Part 1 – Memories
It has been several days since the one called 'Eden' was sent to eliminate all traces of the ones that hunt down our race. Many have objected to the use of the 'destroyer' to take down a foe they knew better than anyone else. However I pushed this shameful plan ahead in order to fulfil my selfish desires. The forest has been telling what has happened to him. Well he could easily qualify as a she any time he wants since his skin is almost as smooth as mine.....now is not the time to think about that. His hair is also naturally silky as well....I have to bath in the purest of water every day to keep my hair in that state so how did he managed to preserve it so naturally? llyfr was the same as well. His body was in perfect condition whenever I saw him.
“Your Majesty.” said a voice.
I looked to my right to see one of the elves that have been close to my kind for generations. He like other elves had beauty that many other humans desire. His slightly silvery hair and white skin made it apparent that he was part of one of the rare species of elves that were close to fairies since long ago. History tells that their clan had done a favour to my kind and as such we naturally have a close relationship. Many have respected me because I was cause of this close relationship. However I still keep it a secret that their appearance remind me of 'that man' when he was still a human. When he still could exist as a mortal. However now is still not the time to be remembering this. Perhaps it is due to the meeting with 'Eden' and 'llyfr' that triggered these memories that are best left untouched.
“Yes, what is the condition of Eden?” I commanded the elf that reported in.
The elf made a pale face for a reason I know. Eden has done something unpleasant again. I sighed at this thought and ordered the elf to continue.
“After Eden set out to find the 'Fairy Hunters' he encountered them and wiped most of them out except one which would serve as a reminder for the humans not to harm us.”
I nodded. This was the kind of thing that I expected from a 'Destroyer'. They must not only bring destruction but more importantly, absolute fear to the point that others even Gods wouldn't dare to harm them. Recently the Gods have recognised Eden as a 'Destroyer' and as such he is in the most vulnerable position. Until he masters himself, he will always be at risk.
The elf continued with his report.
“However after that a group appeared out of nowhere and killed the last person of the 'Fairy Hunters'. I suspect it is the group that arrived in this forest a couple of months ago that were supposedly wiped out. Even we could not detect them until now.”
That came to a shock to me. I tried to not allow my emotions affect my face with some success. If even they cannot track them then they must have employed some powerful magic and that's bad news for us.
“Also we have confirmed that they have employed powerful Ancient Magic and sealed 'Eden' to capture him. Up until today he was captive in one of their hideouts.”
My heart sank. His core, his magic side and his connection with llyfr was severed just like that. However he is still alive and that's the most important thing. Perhaps we could find a cure for his current state later, but dealing with this group comes first.
“So, what else happened to Eden?” I asked.
“We have confirmed that Eden has wiped out the majority of the group and have questioned them of their motives though was unable to confirmed anything of the group. The leader of the group and an unknown amount of other people are still alive your majesty.”
“And what did he do wrong?”
“He proceeded to torture some of them and when surrounded he slaughtered them using his sword skills and in 2 cases using his bare hands by crushing their heads one way or another. It was....quite gruesome
“Thank you for your report. You may get some rest for the upcoming battle.”
The elf confused by what I said asked, “Upcoming battle?”
“Yes, there may be a battle soon. I hope that Eden was successful to prevent the worse from occurring.”
With that the elf and several others that were present in the nearby trees moved off to prepare for the war that we cannot prevent any longer. I sighed once more knowing that we will have to fight. Now that I think about it, something similar happened when llyfr was around.
An Unknown amount of time ago.....
“Hey brat, you are you shivering like that?” said a man in his late twenties.
I say that but his has a hood on and I can't see his face properly. He was wearing a black cloak that covered his entire body quite well. I don't understand how such a person could come this close to our queen.
“How can I not! War is coming to us and we can't do anything to prevent it!” I retorted.
War as I see it, is a way of the ignorant to justify that their views are better. These humans proved this point time and time again.
“Well sometimes you can only prevent something for so long. War is not completely bad, it also brings some good things as well at times.” the man replied.
“Like what? There can't be anything that could good that comes from war.” I said making my point.
“For starters, preparations.” the man replied.
“Preparations?” I asked.
“Preparations for future events like war.” he replied again.
I was confused. How does that kind of logic work?
“So you wage war to prepare for war.”
“Yes.”
“This is stupid.”
“That doesn't mean much for a brat that only knows peace.” said the man before patting my head.
It was really warm and nice....wait wait wait! Why am I feeling like this?! Damn this has to be some sort of trick. I mean it wasn't that bad but for a human to make me feel such things is....
“Is everything all right?” asked a woman that I immediately recognised as our Queen.
I bent on my knees and said, “Yes your majesty.”
On my reaction to her, the queen frown. It looks like I'll get the usual lecture from her again. How many times has this happened. How more times will this occur until it finally stops and I'll......
“I would expect better from my daughter! Do you know how lonely it is for a mother to be called 'your majesty' without hesitation by her own daughter!? Not only that, my parents and siblings as well act the same way! Ever since I became 'Queen' I felt more lonely than the entirety of my life!”
Yes this is my mother.....the Fairy Queen of this region. Fairies often drift here and there but stay in an area governed my a 'Fairy Queen'. There are many Fairy Queens in this world and this is just one of them. However she is also my mother but under our laws, all Fairies must respect the Queens no matter who it is. This however doesn't apply to the young ones since they should remain pure. Fairies are unable to age but we are split between the ones that remain as children and those who age to adulthood. For those who age we must respect the Fairy Queen, however the most ironic thing is that the Fairy Queen comes from one of the Fairies that age. They are selected by the 'children fairies' every time a Fairy Queen dies which is very rare to begin which. After a certain point the aged Fairies will either become one with the forest or choose to be with the humans and other races on their own choice. Naturally their memories are erased to protect the ones that remain but some still manage to come back one way or another.
And the reason we are about to go into war with our allies is because one of them got found out by the humans and now some rich noble guy wants 'that' that only comes from us. Naturally the Elves, Humans and even the dwarves got pissed at this and thus sided with us. However there is a noticeably lower amount of humans on our side then theirs.
“Cut the mother-daughter talk for a bit. We need to go to the war council to prepare.” said the man.
One side of me hated him for this since this was one of the very few times I can interact with my mother, I mean the Queen but the other side thanked him since the nagging stopped.
The Queen sighed and said, “Fine, let us go.”
With that the two of them escorted by several guards went away to do their war business.
Part 2 – One last breath
I could feel the forest was in pain. It was on fire. The creatures of this land was panicking. I cursed in my mind on what kind of fool would do such a thing. My first thought went to Eden but his magic was apparently sealed so it couldn't be him but only one that could use ancient magic could harm the forest. Blades and Magicks of all kinds were rendered useless under the protection of the God of the Forest. Humans have time and time again tried to breach the thick defence known as God but failed and thus in their short lived lives, never tried again after some generations. But now is not the time for such thoughts.
“Send several scouts! Everyone else is to retreat!” I ordered to the countless creatures in the forest.
My voice resounded all over the forest due to the simple magic I wielded. All at once, countless creatures ran from the source of the flames and few, those who were confident in their skills ran towards it to either see what was happening or to try and stop the flames.
After some moments several voices rang in my ears.
“The flames cannot be put out!”
“Humans have set the flames!”
“There are two of them. One, injured is coming to them. Eden is following them but cannot make it in time!”
“They are heading to you! Please escape!”
Each and every one of them were literally shouting at me. Well they were panicking quite a bit.
“First of all, how long until they get to me?” I asked.
There was some silent until one of them reported, “Only 10 minutes. Eden will get here in 15 minutes, we have notified him of the current situation and he's running to aid you, however......the other three humans also know where you are.”
10 minutes....and Eden can't help me. The elves may be able to take them out but......I have to still try.
“Send a group of 20 Elven archers to try and dispatch them at once. Half of the rest will guide the other creatures into safety even if it means to go into human territories. The other half will group on me.” I commanded.
There was some silences after that but not of them being confused but because they were fulfilling my orders. I have a hunch that these humans cannot be stopped, but I have never heard of humans that could lite the forest on fire. Did they make a pact with Demons or even worse a God? I need to awaken the other two from their sleep. I used my command as the Fairy Queen to put them to a deep sleep. It will take at least a hour on normal circumstances to awaken them but if I beg the God of the Forest......however that will still take little over 10 minutes.
“You majesty, your order?” said one of the various elves and other creatures that came to protect me.
Only third of the creatures gathered to me were elves. The rest were creatures of this forest that boast considerable strengths. Normally they were enemies but since the forest was in danger, they united under me to repel the invaders time and time again.
“I am going to use the power of the Forest to try and awaken these two from their sleep ahead of time. Your job is to protect me as I finish it. I suspect that the scouts were already killed and the ones I sent to eliminate the problem were also killed.” I explained pointing to the sleeping duo.
The creatures gathered were shocked as they would be. I was telling them to throw away their lives with mine for some unknowns.
“Your Majesty, if you escaped with these two while we protect you.....”
The eyes of the one who said that indicated that they were already prepared to die.
“You guys......I cannot. Convincing the God of the Forest is the easy part. Communicating with it is the hard part. Even I cannot pinpoint where its consciousness is and if I move, it is impossible to do so. The only option is the stay here and pray that I make it in time. Now then, leave me and get on with your jobs!” I commanded.
Everyone then ran off in the mist of trees. They were heading to the humans. None of them ran away. That alone made me proud of them. I walked to the two and kneed down and started trying to search through the forest for the God of the Forest. It was a small scale God and thus has no name but we love it and it loves us. Surely it can help us. I closed my eyes and started concentrating on finding it even more now. In this state I was connected to the forest even more than normal. I also could tell that the humans have started cutting down their way here leaving trails of blood in their wake. I continued to watch and tried to find the one that could help us.

[p=center]xXx[/p]
The battle had already started. Humans have started their invasion into our land. Thousands upon thousands upon hundred of thousands started destroying our land. However even so, some humans who were not blinded by greed and friends of the forest banded together to try and stop them. They were outnumbered by 10 to 1 and were thus destroyed quickly and absorbed into ones that are our enemies. Why they did such foolishness to the point that they were inviting their own destruction was beyond me. When the human generals heard of the new, they only looked a bit shocked not of the fact that their homes were gone, but the fact that their homes fell so soon. Right now was several hours after noon and the battle was still raging on.
Although their homes were gone, there were still thousands of humans on our side. They built a great wall in between us and them and were holding them off. The Elves joined them and also took to the sides to fight while the dwarves somewhat skilled in blacksmithing were providing their weapons and hammers to battle. The Orcs were somewhere creating havoc on their own rights. I was sitting on top a of nearby cliff that had a pretty good view of what was happening.
It was been only a week since the battle started and things were really bad for us. According to some of the humans there are around 100 or so Kingdoms in this continent. Out of them were 24 that could reach us. 8 waged war against us and forced 12 to ally with them while 2 Kingdoms were with us. However 2 Kingdoms did not want anything to do with this war at all and were left untouched since they had powerful allies elsewhere, namely other Kingdoms. In the first day when the 2 Kingdoms made it apparent that they sided with us, 8 Kingdoms went and crushed them leaving nothing behind. The rest came to us against several giant walls. In the week, all but one were destroyed and left countless more injured or killed. Each Kingdom that was invading us sent roughly 10000 to 30000 thousands which was only a third of their full force against us. That meant we had to face at least 200000 troops and a maximum of 600000 troops.
On our side was only a considerable 50000 humans that were sent from the two Kingdoms that were next to us and was destroyed quite early on. However the refugees from those two Kingdoms were in the hundred of thousands and most of them were children, women, elderly and anyone else who couldn't fight. The Elves had a bit more forces than the humans since they came from all over the place to aid us and came here via teleportation over the week. They now numbered 60000 while the dwarves that were in the area did not even reach 1000 but they were mostly blacksmith that provided weapons to the human soldiers and refugees. So in total we had a bit more than 100 thousand against around 500 thousand on my estimate. But things weren't going to be that great. The human Kingdoms seeing that being outnumbered 5 to 1 and barely lasting a week wasn't good enough, they sent reinforcement which made the numbers go up to and over 1 million troops against us. If humans had some good, trait it was overdoing things.
“This is quite bad for us eh brat?” said the man.
I immediately recognised his attitude for me.
“How can this be worse?” I asked.
The man thought about it for a bit and said, “Well a dragon could come as well or an evil God.”
Dragons were literally one of the strongest forces in the world, matching or even suppressing the raw power of Gods. One Dragon King or a high ranked Dragon would enough to destroy this unnecessary big army in front of us in several dragon breaths. Enough to make them piss themselves several times before dying a dog's death. An Evil God would do the same.
“The chances of that happening is low enough and it is even lower that such forces would be on our side. We would still be destroyed either way.”
The man laughed out loud at my thoughts.
“Then what happens if a being that suppresses them appears?”
“That cannot happen. Such a being does not exist in this world.”
The man laughed even louder. I frowned at this person's seemingly positive attitude to everything.
“By the way, who are you?”
The man looked at me and said, “Hmm? I'm llyfr, why?”
I sighed and asked again, “And who are you? Where do you come from? What can you do? Why does my Queen and the others trust you of all things?”
“Well....lets see......I am old friends to those people. They believe I can help them and refuses to let me actually help them for reasons I know. I come from somewhere far far away. Now, let me ask you those question. Who are you? Where do you come from? What can you do? Tell me.”
[p=center]xXx[/p]
We have lost. Everything was gone. Everything was in ruins. I was taken prisoner along with countless others and chained up for all to see. Thankfully I was not defied just yet.....I see the look on those men....not beasts. They desire that they can't have. Next to me was llyfr who still had that stupid positive attitude. The guards beat him up several times for that but he didn't care. Prison life was a bit better than I though. They gave us food, especially for me......but I suspect that it was not in kindness but to fatten me up a bit for someone to use me.
“How many days has it been?” I asked llyfr.
“A month or so. And how many times have you asked that?” he replied.
“I lost count after the hundredth or so.” I replied.
The day went by just like that. We have run out of things to talk about. Who we were and what we have experienced. Well it was mostly me who was talking, llyfr still refused to tell me anything about himself. Talking on ways to escape or anything that would oppose the Kingdoms that have captured us was a big no no. One group were publically tortured to death in front of us to prove that point. After that, everyone pretty much stayed silent.
Several guards came up to our gaol.
“You two will come with us.” one commanded.
Two of his lackeys opened the door and undid the chains on us while the rest pointed their weapons at us for the moment we decided to run away. We however did no such things and did not even joke about it since everyone who joked about it died. We quietly followed them to where they wanted to take us. We passed by some turns here and there and found ourselves in front of the ones that waged war against us.....and won. The room was highly decorated and in many places showed how they wasted their Kingdom's wealth on such pitiful things.
I looked to the right and found that my Queen and several others Queens were chained up onto the wall. My Queen was still alive but the others were.......
“You know why we brought you here. Now give it to us!” commanded one of the Human Kings.
They half suspected to me to immediately give it up under some poor sub text that they had to spare my life or something like that. However all I did was stood there silent. I looked at the Queen that was barely conscious and was bleeding all over the place.
One of the Kings enraged by me refusing to cooperate with them immediately got his sword and stabbed it into my queen.....no mother.
“Mother!” I shouted.
It wasn't like me. I knew what my priorities were. I knew I had to cut my personal ties with my mother. I knew that in the end we were no longer family. But what was this pain I feel. Tears overflowed from my eyes and onto the cold cold ground. I fell to my knees knowing that my mother could no longer nag me nor care for me anymore.
“llyfr remember the promise......”
Those were the last words she spoke. There was nothing for me, only some words to llyfr. Why was there nothing for me? Why did this world take everything from me? Why have the Gods not help us? Were these things called humans better than us? No! But still the Gods just watched as thousands were killed.
“Brat, I will answer the last questions I avoided telling you now.”
I looked at the calm and yet enraged llyfr next to me. The Kings did not dare to speak at that moment.
“I am llyfr, the Destroyer of Gods. My home.....It was destroyed when I was younger by fools like them. I have the power to destroy anything and everything. The reason why your queen......no mother and the others trust me is that I can help them pull through everything in the end. However the condition they gave me was that I would wait until their death and there was no other choice.”
At that moment, an incredible amount of mana no fighting spirit came out of llyfr. The place seemed to be dyed in his golden aura that held the hopes of all creatures. From his mouth came a chant that was very uplifting and positive.
[I to awaken am the Hero-King whom abandoned the throne of God]
[I give the wisdom and hold the Knowledge]
[I will become the Hero King that protects all Creation]
[And I will show you true Hope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]
[Hero King Drive!!!!!!!!]
The golden aura sudden condensed itself onto llyfr's body. Its thick layer allowed it to seemingly block all attacks. His aura extended to me and surrounded me as well as protecting me from harm. llyfr looked at the Kings that had their mouths open for a while.
“Now to take care of the trash” he proclaimed with a big smile hiding away his deep sadness.
[p=center]xXx[/p]
I finally found the God of the Forest. Now to ask it a favour.
[What is it young Fairy Queen?]
“I require some help in dispelling the magic that sleeps the two companions of the Destroyer!”
[I see, but can't you do that yourself?]
“Time is at need right now! Hostile Humans are coming for me as I speak!”
[I see, then let it be done under the Name of the God that watches this Forest!]
I sighed in relief that I made in time. Now all I had to do is to-
STAB
My chest had a sudden pain through it. My body felt like it was burning yet it was going cold. I am dying.......llyfr......help....
[p=center]xXx[/p]
We won......no llyfr won. The millions that were enemies were gone. All slain by one man. His sword was stained red and his body gained countless scars after this. However he still had that positive outlook that still irritated me to no ends. Fairies were gathering around me now. It seems I was to be the next Queen. That means I will no longer have a name.....
I looked at llyfr and felt my chest tightened. What was this feeling? Why was I having this feeling for a human? A human that was more of a monster that would destroy everything instead of one that would bring it peace. However this feeling was still there.
I ran up to him and said, “Hey hey, llyfr!”
He turned and looked at me like he always had.
“What is it brat?” he commented with a sneer.
“Call my name!” I loudly proclaimed waving my arms.
“Why the hell should I?” he retorted without hesitation.
“Just do it!” I commanded.
Fairies started to gather around me again and llyfr simply sighed when seeing this. He knew why I wanted it. To be called....one last time by......
He sighed once more and said, “Alright alright Ce-”

Author's Notes:
- 4500~ words
- Well this chapter was a bit depressing to write. But I wanted to give a bit of insight of what llyfr was before his change as a Hero. Also a bit of stuff on the fairy queen.
- See you next week with the climax of this volume!
