Brock
I opened my eyes. Where was I? I had been talking to that tall dude when I was suddenly transported away. I heard the crashing of waves on the shore and looked around. I was standing on a cliff that overlooked a vast sea. It was the kind of cliff that people would love to dive off of. As I turned my head to understand more of my surroundings I realized something crucial. Was I taller?
I seemed to have grown about 2 inches making my already massive frame even more giant.
Suddenly I heard screaming off a little ways away. My army instincts took over and I rushed in the direction that I heard the sound come from. The trees seemed to get denser the further I ran until I reached a clearing and in it was my old buddy Kent. He was screaming his head off and flinching away from what looked like a small child with green skin and impish features. A goblin.
The goblin was holding a dagger and cackling as it charged Kent, who seemed to have scales covering his bare arms. I narrowed my eyes. I wasn't about to let my friend die on me. I picked up the ax the giant man had given me and charged the small creature with a roar of defiance.
The creature turned its head and saw me and stopped its wild cackling. It shrieked and turned to face me. I jumped up into the air and brought my ax down in a rush of air.
The creature hurriedly brought up its dagger to try to block but there was too much downward force for it to block. The ax powered downward and smashed into its dagger- and continued down slamming into its face. Its beady little eyes widened in surprise and it shrieked as it was chopped in half, before it suddenly went silent.

“Th- thanks…” Kent stuttered, staring in shock at the bloody corpse that used to be a living breathing goblin.
“No problem,” I told him. “You seemed like you needed the help. Where is your weapon?” I said after noting his empty hands.
“I didn’t get one. Apparently I am more suited to fighting with my fists.” Kent replied, voice still shaky.
I smirked. “It suits you.” I told him.
“Why? Because I got into that fist-fight that one time?” Kent looks confused and seems to be trying to get a grip on his emotions.

“No, because when we were…” I trailed off when I remembered his PTSD about the subject. I had been going to say. No, because when we were in the war and you ran out of bullets you fought that one guy off with your bare fists. But after seeing the expression on his face I decided not to.
“Hey just who are you guys!” a feminine voice called out to us.
“We are friends as long as you aren’t looking for trouble.” I yelled, turning around.
There was a tall asian woman standing there with two daggers in her hands. “Uh-huh and how do I know you aren’t lying to me.”
I blinked the pointed over my shoulder at the goblin. “Because then you would look like that guy.” I told her blandly.
She looked over my shoulder and saw the bloody corpse and winced. “If anything that makes me trust you less.”
Kent finally spoke up. “Brock only did that to it because it was attacking me.”
“What? But I came over here because it sounded like there was a little kid being attacked and you don’t look very little to me.”
Kent blushed furiously. “That um may have been me.” he said, turning his head so we couldn’t see his crimson face.
I looked over at the woman. “I am Brock, who are you?”
“I'm Minya.” she said, offering her hand, but then took it back when she saw the blood on his ax and hand.
There was a loud crashing sound and a *Oof* as a person suddenly fell face first into the ground. “Oww.” another feminine voice said as a blonde woman stood up with a face full of dirt and leaves. She saw us all and let out an eep of surprise before quickly composing herself.
“Hey there! I'm Emily, she said in a timid voice.
“Kent.” Kent mumbled, still pretending to be looking at a tree like it was the most interesting thing in the world.
“Minya.” Minya told her kindly.
“I am Brock.” I said with indifference.
Suddenly I heard more voices and a man and a woman walked into the clearing. The man was very pale and looked to be around 24 and the woman looked familiar with deep brown hair and slender figure. Then again, nobody here was fat.
We all made our introductions again with my stoic “I am Brock” being the most interesting thing until minya’s turn.
“Wait, aren't you that famous beauty pageant queen, is it Layton?” Minya said as though she was recalling something.
“Yes! It is nice to finally be recognised!” The woman said with a flip of her hair.
“Hey all, I'm drake.” The pale man said, waving a hand at us.
“So… what are we supposed to do now?” I asked. We were all just kinda standing there doing nothing.

I scanned over all of the information as quickly as possible before looking up. “We need to complete these as fast as we possibly can.” I told them, dead serious.
“What why? I mean it’s a good idea but I don’t see any idea to do them that fast.” Minya said, looking very puzzled.
“Yeah it's good to get them done and get out of here but what's the point? It literally says we can die!” Layton said, looking furious.
Kent stood up, dusting himself up. “Did you not read the entire thing? Because, if there are this many ways to make life easier for other people we need to take it. We need to save as many people as we can.”
I smiled. Now this was the Kent I knew fiercely determined to make others succeed alongside him. He had always been talented and he had always shared that talent with everyone. If only that talent hadn’t gotten him drafted into war.
