Part 1 – The Return
I opened my eyes and found myself in a very familiar place. It was the mage tower that I was in for a period of time training. The place hasn't changed at all, not that it would considering how little time pasted when I left forcefully by a teleport. Well I should find Warlic somewhere since I did kill the rabbit monster that had the mana fragment.
[OI, you're finally back eh]
Wait what?
[What, you don't recognise my voice?]
Wait wait wait. What the hell am I listening to?
[Sigh]
What the hell is that disappointed tone?
[Hurry up and find Warlic. He'll explain everything for your tiny brain]
That pissed me off a lot.
“Just wait a minute here. Why the hell are you insulting ME in the first place?! I have no fucking IDEA what you are and there you are saying whatever you want to me! And what's with your voice going inside of my head for no REASON?! You can probably read my mind right, where the hell is my privacy here? I don't know....MAYBE IT DISPPEARED WITH YOU you SHITTY VOICE!”
I looked around the place I was in, trying to locate where this shitty voice was while I was insulting the thing.
“Eden watch your mouth.”
I heard another voice. This time it was very familiar to me. I turned around to see Warlic sighing at my usage of words in his home. I could do nothing but stare in shock on how fast he found me considering that I just logged in again.
“I could hear your voice on the other side of the tower.”
Oh. Sorry.
[He gets a apology and I don't? Damn Brat]
The voice just insulted me again.
“Fuck off.” I said to the very annoying voice.
Then a sudden force pushed me to the wall making a small dent in the highly reinforced stone.
You lost 120 mana
“Eden watch your mouth. This is my last warning.” From Warlic's mouth there was a voice full of malice coming out.
Shit this is bad. I pissed him off. Hopefully I won't get killed later, hell being killed is fine with me since he'll be torturing me if he's this angry.
[Brat your thinking the right thing right now. Never. Ever. Make that man angry. Trust me, I know the worse things that could happen.]
Eh? The voice is telling me that Warlic is THAT dangerous.
“Now now llyfr. I didn't cause you THAT much harm.” Warlic had a smile on his face.
I never seen him like this. Its almost like he's getting out of character right now.
[Oh so ripping apart my body and regenerating it constantly wasn't much harm to me? Wait, you boiled me in lava before if I recall then proceeded to deep fry me and fed me to a dragon to see what will happen. Man that stuff didn't even scratch the surface of what evil things you did to me. You really fooled almost everyone with your act of kindness. Even I thought of you as a good person until you started doing THAT to me]
Wait what was THAT? Was it really that bad?
“What are you talking about llyfr? That was Crysero.” Warlic still had that frightening smile on his face as he said it.
So he's still blaming it all on Crysero eh. Even in the past....well I don't blame him Crysero IS that crazy that you can probably blame almost everything on him.
[Really? Man my memories are still messed up. Sorry about that]
Wait?! Are you just letting it go just like that!? Was this another trick!? I don't know anymore.
As I was being confused about what just happened Warlic drew his attention to me and said, “Eden come with me now. I have some things I need to check with you.”
I hope that nothing bad will happen.
[True]
It seems I earned some sympathy with the voice now.
Part 2 – Some Explanations Needed Here!
Warlic had me sit down on a chair and proceeded to examine my body using some sort of magic. Several magic circles appeared around me and Warlic started to say “I see” several times when he looked at one. After several painless minutes passed by, Warlic started to talk.
“Eden do you know the state of your body right now?”
Um.....no. My body seems alright to me, I have no idea what your talking about.
“Judging by your confused look right now, I say you don't. llyfr's seal has been undone to a certain extent and his power is influencing your body. This influence will both benefit and harm you at the same time. I have no idea what will happen in the foreseeable future but accounts from the past all point at you dying a horrible death.”
Eh? I was still shocked at the part that this llyfr thing was influencing me. What is this llyfr?
“Um...before all of that, can you explain what is llyfr?” I asked timidly since I still have the thought of Warlic doing something evil to me.
Warlic chapped his hands and said, “Oh I forgot about that. I sometimes forget that people of this world don't know a thing on what llyfr is. Even though most people of my world don't either.”
[Well considering that these events happened so long ago, I'm not surprised.]
Again where is this voice coming from?
[Look down Brat]
I looked down on llyfr's suggestion and saw nothing out of the ordinary.
[Right now I'm in your chest area. That's why I can communicate directly to you and vis versa]
Um...that makes some sense I guess.
“And if llyfr desires it, he can talk to other people near you as well though they can't see or rather feel him in the first place unless they have some special conditions.”
I see. Well at least I don't have to worry about talking aloud and people thinking I'm talking to myself like a madman.
“Anyway back to the story Eden. Llyfr is a being of great power, one capable of facing the Gods of my world and most likely the Gods in this one was well.”
That's amazing! Many beings have submitted themselves to the Gods because they wish to gain some power off them. To think there was such a being that could challenge the Gods in me right now.
“A long times ago before I was born which wasn't that far back mind you, llyfr challenged the directly Elemental Lords like my stupid apprentice. Basically the Elemental Lords sent down their Avatars to deal with llyfr but they were destroyed in the battle that was llyfr's victory. Seeing this, the Elemental Lords set foot on the world which itself strain it massively. The reason why, even though their presence disrupted the balance of the world would do this is that llyfr's presence also caused the same effect due to his abilities.”
“And what abilities would llyfr have to do so much damaged?”
Was llyfr THAT powerful?
“llyfr had two abilities that are both basic but very powerful. The power to absorb anything and the power to create anything. I believe you are familiar with this power Eden.”
Ah! The mana absorption and creation magic. So it was llyfr's power.
“llyfr gain so much power during the fight with the Avatars that he was at the same level of the Elemental Lords though never suppressing them in raw power. Long story short, the Elemental Lords were unable to destroy llyfr and sealed him in the form of a book that contains all the powers he gathered in his life.”
[Well that sums it up. I already had a considerable amount of power before the fight with the Avatars. But man the Elemental Lords were strong. Well they did rule over the concepts that make up the world. Nothing worked on them]
Well I really don't have any thoughts on this story besides how overpowered the Elemental Lords are....though it'll probably be the same if you face a God.
“Anyway now that we got that done, we can discuss what happened to your body. First check your status window.”
Okay...it seems the first thing you would check if something happens to your body is the status window not your actual body.
“Status Window.”

Hmm? There doesn't seem to be any kind of change. I think I gained three levels from killing the rabbit but I lost one when I died so I have 10 points to spend. I quickly placed them all in intelliect before saying to Warlic, “There doesn't seem to be any change.”
With my comment on the status of my character in general, Warlic scratched his chin and said, “I see.” before thinking about something. I wonder what's going on in his head.
[He's probably trying to determine what change happened in you when I fully awakened.]
So there could be some other change that could occur besides on my stats?
[An example would be the skills you have. Perhaps some of them were altered a bit]
Okay then, let me check.

Umm....llyfr was it....nothing seems to have changed in my skill window as well.
[Hmm...that's strange. Usually there's some change. Perhaps its because your body is still too weak to handle my full power]
“That may be true llyfr. The solution could be more training but we don't exactly have that much time to leisurely do it.”
So...in the end the problem is that I'm too weak AGAIN! I'm much stronger compared to other people playing this game at my level!
[Well your kinda weak compared to those we know in our world or universe]
“Also this level system you have is different from the level system is our world.” Warlic added on, throwing more salt on my mental wounds. It wasn't nice of them to pick on me.
Trying to stop them form further picking on me I said in desperation, “Anyway what do we with the other mana fragments now. I have no idea where the first one when after the battle.”
Warlic widened his eyes for a split second and then took out a small shiny shard of some sort. He added, “This is the mana fragment you collected.”
Wait WHAT!? The mana fragment I tried so hard to get was CASUALLY with Warlic the whole time?!
[To be more precise I gave it to him after you died. If I didn't then the mana fragment would be left where you died and you didn't want to hunt for it again right?]
That...that makes sense but still.....
Tears came out of my eyes. All that hard work and this man in front of me had it without me knowing.
“Anyway you can become stronger as you collect the other mana fragments. Now check where the nearest one is.”
I took out the mana detector from my inventory. I immediately noticed that there was one less arrow now. The other six arrows were all pointing at different directions......the closest one was 200 no 300 kilometres away......this is going to be a long journey. I looked to my right and found Warlic staring at the mana detector as well.
“Well it seems to be a waste of time for you to walk the whole way to the next mana fragment so I'll help you a bit.”
“Wait wait wait, are you going to teleport me into some forest again?” I remembered the previous experience I had but this time there was no Crysero around to mess things up.
[Why are you so worried?]
“Yeah I've been studying the continent while you were having fun in that tomb a while back. I'll make sure you land near a large city to help you out. Also I'll increase the amount of mana you can use to 10000. Don't overdo it Eden.”
A teleport magic circle appeared under me.
“Wait how did you know that I was in a Tomb-”
I was teleported before I could finish my sentence.
Part 3 – A New Start
I once again fell head first on the ground.
You have lost 10 mana
And the usual message appeared again. Well I am getting used to it.....wait that's a bad thing right?
[Brat, scout your location before anything else]
I'm not a brat! I have a fine name called Eden here.
[Fine, I'll call you Eden in exchange that you listen to my advice seriously]
And why would I do that?
[For starters there's a bear about to kill you]
Feeling Danger I activated a mana shield at once.
Mana Shield took 281 damage
Man that was close. A three metre tall brown bear stood on its legs and slashed at me. I would've definitely lost a limb or two if not for my mana shield. Anyway I got up from the ground covered in leaves and moved a couple of metres away from it. It wasn't moving or attacking me. Why?
[It seems its confused on what happened. Take this chance to kill it quickly. We have to know where we are in the first place]
Right. I imagined the bear being blasted by five fireballs that came form my hands.
“Fireball times 5”
BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM
As soon as I chanted the name, five fireballs each with the diameter of 2 metres consecutively hit the bear killing it. The corpse of the bear fell on the ground and made a thump sound. The majority of its body was burnt and the sound was pretty strong. It seems I overdid it.
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
[Well according to your status window, you are level 86 and you have the benefits that comes with being my host]
True anyway I looked around and found that I was in another forest. But this time I felt the presence of other people in the area. Well it wasn't like I could feel them but....
[Ah so that was the change in you]
Eh? What change?
[It seems your senses have been sharpened with my awakening]
What does that mean?
[Think of it as having a radar on you at all times. It seems this ability is restricted with the Burning Snake Seal you have on you. It'll probably work properly when you undo the seal]
So if I undo the seal now then..
[DON'T There are other humans in this area. They will find it very suspicious that their mana was drained. I heard the churches in this world hate non-humans besides the dwarves, elves and Orcs with a passion. You don't want to be hunted right?]
Fine. At least I know there's a large city just west of here even though its not functioning properly. But before I head there I should loot the bear. I walked to where the corpse was and took the couple pieces of copper and some bear meat before heading to the city gate. When I was a couple metres away form it, I realised that the city was very big. The walls were at least four metre tall and I could see a castle on the highest point of the place. I used my confused senses to find the nearest gate which was to the left of where I was currently located.
After a minute of walking I saw a large number of people gathered around and the slight of them being owned by rabbits.......I think back to my own experience with the purple rabbit and shuttered at the thought of facing another one any time soon.
“Hey! You over there!”
I heard a very loud male voice from somewhere. I looked around to see what was going on. It probably doesn't involve me at all. I started once more walking to the gate where there were two guards checking everyone that comes through. But before I could even walk five metres to it a hand grabbed my shoulder and stopped me.
“Hey I was talking to you.” said a man that was puffing out air form the short sprint. I turned to look at the man. He was a bit taller than me and had average looks. He had the newbie armor as well but carried a iron sword and a circular shield on him. He was short brown hair and looked as if he was rolling in dirt for a while.
“What do you need.” I answered coldly.
The man was startled by my expression but still proceeded to annoy me.
“Would you like to join my party for a hunt?” the man asked with a bit of sweat coming out of him from nervousness I guess. The man pointed at a group that already contained five people. I see no reason to accept, he already had plenty people with him to not die so easily.
“No”
I started walking to the gates once more but the man stops me again. I swear if he does that one more time I'm going to cook him alive and feed him to goblins.
[Calm down Eden. This could be a good chance to gather some information on the city. Also you can properly measure your strength with this group of his]
I did agree on following llyfr's advice. This one so bad. While I was have a conversation with llyfr it seems the man was trying to have a conversation with me. I really have no idea what he was saying before so I quickly said, “Fine, as long as you don't bother me.”
You have accepted the party invite
Wait a party invite? The man suddenly had a happy expression on his face. I wonder why. He lead me to the group that was four males and one female.
“The one to the left is an archer level 7 named Jack. The one next to him is called Mark, a level 6 warrior. Then there's Adam a level 7 warrior along with his brother Moses a level 7 mage and the gem of our group Natalie a level 5 cleric.”
Man they were really low level. I have nothing to say but this group sucks. I looked back at the man who introduced his teammates.
“Ah, I didn't properly introduce myself, I am Han a level 10 swordsman. Don't be surprise at my skills in battle.” Han started to laugh out loud and his teammates did as well. Well I should give them an introduction as well.
[Remember to keep your power as hidden as possible. Its probably not wise to tell them your true level nor a fake one since we don't know the standard]
“I'm Eden a mage.”
For some reason the one named Moses got happy when I said my class even though I kinda lied. Well I might as well get along with them for a bit until I learn everything I need.
“So Eden did you just start?” asked Han
I need to make it seem like I'm a new player.
“Um...yeah, I might not be much help to you guys.”
Han smiled again and said, “That's fine.”
Han said something about taking a challenge and led the group deep in the forest. I really don't care since most things near the city are really weak compared to me right now.
[Don't let your guard down. I believe someone once before went to a place with weak monster to pick on them to face a dragon almost immediately. Morale of the story is to never underestimate anything. Always use the right amount of power]
Right. But I can't help it that I believe this group would be fine without me. There's six of them.
[Anyway try to get close to them]
True. I started to observe the group I just joined. The one named Jack had a bow half his height so I presume he's a rapid fire type archer. He was wearing a helmet along with some iron on it for better defence. He was roughly my height.
Mark was a two metre high man that carried a equally big great sword. He had short blue spiky hair like you see in some anime.
Adam had a similar build as Han. However he didn't have a shield and was shorter than me.
Similarly Moses looked like Adam but was wearing a worn out brown robe and had a wooden staff.
Natalie the so called gem of the group was....well average looking. She like Moses wore a robe but it was mostly white and had a glossy looking staff. Well that's it for their appearance, I can't say much for their personality but I hope it isn't similar to Han.
“Wolves!”
Ah it seems something is happening.
“Jack, Moses, Natalie, Eden fall back. We'll handle this.” commanded Han.
“Tch.”
Did someone tch just now? I couldn't see who made that sound. Anyway I ran back a bit with the other three and saw a wolf appear in front of us. What I thought Han shouted wolves not wolf. I kinda disappointed right now.
[Eden Observe them]
Right right. Hans stood in front of the wolf while the other two stood a bit to the side on his left and right. It seems this formation was to let the wolf attack Han and allow the other two to gang up of it. I stood at the very back of the formation with Moses and Natalie. Jack was a bit in front of us since he has more physical capabilities then magic users I suppose. Well it was a stable formation as long as the three in front don't die.
“Rapid Shot!”
The three in front quickly moved away form the wolf and Jack fired a set of arrows that barely grazed the wolf.
“Fireball”
Moses next to me fired a fireball towards the wolf. I need to see how powerful a regular fireball is since I kinda am 80 levels higher than them. The wolf quickly dodged the fireball and it made a burnt mark on the ground. I'm surprise that the ground didn't catch on fire with all the leaves around. The wolf then quickly ran towards Moses but was blocked by Han.
BANG
“Now!” shouted Han.
Adam and Mark quickly ran to the wolf that was next to Han and started to attack quickly. The wolf surrounded by three people couldn't escape but instead started attacking them.
“Healing hand”
Natalie next to me healed them whenever the wolf attacked. I see this is a safe plan as long as Natalie has mana to heal the three in front. Jack was also sniping the wolf through the small gaps between the three surround the wolf. Eventually after a minute of constant pounding the wolf finally died. I didn't even gain a percent of experience from it. Well I think the majority of the experience goes to the one who kills it and the rest gets split depending on the contributions to the battle...so that means I get next to nothing either way.
With a grin of victory Han and the other two returned carrying the loot.
“Jack find us another wolf to kill.”
Jack immediately went somewhere obeying Han's order. After a few minutes Jack lured another wolf to the group. Man do I have to endure more of this.
[Just a bit more. Try talking to them]
Fine. This better not end up with them attacking me.
[Its not like they can harm you]
“Hey Eden you should try to help out this time.” commented Natalie.
While worded like an insult of some sort, her voice was surprisingly sweet. Well I should try to help these guys out though I have to moderate my power to their level. The three in front once again acted as bait and allowed the rest of us to attack. This time I attacked as well.
“Lightning Bolt”
ZAP
I fired the weakest lightning bolt passed the three in front and hit the wolf that was stunned for a split second before jumping back a bit. The wolf was alive and all so that should be enough.
“Rapid Fire”
“Fireball”
Jack and Moses immediately attacked seeing that the wolf was away from the others. The wolf tried to dodge the attacks but was still damaged so it affected its evasion skills and took the attacks leaving it in a bloody state. The three in front took the chance to once more gang up on the lone wolf and kill it.
Part 4 – Wolf Slayer
It has been a couple of hours since I joined this party to 'hunt'.
A total of 20 or so wolves have been killed all individually. From these hours and the awkward conversations I had with the other party members I found out that I was in the Kingdom of Dawlin, in the city of Ulteon. I have no idea where this place is but it was probably in the central continent and pretty far away form the Kallamore Kingdom.
I also learned how to moderate my power during the hunt with the help of llyfr. But right now the party is in a sticky situation. We're surrounded by a pack of wolves right now. A situation I'm quite familiar with though I never had a problem dealing with them. However the other party members were all sweating with fear and unable to do anything with a rational mind like trying to escape.
[Eden its best for you not to do anything right now]
Why? If I do nothing these guys will die.
[And if you save them they will question you about your abilities which will lead to them seeking more information about you]
So I just need to act like I'm scared? That's more annoying then just killing all of the wolves.
[Deal with it]
No.
[Don't test me]
Why you...
“EDEN WATCH OUT” screamed Natalie.
A wolf went in and tried to attack me. I quickly rolled out of the way. The rest of the party backed towards the centre of the circle the 7 wolves made. They didn't want to die and was kinda looked like they would sacrifice one of their teammates if they could to escape. Well it wasn't my problem so I also acted like them waiting for the time the wolves kill them all so I can finally be released from this pitiful party.
Jack drew his bow and aimed at one of the wolves. Firing an arrow at it, the wolf dodged the arrow cleanly and proceeded to go back in the circle formation slowly walking around us and closing in bit by bit. This was getting nowhere. I have to prompt them to fight back so they'll die quickly.
“Hey we should attack.” I suggested to the party.
“Why...why should we. The wolves will target that person and kill them” responded Han. The image of a 'leader' crumbled away when the situation took a turn to the worse.
“So one of us has to die?” asked Adam who was also clearly frightened.
“Then shouldn't it be Jack. He lured them to us.” suggested Mark trying to sell out his friend.
“Wait that wasn't my fault. Anyway didn't you see the wolf I shot at dodge my arrow easily. If I attack then they will dodge” replied Jack trying to deter him form being sacrificed.
“Well I'm the cleric so I have to survive.” added Natalie. I thought clerics were suppose to be kind people that cared for other people besides themselves. Guess I was wrong.
“Then who has to die?” asked Han in a panic. I should try to resolve this.
“Well four of us are swishy which means there are three people that can survive even for a bit.” I said with no emotion in my tone.
“What? This is your fault!” shouted Han. He was definitely trying to kill me off. Not that I cared in the first place.
“Wait! Didn't you ask her to join us in the first place. Trying to make her join your shitty guild later on by making her owe you one.” shouted Natalie. Wow so he did have some motive when he talked about something to me.
“Eden already agreed to join right?” Han was trying confirm something and I don't like where this conversation is going.
“No idea” I replied not caring on what will happen next.
“WHAT? You still haven't made her a member of the guild?!” screamed Adam.
I looked at the wolves. They were definitely closer then they were a couple of seconds ago. It'll be soon that they will attack at the same time. Hey llyfr what spell should I use in this situation?
[Hmm....considering that you are stronger than you used to be. I suggest a Earth or Ice spell since it won't show how much more powerful you are too much]
I see. Then I'll use an Ice Spike attack then.
“HEY EDEN ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME?!” shouted Han in my ear. Man that was very loud. Is there a spell that blocks out sound.
[You can always drown him in a bubble of water or put him in a vacuum]
True but the wolves are about to attack. And they did. All seven of them jumped to attack us in the centre at the same time. Man do I really have to protect them.
[You can get some information out of them later]
True.
“Mana Shield”
A transparent shell appeared and covered the whole party blocking the attacks of the wolves.
Mana Shield took 55 damage
Mana Shield took 42 damage
Mana Shield took 61 damage
Mana Shield took 63 damage
Mana Shield took 59 damage
Mana Shield took 51 damage
Mana Shield took 53 damage
Their combine attack just took off a third of the health of my mana shield.
“Wha-what the hell is this?” asked Han in astonishment. Well it seems this skill is rare for people to see but its time for the counter attack. I imagined the wolves being pierced by a spike of ice each that reached far form the ground.
“Ice Spike times 8”
STAB STAB STAB STAB STAB STAB STAB STAB
240 mana was consumed and eight ice spikes erupted from the ground and pierced the wolves killing them in one shot. I dispelled the mana shield and went off to collect the loot.
The others could not help but to be speechless by my act and stood there staring at me.
