Part 1 – Investigation Start!

The tower in front of me was over 100 metres long. I guess that's how people started noticing this damn thing even though there are mountains around this place. Anyhow the door looked normal....I seriously have no idea what to expect at this rate. I won't get killed if I open the door right?......Damnit I'm really scared now. Using both hands I pushed the door open and walked in.

When my foot touched the inside of the tower a force was pulling me to the wall.

“Wow”

I hit the wall face first.

You have lost 10 health

Really?! From a small fall like that. I got up off the wall.....wait from the wall? I looked up and saw the outside world which I fell from.

“I be damned. Walking on walls. No. Gravity is sideways in this place.”

It seems that this place was magical like most weird towers. I started jumping testing out the gravity in this place.

“It seems sturdy at least. I hope there isn't some hole I could fall into.”

I might as well start exploring this place. Rag did say to investigate. I doubt I can complete the job while I'm outside this thing. Hmm.....I'm on carpet right now. Or was it a rug I'm standing on. Well the outside looked like stone so I'll presume that its covering the wall no floor of this place. I looked to my left and found there were a couple of tables and bookshelves around the place. There were a couple of windows to my right was well. I hesitate to open one up just in case I might be sucked out.

“This looks like some sort of mage tower...”

I drew my conclusion from years of reading fantasy books. I don't want to go into details but a typical mage tower has a lot of books and magical items around. From what I can see this tower fits the bill with the couple of weird coloured plants and other items lying around. Well I never heard of a mage tower with side-ways gravity before.

I might as well keep on going forward.....for better or worse.

Part 2 – Fixing Stuff

Well I can't watch the young lady all day long and there's the problem of the instability of space/time as well.......even though I drew a line between the tower to separate us that damn Crysero still causes trouble. I better check the area to see if there's any problems.

“Crysero you better help out as well.”

Crysero was still with me. He helped out stabilising the tower even though it was his fault in the first place.

“Umm.....”

Crysero is acting weird. He normally says whatever on his mind. Did something go wrong again?

“Split it out. We have to see if wormholes are going to suck the area clean or not.”

“Well speaking or wormholes, we're and the tower are getting sucked in right now. It seems like we are going home now.”

What did he say? Already?!

“Try to stop the process. There's a young lady stuck in the tower with us and furthermore that time essence split up and shattered over this place! We can't leave now!”

“Right-o~.”

Both of us casted several spells to keep the tower from going back through the wormhole but we have to keep it open as well to get back....this is troublesome. After a couple of minutes of adjusting the space/time around us I looked back in my crystal ball to see that the young lady was near the split from my half of the tower to Crysero's side. Damnit I was hoping she would come here first. There's a couple of doors you could enter you know even though there may be unspeakable things in them.

I have to save her before the monsters on Crysero's half....

“Crysero take over for a bit!”

“Wait what? Letting little me take care of this big job for you?”

I ran further and further away from Crysero and got closer to the young girl but not before shouting.

“This is your fault in the first place!”

Please let me make it in time.

Part 3 – Weird Monsters

Its been a bit over 2 minutes since I started to 'climb' this tower.  I passed  couple of doors. I opened the first couple of them and found it they were used as a storage device so I decided to ignore them since there were a lot of doors to go through. But now I'm more curious about this weird yellow line.......

“I wonder if I should cross it....”

It seemed like the line separated the tower into two. The first half was uneventful but that was still fine. I really have a bad feeling across this line. Well I only live life once or in this case, a tone of times. I stepped over the yellow line and......nothing happened.

“Ah good. Looks like there's nothing strange about thi-”

Swwwwwwuuuuuussssssshhhhhhhh

Something almost hit me. The attack.....stopped before it hit the ground behind me? Don't tell me this line serves as a barrier. As I turned my head around to see behind me I saw a weird monkey like creature with a bandanna covering its mouth and a sock on its hands. It was coloured cyan (Think of mix of blue and grey). But that wasn't the creature that almost killed me. I looked in front of me and saw a even weirder creature that had a button as a eye?, two elephant feet and arms like a octopus without the suckers. It was a bit more purple than the monkey behind me.....wait what was next to the thing in front of me? It looked like someone inflated a frog's body and stuck a distorted bear's head on it. It also had yellow claws on its hands and feet and had two blunt teeth one the top of its mouth and a sharp tooth on the top and bottom as well.

“Well I'm fucked.”

I sort of gave of on life. Then I felt an impact behind my head.

You have lost 20 health.

Shit did the monkey kick me in the head? Damnit I only have 80 health left. I have to run away across the yellow line.....I saw there were a couple more monkeys over there separating me from the line. Nope. Running the other way now.

I sprinted towards the two other creatures I saw. I think I'm going to name them. The green one will be called Bugbear since its like a bug to me and the other one.....Laundry Golem. The monkey would be Dirty Sockmonkey then. Yes I used those names (Their official names in fact for those who played Dragonfable). But now is not the time to think like that.

The Laundry Golem shot out the same attack towards me again. I dodged it jumping to the side. Hey I'm doing well for a guy who doesn't have an ounce of physical training. Then I saw the bugbear charging towards me. Shit its fast! I'm sorry for calling you a bugbear. It's mouth widened mid way during the charge. Is it going to bite me?

I rolled out of the way quickly as my life depended on it.

Bang

The wall which I was next to was ripped off.......shit! If one of these attacks hit me I'm dead. And not ouch he bit me dead. No its Help I'm getting ripped apart here dead. I quickly got up and started running again but where was that laundry golem?

I saw a white ghost thing going straight towards me and through me.....Ow ow ow ow.

You have lost 65 health. Warning health below 10% Bleeding has started.

Shit what was that? The laundry golem appeared again but how the hell did it turn into a ghost? Oh great the bleeding to death part started. My consciousness is fading away.....  

“Are you all right? Damn! Disappear stupid monsters!”

A blue figure appeared calling out to me. I could really make the face out nor anything else at this point but I definitely saw the range of magic used to destroy the things in front of him. The blue figure ran up to me and pointed his staff at my body.

“Heal”

My health...it seems to increase to maximum for some reason. Hey I can think properly again. I looked at the blue figure again and saw that it was a young looking person with a wooden staff with a gem on top in one hand and a crystal ball in the other hand. His robe was simple but it was blue which made him look like the typical mage character I imagined except that he wasn't old.

“It seems your okay young lady.”

Wait young lady? Again I hate my choices in his new life I have! Trying to correct the mistake the blue mage made I said.

“I'm a guy.”

The blue mage was taken a bit back but accepted it quickly.

“I see.....now I have a apologise for the things attacking you. Even though it wasn't my fault but that damn madman's fault.”

Umm....how is this not your fault? Its you tower right but there's a madman living here as well?

“It seems you have a lot of questions for me. First let's go to my living quarters before discussing everything.”

I followed the blue mage to his living quarters. There I saw a number of more books probably related to magic. Well its not like I know for sure. It could be books on how to cook or something.

The blue mage sat down on a chair and prompted me to do the same. After I did he started talking.

“First of all I we should introduce each other. I am known as Warlic, the blue mage.”

So his title follows on with his preferred colour. I see...that's why he's wearing a blue robe.

“I'm Eden”

“Ah Eden. Right. Now I have to ask where exactly are we?”

“Umm.....in your tower?”

Warlic smiled before saying, “No I mean where are we in this world? What is it called?”

Eh what was this world called? Isn't it Royal Road? How does someone playing this game not know that we're in the Versailles Continent?

“Umm....we're in Royal Road. In the Versailles Continent.....”

I nervously said those words. Does this person have amnesia or something?

Warlic pondered for a bit looking here and there and said, “Oh I see.....I see the situation now.”

See what situation? You mean the situation that I was forced to investigate this damn tower and almost get killed? Or is it another situation your talking about?!

“It seems I've crossed worlds into this one with this tower.”

What the....did this game have such a feature. I don't remember advertising about how mysterious beings come to this world via a tower.

“It seems you're confused.”

Yes I am confused. What the hell is happening in this situation.

“I terms that your brain can comprehend. Time/space ripped apart and sent this tower to this world. Normally we would be sent back in a bit which we almost did, me and my roommate forced this tower to exist in this world for a bit longer.”

“So why don't you go back?” I asked trying to get some answers.

“Oh a couple of fragments of time essence.....no its better to call it highly dense mana fragments broke off and scattered throughout this world. Problem is that any creature that eat these fragments would become extremely powerful.”

“So that's why you didn't go back?”

“Yes. Even though this situation isn't my fault in the first place.”

Is it me or is Warlic pushing the blame to the other guy.....wait! Did he simplify his explanation because he thinks I'm stupid?!  

In my nicest voice to conceal my anger I asked, “Can you explain the full details of crossing worlds?”

Warlic looked surprised then concerned at me.

“Its not recommended for me to go into full details.”

Oh...so he does think I'm stupid.

“No need to hold back for me~” I said cheerfully.

“Well then...let me start.”

Warlic took a step back and breathed in and out once.

“##########################################################”

Arh?! My brain! Its ripping apart?! It hurts?!

“Let me stop there....take some time to recover....”

What the hell was that? My head is still fuzzy.....

After taking some time on Warlic's recommendation and after recovering enough to speak I asked Warlic about what happened.

“Hey Warlic, what exactly happened when you...explained....the stuff....” I managed to say even though I was still trying to catch my breath.

“Its simple. The knowledge of the information was too much for your brain to process. Thus the pain when you heard it.”

“How come your not effected?” It was very strange, this person was human as far as I can tell.

“Because my brain can process the information. I don't look like it but I have more knowledge than any human at least in my world and have encountered many things as well. Those who survive the information flux will be driven insane by it. If I continued you would either die or become insane. Though I'm living with such a person who survived this on many occasions information flux.”

Eh? So I would either die or be driven insane. Both options are pretty bad. Wait he's living with a person who survived this several times?

“How are you living with a person who survived this? Didn't you say everyone who has this knowledge die or are driven insane?”

Warlic sighed to my question. He took the time to touch his staff and crystal ball again before answering.

“Well my roommate is insane....he's a madman. It doesn't surprise me that he's living fine with it. Hell the other things he does easily outclass the knowledge in his brain.”

Hmm....how interesting. A person who is insane already can live with such knowledge such as crossing worlds.

“By the way. Who is this roommate you have.”

“Ah his name is Crysero.”

“You called~”

A messy looking man appeared in front of us. He was defined by the colour green instead of Warlic's blue. Instead of a long robe he was wearing a green shirt and pants. His messy green (or was it brown) hair covered his eyes and his childish grin hid any malice from him if he had any.

Warlic sighed for the second time in front of me.

“Crysero weren't you stabilising the area?”

Stabilising what? The area? Why?

Crysero pointed his finger up and said, “Done~”

Ah good this Crysero finished his job.

“Did you do something unnecessary again?”

Unnecessary? Umm...now I'm getting nervous.

“Nope~”

I have a feeling this person is lying.

“What did you do besides stabilising the area?”

Yeah that's my question!

“Used the stabilising tool to cook a fish to eat~”

A fish?! WHY?

“Then the area isn't stabilised.”

WAIT! THAT'S WHAT YOUR CONCERN ABOUT! HE WAS COOKING A FISH WITH IT!

“Yeah~”

AND WHY ARE YOU CASUALLY TALKING HERE?!

“Oh its the young man you were about to use to gather the mana fragments we lost~”

Eh? He KNOWS I'm a man from my appearance. And wait what? I'm going to be used to gather these mana fragments?! Man I can't take a break here.

“Wait wait wait. What does Crysero here mean by that?! And how do you know I'm a guy?!” I shouted still very shocked at the situation as a whole.

Warlic sighed for the third time. Man he's sighing a lot for a guy who lived longer than anyone else.

“Don't worry about it. And yes how do you know this person who looks exactly like a girl is a guy?”

DON'T WORRY?! YOU were about to send me out to do something dangerous!

Crysero gave an every bigger grin and said, “So this one is really weak~”

WEAK? THAT'S the reason why Warlic decided not to use me as a slave?

Warlic retorted with, “Yes. Now answer the question.”

“So it does involve me being weak......” I mouth moved before I could stop them.

“Don't worry we can still force you to do it~”

I DON'T WANT TO DO IT.

“No we WON'T. Also Eden, don't worry about being weak. Everyone starts somewhere. Its natural for someone so young to be weaker than we expect.”

That sentence hurt more than expected.....

“So how do you know Eden is a guy?” asked Warlic.

Crysero made a grin again and pointed his index finger to the sky and said, “Magic!~”
