Part 1 – The one known as a Destroyer

“Wha-what the hell does that mean?!” I shouted.

The fairy queen stood there in silent. She was not answering my question at all by staying silent! Damn, why do I have get to only meet the weird ones.

“That pond,” said started speaking and pointed at the pond that I was next to, “is called the Basin of Truth. It reveals the true forms of all that approach it. No matter who or what. But you're different since the form it will reveal is so terrible that it won't and so you are stuck in this one.”

Her finger than moved to point to me.

“And you who wear the form of a human yet not human turned into THAT when near the basin. That is the form that even you are unknown to. Something that you unknowingly inherited from the one the rest within you right now.”

That was something I know but for it to turn like this in an instant....

“One that is trapped by the Gods, do you have anything to say?” asked the Fairy Queen.

[Hmm........the basin of truth. To think that it exist in this world as well. Well don't worry Eden, your current state is only temporary and you'll be back to normal soon enough]

“llyfr.....what the hell is happening to my body?”

[…...To put it at the simplest state possible, you are turning into me, or your variation of me. Well the me that lost himself at one stage. It is a....side effect that my previous hosts had to deal with when using my powers excessively]

“What do you mean excessively?”

[Basically using the Magic King Armour or something similar too much and getting consumed by it before dying because they could not host the power they draw upon. Its a sad fate that repeated itself countless times now. They are the ones that you saw trapped with me....]

“I see.....so what do I do now?”

“What about dying scum?” said a voice from far away.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuush

“Damn fiend!” said the voice again.

Damn I have to attack or else......

Ice Formation ? Bolt Form

“STOP!”

The Fairy Queen jumped in front of me either to stop the attacker or stop me from attacking the attacker. Damn why does people always get in my way! I need some support here. Alexandra, Viv! Where the hell is my support!

“Ah~ Its so peaceful isn't it Viv”

“I know right~”

I looked at the two to see them on a blanket having a picnic while I'm suffering here. Why......are they having a picnic here?

“Hey.....you two......”

Viv turned her head to me and said, “Yes?~” in a very cute voice. Damn, why is my heart pounding for a guy?!

Alexandra started patting the blanket next to her and said to me, “Eden~ Why don't you relax with us?~” in a cute voice as well. Ah....for some reason my heart isn't pounding even though its a girl. I wonder why......I'm not gay...I think but I see Alexandra as some sort of beast.

“Sword~”

Alexandra drew her sword out and aimed it at me.

Eh? This is bad!

“Wave~”

Shit have to dodge....

BANG

Mana Shield took 3411 damage

Mana Shield broke

I was blown back away from the pond and into a nearby tree.

“Ow ow ow. Damn that hurts.....” I said while scratching the back of my head where it hurts the most.

Rapid Regeneration has activated due to getting hit from the body transformation “Body of the Destroyer”

Endurance increased by 1

Oh...this is handy though it'll take a while to get the rapid regeneration. I have to make sure to increase the skill proficiency of the skill later. Now before that I have a major issue here.

“Alexandra.....WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!” I shouted from the top of my voice.

I was kinda expecting some sort of retort or comment that would insult me but she did not answer me back. Speaking of which, Viv wasn't responding as well......what was happening?

I got up from the ground and tried to make my way to them to see what was wrong.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuush

An arrow was plunged into tree next to be. I froze in shock that someone was targeting me and didn't take the chance to take me out when I was vulnerable due to Alexandra's attack. To see such things in this world........well that person foolish enough to do so was probably a NPC or a role-player that plays as a good person.

“Stop or I'll shoot” said the voice again.

The person was a couple of trees away from me. That person was probably a elf judging by the fact that he or she, most likely to be a he used a bow and and high affinity to nature and high mana. Out of everyone here, the Fairy Queen had the most affinity with the forest and the person firing, at second place while Viv was next after that and me and Alexandra practically had none so far. Hell I might as well be the one with the lowest affinity since I did burn down part of the forest. Hmm? There were more presences coming near here now.

Sigh.....

I put my altered hands up in the air to signify that I surrendered though I could have just tried to attack the elven archer but I have a feeling that my body would be penetrated by arrows.

I looked at the fairy queen which did nothing so far to help me and said, “Hey, can you call your elf friend off me?”

The fairy queen smiled at that and commanded 'all' of them to is stand down.

Part 2 – The Talk

“So what the hell do you want with me? And when does my body go back to normal?”

In that moment I felt that the forest itself was intent on killing me right now. However the Fairy Queen waved her hand and the killing intent disappeared. We were somewhat near the pond called the 'basin of truth' for some reason and sitting on opposite sides of a table made of the roots and branches of trees.

The Fairy Queen flicked her fingers and other fairies came to us with some cups and tea to drink....not that I'm going to drink something I don't know. After slipping her tea the Fairy Queen started her talk.

“I wish to talk to you Eden,” she started.

I see, and what else do you want from me?

“Ah! Don't worry about your companions, they won't know the content of our talk. They're under the power of the forest protective magic. It makes whoever we want to fall asleep or otherwise.”

Something was wrong here.....

“In that case, why didn't you use it on me?”

The Fairy Queen made a sad smile and said, “We did. It had no effect on you and the best we could hope was that you wouldn't destroy us with your flames.”

“....”

“You look concerned.”

“Yeah.....that was an accident....no rather it was unintentional.”

The Fairy Queen brightened up a bit now.

“I see, also I have to apologise for one of the younger fairies. It noticed your nature and attacked and because of that we needed you to be healed but that means......”

“I have to be under the influence of the basin of truth right? Well this form is......convenient in some ways but why did it take Alexandra a bit longer than Viv to fall under the influence of the forest?”

“There are a number of reasons such as her high will power but that thing that helped her the most was....” continuing with her smile she added, “That is something you know best correct?”

I see, it was the meddling of the Gods again. Now I think about it, one of the Gods cursed me and undid the curse out of pity.

“It seems you have a question for me.” said the Fairy Queen after examining my face.

A bit shocked my body stiffened. I tried to Clam myself as much as possible since emotions make me more sceptical to the flow of the conversation that the Fairy Queen is controlling right now.

“What Gods are friendly to the Fairies?” I asked.

The Fairy Queen's eyes opened a bit to my question due to shock but then only held amusement.

“To the Gods that are evil, we are enemies. For the Gods that are Good we are allies. We however most commonly get along with Gods that represent the Earth and Forest. They are the most cooperative of the Gods since we get along a lot.”

In other words....

“You are friendly to the Gods that are useful to you.” I stated outright.

The killing intent was stronger than ever. It it weren't the fact that I was near the Fairy Queen, countless arrows and magicks would be heading my way right now. I'm not sure that the moment I'm far enough from the Fairy Queen that someone decides to stick a knife or knives in my back. Well such worries can come later when I have to think about it. However unlike the rest of the beings here, the Fairy Queen had no hostility to me.

The Fairy Queen chuckled at my words and said, “The God of the Forest was right, you are amusing. Well think of it this way, if a person had the same or similar goals to you and had the same or similar mindset as you, you would naturally be allies right?”

“Correct.”

The logic was fine but still had some loopholes in them.

“However there may be people that satisfy those two conditions and yet are not your allies because the two of you are too different and thus cannot be allies but still can be friends in some ways but can never be allies.”

Okay.......

“But if there are a common enemy between these people then they can be allies yet not allies, friends yet not allies. That is our relationship and the rest of this realm’s relationship to Gods.”

This is complicated......

“I see that you don't quite understand the relationship fully yet. Well humans don't need to think about it, the majority of Gods ally with them since they have the most numbers, but you're not a human are you.”

I see that this 'person' was teasing me right now. I looked at my right arm that has suddenly become so unfamiliar with me. My perception of the world has also suddenly changed for the better or worse and still I can talk to others normally....well this can't be called a normal situation.

I sighed at this fact and muttered out loud, “When was the last time a person met the fairy queen?”

“Humans have a distant relationship with us compared to elves but sometimes one who will no harm the forest or have no ill intent with us appear once in a while. Dwarves on the other hand are a bit rarer since they move metals more than anything besides their pride as dwarves. I believe there was once a dwarf that could sculpt the unknown elementals. Orcs on the other hand...there was one. One that betrayed his own race to help us in our time of need. Well in the end he was hailed as a hero of his race since he brought a great battle to them and was remembered as a 'strong one' as the Orcs call it. However the last time a destroyer like you talked to one like me was a very very long time ago. Before the Gods could use their powers on the world, before the four primary races stood together and broke apart. Those encounters seemed to be recent compared to the last time one of 'your kind' met us like this.”

The Fairy Queen gave me another sad smile and said, “A verrrrrrrrrrrrrry long time ago, isn't that right llyfr.”

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh?!

[…....]

“Hey.....don't stay silent right now. You know this person?”

I emphasised the last bit of my sentence.

[Back then......you were still a brat and now........]

The Fairy Queen.......had the expression of a sulking child right now.....the forest also was dead silent at this sight. A couple of presences dropped out of the trees from shock.

[Still a brat I see. Nice to see that you haven't changed, ah I'm not suppose to call you by your name now that you're the Fairy Queen of this region]

“Hmp! I was hoping that you would make that mistake since we're old friends.”

“Old friends?......I know to some extent on how old llyfr is....that means your a old lady?”

Fussssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssh

Puck Puck Puck Puck Puck Puck Puck Puck Puck Puck Puck Puck Puck Puck Puck Puck Puck Puck

“....”

There were countless arrows are were stuck on the gaps in between my body in the moment I finished the sentence. Well I think that was a very bad mistake to make that comment.

[Eden, fairies have magic beyond humans and Gods. They can move their existence through the eons of time. Even the Gods cannot do that without limit and the only time they can is when it relates to a particular group of people]

“And those people are?” I asked.

[Champions of the World. In other words the Heroes among Heroes among Heroes]

“That doesn't make sense at all!”

[Think of it this way then. You have the common people, slightly gifted people in their fields, very gifted people, geniuses that suppress common sense and then abnormal people who can't be categorised whom are on the top or bottom at things. Don't worry at most you're in the abnormal section]

“That still doesn't make sense! What do you mean I'm an abnormal person!?”

[It means you don't think nor act like other people. You don't follow the rules set for this world and blend and sometimes break them. Such people are the interest for Gods for good or bad. You're in the bad side like me]

“Damn.....the first time you talked to me in a while and you don't make sense at all!”

[Then don't think! Feel! Do you think that normal people wouldn't abuse my power? They would be too frightened to use it or use it excessively until they die. You are don't do either. You choose not to rely on my power as much as possible]

“Well of course! If I rely on something so unstable, I'll be killed more times then I can count.”

CLAP

The Fairy Queen stopped our.....well conversation since we were going off topic with a simple clap. It was surprising since at first she had the Queen-like persona which became the child-like persona when llyfr was involved and it went back to the Queen-like persona now.

“Anyway, we have went off topic for long enough. Quite frankly I would like you and only you to help us in a 'situation' we currently have.” said the Fairy Queen.

I frown. Such a request would often put me on the disadvantage for the sake of others which really didn't fit me. Not that I wanted to be the heroic kind. They always seemed to due first one way or another and the least likely person would often survive last in stories.

The Fairy Queen smiled at my discontent with this request and continued nevertheless.

“By the way this isn't a request. Its a demand if you want this particular item.”

The Fairy Queen held out a small box. I felt no presence at all from it which was very unusual since everything more or less had some mana in them even the tiniest bits, but from this box there was nothing, nothing at all.

[This is!]

“Yes its a rare type of material that blocks magic or rather mana, chakra, ki or whatever its called in the world. However what is most important is in this box. I believe you're searching for it.”

The Fairy Queen opened the box and a massive amount of mana poured out. My senses were blown off by the sheer amount of mana that was there. Impossible.......that was a mana fragment!

“How.....”

The Fairy Queen seemingly unaffected by the massive amount of mana around us right now smiled at my displeasure now.

“We have found this from a certain creature that had accidentally wondered in this forest. It was a mighty beast. I believe it called itself a Clam or something like that. Despite the massive power this so called 'mana fragment' had, the Clam had no desire for it. I believe you understand what this means correct?”

Yeah I do. It just means that creature was strong enough that it didn't need the mana fragment. Such a creature would easily be in the extreme end of the high tier boss monsters. I really hope that I don't encounter this creature. I nodded to the Fairy Queen knowing what she meant.

“I will give you this mana fragment if you complete my request...no demand.”

The Fairy Queen was completely in control of the situation. Damn I can't counter her no matter what I do. I can't refuse her due to my quest to collect all of the mana fragments that fell to this world and I can't force her to give it to me since I'll have many holes the moment I try and its very unlikely that she will have a reasonable demand.

[Hmm.....check the mana detector for a moment]

Eh? Okay then if you want.

I took the mana detector from my inventory and checked it like llyfr asked me too.

“Wha-”

What I found was shocking. The arrows that indicated the number of mana fragments left didn't decrease at all. Instead it increased by one. That means.......one of two things. The first was that this was an entirely new mana fragment that neither Warlic nor Crysero could detect immediately when they fell to the continent which was very unlikely. The second was that this was part of another mana fragment. Despite being in front of me, the mana detector still had a stronger reaction to the other mana fragments no matter the distance which meant the second was most likely true.

“That mana fragment, no its better to call it a fragment of a mana fragment.”

The Fairy Queen reacted to my words. So it was true....

“Where exactly did you get it from?”

“Like I said from the Clam that came in the fore-”

“Do you expect me to believe that? Clams live near water and this place while having plentiful sources of water cannot sustain a Clam and besides you have left out too many details from me from the beginning.”

[Well then, you heard the man....no rather you heard the woman. Eden you still look like a woman even in this form]

“llyffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffr!”

[HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Tormenting you is fun enough, anyway I suppose this has to do with the Fairy Hunters]

The Fairy Queen whom lost her majesty feeling grow a bit smaller with llyfr's words and managed to mutter a quiet, “Yes.”

Fairy Hunters.......?

[I'm going to explain it to Eden since he's confused right now]

Yeah, you're right. I am confused right now. Why does everything have to be confusing when it involves llyfr? And why do I even bother with getting involved with such people?

[To put it bluntly, Fairy Hunters hunt down Fairies for a simple reason. They, the fairies produce a certain substance that's highly valued in one way or another. This substance is highly valued enough and is useful in varieties ways that many hunt them for their own gains. Frankly they're a pain since they'll do anything to get what they want]

“So I just have to kill them right?”

[No you have to crush them enough to instil fear into them so they won't or rather can't do it again. Which means you have to play as the....]

“Bad guy again right? Well that's fine with me.....where exactly are these Fairy Hunters?”

“They are currently in this forest trapped facing the creatures of the forest. They are....strong, it will be soon that they will come here. We cannot leave this forest for some reason. Some magic....something is stopping us from using it. So we have to rely on you. Mere arrows from the few elves that has helped us so far cannot stop them. So I request that you help us.”

Ding

Crush the Fairy Hunters to save the Fairies

The Fairy Queen, unable to defend herself for some reason has requested for you to defend her and her kind against the Fairy Hunters that tries to hunt them down for their own greed. The forest will guide you to them and you will not have any support due to your nature.

And now I can only accept one more quest......that reminds me, am I able to use Alexandra or Viv in this quest or do I have to finish it alone.

“Hey, can I bring along the other two over there?” I asked the Fairy Queen while pointing at the sleeping duo.

The Fairy Queen shook her head.

“If we allow them to help you, they will also be prosecuted for being comrades with you. If they do not know, then the Gods will spare them from their wrath especially the blond one who has a close tie with the Gods. The less the people of this world knows about you, the safer you will be from the Gods. The Gods themselves do not have chaos to grip the world as great darkness can be born from it.” she explained.

“So.....basically no.”

“That is correct.” she replied without hesitation.

“Great.......I have to a C ranked quest by myself with awful requirements.” I muttered to myself.

I sighed and wanted to go to sleep in that moment.

- I could've just combined this chapter with the next but this point seems like a good point to stop the chapter

- Now for progress....I am current done with 3/10 chapters on the other series which I have hidden all information from you guys...and I won't be able to finish it before uni starts. So, I'm just going to finish another 3 and go back to work on this series and most likely finish volume 5
