The hole deep beneath my feet is still covered in darkness as I still fail to trust whoever this new person is. I still remember what their title was. If I don't remember it wrong, this individual is supposed to be 'the master of slaves.' For all I know, the act of them being kind and friendly after such torture could be their set-up to win me over, but I'm not so naive.
Despite the person's seemingly good intentions, I stand firm in my refusal to be anyone's slave. The person's actions have been kind, and I can't sense any evil intentions, but their attire and authoritative demeanor suggest otherwise.
It's baffling how someone, not even the nobility in fantasy novels, can wield such power. Who are they? Are they even human? Their clothes conceal any clues, and I can't even determine their gender.
Their appearance is that of a mythical boss you encounter at the end of your journey, like that impossible boss at the end of the game. Still, if I'm to believe that I'm going to be some end boss's slave, that makes it even more concerning just how the hell are you supposed to be free from someone like them?
I refuse to be that! I must find a way to break free from their hold and rescue Alice and her father. Even if I can't do it now, I will find a way to exact revenge on everyone. But my primary concern is Alice and what they might be doing to her right now. Should I confide in this so-called 'mother'?
"What's in your mind, little one? You seem lost in your thoughts," Focalor asks me while placing her hand on my cheek so they can move my head toward them.
"My friend, I believe they are also keeping them captive. They saved me a while ago, I worry." At my words, Lord Focalor soon takes my hand and leads me outside the dungeon. We walk past a lot of prisoners and criminals who beg for mercy, but there's nothing we can do about them, is there?
It's not my problem, to be honest. Just like many walked past me without speaking up, I shall also remain quiet, for I'm playing my survival game alone. After a couple of minutes of walking, we finally made it to the outside after going through a quick security check, which was quite uncomfortable.
The outside world looks nothing like I remembered it. It was clear that at some point, we left the town and moved somewhere else, but when did that happen? I don't remember moving out of that cell at all. At this news, I suddenly freeze and cry out for Alice. I am not thinking clearly; I only feel that they stayed behind, which is enough to start my rage boiling again.

"AHHHHHHGG!!!!" A sudden smoke and sparks once more appear when I begin feeling anger against everyone and everything. The ground shakes beneath me, but then it is all over; this sudden reaction is not good as it only manages to catch the attention of Focalor, whose grin grows big.
I can sense their evil gaze directly at me now, as the lie has fallen from their act. I knew it all along. Why would I even believe that someone who looks just like your average villain would be a good, kind-hearted person? How stupid of an idea would that be?
"My, my, now I don't ever want to let you go; you'll be mine forever," there it was, that fake smile and kind act had vanished entirely, just how I expected things to be. I can never have anything good, can I? No! I always have to struggle tooth and nail for happiness. I can never have it easy!
Is it because I used to be a dumb useless sack of shit in my previous life? Is this life my punishment for being such a worthless pile of garbage back then? Am I really meant to be denied a life in this new world, too? Is this some sort of limbo?
Suddenly, time seems to slow down, and black smoke appears out of nowhere. The skies turn black, and my vision goes a little blurry when I begin to hear what sounds like demonic voices. There's laughter and whispering, but I can't seem to understand whatever the voices say until someone speaks my old language.
"You seek an explanation for your misfortune."
{Echoes & whispers} "Explanation," "An explanation," "We shall explain," "We can explain it," "We can help you," "We are many."
What was I witnessing just now? What was this? I couldn't understand it well enough, but the creatures speaking to me sounded like nothing I should take help from, and their whispers and cries freaked me out a lot. Still, I couldn't help but think, what have I got to lose?
"You've got nothing." "We know." "You're in a tight situation." We know" "WE KNOW EVERYTHING"
How the hell did the voices know what I was thinking? Were they inside my mind? Did that mean this was just all an illusion? At my last thought, a burst of wild laughter broke out. The voices began to laugh at me like I was some kind of idiot for thinking that they were the creations of my imagination.
"Tell me then! Why am I always faced with misfortune?!" With this question, the mist or fog thickened and became even darker than before. clearly, the entries were gaining power over the tangible realm.
"Because a very evil goddess thinks it's more fun this way." "More fun." "You're simply their toy." "You're a toy," "An amusement park," "We know it," "We see her," "We can't defeat them," "You must do it for us."
A goddess's plaything? My eyes widened at the reveal of my troubles, but it only made things much worse knowing the truth of it. How was I supposed to even help with things talking to me? Could I even trust them? I mean, it would make a lot of sense if I thought about it.
My life always seems to go well enough, and then out of nowhere, it all goes to shit. I find myself in a bad situation whenever the timing couldn't be any more precise, like it was planned all along, or like someone or something controls reality however they want.
It would make sense that all of those random events come from something like 'an evil goddess.'
"Our time is about to expire," "Expire," "We can't," "Last much," "Longer," "Evil goddess too powerful," "You must" "Look" "for the eye," "Look for the eye."
Those are the last whispers I hear before things go back to normal, and it looks like nobody else ever noticed the interaction with those voices as if they were never there, but they did help. I must look for an eye, but what does that even mean?
