Part 1 – The Place Known as Morata
The first thing I noticed about this place was that it was cold. Really cold.....
Well I expected that since this was the northern continent...not used to cold weather at all because I originally lived in the southern hemisphere in real life. Down there, winter isn't that cold, a bit chilly but not cold enough for large amount of snow to pour down on us.
“Achoo!”
I rubbed my runny nose in displeasure. Unfortunately all I had on was a shirt and pants so there was little protection from the cold. However this was not the most discomforting thing I had to deal with.
“My lady! Please wear this coat!” shouted a fool while trying to force me to wear a lump of fur.
“You fool! This cape made from the finest wolf fur will do!” shouted another fool while pushing the first fool away.
“Damn you all! I will warm the lady with my raw body.” shouted the final fool that was stripping away his clothes.
“...”
That was really really disgusting.
I really really want to kill these fools right now...
Fortunately the game would not allow him to take everything off in public but the scene for a grown man in his underwear jumping to me was enough to scar me for life. Frankly I had enough of this.
Not even a hour travelling to Morata and I had to deal with over 10 incidents of this kind of action.
The stripping man was restrained by other players that knew that this kind of behaviour was unacceptable. I walked up to this 'thing' and said one word.
“Die”
Before chopping his head off in one go like I was playing golf.
You have gained 100 Infamy
Ah~ That feels much better~
Blood spattered out of his beheaded neck. The ones that were restraining the guy before, quickly moved away from me and drew their swords only to notice that the blood diamond mark on my forehead appeared and quickly disappeared within a second.
I don't blame them for being confused here. The mark is the indication on whether someone is dangerous or not. Plus this was one of the few times besides going into war, that you are allowed to kill other players without penalises.
Confused, they simply left the incident alone since they did not want to attack a player with no murderer mark even if they saw that person killing a man in front of their eyes. However they were still conscious of me.
“This has to stop sometime...” said a certain witch rubbing his wooden staff to warm it.
“Why did these people suddenly.....well even this didn't happen before....” said a certain blonde Templar that thanked the fact that her armour insulated heat quite well.
The two companions on my side simply sighed at this scene. Honestly why didn't they come help me deal with al the perverts in the world.
“How many has it been now?” asked Alexandra who was so tired of this that she didn't even make a joke at me at all.
“I counted 14 incidents. 5, including this one resulted in death.” replied Viv in precision.
I sighed as well. How much will my Infamy increase.....well at least the most NPCs will do in a city is give me weird looks now. I'm still surprised that I don't have a bounty on my head. Is this the power of the churches at play? Not one Kingdom would dare to try an hunt me down?
“At least I have a bit of peace in my life...”
I looked around to see that there were a large number of new players running around in large groups led by high levelled players that were either Knights or Priests helping the new players level up and gain new skills.
“Oh~ I believe they're helping them for both the benefit of honour and the benefit to grow Morata quicker. There were only one or two people doing this in my starting city” said Alexandra respectively while looking at the experienced players helping the new players.
“In the city I started in, no one helped each other at all even on the verge of death” said Viv a bit sad if his past experience.
“...”
At both looked at me as if I were to add into the conversation.
“Well....I started in Kallamore so unless you pulled your weight, you were abandoned since monsters literally invaded weekly.”
I looked once more to the players happily helping each other.
This was certainly different from all of the other cities where the weak were abandoned. Even in Kallamore where the most renown Knights were, they did not even try to help weaker players that weren't essential to the well being and protection of the kingdom.
This place seems like a paradise to new players...though I heard there weren't that many new mages here due to to a lack of mage related buildings and libraries for them to learn magic in. But I also heard that there is an abundance of hunting ground here.
Then again there were a large amount of pervert....I mean strange people here.
“Oh, another group of artists are arriving as well”
I looked to see a whole group of players that were mostly old men in rags with some tools on hand. They were chatting about but you can certainly see the poverty when you look at them...
According to Viv, there were a large number of non combat players, namely artists that came to this city because of new opportunities and the fact that the lord of this place, Count Weed was also one of them, an artist based player and thus attracted them though not many people knew where he is most of the time.
“Hey Alexandra, you know where the Count of this place is currently at?”
“I think there were some talk in a church that the Count is at the land of Vampires which is located outside the continent” she replied taking her time to recall the information.
“Hmm....I heard vampires are all beautiful creatures that lured people in to suck their blood.”
“Well, a whole line of make vampires will be waiting to suck your blood then~”
“Uck!”
Don't remind me already....
“Oh~ Shiny sword and armour~ I think those are made with high levelled ingredients and were also enchanted to have extra protection” said Alexandra gleaming at a person's set of gear like a predator about to hunt down her prey.
Bonk
“Al, don't think of causing a commotion here.”
Viv whacked Alexandra in the head stopping her from robbing the poor player of all his gear. Well, I would stop her as well....though the main reason is that I don't want to be driven out of this place because of Alexandra.
The final group that came here with us are the high levelled players that are looking for opportunities in this newest rediscovered place after this place got warmer a while back. Thankfully they may be about to respawn in Morata rather than the last town they were in if Alexandra doesn't try to rob them.
“Alexandra, remember the last time you robbed someone in board daylight?”
The was a really horrible experience there. Had to run from so many people and they targeted me more than Alexandra and Viv due to my infamy.
“Nope, not at all”
I really should teach this fool a lesson soon.
By the time I properly restrained myself from killing Alexandra, we neared the actual city and it was really....good looking. Is this the right term?
However I had to notice that there were a large number of shacks or whatever you call them stacked next to each other tightly. To think, this place only got back up to this stage after a few short months.
This place was growing at a rapid pace and thanks to the fact that many things including the fact that the lord recently upgraded the whole city recently to include many things it lacked before, many people; players or NPCs came to this place that was deemed the most beautiful city.
“You want to head to the Tower of Light later?”
“Sure, but at night so we get the full effects”
“Sure”
I overheard a conversation from a couple of players discussing what they were to do.
The Tower of Light eh...better not get near it in case I be blamed for its destruction.
Well I haven't actually seen it but it seemed like a nice place that wouldn't want to kill me on sight. Also I heard that some people give out free food and the income and experience you can gain from quests are above average.
Eventually we arrived near the gates of the city where I saw a large number of people coming in and out at once. The number of people was shocking!
“This is.....isn't this at least the level of traffic in one of the major cities in the central continent?” exclaimed Alexandra.
“It can't be that much...right?”
I really didn't know what a major city looked like since I started in a small town and only travelled a bit here and there with these two but Viv seemed to understand what Alexandra was getting about.
I also noticed immediately that the guards that were stationed at the gates were Paladins. To be more precise Freya's Paladins who are known to be the most ruthless in eliminating evil....such as me.
“Hey...is this okay?” I asked Alexandra pointing at the paladins on duty.
“Don't worry, don't worry. You're with me remember and besides they don't attack anyone without the murderer mark unless they're criminals.”
“Have you forgotten that I just killed 5 people just then?”
“Well we have to see then~” she hummed expecting a good show later of me fighting paladins....again....long story.
Alexandra tricked me and a bunch of paladins were hunting me down including her until Viv showed up and beat the shit out of all of them.
Damnit, if I'm to die then I rather force Alexandra to die with me! I prepared to strike first....at Alexandra to ensure she would not escape death.
And so we walked to the gates which will decide my fate of either dying here and passing and living a good life.
The paladins on gate duty looked a bit bored but when they saw our group they immediately stiffened up and glared at us....or rather me.
“May you have the blessing of Freya” said one of the paladin guards to Alexandra.
Thankfully the paladins calmed down considerably when they saw Alexandra though they still glared at me at time as we passed through.
As we walked by I was certain was one of them was muttering something under his breath that included several insults to me and some praise to Freya.
Looks like today isn't the day for me to die. My mood increased to almost the highest levels thanks to that though the depression that came with being a girl now.....cancelled it out and I am sitting on the fine line of being happy and sad.
We continued to walk around looking at the city. The place was filled with countless paintings and other works of art. However there was a clear sense that the Lord was very cheap since this place only has what was necessary and no luxury places. I took out the mana detector to see that the mana fragment was a fair distance away to the east.
“Well what now? We could just go to the mana fragment but I think we are more likely to die if we try.” I said to the other two.
The first to speak was Viv and he had a suggestion which was, “What about levelled up first. We are under the average level for this place even with the large number of new players here. I say level 200 is a good goal first.”
I nodded and then looked to Alexandra who suggested or rather demanded, “We should go to the church in this place. I have some things to do and they can help me. Church quests gives a lot of experience so its a two in one package.”
Please don't let us gain some ridiculous quest. Please don't let us gain some ridiculous quest. Please don't let us gain some ridiculous quest. Please don't let us gain some ridiculous quest.
With that, we headed to the church which was governed by Freya. The building looked rather cheap and it was more like a small chapel....no it was a chapel!
The 2 paladins that were guards for this place was well saluted Alexandra and let her in. However when Viv and I tried to they simply blocked us and said, “Only those who are with the Church of Freya or important figures can enter ma’am.”
Alexandra sighed and said, “You two, stay there, I'll make sure you'll get the quest as well.”
Damn we're going to get a ridiculous quest now.
And with that she disappeared in the chapel while me and Viv who were wearing light clothing were stuck in the cold outdoors. We walked to the side of the chapel where there were some seats and sat down.
“Say Viv, why did you say that reaching level 200 was a good goal?” I asked while we waiting for Alexandra.
“When you reach level 200 there are 2 things that happen to you. The first is some recognition since you have passed the first checkpoint in the game and the second is second class advancement.” he explained.
Recognition....I believe I had enough of that already....though in all the wrong ways.
“Well I doubt my class has any advancements. What about your one?”
Magic King Class.....sounds like some sort of unique class that no one heard of....or something that sounds too hard to get.
“No, my one doesn't as well since it is classified as an advance class and I think Alexandra doesn't have one since she has a unique class like you.”
So a Witch is considered an advanced class? How interesting, how did Viv get the class so early then?
BANG
I jumped a bit to the sudden noise.
“What is it now...?”
Just when I was getting used to the peace and quiet of the absence of Alexandra she appeared again.
I sighed and saw that she just kicked down the front door of the chapel with an angry expression. With her was a young priest that looked important. Well I knew that he was important since the other paladins were shocked and tried to stop Alexandra but failed resulting them being thrown off the ground.
The young priest resembling a young boy rather than an adult simply tidied himself up after he was brought to us and introduced himself in a nice calm voice with a smile.
“I am Pope-candidate Alveron. Nice to meet you.”
He bowed down to us who were keeping our jaws shut at the title itself.
Po-Po-Po-Po-Pope Candidate?! Damn it Alexandra, are you trying to make us all wanted from the church of Freya?!
I calmed myself in the techniques that I developed to make sure I did not pass out from...stress.....yeah. Eventually my breathing stabilised.
Alveron held his hand in front of me indicating that it was a handshake and I shook it introducing myself, “I am Eden.”
Viv being more shy to strangers didn't shake his hand but still introduced himself, “I am Viv.”
I looked at Alexandra who was still angry at something. It wasn't Alveron since she would've killed him....not at least injury him instead of bringing him to us like this. I wonder what she was planning.
“ALEXANDRA WHERE DID YOU TAKE ALVERON?!”
Oh....so that's how it was.
The source of the voice ran out of the chapel. It was an old man that was also in priest clothing. The moment he saw Alveron he almost sighed in relief and then he saw Alexandra.
“Alexandra what do you think you're doing?” he asked.
Alexandra simply brushed her hair aside and said, “I need some help with the task so I'm going to borrow Alveron here.”
The old priest went up to Alexandra and whacked her head with his fist.
“Are you a fool? Alveron is the pope-candidate. He is the most important person other than the pope himself! Even you do not have the authory to command him!” he shouted.
You really don't know Alexandra well enough if you think Alexandra would follow the rules especially where she had everything to gain from it.
The old priest was glaring at Alexandra like she was a troublemaking child. Well he did get the troublemaking part right.
“Now now, its fine if Alexandra wants some help in her holy task given that it has been centuries since the last person tried it.” said Alveron while calming the old priest down.
“What exactly is this task?” I asked.
The old priest explained.
“The Holy Task is was passed down from many centuries ago. It is one given to a person who is part of every church that have not been taunted by Evil. The task in question is unknown but we know where the task is going to take place thanks to the guidance of Freya. However the task cannot be taken alone and it must be done with equals. I don't need to explain that Alexandra is exceedingly strong for her level and I presume you two are powerful enough to match her in your own way but she is still no ready for the task. No matter how strong you are, you cannot be prepare for the Holy task as it test far beyond your limits.”
“So what's the reward for the task?” I asked.
Sounds difficult but has really good rewards for us if we pass. Well its easier than my current quest with the mana fragment at least.
“It is said that those who complete the task including the companions are given something extremely powerful.” said Alveron.
I thought about it a bit to considered if Alexandra was stronger than she was already.
“It would be a disaster if Alexandra got a hold of it. And besides I don't need it unless Alexandra gets it so....” I immediately said.
The old priest was shocked at my comment in a good way and said,“Perfect! That kind of thinking will make Alexandra not cause any more disasters! Here.”

“Eh....” I managed to say.
Great...no description on the quest at all.
“I got the quest as well....” said Viv.
“Anyway since you want to reach level 200 quickly, I'll give you a playground where you can level as much as you want. Also I need you to clear out that place since its filled with undead and other creatures anyway.
This doesn't sound like a playground at all.

Part 2 – Dungeon Exploration
“Damn I wanted Alveron to come with us. I would've used him well” complained Alexandra.
You can't just use a pope candidate.
“Its not like the church will give him to us out of nowhere. And besides we were given a task to clear out this new dungeon the church discovered and if Alveron dies, they'll hang us” I countered.
“Alveron is over level 300 you know. This is just a level 200 dungeon so there is no problem with him coming with us.” she retorted with anger.
That's all the reason why not to lend him out. He has that much value you know.
“He has a lot of responsibility as a Pope-candidate.” said Viv who suddenly had his cold aura on.
Its.....suddenly cold?
When Viv that aura around him, both me and Alexandra shut up and stayed silent. When we arrived to the dungeon, Viv turned back to normal thankfully. Well what we were looking at did not help our morale.
“This is a castle?” asked Alexandra in amazement.
“Well, its the ruins of one at least. Only part of the castle is left and it looks like there was a major battle here a while back.” said Viv while looking at the large number of bones and other dead creatures around the place.
“Then is this place where the expedition group fought the bone dragon?” I asked. I thought back to the video that was posted and shared so many times that even I, a person who had no relation to this game saw it. Or did I see it live when it was happening.....I don't remember.
“No....that place is deeper into the mountains and to the east from Morata. This place is to the west and the castle over there is in one piece unlike this one.” explained Viv.
The castle was in ruin. There was according to the priest a certain entrance place which we had to clear out since it was filled with undead. Where this entrance was? Well its in the ruins of the castle.
“Well, either way, we were requested to clear this place though I can't see any enemies...” said Alexandra.
Just as she said that, the bones and bodies of around us became skeletons and zombies with armour on. 30 of them appeared and practically surrounded us. They left no room to breath and attacked at once.
“.....Alexandra did you.....just jinx us?” I muttered as I drew my sword out and stabbed it in a nearby zombie.
The place where I stabbed the zombie quickly closed itself and the zombie tried to grab my ankle. Alexandra moved in and sliced its head off in one go as the other creatures came closer quickly.
“O forest, O fierce forest. Your children have travelled countless lands, countless seas and have rampaged on the four corners of this world. Light and water gives strength to your children and I ask that you strike the ones that disrupt this balance. Strike Roots!”
Roots appeared from the ground and whacked a couple of skeletons and zombies away. However these roots were not enough to repel all of the enemies at once.
“Sword Wave!”
Alexandra hit a number of enemies at once. However they reattached themselves back together after a few seconds. Then they started to charge at us again. Fortunately there were no ranged enemies so this didn't have to be more of a mess then it already was.
“Burst Strike.”
I pierced through the body of a nearby zombie but it soon stood up again. Viv was still controlling his roots and hitting the majority of them away from us. It seems without the power of the mana fragment to undo that damn extra seal on me, I'm the most useless in this group. I quickly took out a mana fragment and absorb it.

Ice Formation ? Spear Form ? Ice Spear ? Enlarge(5)
“Ice Spear!”
I raise my hand up high and produced an ice spear which grew and grew until it was the size of a tree trunk and threw it to the enemies crushing some of them.
CRACK
When the ice spear crushed some of the enemies, smoke appeared under it and and the ice spear cracked.
CRACK
The ice spear was getting more and more cracks.
BREAK
At last the ice spear broke into pieces and what emerged there was the undead that was crushed fully intact and fine.
“Damn what the hell is with this place?” I cried.
I heard the fire is effective against undead as well.
Fire Formation ? Ball Form ? Fireball
“Fireball!”
I aimed and threw the fireball to the nearest zombie.
BANG
The zombie was lit on fire but that smoke came out of it was well and the zombie completely recovered and the fire was nowhere to be seen. I stared in disbelief that such a thing was possible in this game.
“Eden! We need some help here!” shouted Alexandra who was pinning down several zombies at once with her sword. Viv was running out of mana now and the number of roots that were there decreased which meant that more and more enemies were coming at us.
“Dance of Water”
Dance of Water is now active
I ran up to the zombies and skeletons that were nearing Viv who was exhausted from using his spell so much and started hacking at them. The flesh that I cut recovered almost immediately and the bones I broke reassembled like magic. I was facing 10 enemies at once right now and it wasn't looking good.
Just when I thought things would go bad and I would die.
“SWORD WAVE!”
The enemies next to me that were hitting me disappeared without a trace....well not until they reappear again thanks to Alexandra's attack.
“Get to the castle!” ordered Alexandra before she and Viv ran away without me.
“Wait don't leave me-”
Whack!
You have taken 1643 damage
Damn what the hell is this extreme damage. Wasn't this place suppose to be around level 200? My Dance of Water isn't keeping up with these enemies at all.
After dodging a couple more times my skill levelled up.
Dance of Water Levelled up to Beginner Level 6
Suddenly my movements became a bit more fluid and less and less attacks managed to hit me despite being surrounded on all sides. I continued to attack and attack but this was just going to make me exhausted in the end. My stamina was almost gone and I didn't have enough time to cast magic at all.
Crack
The ground cracked?
Crumble
Shit....
The ground broke underneath me and I fell through this hole that I couldn't see the bottom of.
“Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn!”
Part 3 – Why Does this Game Troll me?
First Seal has activated. You have 2 hours and 37 minutes left
You are in a Dungeon
Quest has been updated
When I woke up I was in this dark horror film like place that strangely looked like it directly came out of a Japanese horror film. I stood up and looked around to find that it was too dark to see even a metre in front of me.
“llyfr you there?”
[Yeah...I'm trying to regulate the power of the mana fragment so no more side effects will appear.....you're on your own.....]
“Damn” I said thinking about how difficult it will be to navigate this place without llyfr telling me where the enemies are. I hope this place does not have trap....it will suck if this place has traps. Anyway I should get some light, but first...
“Body Transformation!”
Body Transformation: Eyes of the Condemned is now active
You will gain the following Bluffs while this is active:
- Seeing Distance will increase by 15%
- Able to see more clearly at night
- Blindness effect will be less effective
- To a certain extent, you will be able to see the souls of others
- Eyes will Glow in the Dark
WARNING: Normal NPCs will believe you are a Demon when they see your eyes
My eyes shone in the dark as always when this was active. I found that place was dark enough that even with these eyes, the place overall was still really hard to walk around.
Light Formation ? Light Balls
“Light Balls....”
I remembered the first spell I learnt and used it. It as quite useless in all the other situations I was in so I haven't thought about it much but now is where it shines. The single light ball appeared over my hand and floated around. The place I was in illuminated quite well thanks to it. It was a corridor and I had two ways to go and I feel that both ways will end with me suffering like hell. But first I needed to see what updated in the quest.
Clear Castle from Undead
The Senior Priest of Freya has requested you to clear the Castle west of Morata. This castle made long ago has long been the home of the foul undead and other unspeakable creatures. You have found a hidden dungeon that seems to be the source of the seemingly endless amount of undead. Clear this place and eliminate the source to complete the quest.

“You got to be joking with me.”
I had to clear this dark creepy and horror film like place?! And it was a B ranked quest now! Damnit, we got really screwed this time. I will make sure that old priest suffers for this.
Damn it would be easier to just bombard the place until nothing remains but I don't have enough power for that. And those two.....just abandoned me just like that. Do they think I can handle 40 undead creatures that constantly regenerate with no end?
I sighed and thought about my options. One is that I do this quest and somehow finish it but it was more likely that I would run into something horrible before that could happen. The second is to get the hell out of here but the place I fell down from is blocked off now for some reason. The final option was to kill myself but I can't see myself doing that.
“So I have no choice but to finish this quest alone?”
There's no doubt the Alexandra and Viv wouldn't just abandon me like that.....well they need to finish this quest as well so.....
“Well no use thinking about it now.”
I decided to just search around first to see what was here.
Press~
A pressure plate......?
Shit
“Dance of Water!”
Dance of Water is Active
BANG BANG BANG BANG
I narrowly dodged those arrows that were shot at me from the holes in the floor with the use of the Dance of Water Skill. This skill was definitely was very helpful....probably one of the most helpful things I got.
Several minutes later.....
There seems to be a open passage way over there. I wonder what's on the other side since I haven't seen even one monster yet. I walked forward and through the passageway that was dimly lit. I long stopped using the light ball since it would cover some traps and that was bad.
Clang Clang Clang Clang
The sound of metal moving could be heard. I immediately realised that the sound was coming behind me. There was a heavy metal gate behind where I was just a moment ago. It looks like I can't turn back now.....
“Growl.....”
Growl?
I looked back in front of me to see the outline of a giant four legged creature that was oddly shaped. It indeed was a four legged creature but there was a lump on its back that looked like a head but its head was at the front....and there were two tails that seemed to make sound once and a while. This was......
The room lit up to reveal a giant open area where I can't run nor hide and right in front of me was a Chimera that was waking up to eat its food....me. The Chimera had two snakes as its tails, the thing on its back was a goat and it had the head of a lion. The front of its legs looked different from the back legs and fire was coming out of it now....was it horse legs? Finally its eyes glowed red.
How did I know? Because it was wide awake and looking at me.
“ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR”
Fighting Spirit reduced by 20%
Strength reduced by 15%
Agility reduced by 20%
More chance of being in a state of Fear
The Roar de-buffed me and it was standing up now, ready to attack at any moment. I think this was a boss monster....yeah I think its a boss monster.
But I was in the middle of this dungeon so....there may be more?
Damn I can't think about that right now....what are the characteristics of this thing....what are the weaknesses....how do I not die?
There was nowhere to run since this place was closed off. I was facing a giant Chimera that was easily 20 times the size of a normal human and the only way I can think of to survive.....or really do anything at this point is to kill this thing.
“Fuck. I drew the short straw again.” I muttered in hopelessness.

Author's Notes:
- 5600~ words in this one
- Next chapter is the very long one with 31 pages and 10000 words. Or I can just split it into two.....nah
- Typical Alexandra, kidnapping someone that important.
- Also it was a bit of a pain to change Viv's part so he had to chant something before using a spell every single time.
