I grinned. Finally a challenge had come. So what if it was 13 levels above me? The more levels just proved that we were exceptional at fighting. I turned to Brock ready for him and me to crush this weakling. To my surprise, he was looking at the demon with the blood draining from his face.

Was he… scared? That one thought was so preposterous that I almost burst out laughing. Brock? Scared? As if. The Brock I knew never got scared, even when facing the most terrifying of enemies.

I nudged him. “Hey you're not scared are you? You look like you've seen a ghost.” I said grinning at him.

He glared at me. “How are you not scared? That creature is 10 levels higher than the Wandering Revenant! We barely managed to beat that creature and now we are supposed to take it on with just 2 people? Are you out of your mind!?!” He whispered-shouted at me.

I just waved him off. We are leagues better and stronger than we were when we fought that boss. Anyways we will be fine. Nowhere else is being attacked as of now so we will get help from everyone else soon.”

He glanced around at the others. “Huh, you're right. There are no other creatures attacking us.” He looked confused.

Suddenly the demon roared and started to lope towards us.

I turned to Brock and grinned. “You ready?” I asked him before leaping off of the wall, not waiting for a reply.

I activated double jump and landed smoothly, before taking off in a sprint towards Doom.

When I got within 10 ft of him and he was still coming at me, I spun, activating thunders step and appearing behind him slamming my daggers into the demon's back.

He roared, spinning around and slamming his tail into my side. I coughed and went spinning into the trees. I slammed into a tree and grunted, knocking out all of my breath.

I stood up and gritted my teeth. I had a sprained ankle and my back was throbbing but other than that I was fine. I sprinted back into the fray trying to ignore as my ankle screamed out in pain.

When I got close enough I used thunder step again, appearing above the fox-like creature. I fell down and ripped my daggers into its back dragging my daggers down with me as I fell. A spray of blood erupted above me, showering me in it.

I used a double jump to quickly get away before the creature could react. As I got a safe distance away, Brock finally arrived jumping up and slamming down at the demon. It growled and jumped to the side barely missing the blade of the ax. Brock turned, swinging his ax at the beast, trying to keep it on its toes.

It roared and bit down on the blade stopping it from moving at all. Brock grunted and tried to pry it away from it but it just slashed at him with its razor sharp claws cutting a small cut on his chest. I was confused. A slash with that much power should easily cut way deeper. Then it hit me, Endurance! It must strengthen our skin as well as our skills!

I watched as Brock tried again to pry his ax from Doom but Doom just started to rabidly shake his head slinging Brock far away as his hands slipped from the ax sending him flying into a tree.

I growled and ran at the fox demon jumping up and using double jump to go even higher, before suddenly plummeting down. As I fell I readied my daggers ready to cut through this creature. Suddenly the demon looked straight up and grinned wolfishly, red energy gathering around its jaw. My stomach plummeted as I tried to activate double jump again but it was on cooldown! I screamed as it jumped up slamming its teeth into my leg cutting it clean off.

I screamed in pain. My leg was burning and my blood was pouring out of my stump. Was this how I was going to die? I thought to myself, wondering if this was the end. Suddenly Brock reappeared and punched the beast squarely in its jaw, knocking it away. He roared slamming both of his fists into the creature's sides as it lay prone on the ground.

The creature suddenly disappeared and reappeared behind Brock. I wanted to scream out, but my throat locked up and nothing came out. The demon batted him away and he slammed into a stump, crumpling into a rag doll.

Doom cackled fiendishly, turning around and slinking toward me. I almost blacked out as blood continued to pour out of me. This was it. The end. I'm sorry Ethelred. I couldn’t honor your memory. I closed my eyes and waited for the fangs to sink into me, but it never came. I opened my eyes and almost cried out in relief.

There was Kent pummeling the side of the dastardly beast repeatedly with lightning crackling across his fists. The fox yelped and jumped away, slinking away from it and circling Kent. He grinned and a bolt of lightning that seemed to be pulsating in his hands. He aimed and threw it at the demon.

Doom growled and a shield of red light appeared in front of him ready to intercept the bolt. The bolt zoomed forward and crashed into the shield… and continued through as though it wasn’t even there. The wolf's eyes widened and it yelped as the bolt slammed into it going deep into it before it suddenly stopped and exploded sending lightning crackling through the demon.

The fox’s eyes widened and then slowly started to dim. It cried out before falling to the ground heavily.
