Part 1 – The Shadow
The shadow charged straight at us turning its hands into deadly weapons as claws that can rip apart stone easily.
“First and second seal release!”
Releasing the First Seal gives the following benefits:

- Mana Absorption is Activated
- Strength is Increased by 20%
- Agility in Increased by 40%
- Movement Speed Increases by 15%

Releasing the Second Seal gives the following benefits:
- Mana Increases by 10000
- Gives Rapid Natural Mana Regeneration of 100 mana/second
- All Skills rank up by 1
- Spell Damage Increases by 150%
- Spell Range Increase by 80%
- Strength is Increased by 40%
- Agility is Increased by 80%
- Movement Speed Increases by 30%
- Defence Increases by 40%
- Resistance to Magic Increases by 30%
- Fighting Spirit is increased by 40%
Time Limit: 30 Minutes
I really didn't want to use this since it helps the corruption in my body spread if I use it too much at once. However it doesn't mean I can't use it at all since the first seal is simply my power being sealed while the second seal is llyfr's power.
Another reason why I'm using this mode is due to me discovering a way to make sure Alexandra's and Viv's mana doesn't get drained that much anymore.
Mana Absorption Intermediate Level 1
The ability to use the force of the enemy and everything around you as fuel. Does not require direct contact and range cannot be controlled. As the skill increases the power of the drain and its strength increases.
As of reaching the Intermediate Levels, you are able to reduce the amount of mana absorbed from party members.
Absorb 15 mana per second passively
Range: 100 metres
Reduce Mana Absorption from Party by : 10%
Well I kinda still absorb 90% of the normal amount plus reaching intermediate level with this skill actually made the mana absorption worse but it can only get better when it finally reaches the advance levels.
But I didn't tell them that its actually worse now for obvious reasons...
“ROOOOOOOOAR!!!”
The Shadow creature prepared for its attack as it ran around the room in speeds that were impossible for its size.
“Dance of Water!”
Dance of Water is activated
Dodging a claw attack, Alexandra went in and slash several times at the Shadow creature in the air leaving little to no marks on it.
I decided to attack with her as well.
“Burst Strike!” I shouted.
My body moved faster in a straight line towards the shadow.
“Burst Strike!” the shadow shouted moving at the same speed, no faster than me now.
What the......This is bad!
BANG
A large force has rendered you stunned for 2 seconds
I was knocked away from the shadow from the sheer speed and power behind its attack. You got to be kidding me, it can use my skill?!
“Slow!” shouted Viv.
The Shadow was slightly slower for a second but regained its speed by easily breaking the curse placed on it by Viv.
“ROOOOOOOAR!!!”
Noticing the one who just tried to debuff it, the Shadow headed for Viv in a straight line at high speeds.
“The Forest that protects, let your seeds grow to defend me! Defence Roots!”
WHACK WHACK WHACK
Three giant roots were summoned and moved to defence Viv by attacking the Shadow.
“Holy Bolt! Holy Bolt! Holy Bolt!” Alexandra shot out three bolts which fell from above the Shadow
BANG BANG BANG
But it quickly dodged each of them by using short jumps away like a grasshopper leaping around.
Fire Formation ? Ball Form ? Multicast(20) ? Homing Shot ? Fireball Barrage
“Fireball Barrage!”
I summoned 20 fireballs and launched them at the Shadow but they were all quickly negated via a quick tail whip by the Shadow.
“Damnit, how high is this thing's magic resistance?!”
“Looks like physical attacks are a bit more effective on this thing!” shouted Viv shooting a couple of magic arrows at the Shadow to try and distract it leaving Alexandra an opportunity to attack at its blind spot.
“Holy Aura!” Alexandra summoned her Holy Aura over her body but it gathered on her sword creating a dense and large Holy Aura around her sword.
I have a good feeling that this kind of attack with have a great aftershock that will most likely harm us more than the Shadow.
But before I could even say a single word, Alexandra already moved in to attack next to the Shadow
“SWORD WAVE!” she shouted while swinging down.
BANG
The place where the Shadow was, was completely destroyed. The Shadow was just next to the blast radius barely dodging it.
“Impossible!”
That thing was next to Alexandra when she attacked! How fast is it anyway?
“O forest, O fierce forest. Your children have travelled countless lands, countless seas and have rampaged on the four corners of this world. Light and water gives strength to your children and I ask that you strike the ones that disrupt this balance. Strike Roots!”
Viv created some roots to strike at the Shadow that was literally a small dragon. However the Shadow bit the roots into pieces before firing a couple of mana shots at Viv.
BANG BANG BANG
Viv dodged them in time and casted several spells to try and counter in quick sucession.
“Magic Arrow!”
The Shadow moved back a couple of metres and started gathering some more mana again.
“Fire Field”
The ground started to glow red from the heat. The very same ground that Alexandra was on.
“What the....what the hell are you doing Eden?!” shouted Alexandra before running off it in panic.
Umm.....I'm not the one who did that so....the shadow just used my....yep this is bad.
“Fireball”
A giant fireball appear in front of its hand and flew to me. I jumped away to avoid it but...
BOOOM
The blast hit the back of me but most of it was deflected off my cloak.
Thankfully my mana was also regenerating pretty fast but we only have half a hour to finish this due to my time limit.
“What the hell is it doing now?” I asked since the blast made my vision shake a bit.
“Its using your spells against us obviously! Ah DAMNIT!” shouted Alexandra before I heard a couple of large blasts where she was originally.
By the time which I regained my vision it started creating a large number of fireballs in the air which were aimed at me.....I knew what this attack was....shit.
“Fireball Barrage”
Then 30 fireballs flew to strike me at the same time.
Neutral Formation-> Mana Shield
“Mana Shield!”
A just managed to make a Mana Shield in time to protect myself.

My mana shield survived the barrage of attacks though a bit cracked, I knew that this wasn't the end. I...it still has the fire spears and fire drills as well to use against me. Man I wished I didn't invent those overpowered spells.
“Fire Spears”
Another dozen or so Fire Spears appeared and were shot into my Mana Shield.
“Why is it targeting me?!” I shouted at the other two who were casually observing the battle between me and this Shadow creature at this point.
“I think it likes you” said Alexandra.
“Yeah, its only using your techniques and only against you” added Viv.
This doesn't make me happy! I rather it shares the love with you two as well!
As the Fire Spears ran out in numbers my mana shield had holes in it now. I could've made more but I didn't have the time to divert some power from the current one that was barely keeping up with the attacks.
“Fire Drills.”
Oh great....the torture tool I made now....honestly everything is coming back to bite me now.
Yet again another dozen fireballs were created in the air and were formed into Fire Drills.
This is bad, really bad. I'll get killed right now if I can't stop it!
I took out the water stone from its ring and crushed it before the spell was completed in the brief amount of seconds I had.
Water Stone has been Destroyed
- Corruption will spread faster
- Now able to use 1 high powered Water Spell
One spell...that was enough for now.

“Tidal Wave!”
I aimed at the Shadow that was still preparing its attack and made a large amount of water form in front of me and pour to the Shadow like a great tsunami.
Noticing the scale and nature of the attack, the Shadow used its wings to fly above it in the cost of concentrating to fly cancelled its spell it was preparing thankfully.
“Magic Arrow!”
“Holy Bolt!”
Alexandra and Viv did not let the chance to attack it fade away and immediately started their own assault on the Shadow which was dodging the large number of projectiles thrown at it.
Oh really? Now they attack it?
The Water from my spell also cancelled out the Fire Field spell the Shadow used though the water boiled a bit and kinda hurt to be in due to the heat. The water was around knee deep at this point before the water would slowly disappear by being drained.
That should be good enough to stop most of the fire spells it may throw at us later.

“Thunder Bolt!”
I shot a simple Thunder Bolt at the Shadow at high speeds.
BANG
The attack didn't affect it at all....
However thanks to this minor distraction, the Shadow was bombarded with the rentless attacks of the other two which included several Roots binding it while Alexandra spammed her powered up Sword Waves at it in quick succession.
“...”
This scene reminds me never to anger them both at the same time since that could be me there getting killed.
“Grrrrrrrr”
Overwhelmed with the attacks the Shadow fell to the ground scratching it with its claws and making a threatening sound.
It was critically injured and was unable to move anymore. Alexandra went up and finished the Shadow and smiled in victory that she finished the Holy Trial so easily.
“What the....”
However I had a dreaded feeling right now. Something was off. I remembered back 3 months ago with my conversation with the old priest and realised that the true test was only beginning.
“Alexandra get away now!”
Black smoke came out of the Shadow's body. Black smoke was enough to cover most of the room up in darkness.
The shadow's body was being twisted in all sorts of manner as it transformed into something larger. Something that I should've seen months ago. Something that the other two should've realised sooner.
The Shadow began bigger. A true sized Dragon that was hundreds of metres large. Something the mere players couldn't touch at all.
“You got to be joking.”
“ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR!!!!”

My hands were shaking.....at the sheer force that this Dragon has. The strength of its intimidation was a lot stronger now as well thanks to it upgrading itself to face us.
Then I remembered the words the trial gave us.
'Do not fear the Darkness for it is yourself. But fear it because it is you. Destroy the Darkness to complete the Trial. When the Darkness dies so will you'
Those words means that if this Dragon dies then so will I since it is my darkness....so it should work the other way around. I really do hope my interpretation of the text is correct else we might as fail right here and now if I'm wrong.
I have to die to complete this trial.
Not Alexandra or Viv, but me.
“Viv set up a defence perimeter for us to fall back to! Eden get here and help me block off its attacks!”
“Alexandra kill me now!” I commanded.
“...”
“...”
The two stared at me....well three if you include the bloody Dragon as well.
Alexandra was startled for a second and said, “No! We need you to defeat this thing!” before turning to face the Dragon again.
The Dragon started breathing fire and the roots were barely holding it in place. Viv was running out of mana and I could tell since the number of roots were decreasing and he had a worried look on his face.
“Either way, I will die! Now kill me since you were the one who dragged us all here!”
I dropped my sword and held my arms wide open to let her cut and kill me like in scene in a crappy movie.
“What makes you think that?!”
“The words the Trial gave us. This Dragon is my Darkness and is me. One cannot exist without the other so if one of us dies then the other will as well. Why do you think that it didn't kill us all when it has the chance? Because killing me will kill it and that is not its purpose. Its purpose is to test us and unless you kill me we will fail!”
Alexandra thought about it for a bit. Long enough to know that if the Dragon truly intended to kill us all that it would've don't so already.
“Fine, but you have so much mana so it may....take a couple of shots. Also I need to kill you at least once for all the trouble you've caused me over the time we spent together.”
Trouble I cause? Don't say I remember such trouble occurring because of me.
“First and second seal activate.”
First and Second Seal has been activated
With my boosted stats gone I was pretty much as vulnerable as I could be. Well I could take off my armour as well but who has the time to do so.
“Holy Bolt!”
Bang
Alexandra shot one of her Holy Bolts at me. It hit me and it hurt like hell.

“20 more of that and I'm dead. Anything else?”
Alexandra prepared herself and shouted, “Holy Aura!” and gathered her Aura onto her sword focusing it.
“SWORD WAVE!”

I was blasted away with the attack.

I was still alive and that means it hurt like hell.
“DAMNIT WHY CAN'T YOU KILL ME PROPERLY?!”
“Well, YOUR DEFENCE ARE TOO DAMN HIGH I SAY!”
I think I saw both Viv and the Dragon face-palming themselves in the corner of my eye.
Alexandra gathered her Aura onto her sword again and shot another wave at me.

Part 2 – The Reward

What the....why the hell am I still alive? Don't tell me I came back as a zombie....I checked my limbs to find that they were all fine and normal.
Everything seems to be fie as well.....I looked around to fine that the Dragon disappeared and the whole place was scratched and broken up thank to our battle.
Then there was Alexandra next to me pouring her Holy Magic into my body. Judging by the events that occurred it was most likely that Alexandra was the one who revived me.
“Alexandra when did you learn Revive?” I asked waiting to see her shocked face that I was actually alive.
However the face I wanted to see did not appear at all. She did answer me though which was a bit better than her hitting me to death.
“A while back. You're lucky that this spell worked first time round. You only had a 5% chance of being revived after the corpse of the Dragon disappeared.”
I looked at where the Dragon was at before and saw a black stain on the ground. It was like black ink was poured over it. However more importantly the exit was opened on the other side of the room. We went in it to find something more interesting than we though. It was the end of the cave and there were three pillars and a stone tablet on the ground waiting to be read.
Alexandra picked it up and started reading.
“Congratulation on completing the Holy Trial. The last time this message appeared was 300 years ago for Saint Knight Heffin. In front of you there should be three pillars which are your reward. The one to the left will enchant your Life, the middle will enchant your Magic while the one on the right will enchant your Skills. Each of you three must pick one and only one. This choice will reflect the reward and the rest of your life. May the Gods be with you.”
We looked at the three pillars again to find that they had a symbol engraved on the front. The one on the left had a warrior on it, the middle a magician and the right had a rouge. I presume that we have to touch it to get whatever reward we want.
“So which one do you guys want? Someone else can get the Magic one since I can't use it.” I said looking at them.
“Well you should enchant your life even though its hard enough to kill you.” said Alexandra.
Yeah....I noticed thank you.
“Yeah, it may help with your problem. Now which one should I take?” said Viv eyeing between the Magic Pillar and Skill Pillar.
So it was already decided that I was to get the life Pillar.
“Al, I think you should get the Magic Pillar since you have been trying really hard to improve your skills with Holy Magic. Honestly neither me nor Eden has any need to be become any stronger in the Magic department.”
I thought back on when several times I achieve great and more than often used Magic to completely crush my enemies whether it was a single foe or an entire army.
“So I take the Life Pillar, Alexandra will take the Magic Pillar and Viv will get the Skill Pillar.”
We each went to our pillar and placed our hand on it which caused the Pillar to collapse and reveal the reward we would take.

I got three messages and all of them did not make any sense....wait they do! One tells me that I get awesome bluffs while the other tells me something about gaining a skill and the third one on how I can't use the new skill....
“Is there anything else?”
I searched through the rubble of the pillar in hopes that there was at least something else there. In the rubble of the Pillar there was something shiny in there. It was a necklace. I picked it up and another message appeared.

So...my I went from being some weird creature with a combination of several different species to being a Dragon completely now? This doesn't make sense at all. Well I have to see what happens later. Is the corruption on my body gone now? Or is it still spreading like normal? Can I use high power magic again? Or do I still have to use these stones as a catalyse still?
But before all of that I need to ask another more important question.
Anyway what is this necklace?
“Viv can you identify this?” I asked passing it to him. I look to see that Viv got a ring from his pillar while Alexandra got a pair of earrings.
Viv passed my necklace back and I looked at its details.
Necklace of the Dragon (Sealed) Durability: Infinite Defence: 40
Made for the Holy Trial, this contains the life of a Dragon that has volunteer to help another in their darkest hour. The Chain is made from refining Dragon Bone and mixing it with metal to make something nearly indestructible while the Gem in the centre was made and polished from the Dragon's Heart. This Necklace holds many powers that are unknown to Mortals.
This Necklace is bound to Eden and cannot be dropped

“What's wrong?” asked Alexandra grabbing the necklace to see what was going on. She burst out laughing when she saw what the Necklace did. “Man you really can't take a break can you.”
“Well, what does your Earrings do?”
She threw me her earrings while she let Viv see my Necklace.
Earrings of Blinding Light (Sealed) Durability: Infinite Defence: 20
Made from collecting light into a crystal form and condensing it. Given to the Holy Templar that completes the Holy Trial and grants them great power based on their choice. It is said that these Earrings will help guide the way for the lost and repel the darkness of the world. This Earrings holds many powers that are unknown to Mortals
These Earrings are bound to Alexandra and cannot be dropped

- Less chance of being inflicted with Blinding effect
- Holy Skills effectiveness increase by 40%
- Holy and Dark Resistance increase by 10%

This was not bad at all. Too bad its bound to Alexandra else I might steal it. I gave her Earrings back to her which were wore immediately and took Viv's ring and looked at it.
Ring of the Witch (Sealed) Durability: Infinite Defence: 10
Made for the Holy Trial, this ring processes the skills of a powerful Witch that once helped the Churches of the land hunt down evil. Centuries of skill have been transferred into the ring. This ring was made from the final ashes of the witch in the 7 gems that surround the gem that symbolises her power with certain Magicks. However the greatest of all Witch Magicks will always be the creation of Golems.
This Ring is bound to Viv and cannot be dropped
Restrictions: None
Options:
- Less chance of being inflicted by all curses and debuffs
- All skills will be 10% more effective
- Curses will be twice was likely to work on targets
- All stats increase by 30
- Will Seal Skill Create Golem in current state
- Will slowly restore fatigue over time
This one was very nice as well though each of these things we get have similar things in common.
“Did you guys get a large bonus by choosing your pillar, a new skill and a quest?” I asked.
“Yeah.”
“Yep.”
“And are these quests related to unsealing the skill in anyway such as finding out more about it?”
“Yeah.”
“Yep.”
“Okay then, want to share the details of your new skill that you can't use? Show information on 'Dragon Transformation' to Alexandra and Viv.”
Dragon Transformation Beginner Level 1
Created to replace Body Transformation, this is a skill to transform your body into one of a Dragon, the absolute force of destruction in the world. This skill will help seal off the Body Transformation skill and cannot be used if Body Transformation is active or in skill list.
This skill is the core of power itself. One of the most powerful and deadest transformation skill in existence, it turns the user into a Dragon. Teeth turned to Fangs, hands turned into Claws, the body itself becomes a weapon that can destroy empires and create them anew. With an enormous amount of strength, this form can be sustained for a long period of time.
Skill can only be used after after the Quest 'Path to control the Dragon' is completed.
There are 5 stages in Dragon Transformation.
Stage 1: Initial Humanoid Dragon Transformation (Limbs)
Stage 2: Part Humanoid Dragon Transformation (Tail and Wings)
Stage 3: Half Humanoid Dragon Transformation (Transformation with human characteristics)
Stage 4: Humanoid Dragon Transformation (Human form Dragon)
Stage 5: Full Dragon Transformation (Final Form)

“Oh wow...so you can fly and stuff later and give us a lift whenever we need to? But you can't use it since Body Transformation is still with you. But turning into a Dragon is still awesome as hell” said Alexandra in excitement.
“You know that it doesn't replace my Body Transformation skill right?”
“Al....Eden's problem still remains but at least the corruption from your body will be gone when you finish the quest you were given. I think there will be a choice on whether you will keep one of the transformation skills. Show Information on Create Golem to Eden and Al”

Create Golem Beginner Level 1
The Ultimate and most well known skill that a Witch can have. Using the resources from Nature itself, Golems; a created being that obeys the order of the Witch that created it is made. It is popular to make Golems from rock or metal since they have high Health and defences to block attacks for the Witch. However other kinds of Golems can be made such as from snow or wood though much weaker than Stone and Metal Golems but more flexible in use.
Skill can only be used after after the Quest 'Path of a Witch' is completed.

Dirt Golem: 500
Snow Golem: 1000
Wood Golem: 2500
Stone Golem: 5000
Metal Golem: 10000
“Viv I don't think we need a Golem” stated Alexandra.
“Why?” I asked curious why a perfectly good meat shield was not needed.
“Because you Eden, are our meat shield.” she said.
“What?! Why?” I demanded.
“Because you took 2 sword waves. 2 fully powered and buffed up sword waves and was perfectly fine.” she teased.
“I died after the second hit!” I retorted.
“Anyway, show information on Light Burst to Eden and Viv.”

Warrior of Light Beginner Level 1
A burst of light shaped in the form of a giant warrior. One of the most powerful light based skills in existence, this skill allows the user to become the warrior of light that protects all from darkness itself. It is said that the tear of the God of Light dropped and became a warrior that slay all sinners.
Skill can only be used after after the Quest 'Path to Create Light' is completed.
Stage 1: Initial Partial Materialisation (Limbs)
Stage 2: Sustained Partial Materialisation (Bone Body)
Stage 3: Half Materialisation (Flesh Body)
Stage 4: Humanoid Materialisation (Partial Armour Form)
Stage 5: Full Warrior Materialisation (Full Armour Form)

“Okay.....I thing this skill is going to be very very powerful one day.” I said out loud with great concern.
The cost of this skill was really high but I believe that soon it would be similar to a mass destruction type attack that you cannot escape from due to its power and size.
If my suspicions are correct then, when this skill reaches Intermediate Level it would be equal to my Dragon transformation skill in terms of size and power output. Well in terms of DPS, its actually much higher than my skill as well but the amount of mana needed to use this over and over again is really too high.
“Anyway let's find that Mana Fragment before we get back to town. I rather collect it now then later.”
Part 3 – Phoenix
When we reached the outside of the castle we noticed something was wrong. There was no ice. This was the northern continent and it was known to be covered in Ice even after the broken witch item was collected and used to cool the continent down. But....everything here was melted. I could see the ground not covered in ice and snow.
I took out the mana detector that I have almost forgotten about and it was going crazy....which means the mana fragment was near.
“This is really bad....”
I thought back on every encounter I had with a creature who had a mana fragment. Every single time I experienced death or worse such as turning into a girl for starters.
“Is it me or is it a bit...red here for some reason.” said Alexandra observing the place now.
She was right, this place was strangely more red then I remembered though it could be just the contrast between the original blue white colour to the slightly red brown colour.
“Something is flying to us!” shouted Viv while setting up a defence we can hide in. However Viv did not get the chance to do so as the creature soon was near us landing in front of us.
It was.....a Phoenix but pink. A legendary creature of fire that can revive after being killed but this one is pink. I heard the Weed has one but I don't think that one is this.....its much larger and more powerful than the Weed's Phoenix. Was it due to the power of the Mana Fragment or....was this its true power or was it because it was pink.
[Mortal....the scent of a Dragon is stronger on you. Before you had the scent of several different races perfectly balanced. What happen?]
The Phoenix started talking to me out of nowhere. Wasn't there going to be some grunts and a full fight where I get burnt alive?
“Umm.....I don't really know. I just finished the Holy Trial in there.” I answered as best I could.
[Did the Reward include an item that would turn you into some sort of Dragon? Or did some ability change?]
“Yes.....both of those things happened though.”
[In that case you may have this 'Mana Fragment' as you call it. I have no need for it however the remaining 3 may not be the same]
“Why....?”

A shiny Mana Fragment flew from the flames of the Phoenix and onto my hand.

The flames that surrounded the body of the phoenix bittered about and increased in size and intensity.
“So....what are we going to do?” I asked.
“Well I'm going to run away. My magic isn't compatible with fire. Also this has nothing to do with me.”
With those words Viv ran as far away as me as possible.
“Wait for me!”
With him, Alexandra also ran away.
“...”
[It seems like only you will face me. Good! I always wanted to face one of the Dragon species]
“Umm....”
I had no plan nor time to do anything to even block a proper attack from this Phoenix. Just great.....
Fire gathered in the Phoenix's mouth and soon burst out in my direction.
Neutral Formation ? Mana Shield
I formed as many mana shields as I could by they all melted in face of the intense flames, even though we are in a very cold area where fire was not that effective.
In my dying breath I could see the other two who ran away get scorched alive as well. They deserve it, those traitors.

Part 4 – The Shadow of a threat
The person named Maria and various other people who were the enemy of Eden and others, were gathered once more to discuss what went wrong. They were....being attacked on all sides. Allies they thought they could use turned on them while enemies knew more than they should on their dark secrets. Each of them wore a different mask now since they did not know who betrayed them or not.
'Was this the work of the King of Davion' they thought.
“Give me the reports on the location of the thing first” ordered Maria.
A man hurryingly started giving his report which took months to write up.
“The thing was last at Morata under the care and protection of the church of Freya. Nothing else is known since we can't get into the town at all. When we do the Paladins kill us, even the natives.”
Everyone was pale at this report. Maria's grand plan was falling apart without her knowing what was going on. However she still had some good new for everyone to increase morales. But she needed to get everything negative out first and make it even better for her position.
“Anything else we need to know? What are the damages to our....group.” she asked cautiously. Since she was the one who started this hunt, she was the one who held the most responsibility when things went bad but she managed to push all the blame to someone else first to save her life.
Another group of men came in and started their reports.
“We will talk about the reports in chronological order then. After several guilds joined us and the bounty we had placed on Eden was given, there have been a number of people hunting Eden.”
Maria was mad at their wording.
“I believe we are talking about that thing not a being called Eden.”
She did not recognise that something not human had a name to speak. She was brought up properly but her very nature prevented her from being a good person. You cannot expect to change a person from being rotten if they were rotten from the very beginning.
The man making the report coughed and continued making sure to 'correct' himself as he went.
“The first case of the Hunters cornering the thing was the guild 'Tasters' or was it 'Cookers'....who cares....which had 50 members wiped out when 3 of their guild-mates found them and got closer to deal the kill. The next instance where they encounter was the other guild I mentioned found the thing in the nearest town helping the townsfolk revolt against them. Naturally they retreated and regrouped and sent an army of 500 to hunt the thing down.”
The majority of the group was impressed. To so such a thing required great skills in communication and planning.
“So was the thing killed?” asked one of the nobles in a mask.
The man hesitated before reporting, “No, the entire army was wipe out single-handedly.”
There was a grim silence until Maria pushed them forward.
“And what happened next.
“The townsfolk drove the thing out.”
“Naturally.” she arrogantly said as if she brought them a great victory, “and what happened to the thing next?”
Another man stepped forward and gave his report.
“He went into the Haunted Forest. Before that we managed to get some people to surround and capture but the plan failed when they were all killed and he and his companions ran into the Haunted Forest which was when we lost of communication with the group until the reappeared later in the City of Clearwater.”
Maria frown. This was bad. How can one thing outrun and outwit their entire network.
“Next!”
Another man appeared to give his report.
“We were...unable to touch him while in the city. The Blade Master guild made sure of that and ever since he came out of the forest the members of the church were...acting strange. They started to make sure people didn't get in contact with the thing unless it was necessary and our network suddenly had a big hole in it. We had reports that the thing destroyed the city later on with a single swing or something alone those lines.”
“That absolutely ridiculous, Next!”
Nothing can destroy a city like that. If it was anyone it would've been a human since humans were always the best at everything.
Another person started his report.
“This time we were able to locate the thing in the open seas where we disguised some pirates we hired in the King's colours under your orders to attack, capture and kill.”
“So what happened?”
“A Kraken appeared and killed our men while the enemy ship escaped.”
Maria face-palmed herself hard. How can these people be so useless?!
“And what happened next?!” shouted Maria.
The people giving the report stood silent until one of them said, “Nothing. We couldn't get in Morata and we are being hunted down by every church and every kingdom now!”
More gossip were made in the room and some even considered running away. Now was the time to use her trump card.
“Shut it!”, Maria waited until everyone was quiet, “I have some good news. We have been joined by a special, very special person now to help us. Have you all heard of the Blood-Stained Sage?”
There was some hope after all. If that Sage joined then the group would have so much more. Credibility was so simple with his crest and the resources it is said the Sage had were so much that it was too good to be true.
The doors opened to reveal a slightly order man with a respectable aura and a deathly feel around him. Everyone moved an inch away from him when he appeared.
“I see that this is your base. Is everyone here Maria?” the sage asked.
“Yes!” answered Maria excitingly.
The sage smiled in an evil way.
“As of this moment, you all will be under my control!” shouted the sage.
At that moment everyone stiffened by the slight fear they felt from the sage. Maria too felt this and smiled. It appeared that she found the right person to hunt down the plagues of the land.
“What is your first command.” asked Maria in expectation.
The sage looked at her with his eyes that saw through everything.
“Its too dangerous even with my help. Making an enemy of one of the main forces of the continent is not a wise idea.” the sage pondered aloud.
“So...”
The people in the room were expecting something brilliant. Oh how wrong they were.
“We do nothing at all.”
“...”
Everyone except for the sage stared at him with disbelief.
“This man is useless.”
“Let's get out of here.”
There were some chatter of the masked nobles in the room. Then...
“Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!”
The screams of death.
The sage smiled brightly as if nothing happened.
“Did someone dare defy me?”
The people in the room, especially Maria all thought at once that it was a mistake to bring this man here. They were all reduced to slaves. Slaves to a demon in human skin.
