Emily
I breathed out looking at Kent. “You are in a lot of trouble young man!” I scolded him.
His face blanked. “What… I’m older than you.” He pointed out waving me away.
I slapped his hand away. “Doesn’t matter. You scared me to death!” I shrieked at him, grabbing his shirt and shaking him.
He grabbed my hand and pushed me away. “What did I even do to you?” He grumbled.
I pouted and put my hands on my hips. “What do you mean!?! You say that jumping off a cliff is not being insensitive to me? How rude!” I stuck my chin in the air and looked away from him.
He laughed weakly. “I only wanted to test the extent of vitality in our bodies. And look, I'm completely fine!” He protested.
I glared at him and poked his chest pushing him back. “That wasn’t a part of the argument. The problem is that you willingly jumped off of a 50 foot tall cliff!” I yelled, getting genuinely frustrated at him.
He just turned around and walked over to the meditation pads. “Okay.” was all he said.
I fumed and marched over to him. “Excuse me!?! You can’t just leave in the middle of the conversation!” I said standing over him. “Who do you think you are? You are so annoying.” I turned my head and walked over to another meditation pad. Might as well get those 3 dao seeds so that I could get those nice rewards.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I had already learned the dao seed of life, but now I needed to learn more. What was something that defined me? I was obsessive to the extreme, loved to help people, was kind (I hoped) and I was always trying to do better.
Anything else? I thought for a second, then got it. I loved to make things. I had wanted to be an architect before I discovered medicine, and just loved to create things and build structures that looked good and were effective.
So I loved to build things. How does that correlate to the dao? Whenever I make things I do it for a purpose. When you make a well it is to get water, when you make a house it is to live in and spend your time. I felt like I was getting somewhere now.
When you built something you got the satisfaction that it was made by you. The act of building things has been around for almost as long as humans have. On earth at least, I didn’t know about the rest of the galaxy.
I felt like I was missing something important. Building was a thing that made life easier? No, that wasn’t it. Building required putting your entire soul into what you were doing. That was a part of it but it still wasn’t what I was looking for.
I sighed and opened my eyes. I wouldn't get a dao seed by trial and error.

I looked over at Kent, his forehead was scrunched up adorably and he was mumbling things to himself.
I used a little mana and shot a pure ball of consecrated life magic into the air spinning and bending it every which way. When I got bored I tried to make it turn into different shapes. I made a wall, a pen, a shield, a sword, and a doll. As I was playing I realized what I had been missing.
I hurried and got back into a meditative pose and closed my eyes. It wasn't building. It was creating. With this new knowledge everything started to come together. The act of creation was making beautiful and efficient things that served a clear and distinct purpose. They were made to do that task as well as they possibly could.
Creating was the art of taking a blank canvas and filling it with amazing and beautiful things. The kind of things that struck awe into the minds of those who witnessed it in all its glory. Creation was how gods showed their divine might, and how they made places, people, creatures and everything else.
Creation was everlasting and unyielding.
Creation is the cause of everything and the root of all things good, and bad, in the world.
I heard a *ding* and a notification appeared in front of me.
Dao of Creation comprehended!
Dao seed of Creation. +10 END, +10 PER, +10 WILL
I smiled. That was nice. I always loved seeing myself grow in power and capability.
I turned to Kent. “Well?” I asked him.
He opened his eyes and sighed. “Nothing. I feel like there's something I'm missing but I can’t figure out what.” He said thinking.
I nodded at him. “I had that too. But I played around with magic and found the answer. You should take a small break and try to find the last piece that makes it all click.” I told him.
He nodded, thinking about my words. I looked up. The sun had moved quite a bit. I had been meditating for at least a couple of hours.
I looked at Kent again. “What dao are you trying to get?” I asked him.
He looked back up at me. “I am trying for the dao of breaking. Don’t know how your tip will help me.” He mentioned offhandedly.
I just looked at him. “Just punch something.” I told him. Then I remembered I was still mad at him. “Wait! Just because I'm helping you doesn’t mean I'm okay with what you did, you hear me.” I told him sternly.
He raised his hands defensively. “Okay I get it. It isn’t that big of a deal anyways.” He said casually.
I balked. Not that big of a deal? He could have died. I fumed but then took a deep breath. Back to learning the dao.
