The Worlds Tournament is an event held once enough worlds are available to fight to the death. Thirty-two worlds fight it out until one world survives. The Game of the Gods of Destruction entry is often involuntary and forced upon probably because the world asked for the help of the gods of Destruction at some point.
The tournament was designed for the entertainment of the gods and also as an easy way to get rid of worlds on the brink of collapse so that the gods could at least have some entertainment because gods also get bored when nothing is fascinating to watch.
Every world gets its variation of holy weapons and heroes to fight for such a world. Unfortunately, in Yoimiya's world, such weapons have been destroyed for a long time, thanks to the first Witch Queen, who thought her seal would remain up forever.
Without Holy weapons given by the gods of Destruction themselves, the world of the current protagonist is in jeopardy. A more comprehensive example would be a man trying to fight off a pack of lions alone; the odds are not looking good. The chances of victory are already one over 32, but because of the lack of holy weapons times four, the odds are suddenly one over 128.

[Odds of the current world to survive the tournament: (1/128)100, which is <1%]
The enemy world already has four holy heroes ready to go, while the current world has none. The tournament rules are simple, and the process is straightforward. The first clash will happen one year after both worlds pass the test. After the year has passed, the worlds will be forced to select their fighters.
Fighters can be swapped in other future fights, as there will be five scheduled world battles to determine the ultimate winner. The best world will be the one that claims three out of five available victories, whether consecutive or oddly won!
The world tournament can also switch from game modes in terms of combat rules and the type of battle only if the winning world wishes to give one last chance to the losing world! Is it unfair, you say? TOO BAD! YOU should've been stronger!
Everything is allowed during matches between fighters; dirty tricks or illusions are permitted, as well as killing one's opponent so that you might perhaps hinder the enemy team further. The only thing that's not allowed is requests from the audience or outside forces of any kind unless approved by the gods of Destruction.
Any losing world can also accept their doom if they have lost three out of five battles and skip the two other scheduled fights. Skipping will erase the timer on their world, and destruction is therefore inevitable.
