Part 1 – The start of a new Journey
“Good, good you all came back alive and well” said the old priest happily.
“...”
There was an awkward silent in the air. To be more precise, we all died after the trial finished but thaaaaat's all fine since we didn't lose anything valuable. Except for trust.....
He was in a fine mood since it has been hundreds of years since the last person or well...group to pass the Holy Trial that was eventually deemed impossible. However Alexandra and Viv weren't amused at all.
“Explain.” said Viv with an extremely cold aura. It was just one word but it was filled with fighting spirit.
“That's what I want to know” I said looking at the two.
I glared at them seeing that they were definitely trying to change the unspoken subject between the three of us.
They both turned away probably in shame or guilt or something by betraying me to a giant flaming bird!
“Eden, we can talk later.....now explain everything you old goose!” said Alexandra trying to comfort me as well as threaten the old priest.
The old priest was surprised by the sudden large amount of malice directed to him. However he still managed to keep his calm. He smiled and asked, “Explain what exactly?”
This time it was Alexandra's turn after Viv to direct her fighting spirit to him. Like Viv she only had to say one word. “Everything.”
A cold breeze mysteriously came into the church at that same moment.
Oh boy is it cold.....though it was extremely hot a while back for me.
The old priest sighed and managed to eye me knowing that I kinda spilled the beans. Well I didn't say it to them directly but what I did in the Holy Trial did tip them off that I knew more than I should.
“What part do you want to know?” the priest finally gave in to pressure. His forehead had more wrinkles then usual thanks to this and it seemed that his hairline went back even more.
“First of all, what's with Eden knowing everything about the trial?” demanded Alexandra. She gripped her sword threatening even a high ranked priest in the order of Freya. Even she cannot undo what she was going to do. In my heart I was split on seeing Alexandra suffer because of this and trying to prevent it since she will somehow blame it on me.
And judging by our relationship values towards the church of Freya, she was the more believable one....though personality tells that both of us are to no be trusted.
“First of all, Eden didn't” The old priest tried to calm Alexandra down with that first, “Everything I told him in advance I told you two as well. You know all that stuff I said before I left and what the writing on the wall was? That was pretty much all Eden knew. And we did have some conversations on what could happen such as the possibility of you three facing a more powerful foe than expected.”
He of course omitted our deep discussion on what to do if things went wrong.
There was one plan where I was to intentionally do a suicide run so Alexandra can succeed in the Holy Trial.
“So you told Eden that it was his shadow we had to face?” asked Alexandra in a very slow but powerful tone.
Alexandra's anger was still there. The old priest's following words did not help at all.
“I was right wasn't I? There was a low chance but it was still there. We must always take everything into consideration.”
I nodded to the old priest. He was right though I did not expect to be betrayed by these two at that point in time nor did I expect a giant flaming bird to attack me as well.
“Good, I mean bad! It must have been hard on you guys. Anyway what kind of creature did you guys face to take it on me?”
There as a moment of silent as Alexandra and Viv did not really want to review what happened. As a result, I was the one who answered.
“Dragon.”
That was the only word I said but it held weight behind it since Dragons....well I don't think anyone had to suffer defeating a Dragon before.
“Oh.”
The old priest was a bit surprised but wasn't shocked at all. Was it due to what happened when he and the other priests in town tried to seal me to save my life? I do remember something about the priests of Freya trying to use a Dragon seal but it didn't work. Now that I faced a Dragon....this is confusing.
“So why exactly did we face a Dragon? I mean it came from me but I was expecting.....something else.”
“Something else?” The old priest raised his eyebrow.
“Anything else since you know....I'm not exactly a pure race. I'm a mixed a several of them at once maximising the strengths and eliminating the weaknesses. Its a long story but....”
The old priest cut me off.
“Wait wait! Explain everything to me first!”
Several moments later....
“So basically you completed the Trial just fine with Eden committing suicide with the help of Alexandra. Alexandra then casted the oh so difficult spell Revive and you three got your reward which also leads to a new quest which you will all most likely take months to complete due to its nature.”
“Pretty much.”
“So what is it you want to know?” he asked again.
“Did you know of these quests?” asked an annoyed Alexandra.
“Yes and no. Yes I know that there may be some sort of after quest for you to do but the records are centuries old and in this case the original source was burnt and there was only a small reference of it left. No because every single of those quests are said to be different except for your one Alexandra which is the most similar quest we have records of. Though I never heard of a skill like the one you gained before....”
Alexandra frown seeing that the old priest kept all of this away from her.
“In that case, do you know of the Temple of the Dragons, Temple of Light and Temple of the Witches?” I asked.
The old priest thought about it for a bit and shook his head. He explained why.
“It has been too long and war has....erase a number of records and those who remember are already long dead. Doesn't the quest give you details on where you should go? I believe you go to the section of the continent and search and search until you find it. Because of this I suggest you three to separate temporary in order to finish these quests first before anything else.”
“...”
“What? Its not like that's a problem right?”
“I think we need to level up some more before heading out” I said while thinking of my level compared to the other two. There is a 20 level difference between us now and if I don't start to level up then I'll be much weaker than them sooner or later.
Plus right now there are players breaking through to the level 400 stage which means they would be twice of my level and I would be screwed if I had to face them.
The old priest smiled and said, “In that case, I know of the perfect place for you three.”
I suddenly had a bad feeling about this.
Part 2 – Boredom Rises
1 Month Later.....
“Can we just stop now?” I plead to the other two who actually seem to have fun in this kind of situation.
“Why should we? Aren't we having fun?” teased Alexandra making faces at me like she was completely confused on what I was feeling.
Fun? We are completely surrounded for every second and waves and waves of enemies come out to attack us. If it was undead then it would be understandable for the church of Freya to send us here but really?
It just happened to be trolls. Ice Trolls. And we have to harvest their blood for potions for the church as well. Why we have to do this? Payment fee for the church giving us the location for this infinite supply of Trolls. Even the count of Morata does not know of this place, let alone any other common person.
The only reason that this is extremely boring is that we have been dungeon raiding for a month now! The trolls are strong enough to face us head on but the other two leave me most the of work saying that I need the experience the most.
“Anyway I think we should consider what the old priest asked of us” I said to the others with the intention of getting out of this hell hole.
Both of them looked at each other and smiled saying, “No” at my face.
Damn these two....are they trying to make me die from boredom? Or are they saying that to annoy the crap out of me?
Either way I can't leave this place without Alexandra since....well I'm kinda a monster that Gods hate and its because of Alexandra that I can even stay in towns now. Damn another Troll appeared.
“Burst Strike.”
I moved a bit sluggishly and cut through the thick fat...or muscle of the troll in front of me.
“Hmm?”
My sword was stuck?
“Goar!”
Another 3 Trolls appeared to attack me.
“Damn it! Back me up!”
This time it seems Alexandra understands the feeling of being beaten half to death by a troll since last time I let her be intentionally to be beaten half to death.
“SWORD WAVE”
I immediately noticed that it was headed strangely towards me out of all things....
Why was that attack aimed at meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
BANG
You took 7497 Damage
The blast somehow managed to push...no kill the troll that was on me and the surrounding ones as well in one go. Yet it only dealt 7497 damage to me. Was my resistance to such attacks increasing?
If so, I don't want it to since it may increase the number of times Alexandra attacks me by 'accident'.
“Alexandraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! What the hell was that for?!”
Alexandra looked at me innocently and said, “But your sword was stuck so I thought to help you a bit.”
“BY ATTACKING ME?!”
“Yep”
“TAKE THIS!”
I swung to attack Alexandra but some tree roots appeared to stop me.
“Calm down Eden, stress is clouding your mind.” said Viv who acted as the mediator in these kinds of situations now.
Ever since a while ago when Alexandra attacked me during the Holy Trial...no before that, out relationship turned into a close 'I will attack you when I have the chance' one for some reason.
“Of course its clouding my mind! How can I relax when my comrade attacks me from time to time!” I retorted with a passion.
“I only attacked you only once today.” taunted Alexandra.
“You're planning to attack me again?!”
I backed away a couple of steps from Alexandra. This person was dangerous. I don't understand why they would chose such a person as their representative. The churches of this land must be getting desperate or just that insane.
“Hey hey hey, getting angry will ruin your good looks as a woman.” said Alexandra brightening up as I feared her more and more.
“Whose a woman?!” I retorted again this time a bit calmer.
“You are,” said Viv, “Funny thing is that I am the only man here.”
“Ack!”
Damn that was a super-effective move on me.
“Don't you dare-” I started to say.
“I sorry, did you say something? You ARE a woman right now regardless of what you say, you DO have a body of a woman right now.” retorted Viv.
Tch...he was right. Things would be great if it was just that but.....since I am still under aged, the game restricts all the.....cough......cough......parts of having a female body. That alone is enough to make me want to change back besides the fact that Alexandra's jokes that I look feminine are now actually true.
“Let's not go there. Anyway I'm level 223 now, what about you guys?” I asked.
““Level 232””
So I'm 9 levels below them now. Well it is expected since I am doing most of the killing in order to get my level up as fast as possible.
If only there was a way to get more experience more quickly.
“Does this place have a boss monster we can kill? I mean this place is filled with hundreds and hundreds of Trolls.” I asked again.
“Well usually there is a Boss Monster at the end of the dungeon and since we're the only ones here there may as well be one that is a level above normal Bosses.” answered Viv.
If there was a Boss Monster in this place it would be a......King Troll? King of Trolls? Not really sure on this part. Well we just have to head in the heart of this dungeon to find out.
[p=center]xXx[/p]
“What's with this suspicious door that seems to scream out 'Boss Monster is behind this door'?”
At the end of this dungeon which took a couple more days to reach due to the fact that the number of trolls attacking us increased, there was a large door made of stone.....most likely very heavy stone in order to trap whatever was in this place sealed. There were some sort of engraving on the door which Viv read out loud.
“Turn back if you want to live. Turn back if you wish not to fail. Turn back for the one behind this though not mighty is beyond you. If not, beware the shadows.”
Initially I was kinda confused on what this meant but overall it just said that this boss monster was sealed here and it was powerful. Well at least this won't be too boring.
“I do hope that his thing is stronger than the trolls we faced back there.” said Viv anticipating a good fight which also means I'll have a harder time.
“Well it IS a Boss monster, pus it was sealed which alone implies that its powerful enough. Though the fact that whatever is in there is sealed may be the reason why there are so many trolls in this dungeon.” I replied thinking of all the time where I had to face creatures that were seriously strong even compared to me right now.
“Well it doesn't matter now since we wiped most of them out. I think there are a couple of the left hiding but its too much of a pain to find and kill them. Let them populate again for others to hunt here.” added Alexandra in her opinion.
All agreeing that we should take the boss monster on, we opened the stone door, or at least tried to.
“Eh? Is it stuck?”
No matter how we pushed, the door would not move at all. However it made sense since if it could be moved through brute strength then the troll would've done so already. Trolls had two key characteristics. The first was their regeneration powers which they are known for but their pure strength was not something to laugh about. The fact that trolls were considered powerful monsters were proof enough that they had a certain amount of strength above the norm.
“Is there a hidden switch or something?” I asked looking around. There were no levers, buttons or anything to put stuff in. However usually there was some method of opening such doors.
“This symbol...is from the church of Freya?” said Alexandra looking at one of the carvings on the door.
Indeed a symbol of the church of Freya, the church lives by the principle of Beauty and Abundance. The symbol that was engraved into all of my gear right now. Perhaps.....
I took off my cloak and pressed the Freya symbol onto the stone door.
Rumble Rumble Rumble
The stone door reacted and opened from the bottom to top. A large amount of dust came out of the sealed room almost immediately with a gust of air. We moved in to look around and found that the place was bigger than we originally thought. It wasn't just a room but another whole section of the dungeon.
“Is that....”
Alexandra ran to one of the corpses that were shattered around the whole place. From how it looked, a great battle seemed to have occurred here.
“This is the symbol of Freya” said Alexandra examining the almost ruined clothes of some of the bodies we found. After examining some more, all of them had the symbol of Freya on them.
“So the reason why the old priest knows about this place is because the church of Freya was the ones responsible for the making of this place.”
“There is sill a faint trace of Holy Magic in these walls. How long ago did this battle take place?”
“I don't know but there seems to be nothing so far....but the boss monster or monsters may be here somewhere. We have to be cautious else I may have to be forced to take a hit again.” I said looking at the large scratch marks that were on the walls.
““That's fine””
Oi! That's not fine for God's sake! Even though I have the most health and frankly defence of all of us, it doesn't mean I like taking hits for you guys!
“Tch....anyway let's find this boss and kill it before you guys decide its better to keep it as a pet.”
Part 3 – Beyond the Grave
“Nothing but bodies and items from....hundred of years ago I presume.”
So far we found that there was literally nothing here. Well almost nothing. There was a great amount of loot everywhere which was from the bodies of those who fought here before dying from battle or starvation or perhaps the lack of air or something.
“Well at least we got some good loot from this” said Alexandra taking the cloth and other items from the bodies and from the floor. To be honest this was the kind of thing is wouldn't want to do if you were to respect the dead, especially if they were fallen comrades even if they died hundreds of years ago.
Also it was a strange sight to see someone that is similar to a paladin and what not to be the one looting not the witch who cares not for the church and destroyer who is the enemy of Gods and therefore also the enemy of the churches of this land.
Other than the fact that Alexandra was defying the corpses by looting every scrap of them, we managed to map half of this new section on our map.
The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.
Yes we do have a map, we're not just walking around randomly all this time.
“Hmm? What's this”
Alexandra whom was still looting after a week in this place called us to her to show us one of the corpses she found.
“Why are you showing us this?” I asked.
“Look! Look!”
Alexandra pointed at the corpse several time in front of us.
“This is bad Viv. Alexandra finally broke down.” I said in all seriousness.
I naturally saw the attack aimed at me and dodged it.
WHACK
Alexandra managed to crack the ancient stone ground with that hit. It seems that she was seriously trying to kill me then. What on Earth did I do to deserve to be attacked like this?
“This isn't an uniform for the church of Freya or any kind of church related place.” explained Alexandra.
After shuffling through the body for a bit, she found....a dagger. It was an almost perfectly black dagger which had a one sided blade design. I could see in the hilt there was a slot for some sort of gem. No there was three slots and only one of them had a yellow gem in it. The other two slots were empty which by my years of gaming told me that we had to find them.
Ding
The Key of Magaris
Found in an unknown dungeon sealed off, the Key was found to be incomplete. Two of the three Gems that give the Key power is missing. The Gems are coloured Red, Yellow and Blue and are known to be the Gems if Fire, Lightning and Ice. Travel to the Guild of Shadow to complete this quest
Requirement: High Infamy
Quest Rank: C
Reward: Unknown
Well here comes the quest.
“Fine.”
You have accepted the Quest
Now I have all three quest slots filled in which means I can't get any new quest....plus the three quests I have seem to have no way to get out.
“You guys got the quest?” I asked.
They looked at me confused and I reread the quest again on the requirement part.....
“Requires...High Infamy......” I muttered. So this kind of thing was perfect for me......great.
“Eden here. Its yours.” said Viv handing over the dagger....key thing.
Dagger/Key of Magaris Durability: Infinite Damage: Unknown
Not much is known about this item
“Viv...did you identify it?” I asked.
“Yes.”
“Then why...”
“No idea. Perhaps its restricted the information until you complete the quest you got.”
I sighed. Why do I always seem to get the most random and yet difficult quests? I mean I do complete them....but they always seem to lead me to something that can kill me easily. Anyway might as well continue on.
[p=center]xXx[/p]
Hours later....
What we saw was a thick pile of muscle. Easily twice the size of the biggest Trolls we encountered. It, unlike its comrades was coloured dark brown due to living under the harsh sun most of it's life. And it was getting ready to fight us.
Name: King of Trolls
Level: 400+
Type: Boss Monster that will wreck your day
Strengths and Weaknesses: Large Body means easy to hit but has high attack area. Faster than you think with its body as well. Can use both its hands to cause a shockwave on the ground which stuns everything around it.
Frankly this thing can be only described as a beast....except that its opponent are monsters.
Wait....what's with this voice in my head? It isn't llyfr, who are you?
Well....you can consider me the narrator breaking into the fourth wall. I'm here because I'm bored and llyfr is still kinda busy so there's no one to make remarks and advice for you. Well then, good luck!
“Gooooooooooooooar!!!!”
The King Troll smashed the upper half the place and charged straight at us in a fashion that was similar to a gorilla moving forward. Crap this is bad!
I ran to the side to dodge the attack but the sheer force and vibration almost caused me to stack over.
Holy Shit, how heavy must that thing have to be to cause that much damage to the ground. I didn't even have time to attack it.
“O forest, O fierce forest. Your leaves have flown countless lands, countless seas and have lay on the four corners of this world. Light and water gives strength to your children and I ask that you Bind the ones that disrupt this balance. Binding Roots!”
Viv started his attack by growing a couple roots to try and restrain the King Troll but it easily breaks them like it was string.
“Holy Bolt!”
Alexandra stuck her Holy Bolt on the face of the King Troll which wasn't a very good idea....since it turned around now.
“SWORD WAVE!”
And it was blown back by the sheer force of Alexandra's attack.
“...”
When the King Troll was on the ground face up due to the blast, Alexandra started chanting a spell, which was weird since....well this wasn't like her. Light gathered around Alexandra as she chanted the spell which....does something. Never seen Alexandra use a proper spell before.
“...the stars fall one by one, the lights of heaven gather and disperse. Starlight Beam!”
A beam of light was shot out in front of Alexandra and erased the King Troll in one go.
You have levelled up

p
Thanks to this seemingly massive amount of level up, I'm at level 233 now. Managed to level up more on this thing than the trolls on the other side of this dungeon.
“...”
I stared at the corpse of the King Troll which was kinda....easy to kill....then I noticed the skill Alexandra used.
Wait, a BEAM?! Holy Shit, I am so going to get killed by her one day!
“Alexandra.....just to be sure, you will not use that on me right?” I looked at her cautiously since it wasn't just Viv whom was getting stronger and stronger rapidly.
“Huh? Why would I waste it on you? It takes ages to use it again. I have to stay out in the night if I want to recharge it plus it takes the trill out of battles” she said like it was unbelievable that she would ever attack me using it.
“...”
I was utterly speechless at those words.
“Anyway, let's see the loot it dropped.” said Viv examining the.....well there wasn't a corpse in sight so I presume the laser....light beam got rid of any loot it may have dropped.
Hey look! I'm back! Look over there, there seems to be some sort of shiny thing. Over and out~
The voice again....I swear this is some sort of plot to somehow move the story forward faster or something like that.
Anyway I looked near the place the King Troll got killed and found something shiny there. I picked it up and found that it was a blue gem that looked very similar to the yellow one in the Key, dagger thing. I slotted it on and a message appeared.
You have found the Gem of Ice.
So...this troll thing was holding on to this. In other words, if Alexandra didn't kill it then this Gem would've been lost wouldn't it. Or the quest will somehow tell me where it was....maybe.
“My quest updated. The one I just got” showing the two the dagger in my hand that had two gems on it instead of the one.
“So...the point of killing this thing was to get one of the gems?” asked Alexandra.
“I think so.”
“In that case, where's the last gem?”
“No idea. I can ask around later.” I answered not caring much of where the last one is. Judging by how quest mechanic works in games, it would be somewhere besides here.
With those words we returned to the old priest to tell him what happened.
Part 4 – Separate Ways and a New start
“I see, so you three finally decided to go start your personal quests.” said the old priest a bit sad.
On the other hand I was happy I got to get away from a crack job psychopath.
The reason why he was sad was most likely due to the fact that he had gotten used to us in the months we spent here under his wing.
On the other hand we got free food and housing so it was fine with me. Plus the priest seems to agree with me on most matters involving Alexandra such as her affinity with the use of violence.
Don't look at me like that. What I do isn't mere violence. Its torture....to the other side.
“How are we going to leave anyway?” I asked. I rather not think that I have to walk to the western continent. That would take months to do so.
“Teleporting. We have branches all over the continent, this is a special service since only those who are in the church of Freya with a mission or close to them can use this at all.” said the old priest explaining how expensive and tiring it was to keep open the teleportation portal for people to use.
Before we left, I checked my stats since it was usually what I do in the beginning of a volume. Since the incident a while back, I found that if I increased my Vitality enough, my mana would increase after the 5000 point. Therefore I placed all of my points in it to increase my maximum mana to be 30000 instead of 25000.

To be honest, I feel that I may be too strong. However I always seem to be facing monsters that are stronger than me in a large margin. The King Troll is just an example of a level 400 Boss. There are more creatures like it popping me near me and frankly even though I rival a level 300 or level 400 in combat abilities, the monsters I face are increasing in power as well.

On the other hand my skills really haven't improved much at all. Is this because I don't have time to train it up?
“Eden hurry up, the others already left while you were daydreaming!” shouted the old priest.
Wait! They left already?! Without saying goodbye to me?
“Tch....”
I was a bit annoyed since they kinds left me on my own all of a sudden, but on the other hand I only had myself again. How many months has it been since I travelled alone? 6 months I think and back then I was under level 100 when I first met Alexandra.
I stood in the centre of the teleportation circle and waited for the old priest to finish preparing my destination.
“Get ready, I have no idea what's on the other side!” he shouted at me.
“Wait, isn't this thing connected to the branches of the church of Freya?” I was very worried about his words.
“Well...communications were cut off a while back to the western continent. You're on your own!”
Wha...........
The teleportation circle activated and I could feel my body was moving. I didn't have enough time to get off and give the old priest a good punch.
“Damn yooooooooooooooooooooooou!!!” I screamed.
When I opened my eyes, I was already at another place.
Fuuuush
A dagger or knife flew straight to my head. Danger! I moved my head to the side to dodge but it still cut me on my cheek. Then I saw several shadowy figures heading to me. I could barely see their bodies as they moved in a strange fashion.
“Damn it! Why does this kind of thing always happen to me?!”
I drew my sword and prepared for battle.

- The start of a new volume. A volume that changes a lot of things...
- Oh yeah, I noticed that some of the status windows I've posted didn't have the health and mana levels on it so I edited it to have it there.
- I'm kinda tempted to post everything in one day to get it over with.
