Part 1 – A Good Night Sleep
I collected some pieces of copper and wolf meat from the corpses of the wolves. Well it was a kill joy that they weren't even able to dodge or block that attack of mine.

I can't really complain now can I. Anyway we should head back to town. I started walking to the city gates when llyfr said something to me.
[Although the others don't seem to want you to go]
Hmm?
“EDEN! JOIN MY GUILD!” commanded Han while shouting at me. Just a moment ago he was scared shitless and then speechless. Where the hell does his confidence comes from. And also his attitude pissed me off long ago.
With my best evil stare I said, “Piss off.”
Han was taken a bit back at that but then he decided to continue annoying me.
“If we join up I can provide you will everything you need. My guild the 'Headless Might' can even power level you to 100 easily.”
I am level 86. I think it will be easier if I hunt alone then let some idiots drag me around. And also I still have the problem that my skill proficiency is low for my level due to the Minotaur incident.

That was what I was hearing come out of Han's mouth right now. If he doesn't back off then I'll kill him. I'm not in a good mood right now. Hell I'll kill him even if I was in a very good mood.
[Don't kill him. I hear that you get a murderer mark which will annoy you even further and restrict you in the city as well as allow a free pass on anyone to hunt you down]
So hurt him enough that he wishes to be dead? Fine. I prepared a small weak spell in my head.
“Lightning Bolt”

I shot a lightning bolt next to where Han was standing. His shocked face at what I just did was very....refreshing for some reason. After that Han was very hesitant to actively recruit me but he still followed me when I headed to the gate with the rest of the party. Apparently they were all in the same guild and that was why they were following Han's orders. According to Han, his guild was one of the 'major' guilds in the city have 'influence' over some players. I really see no point in being a lackey so I continued to ignore him.
“Hey LISTEN to me!” plead Han.
He went up to me and grabbed my shoulder again. That's it. I'm going to kill him.
[DON'T]
Yes yes I know. Just make it so he suffers. I imagine this fool being encased by ice.
“Ice prison”
Crack Crack Crack
Ice suddenly appeared and covered his legs quickly and continued to his body. His was unable to move and eventually his annoying mouth was covered as well. I left and the party that was now trying to free in the forest as I arrived to the city gate.
There was a number of people heading in the city now. It was becoming night quickly so I don't blame them. The 50% strength boost at night made hunting a lot more difficult even with the 30% experience boost. Although this only applies when your in the low levels since you'll be hunting in dungeons that have these same effects on the monsters for most of the time later on. Anyway when I was about to pass by the guards they suddenly stopped me.
“You there! You're not from this city. State your business” demanded the guard on the right. They drew their swords and pointed them at me. Will this always happen when I arrive in a new city?
[No idea. Play along]
Right. But I have no idea what to say right now.
“State your business Demi-human!”
Demi-human? What's that? I should really learn what some of these terms people have in this game.
[I believe its a term for beings that look like humans but aren't at the same time. With perfectly fits you right now. Your not exactly human but you look the part from afar]
Ah....so are they stopping me because I'm new here or because I'm a demi-human?
[Probably both. Hurry up and answer the, before they attack. Also there's a crowd gathering right now because of you]
I looked around and saw there were around 30 people behind me waiting to get in. Hey the gate is pretty big so go around me not behind! They had both the look of discontent and interest at me. Well it would most likely be the first time they see such a scene. I look back at the guards whom were patiently waiting for my answer.
“I seek to stay for the night and resupply while gathering some information.” I answered cleanly.
The two guards looked at each other and nodded. I was expecting them to attack me but they sheathed their swords and let me through.
“Have a pleasant stay”
I walked through the large gate with ease after that and arrived at a stand that had a map of the city. This is really convenient.
[True. Now you won't get lost, well at least I won't get lost. I don't know about you]
Its not like I get lost easily. Anyway the inn is three streets up and five buildings to the left while the information guild his to the twenty buildings to the right of it. They must have designed the city to allow more efficiently for travellers. I started walking to the inn when llyfr started a conversation with me.
[Eden how are you finding my powers?]
Hmm? Why do you ask?
[Because most people either hate it with a passion or be consumed by it. In both cases they cause trouble to those around them]
I see. I don't find your power to be that bad. In fact I find it handy since I have the edge over other players when the time comes. Honestly if I wasn't sent to the tower and got you stuck in me, I've probably be in the library in Tellap town.
[Hmm....interesting. I still have things to discuss with you but first get some sleep. You're at the inn now]
That was fast! I was just talking to you for a bit.
The inn like everything else in this game was medieval style. The inn was made with a combination of wood and stone. The inn was three times as big as the other buildings next to it. I wonder if it was because this a a major city with all the new players I see and they need a way to give some sort of service to them. I opened the wooden door and heard the sound of a large number of people inside. They mostly ignored me a random person but some still looked. I made my way through the many people sitting at a table and went to the person at the counter. The person was a young female probably in her early 20s or late teens.
“What do you need?” the person asked in a kind voice. She was also taking orders form the people at the tables as well so I should make this quick.
“I wish to stay the night.” I immediately answered.
The lady smiled and said, “That will be 5 silver per night.”
I took out the 5 silver needed to handed it to the lady. When the silver fell to her hand, she asked, “Also I'll need your name for clarification.”
I wonder why they would need my name? Meh. It doesn't matter to me.
“Its Eden”
I thought I heard the place become a bit quieter when I said my name but it was probably my imagination.
“Your room is the one third to the left. Here's the key. Remember to lock it when you sleep.” the lady grinned and took the order of the person waiting behind me.
I ignored the stares of the people below and walked up the stairs and went in my room. I made sure to lock the door when I closed the door as well. The room in question was surprisingly similar to the one at the Sleeping Sheep Centre back in Tellap. It was completely simple but it served my needs. I got in the bed and started to sleep. I have a long day tomorrow and its been a while since I slept in a proper bed.
Part 2 – Rejection
I woke up to the sensation of my body loosening up. It has been a while since I've been able to sleep properly without any fear of being attacked out of nowhere or being kidnapped. Trying to adjust to this 'new' feeling I have right now I steadily got up from the bed and stretched my arms up high and then proceeded to stretch my legs as well.
[Morning Eden]
Morning llyfr, did you get some rest as well?
[I'm a being that does not require sleep so no]
Doesn't that tire you out? Or at least bore you?
[Not at all. I spend my time recounting what happened before so I'm never bored]
…...that's the definition of boredom right there. Anyway why do we need to go to the information guild anyway? We do have the mana detector on hand and we can track the mana fragment using just that.
[First check the mana detector]
Fine. I took out the mana detector from my inventory and looked at where the six remaining arrows are pointed. The arrow was pointing to the north-east. The mana fragment was around 100 kilometres away.
[Hmm....that's a fair distance to cover on foot. You should try to get a form of transport like a horse to travel there]
I see but why do we need to go to the information centre in the first place?
[To find out what that place is and how to get there! Did you not think on where exactly are we going nor how we get there? Have you not consider what enemies you will have to face as well?]
Well can't we deal with them when we get there? I thought the rest of the journey would be at least better than the first part.
[FOOL! That kind of thinking almost got you eaten in the first place remember?!]
The vivid image of being eaten alive once again appeared in my head. That was something I did not want nor need to remember right now especially before breaksfast. Speaking of breaksfast I'm hungry right now. The saturation metre is almost at zero right now and I didn't eat yesterday. Hmm...that's strange.
[What is it? Please don't think of something stupid]
Hey that's mean! Its been a while since I've eaten so why haven't I noticed at all and usually my saturation metre should've been at zero when I went to sleep. So why is it near zero and not exactly at zero?
[It seems you inherited another trait of mine when the seal on me broke. I noticed the mana absorption started all of a sudden when you were sleeping]
WAIT! The mana absorption started?! What about the people around this place?
[Calm down. They probably didn't notice a thing. Most of them were drunk and they don't exactly check their mana in a safe zone]
So what exactly is this sudden change?
[You body is more adaptable with my power and you can sustain yourself to a certain point using the mana in your body although this power seems to be incomplete so you still need to eat]

What was that? I was suddenly getting annoyed right now. I wonder why.....
[Anyway eat breaksfast and get to the information guild]
Yes yes slave driver. I got the key from my inventory and unlocked the door to the room I rented. I headed downstairs to find the place filled with people from yesterday sleeping at their table. It seems they fell asleep drunk. I have no pity on them when they wake up with a headache. I walked up to the counter and found the same person as yesterday there as well.
“Did you have a nice sleep?” the lady asked with a smile.
Was she here the whole time without any sleep?
“Good” I answered back while giving her the key to the room.
I looked back at the inn that also for some reason served as a restaurant as well. There was around 30 people sleeping and some spare tables around for me to sit at.
“Do you serve breaksfast here?” I asked the lady at the counter.
If they didn't then I'll buy something from the grocery store.
“Yes~” the lady answered once more with a smile.
She took out some sort of menu for me. I scanned through it quickly.

“This is the breaksfast menu~” the lady added as I looked through the choices.
There isn't much here but the place was also an inn so I wasn't expecting much. Most of this stuff was pretty cheap and probably didn't taste as good as a proper restaurant. I have no intentions on getting the so called special menu and I don't drink as well.
“I'll get two toasts, some water and sandwich”
“That will be 2 silver and 30 copper~” the lady smiled stretching her hand out for the money.
I have a feeling that this person was someone you don't want to defile. I took out the 2 silver and 30 copper and handed it over to her. She pulled out a plate with the toast and the sandwich on it and a glass of water out of nowhere. Was this magic? I have no idea even though I can use magic myself.
I took the plate and glass of water and said, “Thank you” before heading to a empty table.
I ate alone for a couple of minutes and my saturation metre went back up to 60%. Well its time to head to the information guild. I left the plate and glass of water on the table and left the inn.
The moment I got out of the inn I noticed that the sun had only recently risen meaning it was about 6 or 7 am right now. I made my way to the information guild passing by the few opened stores and a few people. It seems most people don't wake up early and prefer to sleep in. A couple of minutes later I reached the information guild and noticed immediately that there was a much larger quantity of people here than anywhere else.
[People seek information. Its natural that such a place would be crowded no matter the time]
So what do I need to find out?
[First the place where the mana fragment is. Then the means of transport and the enemies you would be likely to face]
Good, that's simple enough. As I walked through the door less entrance that was 3 meres tall and 5 metres in width I once again noticed that there were people staring at me for some reason.
[Maybe its because of the markings on your face and body]
Ah. Damn. I have to deal with it then. I shifted my hair to try to cover more of my face and walked to what seemed to be the main counter for everything in this place. The person behind this counter was also a female similar in age to the one at the inn but without the smile. She had a more mature feeling compared to the inn lady.
I went up to her and said, “I wish to seek some information.”
The person stopped what she was doing and looked at me.
Her face turned into a frown and she said quite distinctively, “We don't get information to demi-humans”
Then she went back to what she was doing before. Wait the hell just happened?
[She rejected you based on your race]
Isn't that racism?
[Yeah. Its quite common no matter what the world you're in]
So what now?
[Persist and try again]
A bit annoyed by the fact that I was ignored I tried asking in a less friendly tone. “I wish to seek some information”
The person without looking up to me said, “Didn't I tell you to leave?”
Damn this bitch. If it weren't the fact that I need information off of you then I would've tortured you right now. But I have to keep my calm.
I tried not to express my discontent with this bitch and asked again, “I seek some information off you. Or at least direct me to someone who knows what I want.”
My voice was more commanding this time and it seems to have back fired. The person backed away when she saw my face again and shouted, “Guards. Kill this beast!”
I thought I saw some fear in her eyes for a moment there.
Soon enough I was surrounded by 5 armed men. All armored and wielding spears pointed at me. This was kinda of a bad situation right?
[You could've resolved this peacefully but since its you.....]
Hey! I was kindly asking that person you know!
[You looked like you were about to kill her]
Really? I touched my face for a bit but didn't notice any difference. It seems I gained the attention of everyone in this place right now. A person being surrounded by armed people about to be killed. Damn why does this have to happen to me. Also why aren't they attacking just yet?
[They're waiting for a opening to strike. They know nothing of you. They are being cautious]
I see so I shouldn't do anything and they'll not do anything to me right?
[No, they're waiting for a chance to strike at the same time. Look they're nodding their heads right now. Put up a barrier before your killed]

“Mana Shield” I said.
“Damnit NOW!” shouted one of the guards. Wait all I did was make a shield for myself to defend with!
[And that made them think your going to do something]
All five guards moved quickly to stab at me.
Mana Shield took 213 damage

However my mana shield deflected the attacks and shattered in the process. They were at least strong enough to pose a threat. When my mana shield broke and their strikes were deflected they moved in again to strike at me. Making a mana shield will end up being destroyed. I have to disable them. I quickly imagined a barrier of wind that will rip apart everything that strikes at me.
“Wind Barrier”
Wind gathered and formed a barrier protecting me. Unlike the mana shield, this spell drain a constant amount of mana from me but would regenerate when ever broken. Problem was that I don't know how much it can take.
SNAP
When the guards' spear hit the wind barrier the tip of the blade was chipped away and it broke rendering the weapon mostly useless now.
“Damn Fiend.” muttered one of the guards.
So what I'm not human anymore. You don't attack things on sight you know. The guards backs away a bit from me but never took their eyes off me. I looked around the place and saw many faces that were either shocked or interested in what I was doing. Armless the guards at least tried to restrict any sudden movement that could harm someone. So...what now?
[We wait for someone more powerful than these fools to show up and hope they're rational]
So I have to wait here with these people afraid of me? I noticed that the person I was 'talking' to disappeared already. Maybe she's bringing her boss here or something. Soon enough it really happened.
“WHAT ARE YOU FOOLS DOING?!” shouted a loud man.
Everyone in the room looked at the overly bluffed man in armor. He was a giant of over 2 metres tall. You can easily deduct that he was a seasoned warrior with the authory his voice has itself. The man looked at me and the guards.
With a grunt he said, “All of you stand down.”
The guards immediately dropped their broken weapons and moved away from me. I myself deactivated by wind barrier spell but I did not move at all from the spot I was standing at. I saw the woman shaking behind the man. I see. It was her that brought this man here. Was he the boss of this place or another set of muscles?
“Hey...why did you not kill that thing” the woman commented on the situation before us all. She continued speaking against me. “You know that those things can't bee trusted. KILL THAT THING NOW”
It seems she was determined to get rid of me. I prepared a lightning bolt in my hand with was a consequent caused sparks to fly out of my hand. In that moment several more guards appeared and other players prepared to fight me as well. If I wanted to survive, I have to take them all out at once. I looked at the woman hiding behind the much stronger man and wanted to rip her apart.
I was expecting the man to immediately attack me for that act but all he did was raised his hand to stop everyone from attacking me.
He calmly said, “Maria you don't need to be so frightened. This one did not attack you and was simple defending itself.”
With that the guards and other players did not attack me but prepared themselves to attack when needed. I see that the humans in this place had a close bond with each other.
The man continued speaking, “Now then, to the demi-human over there. I thank you for not harming anyone during this...misunderstanding. The guildmaster has a great fear of those not human.”
I see that even in this world, racism still exist. And man sighed at the fact and continued.
“Unfortunately in this information guild, we do not or rather cannot provide information of any kind to demi-humans which include dwarves and elves. This branch of the information guild is not ruled by a king or count and they cannot interfere with our business.”
So that means I can't get information out you guys? What the hell do I do now? I don't even know where and what the next city is.
[Calm down. The man is still speaking]
“This...restriction is caused by Maria who is still hiding behind me. She has...close ties with some....people. However fortunately most people didn't like this idea of hers and tried to get rid of it. Unfortunately again this was not overruled for some reason.”
The man looked behind him at Maria with some hatred before speaking again. “For those who are not dwarves or elves such as yourself demi-human, we require for you to do us a favour first which is set by Maria here.”
I have to do that bitch a favour?! Man this place sucks. You think I have enough power to level this city llyfr?
[Not all of it but you can probably destroy a large chunk of it]
The one named Maria started talking after some reassurance from the man. “The test will be to slay a Cyclops near the forest of Serbine which has troubled this kingdom for a while.”
The man's eyes widened for a bit before going back to normal. Judging by his and everyone's else's reaction, this was very hard. “Also you need to bring some proof of the deed”

Ah! That's true. 86 levels in and I still have this crappy armor on. Hey llyfr, there was a armor store nearby right?

Part 3 – New Gear and New Comrades
Well I made it to the armor store. It was located near the city gate and right next to the weapon store and the grocery store which was very helpful. The stores were roughly the same size of around 10 metres in width. I opened the wooden door with a window and looked around the place.
The place had a couple of people already in their examining the merchandise. Well it was an armor store which along side with the weapon store was the most visited place besides the grocery store which had all the supplies. I noticed the merchandise was arranged in order of type. The helmets, chest-piece, bracers, leg guards and boots were all separated unless it was placed as a set. Hmm...what should I get?
[Anything that would allow you to survive. You don't need boots so I suggest you buy anything but that]
I see. I should get some bracers and some pants to wear. I went to the bracer section of the store which had no one there and looked at what the place had to offer. There was currently 7 different types of bracers I could buy. From what I could see, 2 of them was made of leather, 2 was completely made of metal and the other three was a combination of both. I rather not be burdened by the weight and I would like some defence so I have to choose from three of them then.
“Would you like some help?” A voice came out of nowhere.
I was already used to such things...kinda but at least I didn't scream out loud right? I looked to where the voice came from and saw a young man that was taller than me and had short brown straight hair and a pretty face. Hmm....I don't have the identify skill so...
“Can you identify these three items?” I asked.
From my request the man smiled at me and said, “Ma’am, all items in the store are all identified and you can see the details of them. However unless your of the blacksmith profession, then some details will inevitably be left out.”
Oh....that kinda makes sense.
“Its fine then” I said quickly trying to hide my embarrassment.
The man then left to attend to other customers. I picked up the bracer that had a metal guard but clearly made mostly of leather up.
Metal Guard Bracers Durability: 50/50 Defence: 8
A metal guard was sewed in the leather bracers allowing the wearer to parry attacks. However the metal guard was made thin to allow flexibility which lowers the defence.
Restriction: Level 80. Combat class
Effects:
Strength +3
Agility +5
It was kinda good in the sense that it added a bit to my defence without making my arms heavy. But I have to check the other bracers first. I picked up the next bracer that was covered in metal but there was leather underneath it to make it more comfortable.
Fluent Metal Bracers Durability: 60/60 Defence: 10
Bracers that was made almost completely of metal to allow blocking. The amount of metal used is average which allows some flexibility but more defence when attacked.
Restriction: Level 80. Combat Class
Effects:
Strength +5
Agility +3
This one was as good was the other one and it looked a lot better as well. I picked up the third bracer and noticed that it was a lot heavier than the other two.
Heavy Plate Bracers Durability: 80/80 Defence: 15
Part of a plate set for combat classes, these bracers will provide large amounts of defence in exchange of sacrificing speed. As these bracers are heavy, it will provide a bonus to attack strength but a reduction in attack speed.
Restriction: Level 80. Combat Class
Effects:
Strength +7
Agility -2
This one was....kinda crap. There was some leather made into this but for it to be that heavy is a minus no matter how you look at it. However if you combine this with the rest of the armor set, then you would be a tank which will be helpful in a party.
But I'm not in a party right now so this was useless. I discarded the thought of buying this particular set of bracers and looked but at the other two. Hmm....wait....combat class? Does this mean I'm unable to equip these equipment?
[No, you should be able to. My pass processors were all kinds of classes, not just mages]
Ah. Thanks for telling me. I decided to get the fluent metal bracers. Next is to get something for the lower half of my body. I left the fluent metal bracers behind and went to the leg section. There I saw many leg guards designed to be worn over pants. Now I think about I should get some pants later at a clothing store. I don't need that much defence on my legs so I just picked one that I liked the look of.
Light Leg Guards Durability: 50/50 Defence: 10
Leg guards designed to provide some form of protection against attack without restricting movements. Made partly from the hide of a crocodile, it adds more defence to the leg guard.
Restriction: Level 80. Combat class
Effects:
Strength +3
Agility +5
These light leg guards was mostly made of leather but had a metal guard under the 'skin' of it which provided some defence. The leather in some parts were hard while in other parts it was soft which allowed both a bonus to strength and agility. I don't think I need a helmet since I've facing a Cyclops but I could use a new set of pants.
[I don't think you'll need pants. You're used to this pair right? Also a good pair of pants could cost more than you have. How much Gold do you have?]
I checked the amount of money I had and counted 105 gold 31 silver and 19 copper coins.
[Hmm....I believe that the good quality stuff cost more than 100 gold. I suggest you forget about getting some pants since the cost of the armor may take up all your funds]
Well I should see how much two pieces of armor cost first. I took the leg guard and the barcers I selected and brought them both to the counter ignoring the fact that there was probably a price tag somewhere.
“The leg guards are 25 gold and the bracers are 35 gold for a total of 60 gold” said the clerk of the store. That was much less then I expected but it still costed most of my funds.
[Remember to see the gloves you have]
All yeah....I took out the cursed gloves and gave it to the clerk whom seemed to not noticed that it was cursed.
He then said, “I'll buy this for 3 gold and 40 silver so the total cost will be now 56 gold and 60 silver”
I took out the money needed and equipped my new bracers and leg guards and got out of the store before they notice that it was cursed. Now I have to get some supplies for the trip and then gather some information.
“Hey your the one who made a racket at the information guild right?”
Damn what's is it with people talking to me when I have my back turned on them. Anyway feeling a little annoyed I turned around and found there was several people gathered to greet me. There was 5 of them which consisted with two melees, an archer, mage and a priest. It was pretty much the same set up as Han's party but it had one less party member. Well I should reply to them to see what they want.
“Yeah, and what about it” I said with a attitude.
The person nearest to me smiled and said, “We can help you with the quest.”
This person was acting cocky. I could probably kill him but judging by the armor he and his friends are wearing I say he was past level 200 which meant they as a party could kill me. Well I have nothing against using people to make my life easier.
I replied with “Fine, as long as you know where that Cyclops is.” The man once more smiled and said, “In that case join our party.”
Don sent a party invite
“I accept”
The Quest “Hunt the Cyclops” has been added for your party
“Well then we already have the supplies needed for the trip. We can get to the Cyclops in around two days of walking. Introductions can come later.”
Without a comment I followed the new found party I have now out of the gate and onto the path to the ravaged town we need to pass by.

- RandomLeech...that idea with creation magic is indeed interesting but unfortunately the brain in MC isn't good enough to even comprehend he could do such a thing. Maybe when he's in a situation that forces him to think about his food supplies such as starving in a desert, he'll finally use it that way.
