Chapter 50: The Trial of the Gods - Drake vs Hades (Different POV)

Battle starting…

Hades has requested a Match Spectator…

Thinking…

Duties have been handed over to Charon.

I blinked. They were giving me a new job? Even if only briefly, it was mildly surprising I hadn’t been assigned a new job in a while.

I yawned. Fights with the Master were always over far too quickly. There just didn’t seem to be a point to spectating this match.

Sure, the enemy had Harpe, but that just meant he might survive a few more seconds than normal but even that would just end with me being let down even more. I didn’t want to get too involved in the fight but it looked like I had no choice in the matter. Oh well.

Drake held Harpe out in front of him, glaring over the edge at the Master. Master was wielding his bident, a pitchfork with two prongs instead of three. It was his signature weapon besides his Helm, and that wasn’t even really a weapon.

Master just smiled at him and twirled his bident, cackling madly. “I hope you can give me a decent fight, it has been too long since I have been able to shed human blood.” He said, still twirling it casually.

Well, now it's time for Masters pre-match banter. I hope you all stay tuned until the start of the actual match.

The outsider smirked. “Oh? You don’t even think I will put a scratch on you? You don’t look nearly as much of a threat as the Night-Mare.” He said, raising his sword up in front of him.

Oh? The enemy seems to have tried to take a jab at Master’s threat level, let's see how he handles this.

Master just stopped twirling his bident and leaned on it. “You think you can beat me? That is laughable. The only one who could even put a scratch on me is Zeus, and he has a weapon on the scale of a nuclear bomb.” Master retorted haughtily.

Oh no, Masters really getting into it, this isn’t looking good for his opponent, lets see how he responds.

Drake just held Harpe out to the side. “If you think you can kill me, take your best shot.” He said, face lit up in fiery passion.

Can it be? Drake is looking forward to this fight? Oh how wonderful! This fight might not be as boring as I was expecting!

The Master's face darkened. “You dare think that a puny mortal like you can survive even one shot from an almighty being like me?!? How dare you! I will crush you for your impudence!” Master roared, swinging his bident in an arc in front of him, almost catching Drake off guard with his sudden movements.

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

This isn’t looking good for Drake! Master has already gotten angry at him just a couple seconds into the fight! They are already coming to blows it seems! Stick around to see how it plays out!

Drake brought Harpe up quickly, blocking Masters' strike and retaliation with a strike of his own. Master simply ducked to the side and lashed out with the but of the staff on his bident.

It hit Drakes leg with a loud *Crack* making him yelp in pain and swipe at Master with Harpe.

Master was too slow to react and the sword skimmed him on the arm, dealing superficial damage. Master simply shook out his arm before stabbing forward quickly and violently.

Drake parried and they continued to spar, Drake trying to stay on the defensive while Master tried to fill him with holes. Drake was actually doing really well.

Drake seems to be doing well for himself! Not only is the Master having trouble wounding him, he also got first blood in this match! That could be the deciding factor in this match so just keep it in mind.

Drake finally got in a counter, scoring Master across the ribs, letting out a spray of golden blood, or Ichor. Hades- I mean Master screamed in pain and viciously stabbed at Drake 5 times in a row, none of them dealing any damage.

With this strike, Drake takes the upper hand, it will be far more difficult for Master to win with his state than for Drake to end him with no wounds. Master also seems to be entering a “Berserker” state, which could either be really good for him, or devastating.

Master roared and started to jab over and over again at Drake, making Drake struggle to dodge and parry all of the strikes coming his way. I felt bad for him. This was why no one fought Hades, he had too much of a temper and would get dangerous when close to losing.

Lets see who can recover first, Master or Drake. This event will determine the outcome of the fight. It all comes down to who can get the upper hand in the next couple of seconds.

Drake's eyes narrowed and his body suddenly changed, becoming more top heavy and his legs became visibly weaker. His strikes started to send Master's weapon flying out of his hands with every swing, but Master would just re-summon it everytime, resulting in an endless battle of blades.

Master seems to be struggling to gain the upper hand. They are now in a sort of “deadlock” and can’t hurt each other but also are both not taking any damage themselves, so it was a decent outcome.

Drake cut off Master’s hand and started to go on the offensive, hitting him over and over as Master struggled to get away. Drake slowly but surely racked up all sorts of wounds over Master's body.

Looks like the winner has been decided! There is little to no way for Master to recover from this, he seems to be trying to get out but is stuck until Drake finishes him off.

I will be honest with you guys, this fight was much MUCH better than I expected.

Master finally gave up all hopes of defense and Drake proceeded to hit him again and again with Harpe, turning him into motes of light.

Wow! And just like that Drake shows that he has skill and it wasn’t just dumb luck. Dumb luck couldn’t beat the master like that.

Drake sighed in relief as his eyes scanned a notification, before they bulged out and he gasped, before joining his fellow challengers.

Thank you all for tuning in! Hope you have a great rest of your day! Bye.
