from thisssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!”

I pointed my hand in the air and discharged the spell into the sky hoping it would hit the target.

I felt my mana being drained from my body as it was used to fuel the massive spell that could possibly allow us to escape from death.

Spark...

CRACK!

The sky split a bit and white lightning fell onto the Kraken.

Freeze~

As the Kraken used whatever ability to divert the lightning it hit the water near it instead, creating a barrier that according to what happened before would be very difficult to break.

“Full Speed Ahead!” shouted the Captain noticing that the Kraken couldn't move right now.

Pieces of the frozen water stuck together and onto the Kraken partly trapping it enough for us to escape safety.

You have expended beyond all of your stamina.

First and Second seal will activate.

Mana Fragment Recovery function will now activate. 3 Days until full recovery.

“Oh.....good..........” I managed to say until I passed out.

Part 4 – Why.....

The moment I woke up we were about to hit shore. Thankfully I and the ship were in one piece and not stuck at the bottom of the sea.

“Alexandra, Viv you there?” I asked wanting to know what the hell happened while I was asleep. When I said that, two figures appeared and started touching me all over the place as if I was an illusion or something.

I pushed them both away and said in a slightly threatening voice, “Stop it or I'll freeze you and throw you in the sea. I'm still a bit dizzy so I may make the spell too strong and force you to suffer for a long time.”

When I said that, both of them backed off immediately. Before I could ask them what happened after I passed out a loud voice came from outside.

“Anchors! We have docked near Morata! Those who want to get off, do so now!”

It was the voice of the captain. I got up and headed outside in the light with the other two. On the way I checked the notifications that system gave me.

There were a couple of them and I scrolled through them casually.

One of them stood out...

Gender has been permanently set to Female due to the effects of the mana fragment.

“Eh......”

Alexandra and Viv patted my shoulder and dragged me off the ship as I still stunned by the message.

When we were off and the ship went away, they were about to talk but didn't.

From my mouth only one word came out in a scream.

“FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!”
