Part 1 – Isolation and new Friends
I wonder when I'll get my new equipment.
[Be Patient. These things take time]
True but to think that guy had friends that were intermediate in blacksmithing and tailoring. I believe not many had such skills in this continent. Or was that only apply for players not the natives of this land. Well he did say that it would take a day for them to make it.
Flashback Time......
“So where are we going?” I asked the overly tall man next to me.
The man smiled at me and said, “To the blacksmith and Tailor of course. Where else are you getting new equipment. By the way I noticed that we haven't introduce ourselves to each other. I'm the head guard of the information guild, Oreal.”
I replied quickly with, “Eden.”
We walked a couple of minutes and eventually got to a fancy building. Unlike most buildings in this game, this building was actually colourful! It had countless different colours painted on the walls and was more looked more like a candy house than anything else....is it me or does it look like a cake on the side......man I miss the food I used to eat. Burnt meat and rye bread is causing me to lose my sense of taste. Well at least at the inns and restaurants I get some decent food.
“Eden your drooling.”
Oreal gave a small laugh at me.
Eh? What? Drooling? I quickly wiped my mouth and tried to hide my embarrassment.
[Are you that hungry?]
SHUT IT!
“Anyway we have to go in.”
Oreal had a hesitant look on his face. Why? This makes me nervous in going in as well you know....
“Oreal is have a wonderful body as usual” A voice came behind us next to me.
I looked over to where the voice was and I saw a man.....groping the giant known as Oreal. The man was as tall as me and was wearing colourful clothings. You could say that he was wearing a rainbow suit. This man was...well sniffing Oreal and Oreal was very very disturbed.
Cough
Oreal somehow managed to get this....pervert off of him. I looked away when he did it just in case it was offensive to the eyes. And it was the right choice the pervert that was groping Oreal was on the ground panting like he climaxed. God what did you do Oreal. I gave him a disturbed look.
“Hey don't give me that look please.” he begged.
After some awkward moments Oreal introduced me to the pervert. “This man is the head tailor in this city. His name is Pato.”
Pato got up from the ground and extended his hand to shake my own. I don't want to touch him nevertheless get near him now. Pato made a sad face and disappeared?
Grope Grope
The fuck? Someone was groping my breasts. I feel hands moving through my clothes and onto my skin.
“Such smooth skin. And your a guy! I want to take you home!” said Pato behind me groping the shit out of my body.
FUCK. Why do I always end up with weirdos and perverts!
In an enraged voice I said, “Get....THE FUCK OFF ME! LIGHTNING BOLT!”
I turned around and shot a powerful lightning shot at Pato. The attack missed and hit the building behind him and made a large dent.
Grope Grope
“Don't get angry, it'll waste your good looks~” said the pervert behind me again.
How the fuck is this guy teleporting behind me? I don't feel any kind of magic coming from him so was it due to his physical skills?
While enduring the groping I asked Oreal whom was very disturbed, “What did this guy do before he was a tailor?”
Oreal shook his head and said with great regret, “He was the caption of the Royal guards. Back then he was respectable”
What? This guy is....what? HOW THE HELL DOES ONE TURN OUT LIKE THIS?!
“I finally found my true colours after meeting a good friend~” said Pato while reading my mind.
He licked my ear......fuck this, I imagined a lightning armor surrounding my body.
“Lightning Armor”
Sparks came out of my body. It looks like this spell cost around 5 mana per second so that means I have 2000 seconds free of this guy. Pato was deflected away from me by this spell.
“You think you can escape me with just that~” said Pato mockingly. I gave him a 'I like to see you try' look and increased the power of my lightning armor.
Bing
Bing? Did something happen?
Grope Grope
Eh? Why the hell is this pervert groping me again?!
“Pato has the power to dispel magic to a certain extent. If you wish to stop him, you'll have to use a city wide level magic on him” coughed Oreal.
Really? This guy is THAT powerful. How does a guy like that become..this thing?
“Anyway Pato, we came to you to make a set of clothings for Eden whom your groping right now.” said Oreal trying to ignore the fact that Pato's hands are going places they shouldn't go......fuck.
Actually now that I think about why is there no one helping me right now? Is it because this guy is too powerful or is it because they don't care or both?
Pato stopped groping by body for a few moments to say, “What's the material?”
I answered, “Cyclops,” while trying to get free from him.
“Cyclops? How rare. Such materials are usually used for high levelled people. I see that this one isn't at that stage yet. Unless you want the cloths I make to be weaker than usual, I can't really help you.” said Pato waiting for my decision.
Damn, weaker clothes that I can wear right now or clothes that are powerful but I have to wait a while to wear.
“What if I give you this to enchant the clothes?”
Oreal pulled out a small gem that was the size of a handball. It was pale in colour and emitted a small light from the centre of it. When Pato saw this gem he let go of me which was very nice of Oreal help me out and immediately went to examine the gem in Oreal's hand.
“Is this? No. How? When?” asked Pato in a surprised voice. Was this thing in Oreal's hand that rare? Or was it something of value to Pato?
“With this you can enchant hundreds of clothes. Of course you have to complete this request first.” said Oreal in a very convincing voice.
“I already have the measurements.”
With that Pato snatched the Cyclops leather and ran into his building to start work. I stared in disbelief that a person would be that encouraged to do work from seeing an item besides money. I immediately questioned Oreal about what just happened.
“That gem is something very rare but has many uses. I believe that the price on the market easily exceeds 3 million gold. I was lucky enough to find one in a dungeon a couple of years back.” explained Oreal.
“But what does Pato need it for.” I asked.
“One of its use is to add enchantments to materials. If the material also had some special effects than it would either alter or add new effects the crater wishes. You can say this is an item all crafter want. It also has some use in battle but it's use outside of battle is far greater.”
“Wouldn't it be a waste to use for me?”
I was kinda guilty right now. How can I owe so much to one person.
Despite my dilemma Oreal smiled and said, “Don't worry, I was meaning to give it to him for years now. I owe him a couple of favours you see and so does the rest of the city. Anyway we should head to the blacksmith workshop now. Fortunately my other friend isn't as...unique as Pato.”
I hope so too.
A couple of minutes later....
We were at the blacksmith place now and this place was HUGE! I swear that this place was at least three times the size of any normal building.
“Unlike the tailor, a number of equipment is needed for a blacksmith to reach his full potential. For starters you see the huge furnace right? That's for mostly melting metals. The hotter the fire the quicker this can be done. Next you see the anvils. Mostly for hammering metals and fixing stuff on. Than you see the large number of tools on the side. Well most of the space was used for the furnace. The rest was to give the blacksmiths some space to work in. You don't really want to work while bumping into your co-workers every second right? Well my friend should be the one that's making the most noise....”
BANG BANG BANG BANG
The sound of a hammer hitting metal? Well this place was a blacksmith workshop but to make so much sound...what on Earth is this friend making?
“We should go in before he goes into a state where he ignores everything around again.”
Oreal walked into the blacksmith workshop which I saw had a number of people working there. I think there are a number of players here since they stopped and looked at me and Oreal when we went in. Why I know they're player? That's because those who are working hard ignore everything around them to a certain extent besides the ones that require you to communicate with other people. Well there's no point in looking at people who don't even do their job right.
Eventually we got to the very back of the workshop where I saw something amazing again...a man was making a siege weapon and was flipping it around while forging it. How high does one's strength stat have to be for you to do this easily. I can see that other players are amazed by this as well.
“Ryan RYAN! STOP WORKING FOR A BIT WILL YA!” shouted Oreal when we were near the blacksmith named Ryan.
Ryan was bald which made it easier for me to describe him. He was overly muscular like how you would imagine blacksmiths and had a moustache. He was less tan than I though he would be as well.
BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG
He wasn't listening.....damn.
Oreal sigh and said quietly so no one but me and Ryan could hear, “Your daughter is getting married.”
“WHAT?! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME EARILER!!!” shouted Ryan in a loud commanding voice.
His voice caused everyone to turn their head and look at him awaiting commands. He was THAT important?
Oreal took a moment to let Ryan's emotion stabilise again and said, “I need you to make a weapon and armor for this one here.”
Ryan took his gaze off Oreal and placed it on me. He was staring at me. It wasn't a perverted look like Pato but it still made me nervous for my life.
“What's the material? This one is kinda weak so I'm limited to what I can make.” said Ryan after examining me.
Why do people consider me to be too weak? I took down a Cyclops you know.
Oreal replied, “Cyclops bones.”
Ryan looked a bit shocked and said, “I still have that gem you gave me before so I can make a weaker version of the stuff I make. It'll still take a day to make though.”
Why does everything take a day to make? I think I saw some players make gear in less than a couple of minutes. Well it was kinda low levelled but and I suppose that the higher levelled gear would take longer to make but for it to take a day?
“That reminds me, I need to take your measurements.” said Ryan.
He went over to me and took a piece of rope. He tied it to me and untied it several times on different parts of my body. Well this was the proper way to measure one's body....not groping the hell out of the person.
After he finished Ryan asked Oreal, “Who's the bastard that tricked my daughter,” while holding his hand tightly like he was crushing it.
Not flinching from the pain Oreal replied, “That was a joke.”
Ryan's eyebrows knitted together. He was obviously pissed at Oreal and he tightened his grip on Oreal. “That's not a very funny joke.”
Oreal once again replied normally ignoring the fact that Ryan is practically crushing his hand with, “You weren't listening to me so I had to. Now let go of me.”
Ryan let go of Oreal's hand and took the Cyclops bones with him to work on. But before that he said to me, “Do you prefer light or heavy armor?”
“Light” I said immediately.
I hate the fact that I can't run around fast in the battlefield with heavy armor on. If I was a bit slower in many of my previous experiences I would've died. Ryan went to get something and Oreal pulled me out of the blacksmith workshop so I won't interfere with Ryan's work.
“You know that I'm under level 100 right?” I asked Oreal immediately.
Cyclops were in the level 300s and that usually meant that the gear you can make out of it was around that level. Unless the stuff I'm getting were enchanted with the Cyclops stuff I can't see how I can even wear it let along use it.
“Don't worry, you'll see. Both Pato and Ryan are top class crafters. I know they can make a good set of armor for you. Of course this isn't for free.” said Oreal with a evil smile.
Crap I was wrong I trusting this man. What the hell will he take from me? I don't have any money anymore. Shit...he is considering my...body?
“Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Man your that nervous are you? All the cost is in the materials I gave to the two. That stuff cost a lot to get since Cyclops are so rare these days. They'll use the leftover materials later for something on their own. Don't worry about the cost. Its free considering what Maria made you do.” laughed Oreal.
Well I'm glad that I'm not losing my purity to something like this.
“Anyway I'll sent the stuff to the inn your staying in later.”
With that Oreal left to the information guild.
Now back to the present.......

[Why don't you do another quest instead of just sitting here? You do have to get stronger quickly. Go to the information guild if they have a hunting request or something]
Fine. I got up from the bed and went downstairs. I rented a room for a while so I don't have to be worried if someone tries to rent the room as well.
“Hey isn't that...”
“The one at the guild...”
“Demi-human”
“It killed a Cyclops right?”
And people were deciding to gossip about me now. Great....I went over to the door and went out of the inn while ignoring the fact that people were more alerted when I was around. Anyway I arrived at the information guild and I noticed that Maria the one that caused me so much trouble was not here. Instead there was another person doing the job that Maria failed to do.
I went up to the new receptionist lady and said, “Do you have some request I can do?”
The receptionist looked up at me and said, “There are a number of requests the guild is has that you can do. You may select one over that and bring it to me.”
This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work.
The receptionist pointed at a board that was crowded with people trying to select a quest to do.
“Hey have you heard that some town was attacked by undead?”
“Yeah, this could mean a rise in quests to clear out undead!”
“But I hate fighting them, they smell...”
Some people had a conversation that didn't concern me. I went over to the crowded quest board but people were blocking my way. It seems some people want to dominate the board to get the low risk, high pay jobs. But I don't care about all of that.
“Move.” I said trying to get the attention of these fools.
But they ignored me. They continued to push each other out of their way in order to get to the board. But there was a particular group of people at the board itself and not moving.
“Move now.” I said emphasising on each word.
One person turned around to see who said something thankfully. But what came out of her mouth was not nice, “Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Demi-human!”
With those words everyone pretty much turned around to see that I was here. And they all decided to get out of my way as well with the exception of the ones at the board. I think they were of the same guild since they were wearing the same crap on them. They did turn around to look at me but gave a me a look that told me to piss off.
I walked a couple of steps to the quest board and said to the 5 fools that were blocking my way, “Move. Your in the way.”
The one directly in front of me and properly the leader of these fools said, “No. We're still selecting our quest.” with a small grin that said they could get away with this.
I sighed. Why do these people exist in practically every place known to man? I walked up to them and tried to get pass them to the quest board. The five pretty much tightened together to block my path.
Pissed off I said in a threatening voice, “Move or die. Your choice.”
Hearing these words the punk in front of me said, “I'm from the 'Headless Might' guild. I wouldn't mess with us if I were you.”
He had a smile of superiority when he said this. Hmm....headless....headless....where have I heard this before?
[Remember the people who tried to recruit you?]
No why? Can I kill them?
[Do whatever you want]
Well, I'll do just that. I imagined these fools being shocked to death.
“Chain lightning”
From my hands, lightning came out of them in large quantities and flew to the five in front of me. Due to its nature the five fools could not even move when being shocked and were quickly burnt black and died leaving a grey flame.
You have killed a player. Infamy increased by 100. You have gained the Murderer mark.
You have killed a player. Infamy increased by 100
You have killed a player. Infamy increased by 100
You have killed a player. Infamy increased by 100
You have killed a player. Infamy increased by 100
Hmm? Murderer mark? What's that? And why did my infamy increase when I killed these fools? I was expecting to gain some fame since these guys are bothering other people. I looked around and saw that everyone was very far away from me now. What did I do? Its not like I'm threatening them.
[Eden you just killed 5 people in a moments glance. I believe this murderer mark indicates those who killed their peers and takes a while to disappear. Pray that you don't get kicked out of the city for this]
Well I don't really care about getting kicked out of the city.
[You may not get the equipment Oreal promised you]
Shit! I spent so much time getting the materials and now I may not get the promised shit Oreal promised?! How do I get rid of this murderer mark?
[Either donate money to the church or do a lot of stuff that helps the city]
I don't have money on me so I have to do the latter. Man I was trying to do some easy work but now I have to do the quests that benefit the city greatly...I looked at the quest board that was divided into the difficulty levels. The highest rank was 'C' and there was only on quest there. But just in case I looked at the other quests there.
Quest List
Rank: C
- Hunt the Harpies
Rank: D
- Escort the merchants to towns
- Hunt the bandits
- Help investigate the ruins
Rank: E

Well most of the stuff I see are things that are completed by new players....they are utter crap. Well it looks like I'm doing the 'Hunt the Harpies' quest. I took the piece of paper that had the quest details on it and went over to the receptionist to apply for the quest.
“For all 'C' ranked quest, you need to be in a party.” said the receptionist ignoring the fact that I just killed 5 people and everyone else was trying to get away from me.
I asked the receptionist, “Can't I just do the quest alone?”
The receptionist immediately responded with, “Guild policy. I can't do anything about it. It was changed quite recently to decrease failure rates of quests.”
Wait this policy was changed RECENTLY?!
“When was this policy changed?” I asked trying to get a quick respond.
The receptionist bluntly said, “A day ago when the guild master wanted to review guild policies.”
FUCK! That damn bitch is trying to get in my way no matter what. The next time I see her, I'm killing her! But first I have to get this quest. I quickly scanned the room to find at least someone to party with but everywhere I looked, people avoided my gaze.
“Looks like your having some trouble.”
I turned to where the voice was coming from and saw what you would call a beauty. She had long blond hair and had a face you would often see in paintings of Goddesses. She wore a paladin style armor that was mostly blue and gold.
“Yes I am. This new policy is annoying me.” I said to this blond beauty.
The blond beauty started laughing quietly at my words. How come people are laughing at me more recently.
“Well this policy is annoying me as well. Want to party?”
Alexandra sent a party invite
Should I...or should I not. Might as well.
“I accept”
You have accepted the party invite
[Eden I feel a strange feeling form this one. Be careful]
Great.....I'm partying with a weirdo now.
The person named Alexandra walked up to the receptionist and said, “We accept this quest.”
The receptionist responded with, “I hope for your success.”
Ding
You have accepted the quest 'Hunt the Harpies'
Harpies, creatures of the sky have been hunting down towns in the Kingdom. The King has requested that some brace adventurers to eliminate these creatures for the peace of the Kingdom. The Harpies has been sighted nearby in the villages to the south.
Rank: C
Restriction: Elimination of all Harpies
Reward: 100 gold
“Well lets go. If we hurry, we can finish this quest in a day.”
With that she walked out of the guild and headed to the southern gate of the city. I quickly followed her ignoring the fact that many many people were staring at us.
Part 2 – Harpies
We were walking down the path which would take us to the villages that were getting attacked by the harpies. We started talking about ourselves and what we could do.
“Well you can consider me to be of the mage class since I mainly use magic.” I said trying to keep the fact that I was a BIT stronger than most people in many ways.
[A 'bit' is an understatement]
Alexandra noted that I was a mage and said, “I'm...well you can consider me a paladin. I'm a bit different from normal paladins.”
Well I can see that. Normally paladins are highly sought after since it was a class associated with churches and had a high survival rate even when soloing. Paladins can be split up into three types. The offensive, defensive and support types. Guiding by the fact that Alexandra was wielding a large two handed great sword, she was of the offensive type.
So we have a sort of mage and a sort of paladin in this party. Well hopefully Alexandra has a long range attack since harpies are flying creatures. Wait I still don't know her level. It should be in the 200s right judging by the armor she's wearing.
“Alexandra what level are you?” I asked in my kindness voice ever.
Alexandra was taken a bit back when I asked her about her level. She took a moment and said, “Tell me your level first.”
Hmm? Why would she want to know my level first? Well there's no harm in it.
“Level 92.” I said.
With that Alexandra sighed I relief and said, “I'm level 95. I'm glad we're near the same level.”
Why would she be glad that I was near her level?
“Well the thing is that my class is a bit unique and a bit more powerful than normal. Since I heard you killed a Cyclops I was thinking that you were a considerably high level. I see that you also have a powerful class if you could handle a Cyclops on your own.”
Umm....there was a party with me that got killed but who cares about them.
“Also its nice to have a girls night out!”
Eh? Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
Trying to calm myself I was about to say I was a guy but considering the circumstances and what I could do......the possibilities....
[Eden this could end really bad for you if you tell a lie]
Right.....shit. All my hopes and dreams.....
“I'm a...guy.”
Alexandra was shocked. But not the way I expected she was.
She quickly smiled and said, “This will be interesting later on.”
She had that evil schemer smile on her face. I had a sudden chill when I saw it.
Some time later....
We arrived to where the Harpies were. We had to run around to find these things but it was worth it in the end. There was 21 Harpies in total. The village was already doomed so we don't need to care about saving the survivors. Both of us were sneaking nearer and nearer to the Harpies to get a good surprise attack. Apparently Alexandra has a long range attack that she can use. The plan we agreed on was for me to attack first then Alexandra to follow up. We don't really know each other's true abilities so this was a first to both of us that usually hunt alone.
I imagined the Harpies that were on the houses and in the sky to be stuck by lightning. I targeted as much of them as possible, especially the ones in the sky.
“Lightning Bolt times 10”
10 bolts of lightning cam out of my hands and hit 10 of the Harpies which killed most of them. Alerted to the presence of enemies all of the Harpies decided to attack us. Well us sneaking was useless right now so I got up and prepared another spell to use.
“Sword Wave”
BANG
Alexandra swung her sword in the direction of the Harpies. A wave came out of it and flew a couple of metres to hit and cleanly kill some Harpies. Now there were 12 Harpies left. Seeing that they were outmatched, the Harpies decided to run away but I wasn't going to let them go.
“Wind Vortex”
FLOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHH
Wind was sucking in everything in the area. The Harpies were trying to escape but my spell trapped them in the ruins of the village.
“Sword Wave”
BANG
Alexandra shot another wave to the centre of the wind vortex and made a big explosion killing the Harpies in one go.
Ding
Quest Complete
Go to the information guild for your reward
You have levelled up
You have levelled up
You have levelled up
You gained 10 fame
Infamy decreased by 50
“Hmm...I levelled up three times” I said out loud.
“I levelled up twice.” said Alexandra.
With that returned to the information guild for our reward.
“Here is your reward, 100 gold.” said the receptionist. I took the bag of gold and split it 50/50 between the two of us. If it were up to me, I would've killed her and take all of the gold for my self but llyfr said it would be a very bad idea if I did.
Alexandra came up to me and said, “We should party from now on.”
Without a reason to reject her I said, “Fine.”

Author's Notes:
- Well there goes the simple plot.....
- This chapter is a bit over 5000 words long since I can't be bothered to get the actual number
- Next week we have a setting up chapter with almost no action!
- Been reading Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria. Its actually interesting.
- BTW the rest of this volume consist of MC learning a new (more efficient and easier to write) way of using magic in between some combat here and there....
