I had absolutely no idea where I was going. I was just trying to find any landmarks I had seen before.

The only thing I knew for sure was that the Nightmares of Earth had been separated. For all I knew I was the only one that had been teleported but I wasn’t so sure. I had a hoof print on my face that I can’t remember how I got. The only thing I remember was the Night-Mare.

It had appeared out of nowhere utterly destroying everything we had worked so hard to build in an instant. It terrified me. Knowing that all of the power that we had accumulated over the past couple of days was nothing compared to the might of that beast.

We were specks before it, hoping to not get trampled. It brought back horrible memories for me. Of being cornered and having to fight my way back to the base. I shuddered. I would not let my mind go there.

I looked around. All I could see was trees, trees, and more trees. It was starting to grate on my nerves. As I was scowling to myself I suddenly heard a loud scream. “MY QUEEN!”

I jolted and looked in the direction that the sound was coming from. What in the world was going on? Who was the queen being mentioned? Was it another secret boss?

Without a second thought I ran in the direction of the scream. I leaped over roots and rocks and kept my momentum up by bouncing off of trees to turn. It was quite exhilarating actually.

I arrived at the place where the yell had originated from and was shocked at what I saw.

There was a huge goblin that looked to be over 5 feet tall crumpled on the ground next to a humanoid form. I couldn’t make out who or what the person was but I was pretty sure it was another goblin.

Was the secret boss the goblin queen? That would be a twist of fate. Killing the captain only to have to fight the queen. I scanned the goblin.

I was confused. Since when did goblins have names and classes? This goblin was also really weak so the queen probably wasn’t much to look at. Probably only level 10 at best.

I scanned the queen and was surprised at what popped up.

That was Layton? She must have killed the queen only for this goblin to come out of nowhere and hit here from behind. The scream must have been the queen dying.

I gritted my teeth and charged. How dare it try to kill Layton! I would have my revenge!

The goblin whipped around and snarled at me, picking up two shields by its sides. “You dare attack the queen? Plikt will end your filthy life!” The goblin screamed charging at me. I immediately shot out a lightning bolt at it hoping to end it quickly.

The goblin narrowed its eyes and a large spectral shield appeared in front of it intercepting my bolt. I expected the bolt to tear through the shield but before it could the goblin tilted the shield deflecting my bolt.

The bolt shot away ripping through a tree before exploding in a blast of thunder and lightning.

The goblins eyes widened as it saw the damage that one bolt of lightning did. Good it knew its life was in danger.

Suddenly Layton stirred. She groggily sat up and looked around, yawning. Her face started to clear up but then she saw us battling. She cried out and stood up. “Wait! Don’t hurt him!” She screamed out.

Both me and the goblin looked at each other and then at her. Who was she talking to? I could see it going either way but wasn’t completely sure.

Then Plikt bowed. “As my queen wishes. This man is strong enough to court you, my queen.” He said head down low.

Layton blushed. “That's not what I meant! I am not interested in that!” She fumbled for words for a second before turning to me. “Sorry about that Kent, Plikt is my new bodyguard and he hasn’t met any of the NoE yet.” She said sheepishly rubbing the back of her head.

I cocked my head. “What is NoE?” I asked her.

She looked confused. “What do you mean? You came up with the name. The Nightmares of Earth? Did you already forget?” She asked me.

I shook my head. “No, I just didn’t think of the abbreviation for it. Sorry about that. So… How did you meet Plikt?” I asked her.

She sighed. “I was teleported by the Night-Mare and then he suddenly walked in here. I used my Alluring Aura and he suddenly started calling me his queen and I got a slew of notifications about how I had charmed him and how he was now completely devoted to me. It was very interesting.” She finished.

I nodded. “I see… I was also teleported but I wasn’t sure if anyone else did. Its both a relief and horrible that everyone was teleported. I’m not sure if I could have lasted out here alone for a while.” I suddenly glared at her. “Also, why were you knocked out when I first got here?” I asked her with my arms folded.

Plikt came over as well. “Yes, Plikt also wants to know why the queen was unconscious when Plikt first arrived. What happened?” He asked, looking at me and copying my crossed arms, then glared at her.

She sheepishly looked away. “About that… When I sent you to look for food I suddenly got really tired and may have dozed off a little. Sorry about that.” She looked back at us, hesitantly smiling.

I sighed. “You were sleeping? Why am I not surprised?” I said, rubbing my forehead in consternation.

She just shrugged her shoulders before Plikt suddenly tackled her. “You mustn’t do that ever again. You gave Plikt pain in the heart!” He whined.

I glanced at him. “Don’t you mean a heart attack?” I asked.

He nodded vigorously. “Yes, Plikt did mean that. Thanks much, lightning man.” He said bowing.

I looked at him weird. “Lightning man? Really?” I asked him.

He nodded sagely. “Yes you use lightning and you is a man. Lightning man!” He said while doing jazz hands.

I just smiled at him. “You know Plikt. You are a pretty funny guy.” I told him.

He shook his head. “Plikt is not a guy Plikt is a goblin.” He told me seriously. “They are very similar Plikt will not get mad.” He told me, patting me on the back.

I cracked another grin. I liked this guy.

Layton cleared her throat. “Well, should we go and try to find the others?” She asked us.

I looked off into the distance. “Yeah, let's.” I said. And off we went.
