We were all huddled together around Drake giving him water and food as he lay groaning on the ground. I was really scared for him. According to Emily, he had accidentally tweaked something that affected his blood flow so now he wasn’t getting enough blood to his heart. The only reason he was still breathing was because Emily was doing all the things the body did on its own manually.
I was really impressed with Emily, the human body was NOT simple, the fact that she could even slightly replicate what the body did was amazing. We just had to wait until Drake woke back up again so he could fix it. He had damaged his brain a lot from just one slight shift, but luckily Emily had been able to stop most of it, otherwise Drake would have died from his brain swelling up.
I looked at Drake, he was shifting and moaning in his sleep. I wasn’t even sure if it was sleep or a coma. I assumed it was sleep because wouldn’t a coma make him not move at all?
Emily waved a glowing green hand over Drake concentrating deeply. Drake’s eyes fluttered but stayed closed. Emily sighed and pulled her hand away, sitting in a cross legged position as she half stared half glared at Drake. Apparently she thought that it was his fault for messing with his brain in ways she hadn’t talked to him about, even though he had followed her every word and did exactly what she said to do. I should know, with my improved intelligence, it was far easier to translate words that usually would come across in a mumble or whisper.
Perception and Intelligence combined would be a frightening combo. You would be able to hear in a large radius while also understanding everything that was said, no matter how little sense the words made.
Emily waved another glowing hand over Drake and this time it looked like he would actually wake up! But seconds later he collapsed and started snoring, loudly. I was mad at him, not only did we have to worry about his safety, but we also had to endure his loud snores? Simply horrible, why were we so nice to him again?
Emily continued to work her magic but nothing ever happened. Emily was starting to look like she was falling apart, her eyes had bags under them and she was shaking ever so slightly. She looked horrible.
I felt bad for her. Whenever one of us got hurt it was always her who had to help us. To be fair, she was the only one with any healing powers, but I still felt like we could at least help out a little bit.
Walking over to her and Drake, I crouched down next to Emily. “What can I do to help?” I asked earnestly, she just did so much for us, it would be wrong not to help.
She smiled gratefully at me and then put me to work. “I need some sort of cloth or leaf that can hold water and then I need you to find the nearest stream and bring me the coldest water you can find, he is burning up and it might also help wake him up.
I nodded and stood up looking around for something that would work as a cloth not finding anything. I just ripped off my shirt sleeve. It wasn’t like my shirt was even fully there anymore, it had rips and holes all over, I was just making it slightly worse.
I ran over to the nearest river (Drake had found one earlier) and sponged up all of the water that I could, trying to keep as much as possible to give to Drake. I rushed back and handed the cloth over to Emily. She nodded at me and took it, immediately applying it to his forehead, dabbing it on all of the places that looked to be overheated, mainly his forehead.
Drake's eyes blinked open and he looked at us. “Wha…” He asked before Emily was upon him. She all but attacked him fixing his brain now that the brain was actually firing so that she could see all of the things that needed to be fixed.

She started talking quickly to Drake about how he could alter the mistakes he made to keep all of the good and improve his form until it was usable. I walked away. I needed to get one more dao before I could complete the quest the Grand AI had given me. I really wanted all of the rewards that the quest offered.
Settling into a meditative state I closed my eyes. I was trying to get something from my Storm Titan side. I had already gotten a dao from my dragon, a dao from my very being and a dao from both my dragon and my Storm Titan, destruction. With that in mind I wanted to ‘complete’ my set of daos with one from the last source I hadn’t taken from.
What was my Storm Titan side? I opened my eyes and conjured a Lightning bolt, staring intently as it strobed and pulsed in my hand. It was like a living thing, almost. It felt like it had its own will, its own intentions.
I focused on that feeling locking down on it. Lightning was not something that just happened willy nilly, it was something that nature made for a specific purpose. I felt the passing of time as I focused completely on the bolt of pure lightning in my hand.
As time went on I realized that a storm was not just lightning. It was also rain, hail, snow, sleet, air (the clouds) and lastly the lightning. Thunder was also a part of lightning so I rolled them all into one. A storm was a fierce natural disaster that couldn’t be controlled, it was like a wild horse that you rode to get power, you were not helping it, it was helping you.
With this thought I started to delve deeper into the mysteries of the storm. As I developed my dao I started to feel as if I was getting close, I just needed to understand more about the water aspects of the storm. Water in a storm was like a flood, an uncontrollable and unending onslaught that would soak you to the bone if you weren’t prepared for it.
I felt like that was right but it wasn’t what I was missing. Then I wanted to smack myself in the forehead. It was so obvious! I was looking at it completely the wrong way! They weren’t individual things coming together to make a whole, they were literally all the same thing, energy, just shown in different ways!

I smiled. It had taken a while but I had done it. I decided to put off investing my points and opened my eyes fully, looking around. Drake was up and Emily seemed to be berating him for messing up so badly. He just sat there and took it, waiting for her to calm down. It was going to take a while by the looks of it.
“Hey guys! I finished the quest, now I’m even further ahead of you! Try to keep up!” I said trying to get their competitive spirits fired up.
Emily just looked at me and smiled evilly. “Oh, I will, don’t worry.” I had to repress a shudder. Emily could be scary when she wanted to.
Plikt suddenly spoke up. “Plikt got dao of Queen!” He exclaimed proudly, standing up from where he had been meditating.
Huh? Plikt could get daos?
